Slowly, slowly, we arrived in CHIETI, the last Italian stop, before the grand finale of Verona.
We are in Abruzzo, the land of Gianluca.

Let’s start with this video with this presentation that I translate for you.

G= Finally in my land, finally, after a long wait.
P = Two concerts in Sicily, and you spoke in Sicilian …
G = Welcome to Abruzzo.
P = It’s not like you play at home, and the two of us leave, you don’t do the concert alone.
G = Then you make us feel how you speak the Abruzzese, but the Teramo dialect is different.
I = (signs to be silent and speaks with a fixed voice) Welcome to Abruzzo, a magnificent land, a very fertile land of talents, not only of Gianluca, also of many illustrious characters such as Rocco Siffredi (pornographic actor), of great stature.
G = But can you start a concert with these things?
I = I have not finished yet, I warn you that otherwise I start over again.
Welcome to Abruzzo, a very beautiful city.
P + G = City ????
I = Very beautiful region, overlooking the sea on the Adriatic coast, but there is also a beautiful mountain, the Gran Sasso, welcome to Abruzzo, thanks.
Let’s say you have a good (Gianluca) that should be “Unesco heritage”, wherever he goes, he speaks of Abruzzo (applause)
P = If we go to South Africa, “I’m from Abruzzo”, to explain Abruzzo to Woody Allen, he had to talk about Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
G = Thank you, see? You make me look good, thanks.
I = But surely you will take some percentage from the region, it’s incredible, whatever you talk about, he says Abruzzo. You should open a cellar “Montepulciano d’Abruzzo”
P = I wanted to say that this year we are celebrating 10 years of career, thanks. In 10 years, so many things have changed, so many pounds have gone away (indicates Ignazio’s belly)
I = I want to undress, but it’s not a lookout.
P = Master: (begins the song )

The Chieti concert was also the last concert, this year with Quarta and IL VOLO (he will also be in Verona) and Alessandro finally said these beautiful words:

“At some point, one has to take a vacation, and right now, that I’ve met these THREE WONDERS, I have to move away from them. Because today, for me, it’s the last stop on the tour, for me it was a pleasure, let me tell you, not immense, MORE, because it is incredible how they have an excellent musical maturity, because usually the voice is heard, only these high notes are heard, but the music is not only made of strong dynamics, the difficulty is when you get a fort, making your voice slow, which for me means being truly, truly, honored to have three voices like that, not only for how they sing, but also for how they interpret.”

……. and we end with Gianluca’s thanks.

“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. We must feel them with our hearts. It is always nice to sing in my land.
Thanks to all the people present last night in Chieti, I experienced some unforgettable moments that I will carry with me forever.” ❤️ ️✨  ~Gianluca

Dubrovnik, is a beautiful town in southern Croatia, boasts a historic center of particular historical and cultural importance, which is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and which earned it the nickname “Pearl of the Adriatic”.

Until the 70’s its name was RAGUSA (in Italian Ragusa of the Adriatic to distinguish it from the Sicilian Ragusa). Dubrovnik is its name in Croatian and often, in books, the double name is used.

Okay, you guys need rest, holidays and return to families.

For the concerts we meet again in September, happy holidays …………. and happy holidays to all the crew of Flight Crew !!

  3. Thank you so much for the detailed translations of the banter onstage. More than anything I wish my mother had taught me Italian, but she forgot herself. We all appreciate your efforts to make us feel even closer to “Our Boys.”

    1. Thanks for the compliments, Joan del Pozzo, and it’s really a pity that your mom didn’t teach you Italian.

    Piero’s words: ” If we go to South Africa, (Gianluca is sure to state) “I’m from Abruzzo”. Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio, I dearly hope , to one day be able to hear GG say, that he comes from Abruzzo, while I am sitting in the front row of an Il Volo concert in my land, South Africa.

    1. You’re most welcome, Ineke! I have seen the guys once in concert in the U.S. in 2107. My dream is to see them perform in Italy one day!

  6. Thank you Pat and Daniela for helping us enjoy ll Volo’s beautiful concerts in Italy and Dubrovnik! I really look forward to all the photos, videos and translations. 1. You’re welcome, Margaret. I saw a photo that Gianluca posted on Instagram saying that his summer has begun! Hopefully they will have lots of fun before having to start their concerts again.

    2. Margaret, they are certainly resting now, close to their families and their loved ones. But new commitments are already arriving that shorten their holidays.

  7. I don’t often comment but, appreciate and open each new post with anticipation and grateful thanks that you take the time to write, translate and keep all of us who do not speak Italian up to date on what IL Volo are doing. It has to be time consuming but we all appreciate the flight crew site so much. I am eagerly waiting and hoping there will be an article regarding when they will be returning to the USA and a schedule of concerts. Have been a fan for the 10 years they have been together.Thank you for all your efforts.
