LAST NIGHT I WAS FILLED WITH PRIDE                                                                                                                                AS THEY RODE THE WAVE OF FAME I CRIED

MY FRIENDS, MY CREW, WAITED FOR THE GOLD                                                                                                              A PAGE IN THE BOOK OF IL VOLO IS TOLD

WE WISHED WE COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO CHEER                                                                                                   BUT AS ALWAYS WE’RE PASSIONATELY DEVOTED FROM HERE

  5. Have you seen the surprise video that Ignazio made, and presented on stage, for Piero & Gianluca , thanking them & telling them how much they mean to him. This occured just before he sang Memories. The audience loved it, Gianluca seemed a little nervous about the delay.
    Very very sweet.

  8. Thanks you guys! Sometimes I get so emotionally involved that I have to resort to poetry to express myself. This night I wanted to remember. Not only the Boys triumph but I did not want to forget how we clung together that night with our pride, love and tears!

    1. I read your poem right after it was posted last night, Marie. I was still too emotional. I felt terrible that I missed such a milestone of our guys as if I missed my own daughter’s college graduation or wedding. Gianluca, Piero, and Ignazio have become my family and so are my board sisters. Thanks for being there for me, my board sisters, when I was feeling down. Marie the poem is beautiful, you are beautiful, our guys are beautiful. I will always remember these two days – beautiful days.

  9. I haven’t heard any mention of Nikki. Did she perform at the Radio City Music Hall? I have to admit, I’m glad she didn’t perform at the Chicago concert. I absolutely adore these beautiful and talented young men!

  12. The video made by Ignazio is beautiful and sweet. As is so often true, the “comedian” usually has a deep and beautiful soul. Ignazio has that!! How can you not love him?

Your right Linda I always felt he appreciated singing with the group because earlier when starting out he seemed to look to the others for support especially Gianluca because when he was heavier the interviewers seemed to pay more attention to the others & not him & It was Gianluca that would tell the interviewers to ask Ignazio a questions. Now over the years it is Piero & Ignazio who are companions not leaving Gianluca out but the 3 of them are closer as they have become older. Him expressing himself like he did it going tighten a bond between them even stronger. We weren’t close enough to see on stage but I bet Gianluca was crying/

  17. To Linda P and whoever else wants to know – Ignazio’s video is on Mundial Facebook and also on Twitter, in more than one location – just keep on scrolling until you come to one. There isn’t any link to it but it does say that it is his tribute to Gianluca and Piero. I watched it several times today – it is very moving. It did not disrupt the show – on the contrary, the audience loved it and I think his words really entered the hearts of everyone – especially the other boys. When it ended, Gianluca said (into his microphone) that he was speechless. Then they all hugged each other for a few minutes – it was very lovely to see, and I’m sure it had the effect he wanted it to have. It was a wonderful thing to do. HE IS MARVELOUS!!! (Aren’t they all?)

  20. Marie, Thank you for you wonderful sharing. What a night it was and what a climax for the North American tour ( I know there are two others but somehow I don’t think they will be like Radio City was.) Bravo ! to you Marie. Sure would love to have lunch with you sometime.

  25. Your poem is wonderful. It describes our angels to a tee. I just wish we all could have been there to see them in person. I know though, that they were very conscience of our love and support behind them.

  27. Oh Marie, what away with words, you are truly gifted! The tribute to Piero andGianluca was very touching. Tears were there, words were not. As I said before,I will never forget my time in N.Y. with lI Volo. I hope I can figure out how to post the pictures!! By the way, I am enjoying this site tremendously! Thanks to all!!!!!

    1. Marie you said you must got home. I did as well so haven’t looked around the board yet. This topic may be somewhere else on here, but if not, did you see Ignazio’s secret video tribute he made and showed for Piero and Gianluca at RCMH where said they were 3 voices one soul and told them that he loved them. They embraced and Gianluca said he was speechless. What a tear jerker that was! OMG! Marie Loretta, et al, your “boy” certainly class and such a heart of gold!

  31. This is a site with lots of class – the very best since I became an Il Volo fan. PBS Special 2012. I pledged in March but did not receive the DVD until August. Looking forward to the next DVD – a Disney film?

    1. Marie S. ……You are so right!! Lots and lots of class! I don’t know if you are familiar with the way that this site came into being, but 5 (I think) very talented ladies decided that Il Volo needed some tender, loving care on the internet, so this blog was born less than 2 months ago! There’s a tremendous amount of love and respect shown here, not only for The Boys but for each other, too. THAT’S what gives it class!
      Surely do hope that DVD is in the offing…A Disney film would be wonderful!

        Regarding Disney,
        maybe some of you read my comment about telling my mom about the Disney movie possibility, and discussing what great role models Our Boys are. Then I went to recycling (my plans to do this had changed 3 times in 2 days), and there was a Disney Parks bag with Tinkerbell’s castle and fireworks filling the sky. I hung it up in my garage and see the Disney castle and fireworks every time I return home. I’m pretty sure something is going to happen with Disney! We’ll see.
        (Oh, and anyone who wants the photo of the bag, to add to your dreaming with and for Our Boys, just do a web search for my signature line, and you can ask for my photo via my contact page. I’m not on social media other than this!)

