Hi Everyone,

Here we are, sad, in mourning and weeping. We have written poems,commented on their tour, cried over Ignazio’s video and wished we had gone to MORE concerts. It just seems like yesterday Il Volo started their “We Are Love Tour”. Now Pouf they’re gone!They have gone to Guadalajara to begin their “Mas Que Amor” tour!
While they were here we felt like they belonged to us, now separation anxiety has set in. Don’t worry, we’ll be ok, we’ll follow them during this tour and love them just as much! Perk up Flight Crew, we’ll get through this!!

This is just a short history of Guadalajara, Il Volo will be performing there at the ‘Auditorio Telemax’ on Friday, October 4th.

Guadalajara (Spanish pronunciation: [ɡwaðalaˈxaɾa]) is the capital of the Mexican state of Jalisco, and the seat of the municipality of Guadalajara. The city is located in the central region of Jalisco in the western-pacific area of Mexico. With a population of 1,564,514 it is Mexico’s second most populous municipality.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR THE RECOGNITION OF THE BLOG AND HOPE IL VOLO AND THEIR MANAGEMENT CAN SEE THE LOVE WE HAVE ALL PUT INTO IT.We hope as usual “The Boys” will get some rest before their concert on Friday, October 4th!

  1. Yes! Barbara Vitali emailed US! Next to the names Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero that’s the name we wanted to see the most on an email. Thanks Barbara! We will, of course, continue the support of Our Boys!. Birthday card coming soon.

  8. Oh my goodness…..I can watch that vidoe over and over again. The way Piero rolls his hips and Gianluca runs his hands through his hair makes my heart go thump thump. Ignazio is definitely the funny one of the group.

    1. Ed Sullivan would refuse to show these guys below the waist, just like he did for Elvis. Can I take Piero & his hips home with me? But it is really his voice I want to hear evry single day. I love it!

  9. Receiving the email from Barbara is exactly what’s need to bring me out from those ups and down that I’ve been experiencing for the last few days. I feel like this is a confirmation of our existence and soon we will be hearing from our guys!

    Gianluca, Piero, Ignazio, many successes on your So America tour. Our crew here will follow you all the way and will be waiting patiently for your return to North America.

    1. But how do we know what the email from Barbara even said? It’s either none of my business or I’m guessing it’s to be taken for granted that it was a thanks for support or something. Did you see, Elaine, in the You Tube video posted above, one with the push ups where Gianluca messed up his hair (as if to say: that, I can be funny too, when Ignazio kept goofing). I still like the one from yesterday the best, the blooper where Ignazio lets the Fbomb fly in italian, that wasn’t the funiest part, it was watching Gianluca and Piero’s faces. I have watched that a dozen times, I just go to the last 30 seconds of it for their reaction. He has done that before if you watch the keek of his making chicken marsala, he says it there too, probably says it at LEAST once a day! ha ha

  10. Lijoy, thank you so much , I missed this one and I had a good laugh, just what I need today. From what concert was this ? I’m looking forward to videos from the next concert series. I wonder what antics they will do. I remember that from last years’ concerts the Latin American fans were very enthusiastic and they did a lot of “sing alongs”

I was just watching a you tube video that Sofia David from IL VOLO Seriously had put up which intertwines Bruno Mars and Gianluca dancing to “Treasure” and some one wrote a comment “Who is that gringo trying to be Bruno”, well calling a Gringo I guess is appropriate now that he is in Mexico!!!
    Hope it’s not a bad term I’ll have to look it up.

  15. Elaine, if you had to pick which did you like best, the funny charlie sheen hair or this one at the concert where he messes his hair to one up Ignazio? You do know that there is a facebook page dedicted to his hair!! It hasnt been active lately I don’t think, but it exists. Josh Groban also has said there is a facebook page for his hair, as he is known for his as well. I’d love to see Josh & IL VOLO sing together some day and with Andrea Bocelli as well

    1. That’s great news. I’m sure she loves this website. I tried to sign Ignacio’s card but wasn’t able to. It was blurry and the circle kept going around.

      1. LeeLee she is the woman who travels with the boys & monitors & takes pictures of the crowd at the theatres & basically is there for them if they need help & she works for Mr. Torpedine. I think she is from Italy but speaks English & Italian. Her hair is dark brown you have probably seen her in some of the pictures with the boys her dark hair is usually over one side of her face

    I can’t stop playing the keek that Ignazio is imitating Steve Wonder it s full picture of Ignazio & a guitarist & the BEST that brabble has ever done, I hope they are improving because so far they have been the pits. Can’t get enough of the video I wish it was longer

  30. I just read a review of the RCMH concert by “concertblogger”. This person does not know Il Volo and was very impressed by them. Check the affiliate site Team Il Volo and it is the first article. I’m so happy for this good review.,a good send off for the boys as they start the new tour.

  36. Yes, Kyalpn, (I’m afraid I had use that name, I think you are Kelly. Didn’t want to tae a chance and have it wrong) Anyway, several of us, including Ann and Mary, have had the same problem signing the card and Marie has come to our rescue.

  38. Just a quick comment….. I have just listened to Gian sing “Night & Day”
    from RCMH for the umpteenth time, and he really nailed it that
    night! What surprises me most is that EVERY SINGLE WORD is pronounced PERFECTLY in American English…PERFECTLY!!! What an amazing ear he has for our language… I read somewhere that great musicians and especially singers are usually very proficient in foreign languages because they have such a keen ear for sound. All 3 Boys are remarkable, but Gianluca leads the way!

