We have reached the third and final appointment from Mantua for the concerts of Il Volo VIAGGIO NEL TEMPO.
This concludes the trilogy of concerts filmed by Canale 5 and which this year had Palazzo Te as their location.

The preview of the evening begins with Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio in the rooms of the beautiful Palazzo Te and precisely the Sala Dei Giganti, a beautiful room completely frescoed, enveloping and astonishing, also notable the frescoed ceiling and the geometry of the floor. Splendid!

The concert starts with the wonderful THE FINAL COUNTDOWN by Europe, which we listened to all three nights as an opener! 🤩
The first great guest of the evening is introduced immediately, the very talented Giorgia.
She is one of the most appreciated and successful Italian female singers, also because she has a fantastic voice.
In 1995 Giorgia won Sanremo with the song “Come saprei”, her manager at the time was Michele Torpedine.
Last year she co-hosted one of the concerts TUTTI PER UNO.
This performance by Giorgia is part of the second evening I attended and in the editing it was placed in the third.
Giorgia begins by singing in duet with Gianluca her song ORO NERO (2016).❤️
She continues in duet with Piero on his beautiful song QUANDO UNA STELLA MUORE (2013)❤️
The duets end with Ignazio together singing the beautiful song by Giorgia DI SOLE E D’AZZURRO (2001) which reaches particularly high notes. Gorgeous!❤️
At the end of the duets:
IGNAZIO= But can’t you sing a little more low-key songs?
GIORGIA= In fact, I’m very happy to have finally found someone who gives me a hand and what a hand, and it’s beautiful to hear your voices on my songs, your beautiful voices.

Then Piero remembers that the night before they had dinner with Giorgia and stayed until 2:30 a.m. laughing and joking, this to underline that there is a great friendship between them.
At the end Gianluca asks Giorgia to sing her last song that she presented at Sanremo this year, the beautiful LA CURA PER ME (2025), 😍 and together with Il Volo she performs the final chorus!
We continue in style with a splendid solo by Ignazio, the song is from 1975.
IGNAZIO= 1975 is the year in which it was released, I dare say it bluntly, one of the most revolutionary songs in the history of rock, you all know it.
The wonderful BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY by the Queen begins. ❤️
Wow, what a voice Ignazio, what a pathos-filled interpretation!
And on with another beautiful duet, this time it’s Piero with Arisa, a good singer that we have already seen together with Il Volo singing in the basilica of Assisi in 2013.
The song they propose is in Neapolitan, written and sung by Modugno, published in 1964, TU SI NA COSA GRANDE. What power of voices!! 😍
Piero’s words:
“I’m very happy, I’m for two reasons, the first is that I’m about to perform one of the most famous Neapolitan songs, and the second is that I’ll be able to do it with one of the sweetest and most elegant voices of Italian song.

It’s time to call the evening’s co-host on stage. She is Spanish, but when she was little she moved to Italy (1999), she is a nice and beautiful presenter and also an established television actress: VANESSA INCONTRADA.
Vanessa performs a skit where she pretends not to know Il Volo and has prepared three indications to help her understand which of the three she is talking about.
Card 1 = He is a male singer, he is part of the group Il Volo, and he won the Sanremo festival in 2015 (this applies to all three) 😂😂
Card 2 = He is very elegant and always dressed in black. (this also applies to all three) 😂😂
Card 3 = He has a tenor voice and wears glasses (we finally recognize Piero) 😂🥰
The concert continues with Il Volo performing the ever-beautiful GRANDE AMORE (2015). 😍
Il Volo continues together interpreting the ever beautiful and timeless song written by Dalla in 1986: CARUSO 😍
I’ve heard many versions of this song sung by various singers, but the way Il Volo performs it is wonderful!
The sweetest moment of the evening has arrived, Ignazio reads some words he wrote dedicating them to his baby on the way, Gabriele.
“You know, many of you know that I will soon become a father (applause), it has always been my desire to be a father.
But before being a father my desire was really to be able to meet my other half, and it is not easy.
Then when you find yourself meeting her, wanting to share your whole life with her, you get married, and there are a lot of married people here tonight, right? (applause) You have not regretted it, have you?
Here, I think that being a dad is a great gift, it is a great fortune and I will succeed, it will be beautiful, I am really excited and I thought of writing a little letter that I will take and read if I manage to finish it, and it is short too……and it says like this:
My dear son, (applause) I don’t know what it will be like to receive the most precious gift that life will give me, I don’t know what it will be like when I am too far away to wake you up in the morning to tell you that I love you.

