IL VOLO TOUR 2025: ROMA – EBOLI – BARI- MESSINA by Daniela

The tour stop was highly anticipated in the Italian capital.
The beautiful reviews and enthusiastic words of the people who attended the first concerts had led the way and Rome was joyfully awaiting Il Volo.

January 21: ROME

The concert was held in the Palazzo dello Sport.

Great success for the Roman leg of the tour: “Tutti per uno – Ad Astra live”.
Perfect synthesis of vocal power, passion, desire to give oneself completely to the public and to have fun, as only a few can do, in the name of the friendship that has accompanied them since they were children.
Today they are men, united by talent and the desire to continue growing, always facing new challenges, such as the new tour in Italian arenas “Tutti Per Uno – Ad Astra Live”.
Yesterday evening, January 21st, the Roman stage brought back to the stage of the Capital, after the summer success of the Baths of Caracalla, the unique voices of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, accompanied by the “Franciacorta” Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Edmondo Moses Savio.
Together in a perfect harmony of music and words.
Five large screens act as a backdrop. They punctuated with suggestive visuals a show enriched by lasers and plays of lights. A show within a show lasting over two hours.
On the stage of the Palazzo dello Sport for Il Volo the opportunity to celebrate 16 years of career, and the beginning was immediately a “masterpiece”.
Very rich lineup, with Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca who alternated performances together with moments as soloists, each bringing their own identity and personality.
They performed the songs from their first album of unreleased songs “Ad Astra”, such as the latest single “Tra le onde”. There was no shortage of great tributes, from Elton John to Claudio Villa, from Frank Sinatra to Simon & Gurfunkel. Emotion and shivers among the audience during the touching interpretation of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”.
Between applause and standing ovations, the trio also joked with the fans and sought their embrace, getting off the stage and immersing themselves in the crowd, with smiles and selfies. But everything always with their feet on the ground, without forgetting the origins, the beginnings and a heartfelt thank you to their manager, Michele Torpedine, who was also in the audience, under stage, listening to them. Then the heart-pounding grand finale with “Grande Amore”, the winning song of Sanremo in 2015. And Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca greet the Roman public with gratitude and with the promise of returning to the capital soon.
And now a series of photos by our friend Keisyuu who was enchanted by the concert!!

January 23 EBOLI

The concert is at Palasele.
We are in the province of Salerno, therefore in the Neapolitan area.
In this very famous area it is the “Neapolitan pastiera”, a typical dessert.

Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio fell from the sky tonight and tasted our masterpiece.🫠
What can I say, the guys certainly appreciated it!! 😋😋😋
Present at the concert was RADIO CITTA 105 which filmed and broadcast several videos of the show.
The show begins with two songs sung by Cecile who positions herself in front of the long black cloth, she sings with backing tracks, therefore without an orchestra. After Cecile’s two songs, the orchestra enters and positions itself, the Il Volo concert begins.

This report aired on SUD TV which I translated for you is also very nice.

Over two hours of great live music accompanied by the orchestra and special lighting effects, amidst the applause and hugs of the Campania public who filled the Palasele di Eboli last night for the highly anticipated Il Volo concert. The musical trio of young Italian tenors, winners of the Sanremo Festival, sang all the songs that characterized the success of their careers, presenting their latest great recording work AD ASTRA.
A European tour which last night included a stop in Eboli where the singer Cecile opened the concert, giving the go-ahead and assisting the great music of the trio: Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble.
“A path that will take us towards the stars”, said the three tenors from the stage as they presented the songs from the new album.
A great musical success last night which was fully booked at the Palasele in Eboli, thanks to the unique voice of the three tenors, in an event organized by Anni60 productions and which saw the general public singing and getting excited with one of the greatest and most important Italian musical groups in the world: Il Volo!
And ANNI 60 Production published these beautiful photos with this comment:
The enchantment of @ilvolomusic at the @palasele_official. ✨
The intertwining of their magnetic and powerful voices and the warmth of the Campania public will remain in the hearts of those who were there. ❤️

What a treasure this child is holding a sign that says:

IL GLADIATORE

A medley and photos from Vurro Concerti, who posted this comment:
“A unique show full of emotions and talent ✨ Il Volo at the PalaFlorio in Bari.”
and Telebari published this nice review which I translate:
IL VOLO TRIUMPHS IN BARI WITH AN IMPECCABLE CONCERT. THE TRIO INVITES A CHILD TO DUET WITH THEM.
In recent months the concert calendar at the Palaflorio in Bari has been as rich as ever. Laura Pausini, Alessandra Amoroso, Tananai met and thrilled their target audience.
But when the three former child prodigies of the song, Il Volo, appeared on the bill, the opportunity arose to understand who their audience was.
And already from the early hours of the afternoon yesterday, January 24, near the sports hall of the Apulian capital, it was clear how varied the parterre of the fantastic three was.
Conservatory professors who have seen a boom in enrollments thanks to the “Volo phenomenon”, students hoping to pass their university exams after meeting their favorites, families who have found in Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio a common thread that could allow them to share an event of music and magic.
The portion of “no longer little girls” is particularly large but they have not put away their desire to sing at the top of their lungs; binoculars in hand, hoping to encounter a languid glance in one eye or a wink from another.
Two hours of impeccable show, not a false note, not a word out of place.
Thanks to the experience with the rock star stylist Nick Cerioni, the looks are very refined: shirt collars embellished with Swarovski crystals, studded Louboutins on the feet and slicked hair.
Solo performances alternate with the classic lineup, there is no shortage of Sanremo hits as well as homages to great artists on the world music scene, from Frank Sinatra to Queen, from Leonard Cohen to Franco Battiato.
Laser lights and LED videos accompany the unreleased songs from the album “Ad Astra”.
Puglia is generous and gives flowers, posters, hearts and many standing ovations.
The boys appreciate and pay homage to their historic manager Michele Torpedine (from Minervino Murge – Puglia), they are attentive to their youngest fans so much so that they notice the yellow-red sign of little Alessio Lapertosa, who begs to be able to duet with them, and the dream ends come true.
A world tour awaits the three boys of pop-classical music. The world acclaims them, Italy snubs them a bit, loves them a bit.
A little we would like to see them more uninhibited and spontaneous, like when they allowed us to play with their looks in Sanremo.
A really good article, even if I don’t agree with the ending, when he writes that Italy “would like them to be a little more uninhibited and spontaneous”…….I don’t understand what he means, or rather I understand that journalists believe that Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are perfect and would like to see some flaws in them, such as some false words or some bad words… these journalists really don’t understand that Il Volo is like that, simple and not at all set, but still polite and never over the top and this is certainly not what makes them less spontaneous, on the contrary!!!! Many rude kids should take example from this way of behaving!! 😉

January 26th MESSINA

How wonderful is this video of Piero among the people while he sings Vicinissimo. Adorable!!!
He sees his nieces, daughters of a cousin, Calogero, and Piero spoke to us about them in an interview, saying that he adores the little girls. He picks them up while singing!!! Piero’s grandmother and mother can be seen next to the granddaughters. Piero’s cousin posted this video with this comment:
“You are great, our pride…..and our little ones love you with the same intensity that you love them.❤️ We love you very much ❤️”
The mayor of Messina, Federico Basile posted this comment:
“🎶✨ Il Volo enchants PalaRescifina🎤
This evening the “Il Volo” concert gave unique emotions and unforgettable moments to all those present.
an administration, we are constantly committed to offering citizens and tourists from other cities events of great artistic and cultural value.
The objective is to promote Messina, while stimulating the development of the local economy and the tourist enhancement of the area.
In this way, we proudly strengthen the Messina, City of Music and Events brand.”
So the tour of the Italian arenas ended in the best possible way and I am extremely happy about it.
The newspaper articles that wrote well-deserved praise for Il Volo were also beautiful.
There is less than a month left until the start of Sanremo and the promos announcing the event are running on Italian television and here’s what you will surely appreciate!!
Speaking of Sanremo, I had already announced that Il Volo will feature a duet with Clara on the Cover evening on February 14th.
But now there is some more news, the song they will perform together has been announced and it is THE SOUND OF SILENCE, how exciting, I can’t wait!!
I’ve finished updating you on these last few days, but there’s one more piece of news, on Tuesday 28th January Il Volo will be at LE IENE, in the program TRAVELING WITH IL VOLO, there will be fun!!

