Unfortunately it’s all true, the terrible news is making the rounds on fan pages all over the world, Barbara Vitali has left us.
We still can’t get over the sad news, Barbara, the sweet tour manager who always followed Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca step by step since the first days has left us.
The announcement was made by Il Volo with these sad and poignant words:

historic collaborator Barbara Vitali.
Barbara passed away last night
at the Sant’Orsola Hospital in Bologna
following the tragic accident in which she was involved in on Sunday 7 July.

A tragic car accident, Sunday evening near Bologna, it was 8:00 p.m. Barbara was driving her Fiat 500 car. For reasons still under investigation, the car driven by a 49-year-old man and the car of Barbara, 54, had a head-on collision. The man died immediately, Barbara was transported by helicopter to the hospital in Bologna but she had very serious injuries, last night she finally left us.

Ciao Barbara, for 15 long years you were the lighthouse, the point of reference for our kids, always present and punctual, alongside Michele Torpedine, we shared the trips, the evenings, the concerts together, we shared together the joys that the guys with their great work and their great talent they gave us, the void you leave is unbridgeable, there will always be a special place for you in the hearts of all of us!

Her warmth and openness struck me then, and today filled my heart with sadness and eyes with tears.
I truly cannot imagine the depth of sadness and disbelief in our guys.

Ich habe es vorhin auf Facebook gelesen und bin total geschockt. Es tut mir so sehr leid. Sie war doch bestimmt auch so eine Art Mutterersatz damals, als Gianluca, Piero und Ignazio noch so jung waren. Ich tröste mich ein bisschen damit, dass sie diese wundervollen Jungens so lange Zeit begleiten durfte und bestimmt viele Erlebnisse mit ihnen teilen konnte. Es hat bestimmt viele glückliche Momente gegeben.
Ich hoffe, dass es Barbara dort, wo sie jetzt ist, gut geht und dass die Jungens den Schmerz überstehen und aushalten können. Auch ihnen drücke ich ganz fest die Daumen. Ich fühle so sehr mit ihnen.

I read this message two hours ago on the Sicilia Fanpage and I was shocked. At first I didn’t want to believe it and thought it was fake… Unfortunately, I can imagine the sadness of our boys, how much it affected them, because Michele and Barbara were like second parental figures to them. They have spent half their lives with them and will surely be missed immensely. Now it can be said that the boys are watched over by two angels, Vito and Barbara. Sincere condolences to all. My guess is that the concert will take place and will be dedicated from the heart to the person everyone loved.
I am in complete shock at this horrific news. I first met Barbara in Atlanta in 2019. I remember saying hi Barbara, my name is also Barbara. She said you have a beautiful name and I said so do you. I met her again in New York on their last tour. I was with my granddaughters and I had purchased the wrong ticket for the meet and greet. While we were waiting for the security guard to straighten things out, Barbara showed up at the top of the stairs. She asked me what was wrong and I explained. She left for a couple of minutes and came back and told the guard that she was escorting all three of us down to the meet and greet. Barbara was very lovely and a very kind person. I will never forget what she did that night. My sincere condolences to her family and to the entire IL Volo family. She will be missed beyond words. Now Barbara will fly with the angels 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

I met her once after June 13, 2014 concert. The boys sang happy birthday to her from stage. She was a few rows behind us with Eleonora Ginoble. She translated for me for Eleonora at Meet and greet after show. Indeed a kind, memorable woman.
Yes, anyone that had met her feels a deep sadness and she was truly their 2nd mother while on tour when they were younger.
Ah, but the show must go on! I’m sure the guys will dedicate and honor her in some way at a concert.

What can I say? I was devastated reading the news not being able to believe it was true… It is just so sad and meaningless. She was such a nice person. I have had a couple of kind meais from her. The guys must be heartbroken – she was like a second “mother” and practically family to them. They are pro though so I am sure they will go through with the upcoming concert, however, no doubt dedicating it to her not letting anyone in doubt of how much she meant to them and how much she shall be missed. My heart and warm feelings go out to her family, Piero, Ignazio, Gianluca, Michele Torpedine and the entire IL VOLO family.

Daniela, so sad to learn of the passing of Barbara, she will be sorely missed by all in the Il Volo family. She was the guys second mother , when they were so young, and needed help and guidance when their own true family was not to hand. Piero once described Barbara as an Aunt to them. Their mothers along with fathers traveled many years with them on tours. No need for 2nd mother or parent. The 3 have very tight strong families who have always been and will continue to be on hand for them.

I remember attending a June 13, 2014 concert where the boys sang Happy Birthday to her from stage. She was sitting a few rows behind us with Eleonora Ginoble. Afterwards she translated for me to Eleonora at a memorable meet and greet.
Such a beautiful and kind person, always keeping things going and the guys right on place, just like a second mom for sure! She’ll be missed by so many…it’s devastating, sorrow in my heart! A new angel was born today and will guide our young men further from above. No more worries, Barbarina, RIP!

It is hard to understand why people are taken from us, but let us find comfort in knowing we were a special part of such a well-lived life. When the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange, Barbara is the legacy of love. God is always in our corner at a time like this, it will soften the edges and ease our burden, take heart.
So heartbreaking for the Il Volo family. While Barbara is no longer here they have not lost her for she will always be in their hearts and I believe she will be looking out for them from heaven. I hope they find peace and Barbara RIP 🌹❤️

I had a single moment with her on an autograph I eished to have. She went inside and Michele came , signed and exchanged some words. A moment I will never forget and will be forever grateful to her. In Zurich 2023

I read Eleonora’s post this morning on Instagram, and this stayed with me all day, she was their beacon, as young unknowns to us and the world ahead of them. She gave them structure, love and a sense of family. She instilled in them all good things, and in a small way, helped them to embrace the talent and brotherhood they share today. Rest in peace Barb, and we know without a doubt your love will always shine down on them.

There are no words to describe how we all felt about Barbara. She was one in a million and our young men were kept safe in her loving hands. She was so thoughtful and kind to the Il Volo fans, especially the older ones like me. It was such a tragic end to her life. May her memory be eternal.

The flight crew has had Barbara in our lives from the beginning. How do I let go of this loved “family” member? I don’t know yet. It is so personal. My prayers to all who feel this loss so deeply.
