I’ve been reading comments since Thursday night, and I can tell that we’re all still completely stoked about The Guys’ win the other night. And why shouldn’t we be? It was so amazing! I know we’ve all watched and re-watched this video more than once, but I think we need to have a special place for it here, don’t you? 😀

In fact, they made enough of an impression that Yahoo Music wrote an article that I was easily able to find at the top of Bing’s search results,

and they were named on “The Heartthrobs of the Night” list by Telemundo.
ILVolovers the world over did their part admirably during the show, tweeting #ElPulsoBillboard for @ilvolo to keep them at the top of the list of “Most Tweets” for the night. My lovely hosts commented on it more than once, saying, “OK. The Il Volo fans have got this. It’s not even a contest, and they are winning! It’s not even close!” There was a brief moment when they mentioned that Il Volo had dropped to number three on the list, and well…let’s just say that ILVolovers took care of that! 😀 Way to rock those tweets guys!
Another honor of the night–in my opinion at least–is that they were asked to present an award as well, which they did for Latin Pop Song:

To me, asking Il Volo to present an award and having them walk away with a win shows an acceptance that goes beyond their adoring public. It means that the industry has taken notice as well, and that is something that can take their already amazing career to the next level.
When I think about that, I have to think about how far they’ve come in such a short time, and have to wonder what is going through their minds. From thinking that Ti Luscio una Canzone would be it and that they would go back to their regular lives, to celebrating their first industry award in five short years…what a journey!
And how fitting that they have come full circle…appearing on Ti Luscio una Canzone again yesterday, singing, “Il Mundo,” fresh off of such success. I’m guessing they were an inspiration to every contestant that is currently on the show, a living, breathing example that dreams can come true.

Kelly, thanks for putting all these videos in one place for us. I’ve watched the video of our guys winning the award several times just so I could watch each of their faces when they were announced as the winners.
How could IL VOLO NOT be the Heartthrobs of the night? Just look at them! They were so classy & professional (not to mention GORGEOUS) in their new suits. Their faces shone with their excitement at being nominated twice. Then that excitement burst into fireworks when they won the award. Gianluca’s feet must not have touched the floor from his seat to the stage! Gianluca wore his emotions all over his face for the whole world to see. I almost cried the first time I saw it. They might have been speechless over the honor, but they didn’t forget to thank their families & their fans.
The 5 years that Piero, Gianluca, & Ignazio have worked so hard to realize their dreams have finally paid off with the recognition that they so richly deserve. The Latin music community recognizes excellence when they hear it. I hope it won’t be long until the American music community recognizes it as well, and IL VOLO wins a Grammy.
Piero, Gianluca, & Ignazio, you young men have made your families, friends & fans immensely proud of you. The reaction of the people on TLUC who helped you get your start shows how proud they are of all that you have accomplished as well. The quality of your work & the wonderful music & passion that comes from your hearts & souls will only improve as you mature. Just keep loving each other, your families & your fans, and God first & all your dreams will come true. I am an ILVOLOVER, & I am so very proud of you.

Wow, what a week for our guys! Thanks for a wonderful summary Kelly. I am so proud and so happy but I did not cry…not until tonight when I see the emotions from Antonella on TLUC. My tears of joy just burst uncontrollably . Love you guys. You’ll be in my dreams tonight.
A Reminder is set on Charter Cable for 2 pm sunday afternoon for a rerun of the 3-hour Billboard program – BUT – I just happened to be checking Ch 24 Telemundo – Billboard Extra was on even though not scheduled – just as the Fabulous Three were receiving the award. Tears streaming down my cheeks – and I didn’t even know the Telemunndo channel number before Thursday. The Il Volo Flight Crew get my vote for Information, Videos, Photos, and Fellowship. A Gem of a site. I will be looking for videos of the June concerts since I cannot attend. I turn 89 in a few weeks ….. As Joe Cocker sang – “…You are so beautiful to me….”
I was a big girl. I watched TLUC a few more times this morning. I did not cry when Ignazio came on stage grinning and messing with his earpiece. I did not cry when the man Gianluca began to sing. Even though I had a lump in my throat when the adults were crying and Ignazio shed a tear I did not cry. When the camera moved to the group of children and I thought about what a short time ago it was that Our Guys were that small, my big girl went away and what remained was a soppy woman in love with three grown, amazing Italian men. Very bitter-sweet. I wasn’t ready to give up My Baby Boys yet. The feeling was, however, offset by the unbelievable joy in my heart when these three men sang El Mondo to me again this morning.
Kelly – Thank you so much for pulling this together – I was taking care of a sick family member and missed most of the festivities – but now I feel like I didn’t miss a thing — and believe me – “I don’t want to miss a thing!”
CONGRATULATIONS PIERO, IGNAZIO AND GIANLUCA!!! You did it! I will congratulate you in person in Virginia, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania! Michele
I missed some of their best moments because I had trouble finding a live stream that worked and keeping it working…lol. So I’m very glad that others had these videos for all the see, also. 🙂
Thanks for this Kelly!! I’ve been emotional since they won the Billboard Award, then I watched the video of them singing “Il Mondo” at TLUC and lost it. Sorry Marie, I couldn’t hold it together at all!!! They still have that amazing joy when they sing and have developed a connection and love for each other that comes shining through when they sing. I could not love them more or be more proud of them!!!!
I am so proud and happy to be an Il Volover. Our Guys sang beautifully last night and I just can’t stop smiling when I think of how happy they looked to be there. They must have definitely provided inspiration to all of the contestants there, but it is more than that. Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca provide inspiration for young, people around the world. The three of them are living proof that you CAN follow your dreams, you don’t have to do what someone else thinks you should do. You CAN accomplish your wildest goals, you should never limit yourself. You CAN achieve success, it doesn’t matter how young you are or where you’re from, if you work hard and believe in yourself, like Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca have done, and continue to do, there are no limits.
Isabel – you are so young to possess this wisdom! But you are right – everything you say boils down to this! “BELIEVE – and IT IS SO!” That is the standard I try to live by! I think Il Volo inspires us all to work a little harder to move mountains to fulfill our dreams and ambitions! And of course, we love Il Volo’s music!