Another guest enters, she is Alessandra Amoroso, a good Italian singer who shares the same joy as Ignazio for the arrival of a baby, she will soon be a mother.
Together they sing a beautiful song by Stevie Wonder: ISN’T SHE LOVELY released in 1976. 😍
Also on the evening of the concert I attended, this beautiful introduction by Ignazio to the song was made but he sang it solo and not as a duet with Alessandra.
While they sing, Alessandra Amoroso’s growing belly is evident, she also says that hers will be a girl and will be called Penelope and states that she has only one week of gestation difference with Michelle. The happiness of Ignazio and Alessandra who will be future parents is evident!! Congratulations! 💙🧡
Ignazio jokingly says that when he found out his baby was a boy he said to Alessandra: “You see, I’m making you your boyfriend, eh. (meaning Penelope). A good match, a good boy, raised well, from a good family with good values, and then we also get along, so!!”😂😂

It’s time for Gianluca’s first solo, who with his warm and deep voice performs a beautiful song by Battiato E TI VENGO A CERCARE (1988) 🥰

It’s time for a young Italian singer: Stash (actually he’s 35 so he’s older than our guys) who is part of a very well-known trio in Italy, The Kolors.
Ignazio says that he and Stash are great lovers of Pino Daniele, of whom, together, they perform A ME PIACE “O BLUES” (1980). 🥰
Then Ignazio leaves the stage and the other two members of The Kolors enter and the group performs a medley of their most famous songs.🥰

Another sweet and emotional moment, it is 2010 and a catastrophe arrives in Haiti, in support of the hard-hit population a large group of singers including our then little Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio, brings back to the success WE ARE THE WORLD USA FOR AFRICA of 1985 which this time becomes WE ARE THE WORLD FOR HAITI.

Beppe Fiorello returns and together with Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero they give life to a moment in which they talk about certain gestures, certain moments that have become a must in films.
At the beginning, Beppe kindly wants to say something off the set list, and says that from backstage he heard the voices of Il Volo proposing songs of a certain importance but performed with extreme ease, with great naturalness, congratulations!
The game that Beppe Fiorello proposes is “time in cinema”.
How many gestures in cinema have remained indelible, explains Beppe Fiorello, for example they immediately recall the legendary movement that made Charlot immediately recognizable!
Then he remembers the run on the steps of Rocky.
Then he remembers the special movement of Spider-Man who throws the cobwebs.

What can I say, another beautiful concert that closed a trilogy of successes, wonderful songs and good guest singers.
Elegance, friendliness and cheerfulness, even the newspapers and the comments speak well of this type of entertainment and of the fact that Il Volo did not rest on its laurels but continued on its path with great success.
And the voices of our dear Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, always at the top. This time too they made us dream and the television ratings rewarded them.

When I started seeing youtube videos of this concert I was really looking for your commentary on this one.
When the US is going through such bad times it’s good for the soul to watch and listen to IL Volo concerts, and to see and read what you faithfully provide for us.
I’m curious whether Italian TV gives this much time to other artists.
It has been pointed out on this blog that IL Volo is gracious and welcoming to their guests, but I also see that some of their guests are people they have looked up to as they were growing up. I’ve noticed people from Ti Lascio Una Canzone who were established entertainers at that time.
When Ignazio started his voice lessons he mentioned Giorgia as someone he liked. And here she is!