And I’m done with this, but I’ll see you very soon!!!

Thanks from Gianluca

Another page has ended, and with it the Italian tour. I carry within me a mix of sensations and emotions that are difficult to describe. What does it mean to go on stage every night, in front of thousands of people? It is a journey that goes beyond voice and singing: it is an exchange, a ritual. The energy that is concentrated in a place is transformed into something palpable. You absorb it, keep it, make it yours, only to return it in a different, more intense, more alive form. Giving yourself completely, to the point of losing yourself, and then finding yourself in the emotion of those who listen to you: this is the greatest lesson I have learned in all these years of my career.
Being an artist is not pure ego, but transcendence. It is not just the desire to assert oneself or leave a personal mark, but an act of connection. It is building a bridge towards the universal, a space in which the boundary between the individual and the collective dissolves. Art, perhaps, is precisely this: a reflection of our ego, but also an attempt to overcome it, seeking what unites us, what makes us human.
Thank you all for being part of this process, for your presence which allows me to dig deeply, within myself and within us. Together, every evening, we created something that goes beyond words. This is the true gift.
Gianluca

  2. Beautiful “report “, Daniela. You always capture the essence of our guys. Thank you so much. God bless Il Volo as they move on to other venues. May they always be happy and safe!!!❤️❤️❤️

  3. Pat and Daniela, excellent as always
In the Telebari review I noticed the comment about professors in conservatories. That there has been a boom in enrollments they attribute to IL Volo. I don’t know if IL Volo have been encouraging young people to be serious about their education or if it’s just because they like their music.
Wouldn’t it be lovely if more kids become interested in serious music?

    1. I haven‘t read everything yet. I am so happy that Clara and Gianluca will sing „Sound of silence“ together. Gian and Clara is the best Duett and the song is one of my favorite songs. Full of emotions. I‘m looking forward to listen to it❤️

      1. I think all 3 Il volo men will sing with Clara. I loved the song Gianluca and Clara sang last year. She winked at him and he smiled

      2. I’m very happy with this news too, Ursula, I just hope that the quartet works well, that song is wonderful!!

    2. Thanks Gail! 😊 I have always loved music and have sung in school choirs since I was in grade school…….and now in my church choir for over 30 years. Music just lifts my soul and brings me peace. 😀💗

    3. Yes Gail, I noticed that phrase too and I must tell you that Il volo with their determination to have their genre of music listened to, undoubtedly helps young people who are inclined towards bel canto and classical music, to not have doubts about the their choices!!

  4. The concerts are beautiful. I think the words from SUD TV said it all. They are one off the greatest and most important Italian musical groups in the world. And Gianluca is so good at expressing his feelings and emotions. It is so great to be able to see all the concerts. Thank you Daniela.

    1. Cathy, what can I say, finally the articles and reviews are giving the deserved results, I just hope that it is not a happy moment, but that the Italian press has finally understood the value of these young men. They suffered a lot from the bad words that were always directed at them, they had the power to destroy their careers, but Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca proved they were strong!!

  5. It is unbelievable that time after time you take us to these wonderful concerts, filling our desire for more ,Il Volo give there all.of course they have to have rehearsals but they are always spontaneous on stage with their banter and react to things off stage. Some Italian journalists do not appreciate their appeal to all ages.I finely saw them in London where I was surrounded by other nationalities (I made a friend from Brazil) I hope they come back to one of our Arenas preferably in the North so more English fans can see their Masterpieces. Thanks a Milllion, Hazel.xxx xxx

    1. Hazel, I’m so happy you got to see them in concert.
Thank you for the nice compliments.
I have just finished translating LE IENE, there will be many things to read and you will certainly learn even more about our boys..

      1. Ich bin sehr gespannt auf die Übersetzung und die Reaktionen auf die Sendung. Ich habe mir einen Teil davon übersetzt. Es ist sehr mutig, so offen über Persönliches und Intimes zu sprechen.

  6. Wonderful reading. Thanks again so very much Daniela and Pat for keeping us so well informed and up-to-date with everything Il Volo. No need to look anywhere else – we are just pampered with the best info and transla-tions.