Everyone has a certain link that they feel brings them the news that is important to them… For me it is here THE Il VOLO FLIGHT CREW… I come here and drink my morning coffee and connect with people who have the same interests as I do… Those interests are ” Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca”… Il Volo … I want to thank you for putting this all together for us on one spot for us IlVolovers to enjoy over and over again…The Flight Crew was the first site that I found that I felt connected to enough to share my thoughts about Il Volo and not feel strange that a woman of my age could love and enjoy these three young boys … We all feel the same way.. Thanks Kelly for the wonderful pictures & I agree they should have a special place here on the blog for their win. I can’t stop watching the song Il Mondo on TLUC not only because it is my favourite song but becaue that is the first song I heard them sing & I stood crying & didn’t know why. Their careers have headed for the stars & will continue to because there are NO OTHER singers with the talent they have, the love they have for each other that is prominent when they sing together & also when being interviewed. They are the whole package honesty,sincerity, looks, talent, love for each other their families & also for their fans which I’ve never seen with any other performer. My love for them knows no bounds. No matter what they do, how they look, what they say I am glued to the screen on the computer, tv or picture. They are icons.
God bless you Ignazio, Gianluca & Piero for your success & as long as I am here will constantly cheer you on to the next level & watch with pride as you succeed.

To answer your question, I am presently at home in Jerusalem (Israel). I hope to be in Canada in June to see the concert in Toronto. Thanks for the welcome- I’ve been very busy and now (finally) am able to get back to our blog and all the oh-so-interesting things that have been happening! Isn’t it utterly marvelous?

Very nice recap on the Thursday Show. I hope the guys celebrated into the wee small hours of the night (or morning) – but of course, safely.
WHAT’S NEXT ? AMERICAN GRAMMY (another of their dreams from years ago). WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL ( in my opinion, after Carnegie Hall, the best concert hall in the country ) and (another dream of theirs) CARNEGIE.
I’m rooting for Carnegie as well Myron & this time I will be there to celebrate their stage appearance with them
Kelly, thank you so much for all the work you do for us. We all feel the same way about Our Boys. They have come a long way and it is because of their Amazing voices first, then amazing personalities, families and looks plus hard work and dedication. If I can only use one word for them in everything they do – it is excellence!!!! They have helped me so much in my personal life and every song they sing is magic. There are no words to express the joy I feel when I listen to them sing every single day. God bless Gianluca, Piero and Ignacio for what they bring to the world. We love you!
We’ve all been speculating about when the new CD will come out. My thought is it might be just before their US tour starts.
Their last CD was the “WE ARE LOVE one, and they always refered to their tour as the “WE ARE LOVE ” tour. So, What ever the name of the CD will be, should also be their ????? tour. So, you would think it should be out come May?
It seems to me that they have to release the new CD before the concert tour, so they will be able to sing the new songs in the concerts – I don’t think they’ll do another tour with the songs from last year. And there was an interview (around Christmas time, if I remember right) in which the boys were asked when the new disk will come out, and Piero said “at the end of…” and was cut off from completing the sentence by Gianluca, who said it wasn’t allowed for them to say when. So – if it’s “at the end” of a month, it probably will be May – since it isn’t April!! Can’t wait to hear the new songs!
Kelly, beautiful job of summing up the spectacular event!! Loved it! Just saw beautiful photos of Gianluca’s family celebrating with him in their home. He is his Mother’s son! Has her beautiful eyes and smile. Younger brother looks JUST like Dad. What a beautiful family. I can’t imagine how PROUD they must be of their amazing Gianluca!!
Gianluca has the beauty of his mother and the seriousness of his father. Gianluca is one classy young man and has been brought up in as loving family as well as Ignazio and Piero. The Italians know what’s important–family!

I too think the CD is coming out in May. Ignazio sort of hinted that they were still working on it during that backstage little interview at the Billboard Awards. On the other hand, it doesn’t LOOK like they are working! We will have to be detectives and see if they go to Rome in the next little while.

I cried like a baby, especially in feeling the intensity of Gianluca’s emotion as he started off IL Mondo. Then seeing Antonella tearing, one of the judges (I think) dabbing tears, Piero’s big hug for Antonella, Ignazio’s giving Antonella’s second kiss that said to me “I’m serious about giving you a kiss that says how much I appreciate you”, Gianluca giving an extra hug….
The Grammy’s brought me so much joy and delight, including Our Boys’ awesome announcement of Chino Y Nacho. (Viva Venezuelans!)
Ti Lascio Una Canzone feels to me like Radio City Music Hall. I’m just an emotional mess. So much intensity of emotion and Love.

Yes, I have seen it before. Hilarious–it’s right up there with the video of Ignazio’s birthday cake and the trick candles!
For the last show of the tour, anything can happen and usually does. This was a prank by the band, we think with a little help from Piero, watch his reaction!

My first concert was their last of 2012 (right before the Streisand tour), and there were some funny moments there, including Ignazio’s sister surprising them onstage in a big costume (a bunny, if I recall).
I can feel how close we are to concert season!! Yay!