Yes Gail, many of their Italian guests are people that they admired a lot in 2009 and now they duet with them, our guys often underline this, in particular Gianluca has a photo of him with Massimo Ranieri even before becoming a member of Il Volo and in the second concert in Mantua Massimo Ranieri sang with them!
Giorgia has always been one of the singers most admired by our guys and now she is a dear friend of theirs.
Italian television gives a lot of space to singers, especially those followed by very young people, but often they are singers who do not have great musical depth.

Hello all you lovely people! Daniela and Pat this wonderful as usual and oh the photos! I finally got to see most of the concert last night and will finish it today. These were 3 concerts I will enjoy over and over. To Gail’s point I was thrilled to see them singing with performers that they have always admired, they look to be at ease but in awe at the same time. They have truly made it!!!
It warms my heart to hear the most appropriate songs at this time and how engaged our 3 are in empathy for our broken world. It’s so disheartening to know how relevant these beautiful songs are today. Their singing them feels like a light!

It IS amazing how far they have come. I’ve been noticing how Gianluca performs with such grace. At the start he was so awkward with his gestures. At the beginning they all were so nervous they couldn’t stand still.
Their voices have become so amazing. I was wrong in my previous comments about Piero singing Pour Quoi MI Reveille. I remembered being so impressed with him.
But that song didn’t come close to what he is able to do now.

I’m just curious. You seem to describe Piero and Ignazio’s solo’s with great joy. With Gianluca, you seem to say very little about his beautiful voice. I for one, love Gianluca’s beautiful baritone voice and when he sings in English, I love it even more.

Jeanne, I suspect the slights we sense toward our favorites are more imagined than real, no insult intended to you. I am always annoyed that Piero seems to get a short ‘beautiful song, beautiful voice’ comment, then a paragraph waxing poetically about Gianluca. It doesn’t help that Piero is generally incommunicado, so there is relatively little discussion about his whereabouts. In all honesty, I think Daniela truly does an outstanding job in keeping us informed of Il Volo’s activities and spreads the videos and compliments appropriately and equally. The guys are all outstanding!
Daniela thanks as always for your updates; I rarely come out of my introverted corner to comment, but am always anxious for your next bit of news. One thing I really appreciated this Tutti per Uno for was getting to hear some of the less well known performers, at least to me in the U.S. Anisa and Malika Ayane, for example, sang beautiful older songs as duets with Piero, and the guys also sang songs unknown to me as duets. Was this in part due to the smaller scale of this year’s Tutti?
Thank you for noticing that I try to give space to all three of our beloved guys.
Everyone has their favorite, it’s normal, and when I’m writing or posting photos I try to be careful not to put more photos of one or the other or write more words for one or the other because, as you say, we fans are touchy about who we prefer. Honestly I don’t want to take anything away from any of the three, I really like them all, each has their own style, their own character, a unique voice and when they are united they are the best there is.
This year you have heard many unknown songs because their research has expanded so as not to be repetitive, as I have already said their choices are the best for us Italians because they are all songs that are part of our history. Arisa has already sung with Il Volo da Assisi at Christmas 2013 and Malika was competing in Sanremo in 2015 when Il Volo won, Malika came third!
May I ask when do we wish Piero happy birthday?