    1. Yes, I hope they record Night and Day. He sang it best at Radio City. And I think he is planning on singing for us “I’ve got a crush on you” by Sinatra. I’m waiting! He certainly speaks perfect English with the cutest accent and can impersonate anyone! and it looks like Ignacio (Stevie Wonder) and Piero (Elvis) can do the same! They are the greatest – so multi- talented and lovable.

Someone on this posting tonight said they are waiting to see if Gianluca will sing “I’ve got a crush on you” if the “sweetie pie” does do it, (that’s also a line in the lyric) it had better last longer than the 5 seconds, that was the length of time for “come fly with me” video he did. If you blinked, sneezed or coughed, you missed it!

    2. Helen, did you see Myron´s comment about a university professor that shows the Gianluca´s performances to his students to show how he sings and pronounce perfectly the words. I don’t remember where he posted it, but how wonderful to be a model for students. I agree with you: Perfection!!!

      1. That’s why I tell him he is Sinatra. He tries for perfection in the lyrics, feelings and tells a story at every performance. I have never seen that before in another performer since Sinatra. He is a perfectionist but he has the gorgeous voice and looks to go with it!

      2. Josie, yes, as a matter of fact I did read Myron’s comments and I can believe that students could learn a great deal from watching Gian’s performances. I have heard somewhere that his Spanish as well as his English is very good.
        How I wish he would sing “I’ve Got a Crush on You”!!! I adore all of the old Sinatra songs, and Gian has that special Sinatra connection with his audience, and Ann, you’re so right…His songs do tell a story, and Gian sings them so passionately! I’ve noticed that all The Boys are much more expressive this year, especially with their solos. What a boon that is for all of us!!!

      3. Yes, I have been asking Gian for a cd of Sinatra songs he does so beautifully and the songs are timeless and a breath of fresh air in today’s so called music. He brings back memories of all the good crooners like Vic Damone, Tony Bennett, Al Martino, Sergio Franchi, the list goes on and on. It’s amazing how he learns about all the American singers.

    3. Gianluca is articulate during Italian interviews.. I don’t speak Italian but understand it. My parents were from Sicily.

  39. I heard night and day for the first time at the concert and fell in love with Gianluca’s performance. I hope they record that one on the next album.

    1. Oh, Michele!!! You make me feel so old! I was raised on “Night and Day” and all those marvelous Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart (AND Hammerstein) songs..I could go on and On! I am so thankful that I was around for all of the spectacular music that was written back then for Broadway and the movies. It was a glorious time, music-wise.

      1. Kevin Kline as Cole Porter in “DeLovely” shows the singer how to sing “Night and Day” because the singer says it’s an impossible song to sing… Gianluca would have made Cole Porter proud!

      3. That time was really special for songs. I agree wholeheartedly Helen. In addition to those 30’s and 40’s songs, my mother went about the house singing 20’s songs too–some of which have very cute/funny lyrics. My dad had a great voice and used to sing at family gatherings–no TV in those days!–everything from Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair to There’s a Long, Long Trail A-Winding. Those songs had singable melodies and hard to forget lyrics. 3 cheers for old Tin Pan Alley!

  41. Did someone here say they were from Minnesota and unhappy that they didn’t come to their town to perform during the tour? Mundail has listed that they will be at the MALL OF AMERICA on Nov. 29 to do a signing of their Buon Nalale CD. Wow, that is exciting news for Minnesotans!!!

  43. Il Volo world is in a panic. Gianluca’s Instagram is not working so he can’t post pictures. Too, too funny!

  45. We also know Il Volo will be in Detroit for the Wine & Dine December 1st, so who knows where they might be appearing in those couple of weeks !

  46. Gianluca without Instagram is like a day without sunshine, he needs to get it fixed!

    I’m sure they will be appearing at a lot of PBS stations and music stores the end of Nov and beginning of Dec to promote their Christmas album. Detroit will probably be the first to air the special concert.

  48. Mary, I have just now read your comment about Il Volo appearing at the Mall of America on Nov. 29th. You can bet your bottom dollar I will move heaven and earth and even resort to bribing, but I WILL be there! Any time of day mentioned? My family thinks I’m obsessed with Il Volo, so I have ;my work cut out for me. OMG I am so excited.

  50. Thanks LeeLee, I am already trying to work on my family. Therei is no way my Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca are going to be that close and me not seeing them!

    1. Allene, Yippee! Not only will we get to see the boys, but also meet each other! We should plan to meet at some restaurant or something ahead of time and go through together. Daughter and I may stay at a motel right there to be sure to get there in case of weather….we are about 45 minutes from the Mall–you may be farther. We should keep in touch by e-mail.

      2. Mary and Ailleen, It’s less than 2 months away, but can you imagine, that is Thanksgiving weekend – it’s the Saturday after, the mall will be so jam packed with Christmas shoppers, they will sell so many CD’s to sign, you may have to wait in a long line, If I were you 2, I’d go there early in the a.m. (bring a left over turkey sandwich for lunch ha ha) and “camp out” bring a cushion to sit on, so you won’t be in a humongous line!!

      3. I see Mary isn’t letting any grass grow under her feet, she’s got it all down to even include “plan B” getting a hotel room if weather is bad! Mary ask Piero when you see him if he’d like to take another taxi ride with you! Good thinking! These 2 months til their appearance will go by so fast, trust me and how exciting! They never cease to amaze, what a choice of places to appear!