And I can only repeat myself – the guys are riding on a wave of success beyond expectations. Going from the one fantastic concert to the next receiving standing ovations and great love from the audiences as never before. And more important than anything: “They are praised and recognized in wonderful reviews and lovely interviews by the Italian music environment”. Finally, harvesting the fruits of all their hard work, dedication and endless efforts. I am indeed so happy on their behalf. So well deserved <3. Their goals and strategies to capture the love of the Italian people – the old as well as younger crowds – have been fully archived. IL VOLO Version 2,00 has passed the test.

Now it does only remain to be seen how they will go about their upcoming oversea sections of their World Tour. Will they keep the new younger more flashy and pop-related concept of their concerts – or will they transform them into more international editions with more standard tunes in the English language, less Ad Astra and more Bel Canto? Will they once again adapt to a different market and the expectations of the audiences of same? In-teresting. They have previously proven that they are pure chameleons when it comes to this. No matter what I do sincerely hope that their present success will follow them across the Atlantic and that the Americans will flock to the concert halls and fill them to the brims. I spur that smaller venues have been chosen for the upcoming USA Tour – maybe as the result of the less filled concert halls last time and people from the balcony rows having to be moved to the ground floor to give a more sold-out effect. I.e. at The Fox Theatre in Detroit which, however, is likewise on the venue list this time. I pray that the PR-efforts will have been strengthened in this respect and the theatre this time will be filled with enthusiastic fans to lift the roof. I have noted that they have gotten a new PR-agent and hopefully they have managed to get them on a lot of TV-shows to promote the tour. It has worked in Italy so very well so far, so I am trustful that it will work in the US as well. Meanwhile, I wish them some restful weeks at home to unwind and prepare well for the trip.

Finally, oh that dear Gianluca. Deep and loving thoughts from his end once again. He speaks his heart – and it is so absolutely outstanding that he wishes to share his inner feelings with his fans. I commend him. He seems to be more confident and happy than for a long time – maybe finally having found himself and accepted who he is and what he stands for. He has always had a mysterious impact on me – he seems to have so many layers and facets – he fascinates me. Only at times I wish he wouldn’t be so open – as this world is, unfortunately, not a very great place these days. So much evil abounds – and I fear that his somewhat naive and gullible trust in man will hit him as a boomerang one day. He is so vulnerable and can so easily be taken advantage of… I pray that the people surrounding him in the daily are aware and will make sure that he is given the utmost protection at all times. I do still have people like i.e. John Lennon in mind…. Nothing like this must never, ever happen again. So in all honesty I look forward to him and the guys being well back home again from their American adventure, while I wish them a successful and fantastic experience.

Enough rambling from me today. Warmest regards – Kirsten, Denmark

    1. Liebe Kirsten, danke für deine ausführliche Mail und deine Gedanken zu Gianluca. Ich wünsche ihm, dass sein großes Herz nicht ausgenutzt wird. Ina

    2. You’re most welcome, Kirsten! 💗 I hope the guys keep a lot of the upbeat music that I have seen them perform in Italy. Here they always seem to go to the smaller concert hall type venues maybe because of the reason you stated. There is a beautiful one in Kansas City, Missouri named Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. I have been there to listen to the Messiah at Christmas time. The whole center itself is not small but the hall I was in was smaller and it would be perfect for the guys! I also appreciated Gianluca’s thank you. It was so heartfelt and thoughtful.

      1. Love Gianluca s thank you . He is so sweet and handsome. He also is great with fans and his standup to women being harassed and when Abruzzo when there was an earthquake there. Thank God he is safe. Happy birthday to Gianluca on the 11th. Mine is the 25 of February. ❤️🎂❤️🎂❤️🎂

    3. Thanks Kirsten for the compliments, it’s true that version 2.0 of Il Volo has largely passed the test, here in Italy their latest concerts have certainly left their mark in every sense.

I’m sure the concert lineup for U.S. it will be different, the guys themselves have always said this, so we expect more bel canto but certainly also the introduction of some songs from Ad Astra. However, let us be amazed by their choices and their spontaneity.
I too hope that the concert venues chosen for the American tour are full and that there is a good and deep promotion for Il Volo and I have to tell you that the staff seems to me to be working harder in this sense lately and I’m happy about it .