Once again thanks a million for the fine presentation of the 3rd and hence last of this year’s ”Tutti per Uno” concerts for Canale 5. And indeed – it was likewise splendid in all ways and included many lovely songs and presented a broad scope of some of the most famous and/or beloved Italian artists. And again – our guys were on top of their game and got through the long show flawless, enthusiastic and displaying great warmth to all the invited guests making them feel welcome.
And it was indeed likewise great to re-see the performances with Georgia that in reality was the opening act at the Saturday Show at which my husband and I were present. I enjoyed her singing with each of the guys, which was a fine gesture to her.
There were many good songs and guest duets in this show which I believe did also feature a bit more of the IL VOLO core repertoire and hence more familiar to me. The duet with Mario Biondi – also taken from the Saturday Show – was rather awesome than beautiful though… but I was delighted to see him invited again. I was surprised though that he did only have this one song, as if I got it right, he belongs to one of the most famous Italian artists, so it would only have been natural to give him a bit extra time in similarity with Georgia. And I recall him dueting with Ignazio one of the previous years which was really great. There got to be a reason. I could, however, have done without the extra song by the famous rock-trio, not really my cup of tea – but yet again an IL VOLO concert is always a mix of genres and hence, I am sure other people in the audience have been delighted.
My favorite duet at this show was Gianluca with Clara. Their collaboration has indeed born fruit and they both seemed thoroughly to enjoy singing this pretty love-song together. They suit each other really well.
Bringing the song “We are the world” back to live came as a bit of a surprise to me. Well knowing, of course, that this was one of the first songs and performances the guys were invited to participate in when they arrived in the US way back. So no doubt it means even more to them than to us. It was the song going to heart the most at this third show. I just hadn’t seen it come – and yet – when looking back at the 3 nights and the total repertoire for same – a new picture is drawn in my mind. Each night there has been a song or two touching chaotic, sad and tough periods in the world. Bringing about what wars, natural catastrophies and personal losses lead to and how helpless and lonely we as people feel in these situations. Songs that were composed long ago for different reasons but which, most unfortunately, are just as actual and valid today… I am talking about among others “Halleluja”, “Bridge over troubled waters” and “We are the world”. I believe these songs have been brought back to stage well considered and with a purpose by our guys. They are a lot deeper than most people think. At least I was touched by all these tunes.
Enough from me to-day – and once again thanks to Daniela and team for the great translations and explanations making these concerts and the spoken words during same meaningful to us non-italian-speaking fans. So much appreciated.

Mario Biondi is popular but he is considered more of a niche singer because he proposes a very particular genre, you know that he has 10 children!!!
You’re right when you say that certain songs were introduced specifically to make people reflect on the times we’re living in, but I have to tell you that even in other years our guys have always included songs that had a very specific meaning, a message of peace, I remember with great affection and amazement ROUNDABOUT THE WORLD where the words say:
“If all the kids in the world held hands, then there would be a roundabout around the world, and if all the people held hands, if the world really held hands, then there would be a great bridge ……”
There are rumors, not confirmed yet, that say that perhaps Il Volo at the end of the year will still propose some concerts TUTTI PER UNO but dedicated to foreign songs… who knows if it’s true!

I have loved Gianluca and Clara’s songs together ever since they sang Say Something together at that Tutti Per Uno Concert a year ago in Verona. It totally mesmerized me…..the chemistry between the two of them. 😊 I have not seen that when he performs with any other female artist. So I was glad to see them together again at Mantua. 😀

In my limited life of 77 years have I been moved more by a duet! To me there were two issues (1 was the words of the song and 2 was the emotional connection between 2 people who moved their heart, body and soul as one)
If Piero and Clara sang that song it wouldn’t have the same effect!

I agree Pat and Kirsten. However, I thought there was also so much chemistry and rapport between Igna and Alessandra on Isn’t She Lovely, and also between Piero and Arisa on Tu Si Na Cosa, and she even did the song in two octaves!

I have to say that the “chemistry” between two people is created when there is great harmony.
With Clara the contact was with Gianluca in the first concert two years ago but the beautiful friendship continued because Clara wanted Il Volo in the duets evening this year at Sanremo. In general I would say that all the duets had a lot of empathy, but this is certainly thanks to the open and humble character of our guys who immediately know how to put you at ease.

As far as I know that is a scam. As I had the same thing and was told that is not real. So please ignore. So annoying this is happening still.

Definitely a scam!! The only item for real is a one year fan club membership! I just renewed mine and it was $35.00 +/- Canadian! You will only need the fan club if you want to have access to sound checks for concerts!
