The three beautiful concerts held in the Arena and proposed by Canale 5 on TV are over, but the Il Volo concerts were 4 in the Arena and the last concert had no singer guests, but only our very talented Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t at this concert, but some of you told me they preferred it, as the performance was only by Il Volo.
Naturally another sold-out for the Arena.
However, there were lights and stage effects and also an orchestra and choir, although in a slightly smaller form.
So I propose the beautiful videos made by my friend Francesca Brazzale who was present this time too, thanks Francy! 😘
The concert began with the beautiful NELLE TUE MANI (Now we are Free) from the film Gladiator. This song always gives me shivers and sung by Il Volo I would say double chills!!
Wow Janet Dong, I saw you really well there in the front row, while Piero and Ignazio passed very close to you!!! How lucky you were, I’m happy for you! 😍😘
Here you are, as you can see Piero had just passed by and you were waiting for Ignazio to pass by.😉
Now there are three solos:
Ignazio begins with a beautiful song by Queen, SHOW MUST GO ON, wonderful.
Followed by a very good Gianluca with Elton John’s ROCKET MAN.
And finally Piero with AMOR VIDA DE MI VIDA taken from Maravilla.
In this concert several songs from the new CD were performed which we will slowly hear!

And now the sweet SUCCEDE.

This virtual and intense duet between Ignazio and Dalla singing LA SERA DEI MIRACOLI by Dalla is beautiful.
And now Piero with a song in Spanish: TORERO QUIERO SÉ famous double step El Gato Montes.

In short, still a beautiful concert, naturally Francesca tried to film more of the new songs, leaving out the ones we know and have seen and heard several times, but which were nevertheless performed that evening too.

Unfortunately no, Franco, there were supposed to be three concerts, but then given the great demand for tickets another date was added, but without the television coverage.

Yes Kathy, I was in the second and certainly deserved this fourth concert due to the total commitment of our guys.
Oh Daniela and Pat – you keep me out of breath here LOL. I did just – finally – get to read your latest article on the third concert yet having the full video to watch still outstanding – and biiiing a new mail pops up in my inbox with this new follow-up article covering the fouth and last one at The Arena. I cannot follow along – dear IL VOLO take a long break please in order for me to catch up and for poor Daniela and Pat to get a moment to relax. But thanksyou, thank you, thank you so much to you gals for yet a lovely article that I shall be re-watching/studying more carefully in the nearest future. PS From the above video clips I kind of feel that the guys were a bit more relaxed and enjoyed themselves more thoroughly this last night. What an energy with which Gianluca performs “Rocket Man” here – and I love the grand opening with the Gladiator song so forthfully performed truly showing and confirming their big voices and skilled singing abilities. And I love that Ignazio once again has taken on one of the Freddie Mercury/Queens songs – so perfect for him and his voice! With Piero we do always get full value for the money – he has turned very stable truly mastering his voice and the difficult aries. Yet another wonderful concert. Only, not beeing too fond of the new Ad Astra Album, I think they did – maybe – sing a bit too many songs from this – leaving out some of my peersonal “musts” and faves, namely, those from not the least the Morricone Album. But that is, of course, at matter of individual taste.
Yes, one can always debate on whether IL VOLO is best all alone – or in these Canale 5 guest versions, There are pros and cons, but now having been attending two of the latter, I do feel that the audience do get a value-added bonus, as the concerts are pro-longed with about 1½ hr and hence still giving us a full IL VOLO concert (nornally 2 hrs) as usual. But yet again, the 3½ hrs. can feel very long and does tire out the boys – hence I feel that they are more active and free just being themselves. So… I am lucky having tickets for one of their summer concerts – 05SEP24 in Macerata – and that will probably give me a better evaluation option of the two alternatives. One is for sure though that it is ALWAYS worthwhile to attend the concerts at Arena di Verona as the venue in itself is a true fantastic experience. So I shall be back given the opportunity – with or without guest stars :-).