  33. Lovely Marie–you express what we all feel–pride in the boys at every accomplishment, happiness and joy when their dreams come true, and feeling the love that surrounds them and flows out back and forth from them to the world and from their myriad fans back to them.

    2. One of the nicest things about this site is that it is (usually) a mutual admiration society–remember that song anyone?–unless of course we are fighting over who gets who and throwing canes, walkers and pillows at each other!

  35. Does anyone find it a little odd that, the last time I looked, there was but one far away photo of stage of TAJ MAHAL ARENA? Not much hooplah about CT tonight either. I think everyone, including the boys, feel some sadness about this being their last concert here. Picture of Gianluca sitting in an emply RCMH. was very sad. Twitted him saying, “Mixture of happiness, gratitude, & sadness? Me too! but now you have more fans that are waiting. We will support you wherever you are!” I think we all are having trouble coming down from the high. I just feel privileged to have their very 1st big dream, come to fruition here, so we could share in their excitement!

    1. Kathryn, it looks like Gianluca’s sitting in the Oakdale Theater in CT, which makes it even sadder because it looks like he realizes that the We Are Love Tour is over. But he has nothing to be sad about. It was a huge success and this is only the first leg. They still have much more love coming their way on the Mas Que Amor tour.

  39. I have been gone all day and just now read your great poem, Marie. It is so beautiful and so very well expresses how we all feel about our boys! I then went and clicked on the surprise tribute Ignazio made to Piero and Gianluca.. The lump in my throat turned into tears rolling down my face. What a beautiful and thoughtful thing for him to do!

    1. Allene, the three of them are such classy individuals others can take lessons from them! It is no wonder we love them and are proud of them.
      I would love to meet their parents and tell them what a terrific job they did with them.

    Well, IL VOLO wears their hearts in their voices!

    Maybe that’s why I feel their hearts reach deeply into mine! Sound waves can do that, especially when they are jam packed with the ambrosia of Love!

    Every time I stop crying, I hear another song, read another post, watch a teen review, and I’m crying again! Whew!

  42. Marie, I’ve been out most of the day, too, & read your wonderful poem a little while ago. Your gift is amazing! I’m glad Loretta asked you to write something to celebrate the realization of IL VOLO’s dream. You are the Poetry Queen:)

    I’m willing to bet that Gianluca was tearing up when he hugged Ignazio after his video surprise tribute to his brothers in harmony & their entire team. It was very moving, but not surprising to me, given all that we have heard & read about Ignazio’s personality. The RCMH concert was a major milestone in their flight to stardom. His video tribute was a fitting marker for that milestone.

  44. I think I have had too little sleep after the bad flight home from New York but the first time I saw that video I was happy with tears. But why do I all of a sudden worry that he is planning some change in the future. Anyone heard anything ? (I hope the answer is “no” ). This guy is so precious (as they all are)

  45. Myron, I had the same worry when I watched that video
    of Ignazio. Hopefully It’s nothing.

    1. I think y’all may be imagining things. Ignazio spoke of the power of three, and their 3 voices-one soul. Any one of them could be successful individually, but their ticket to fame right now is their unity. It is what makes them unique. They may not be able to remain a unit forever, but I think they will be together for long time to come. At least that is my prayer for them

      1. I agree with you. I didn’t see it as a “farewell” at all. I saw it as a thank you for all you have done for me, you are my brothers and I love you. I don’t think we should try to read anything more into it.

  47. Allene, did you watch the videos of Piero singing his 2 solos at Radio City? He was just magnificent-over the top. All 3 of them were great, but, of course, Piero has that special place in my heart. I really hope they put out a live recording with all their solos on it soon.

  48. Lynn, I have watched over and over Piero’s solos, and every time think my heart is going to burst when I hear his powerful and magnificent voice! I love this young man so much and am so proud of him, you’d think he was part of my family! But that is true of Ignazio and Gianluca, too. They have brought so much joy and happiness into my life! My family doesn’t appreciate their music and it breaks my heart that :I can’t share these very talented young men’s music with them. And yes, I love the solos of Ignazio and Gianluca, too. I just can’t get enough of Il Volo period!

    1. Allene: May I quote every word you wrote? That is Exactly where I am with these fantastic young men. It’s so frustrating to try to share this love with family only to be turned away! I cry every time I watch them, and am just holding my breath until the next announcement of where or when I can see them again! I believe we are all “Kindred Spirits in Il Volo”. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

  49. I agree with you, Lynn, regarding Ignazio’s video. I think the video of Ignazio to Piero and Gianluca was just a testimonial of how he felt about their journey, together! I didn’t see it as a farewell, but more as a “we have so much more to go”. As so many often do, any one of the three could very well do their own recordings, as well as being part of the group. Imagine if they did that? It would be like ‘double the pleasure, double the fun’!

  50. I agree, I think Ignazio was celebrating their sucess together so far, I don’t believe it’s anything more than that. He’s a sweet and caring young man and with Piero and Gianluca have a long future together.

    1. I also agree with Lee Lee and Linda, it was just Ignazio’s way to express his love for his “brothers”. It surely brought a tear to my eyes. I didn’t like when he said “everyday I think it might be the last” didn’t quite get the meaning of that, but I don’t think he is evne remotely thinking of quitting the band. He needs to sing Stevie Wonder’s My Cherie Amour b/c he is Loretta and Maire’s cherie Amour!!