Gianluca is a treasure and in the interview with LE IENE he will amaze you further, he is truly a kind and sincere soul and I hope that no one dares to harm him.

  7. Kirsten, I love your referring to them as chameleons. It’s true.
As an American i also worry about them touring here due to the prevalence of gun violence.

    1. I agree, Gail. I even worry a bit about them in Europe with people crowding around them, though not so much about guns, thank heavens. And they must have terrific immune systems the way they mix and mingle, yet don’t seem to get any of the bugs that are going around now.

  8. So many photos, videos and interviews to help us try to catch up with our peripatetic guys–thanks, ladies! I especially love the interview translations, Daniela–except I was a bit confused by Telebari’s. It was wonderfully glowing until the end, so I have to say if this post is an example of Italy snubbing them a BIT and loving them a BIT–I think they need their eyes and ears examined! Plus I never thought I would ever hear anyone say that they needed to be more uninhibited and spontaneous–with Ignazio one third of the group!!😂

    1. Thanks Judi, as you read, I too had some disagreements about the ending of Telebari’s beautiful article! Unfortunately it is true that in Italy Il Volo is a little loved and a little snubbed, precisely because of the bad words that the newspapers have always written about them and the wrong image they have given. Everyone who knew them personally then recognized the spontaneity and humility of these guys. Being more uninhibited, unfortunately, means bordering on rudeness and vulgarity, things that are very fashionable here among young people!!

      1. Maybe this comment of his about spontaneity comes from his belief that their stage presence is all an act. Maybe he thinks they are just pretending to be the nice guys they really are! Maybe his problem is he can’t believe such genuine, caring, humble guys are for real. In any case it is his problem, we know the young men from the very beginning and know that what we see is who they are.

  9. Liebe Daniela, liebe Pat,

    1. Yes I love the posts, music videos and every one is perfect in their own way. Love them forever ❤️

    2. Ich freue mich, dass dir unsere Beiträge gefallen, Margit. 😊 Und ich stimme Ihnen in Bezug auf Gianluca zu … seine Auftritte haben so viel Gefühl.

I am glad you like our posts, Margit. 😊 And I agree with you about Gianluca….his performances have so much feeling.

    3. Liebe Margit,

      Dear Margit,
I am happy that our articles are interesting for you and I thank you for the compliments.
Absolutely Gianluca is a very sweet boy, polite, with a noble soul and very much in love with love in all its forms, he is truly a rare pearl.

  10. Thank you Daniela and Pat for this very extensive look into the recent concerts in Italy. They seem to have captured the hearts of the Italian people if not all of the journalists. Loved all the photos and songs and review translations. You keep us so informed and up to date on these special guys. I always look forward to your posts!

    1. Janet, thanks for the compliments.
The tour was certainly very well received by people and journalists are realizing the undeniable skill of Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca.
Soon we will publish the translation of LE IENE and you will be amazed by some of our guys’ answers, don’t miss it!!

  11. Thanks again, dear ladies, for another great posting. Our three wonders continue to amaze us with their voices, talent and stamina! Where do they get all this energy? Must be the good Italian food and fresh air. They never seem to slow down or be fatigued by their strenuous concert dates.

I just may have to break down and join Facebook because I couldn’t open the video without a password. A friend of mine has been trying to get me to join for over twenty years, but Il Volo just might be the catalyst! I hate to miss out on anything having to do with them. Love them so much, especially our deep-thinking Gianluca. He is certainly a treasure. 🧡🧡🧡
    Thanks again. Hugs, Dol. 💕💕

    1. You’re welcome, Dolores! 😊 I have to say that I joined Instagram in 2017 because of IL VOLO! 😄 I was already on Facebook.

    2. Dear Dolores, in reality I too wonder how Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca manage to sustain such intense rhythms, but perhaps the last interview I translated, the one from LE IENE, will explain to you a little how these three guys manage to maintain their forces.
I’m sorry that you can’t see the Facebook videos, unfortunately many times there aren’t the relevant videos on YouTube, sorry.

      1. No need to apologize, Daniela. You and Pat give me more than I could honestly expect. I can open some of the Facebook entries, but not all. Will have to be content with that! Hugs, Dol 🧡🧡🧡