I agree with you, Kirsten, that the Morricone Tribute is the best and Ad Astra comes in a poor second. You’re so fortunate to be able to see so many of their concerts but, then, you’re a lot closer than Canada and a LOT YOUNGER to be able to travel the distance. I’m just lucky I got to see them in person twice, at my age! Hugs to you, Dol.
Thank you Dol. I agree that I am lucky being able to travel to many of their European/Italian concerts and I do appreciate that very much. I hope you will get the same opportunity next year when they cross the big pond to tour the US. As to age… not my favorite subject – but I am not as young as you may think so how many future oversea travels I’ll have coming in the future are probably not many as they are indeed exhausting. But of course Dolores, I don’t even compare Morricone with Ad Astra. Morricone was an author of music with a very long experience and also exceptional gifts. Ad Astra was written by young composers, but they certainly gave a lot, particularly in a period of “musical ugliness”, Ad Astra is certainly much higher of what today’s music market offers and pushes, but we are the ones who have to decree its success, and I believe that for our guys, hearing their new songs on which they worked and hoped so much was an indescribable emotion.
Slow down, catch your breath and enjoy everything. I will be watching the concerts again and again! 😊😍💗
Dear Kirsten, I’m happy that you liked the presentation of the fourth concert, obviously we knew it would be different, everything was done by our guys, this one deserved to be seen too, we’ll decide for next time.
As I explained, the videos that Francesca recorded are these and she gave priority to the songs that the boys performed less and this is why there are so many songs on the new album and I rejoice for this, I like them all very much and I understand that if they don’t make them heard, we can’t get used to these new songs, because for now only Capolavoro plays on the radio and even that quite rarely.
I like your reasoning on the duration of the concerts and in fact I believe that Il Volo has not taken away anything of its own, it has only added the presence of other singers to its concert, lengthening the duration of the concerts. Therefore the foreign fans still liked it and for us Italians it was a dive into the beautiful, often forgotten Italian songs.
However I agree with you, an Il volo concert is always worth seeing.
I don’t know how you can possibly keep up with our Three Wonders! Such a lot to follow and comment about for us, Daniela and Pat! And, such a superb job, as usual.
On another note, I finally got my new CD Ad Astra from Amazon last week and must say that the Morricone tribute is still my favourite CD. Can’t wait to see what Canadian cities (or which one, if only one) will be on their 2025 Tour. Just hope I haven’t gotten too old to make the trip if it’s in Toronto! 😊😊

Dolores, I admit that these three guys make me work a lot lately, but I do it willingly because I think of you, on the other side of the world, who perhaps don’t have detailed news.
Dolores will come next year and I really hope they do a few more dates in Canada, remember that it is you who have to put pressure on those who organize the concerts in Canada.

I made an incredible discovery last night, I have MEDIASET ITALIA WITH RAI1 on my cable list! Found it quite by accident…happy accident! It’s way up in the high numbers, if you live in the US and have EXFINITY (COMCAST) as your cable company, check it out!! I’m hoping next time the boys are on CANALE 5 that I might be able to view them live!! SO EXCITED!!
It’s very impressive to see four consecutive concerts in Verona to be SOLD OUT!!…..but expect that’s the case everywhere our treasures go!

Carol, I think the most enthusiastic were Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca who saw that their concerts were requested by people and also the television success was really very strong, I just looked at an article that was published on May 23rd and it’s not a fanpage, still receives positive comments today and there are 1400 already written. Incredible.
How wonderful that you have those TV programs, you have to tell us if they work well when there are concerts.

Hi Daniela and Pat. What a surprise to open this post and see my name and photo at this concert. My first time having a front row seat and I was in heaven being so close to them. This concert was magical because it was only them. Their beautiful strong voices and their perfect harmonies just dazzle me. I brought a friend who had never been to their concerts and after she said it was goosebumps from start to finish. The entire production, lighting, sound , orchestra, back up chorus and our talented guys made this an unforgettable experience. Thank you for posting all these great parts if that wonderful evening. You two are the best!

J’ai vu à Vérone les 3 premiers concerts avec les invités. Je ne regrette pas cette expérience mais je reconnais que moi aussi je préfère les voir seuls. Sur les 3 j’ai préféré le dernier, le 12, car j’ai trouvé qu’en plus des invités il y avait eu davantage de chansons”pur” Il Volo. Normalement je dois les revoir à Paris

Assisti em Verona aos 3 primeiros concertos. Não me foi possível ficar para o de dia 13, infelizmente , porque já tinha voo de regresso marcado para esse dia.
Gostei de todos os concertos, mas o meu favorito foi o de dia 12 porque teve mais Il Volo e menos convidados…. Mas, como sou grande fan do Piero, adorei todos os duetos dele principalmente o com o Ricardo Cocciante.
Gosto muito do álbum Ad Astra e tive pena que não tivessem cantado mais canções deste álbum.
Agora resta esperar por 29 de Outubro para os ver em Lisboa 😍😍😍

Janet I was surprised to see you there, I didn’t know you were going. And a first row seat to top it off. Lucky lady, I couldn’t make it this year but this is the one I would have loved to have seen. OMG it was one of, if not the best. Everything about it was first class. I love that GG really can move around on that stage, love to watch him strut. Ignazio’s voice gives me goosebumps with his out of this world high notes. Piero has really come into his own with his new (to me) beautiful arias. Can’t wait for him to make his debut at the Met or whichever opera venue he chooses.
Grazie mille Pat and Daniela, you two deserve a break now. But not too long please,because we don’t want to miss a thing.

Thank you Daniela and Pat for all your hard work on bringing us these four concerts. They were all beautiful. I always enjoy watching the guys interact with each other. They are not afraid to show their love and respect for each other and they share it with the audience. I especially couldn’t help but laugh after Piero and Ignazio finished La Donna e Mobile in the 3rd concert. Watching them laugh, hug, and have so much fun together was really special. And their energy never stops. They always do everything with great enthusiasm. So nice to see these days. Thank you again.

Cathy, I agree with everything you wrote, I believe that beyond their undeniable skill, we fans particularly like their way of acting, they don’t hide if they have emotions or if they want to hug, they are really natural and what a laugh afterwards.” La Donna è Mobile”, they are just amazing.
Again Daniela & Pat – I say a humble ‘thank you’ – for brightening my day – your presentations – videos & pics are so wonderful – the songs Piero – Ignazio & Gianluca sang in this last concert were outstanding – a couple of pieces that I loved ‘Frammenti de Universo & Succede’ just beautiful – there were others – I feel privileged to listen to this music – Aren’t they stunning?? – Daniela & Pat one thing I feel anxious about – I saw Piero yelling & I mean yelling at Gianluca at the second concert while they were walking through the Arena singing ‘Heres to You’ – Gianluca immediately afterwards was on stage to sing ‘Capolavoro’ when he burst into tears – my heart went out to Gianluca as he is a very sensitive lad with a gentle heart – I know things can go wrong at any concert or a live show at a moment’s notice – but when the cameras are rolling – Piero needs to be careful – everyone has cameras on their mobiles – so nothing is missed these boys are so good – we do not need disharmony to spoil things – because it will be picked up by the cameras & magnified – I don’t know whether anyone else saw that incident – I know some people have mentioned they sense a tension between Piero & Gianluca – I hope whatever it is they put it to rest as we all love both Piero & Gianluca very much – love you & Pat Daniela – have a restful weekend.

I repeat the same thing to you too. Ursula, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca love each other. Don’t tie yourself to small moments that may also be due to the stress of the concert, remember that they are always under the lens of the cameras and as already stated several times they are genuine. Even when they make the gags where it seems like they are scolding Gianluca, it’s all done to make people laugh. To a very specific question asked by a friend of mine to the father of one of the three, the answer was that Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca love each other very much, not to doubt this.
So Jude, before answering you I wanted to go and review that specific moment you are talking about after Here’s to you in the second evening and in the Canale 5 video I didn’t see anything, so I went to scroll through the various videos on YouTube and I didn’t nothing detected, so you should at least tell me what video it is because you’ve intrigued me.
However, on the second evening I was present in the Arena and I didn’t witness anything you’re telling me about and I can assure you that between one song and another the boys call each other, sometimes if one forgets that they have to start from one side, the others do so. they call, but often it also happens that they help each other, I saw Piero bring a stool to Gianluca on stage, perhaps the stool had been forgotten by the stage assistant, but Piero went to help. In short, I mean don’t focus on the whole. I assure you that Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio love each other very much.

It’s true Pamela, there are a lot of concerts this year, they also continue to add side events, but I think it’s within their strengths.
Ignazio will definitely get married during one of the break periods and I’m sure that she will then follow him on tour.
I also hope that Piero will be able to perform his opera enytro this year, but I assure you that he will be greatly hindered by the purist Italian lyricists, but he will continue his way, as he always has.

J’étais aux 4 concerts a Vérone c’était magique ! Les concerts ont durés entre 3h15mn et le troisième 3h45 mn et on ne voyait aucune fatigue sur les visages !J’ai adoré le 4eme concert avec les chansons anciennes et leur dernier album je me suis régalée !Le déplacement valait le coup , on étaient 3 amies venues de France et on a pas regretté le déplacement !Merci beaucoup Daniela pour ce bel article ,dommage qu’on ne se soient pas vus a Vérone !
In the video Opera I was reading comments and someone commented that Gian has to tap Piero shoulder to remind him he is also there as Piero was just facing Ignazio only.
Very alarming comments
“The moment at 2:11 is why I have a problem these days with watching Il Volo. Why are Piero and Ignazio leaving Gian aside? Did you guys notice that Gian had to tap Piero’s back to remind him that he is also there? WHY does he need to do this? It’s a trio. Piero and Ignazio need to include Gian more. The inequality is starting to get very noticeable. Especially by Gianluca fans. We do not want to watch a “duo” and a third outsider. We want equal treatment.”
And there were replies that said they noted that behavior.
Another excellent report on all four concerts, you must be exhausted Daniela and it looks like you are in for a very busy summer and fall as they just keep adding dates. Just saw today where they are going to be in England, that is going to make a lot of fans happy. Piero and Ignazio have been close since the very beginning and Gian was shy and a little laid back. I did see this incident but Piero and Ignazio just got carried away singing and I did feel bad for Gian but I really don’t think they did it on purpose. Several times during the concerts I see them wave to Gianluca to join them. Can’t wait for them for announce the US dates, I will be heartbroken if South Florida is not on that list. Many thanks to you guys for what I know is a lot of work but we really do appreciate you.
