IL VOLO ENCHANTS EUROPE by Daniela

🎉 Happy 2026!! 🎉

The new year has just begun, but there’s an interview conducted with Il Volo that was published at the end of the year, which I told you I’d translate for you.
It was published in the weekly magazine SORRISI E CANZONI, and Il Volo’s photo was on the cover.

Il Volo Enchants Europe

We followed Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble in Prague on one of the stops on their sold-out tour, waiting to see them on Canale 5 with their Christmas concert.
His name is Piotr, and he’s the taxi driver taking me from Prague airport to the O2 Arena, the modern venue where, in a few hours, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble will perform on one of the stops on their European tour. “‘Il Volo’? Of course I know them!” Piotr says during the ride. “My wife and daughter are fans, but I like their music, too. My favorite song is ‘Grande Amore’; here in the Czech Republic, we all love bel canto.” It was already clear what the concert evening had in store for me…
But let’s proceed in order. At 4:30 pm, the guys arrive at the arena. They’re cheerful and excited. Last night in Mannheim, near Stuttgart, the last German stop on this tour, they received a fantastic welcome. “This is our fourth time here in Prague, and the audience loves us so much,” explains Gianluca. And he asks, “Would you like a proper coffee?” He carefully selects the pod with the “strongest” blend and prepares the coffee. On the table in his dressing room are herbal teas of all kinds: green tea, almonds, fresh fruit, peanut butter, ginger, and honey. “Water, honey, lemon, and ginger are a panacea for the voice,” he explains.
Speaking of voices, Piero’s powerful warblings resonate in the backstage corridor as he warms up. An hour later, after rehearsals, we all gather in Piero’s dressing room for a chat. He eats rice cakes with banana slices and honey. Ignazio enjoys the more indulgent ones covered in dark chocolate. The atmosphere is relaxed. After all, the guys are used to tour life.
On average, how many days out of 365 days a year are you at home?
Piero: “The last number (laughs).”
Ignazio: “It depends. Sometimes we’ve only been home for two weeks total. But then you realize that to be productive, you have to stop every now and then, and that’s what we try to do.”
What do you miss about Italy when you’re abroad?
Piero: “Coffee. The only thing we ask for in the dressing room is an espresso machine. Before a concert, savoring the familiar taste of coffee makes us feel good.”
The fastest to pack?
Ignazio: “Me, without a doubt.”
Piero: “I tried asking Artificial Intelligence to make a packing list for this European tour. I entered the dates, and based on the weather forecast, it suggested what to bring.”
Did it work?
Piero: “Perfectly (laughs).”
Whose suitcase is the heaviest?
Gianluca: “Mine. This time it weighed 34 kilos, 20 of which were books, which are the first thing I pack. I put the medicine bag in right after, even though Piero is the ‘pharmacist’ of the group.”
Have you ever missed a flight on tour?
Piero: “Never. We’re always on time.”
You’ve been a trio for 16 years, literally sharing your lives. What was the happiest moment you’ve spent together?
Piero: “Three months ago, Ignazio became a father: he brought us immense joy.”
Ignazio, what song do you sing to your son Gabriele to put him to sleep?
“Before he was born, I wrote two songs for him; I sang them to him when he was still in the womb. Now, when he cries, he suddenly calms down at the first notes. It’s something that moves me so much.”
What’s a typical day like on tour?
Gianluca: “It depends on whether we have a flight to catch, whether we sing in the evening, but generally, Piero and I train in the morning. Then we read the papers, go sightseeing, have lunch together, and then we have rehearsals in the afternoon.”
It’s time for the guys to get ready for the concert, which starts at 8:00 PM. The 10,000 seats in the arena are all filled. Just before going on stage, Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca shake hands and… off they go. They sing for two hours. The audience knows all the words. At the end of each song (there are 26 on the setlist), the ecstatic fans gather in front of the stage and throw bouquets of flowers and gifts: portraits, sweets, custom-designed T-shirts, loads of stuffed animals.
The audience showers you with gifts: who’s the most curious?
Piero: “The stars. They named some stars after us, it’s beautiful.”
During the show on stage, you move in a coordinated way. Do you have any sort of choreography?
Gianluca: “We were inspired by Katy Perry’s tour (laughs). Not really, but we have such a connection that a glance is enough.”
Piero: “We look at each other a lot during the performance.”
Ignazio: “We just look for symmetry. Nothing is rehearsed.”
On December 24th, your Christmas concert from Sofia, Bulgaria, will be broadcast on Canale 5. What is your fondest Christmas memory?
Piero: “In 2012, we sang at the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in New York.”
Gianluca: “When we sang at the Christmas concert in St. Peter’s Square.”
Ignazio: “This will be my best Christmas because I’ll be spending it with my son and my family… watching our concert on TV!”
Thanks to Gary from All Things Il Volo in this photo you can see 4 covers of Sorrisi e Canzoni, 2015 2019 2023 2025.
But the interviews don’t end here, now I propose a very nice video interview made for FORBES Italy, activate the subtitles with the translation.

And also, this short interview for Greek TV. (it’s in English)

I told you that on Christmas Eve in Italy we’d be attending the INCANTO DI NATALE concert recorded in Bulgaria, but for three Saturdays (two before Christmas and one after) reruns of the three Mantua concerts were broadcast on TV, so we were able to see our three talented and beautiful guys many times.
Here’s a review from an Italian newspaper: LIBERO MAGAZINE.
There’s nothing you can do about it, put Il Volo under the tree on TV and the evening is over! Whether it’s a rerun or a first-time broadcast, the talent of these guys and the emotion they convey are always top-notch.

Christmas has arrived, a special time for our guys to spend with their families, and Michelle has given us a glimpse of the happiness of those moments through these beautiful photos.
Thank you, Michelle! ❤️💙❤️
The handsome Gabriele is very sweet and I dare say he is like Ignazio when he was little, what do you think? 💙
And then came the end of 2025 and the toasts to the new year.

There are no words to describe all these events and these beautiful photos that warm our hearts as we share these beautiful moments of relaxation and family happiness with them. For Ignazio, and I’m sure it was the same for Gianluca and Piero.
Their batteries will surely be recharged to face the thousand commitments of the new year, and since they will often be away from home, they will have enjoyed every minute of this time spent with their families.
The new year has arrived, and I hope it has been a good start for everyone, but above all, may your health always sustain you, and I hope that peace does not remain just a cherished dream.
Happy Epiphany to everyone, and see you soon with a new interview: Daniela 🤗

Look how beautiful these photos were taken by our friend Alicja!!!

Il Volo leaves Poland, next stop Bulgaria.

November 28  SOFIA

The concert was at Arena 8888.
As I’ve already explained, the concert will be recorded and broadcast on Canale 5 on Christmas Day, so in addition to the scheduled songs, Christmas carols will also be performed, and the arena will be decorated for the holidays.
I don’t want to spoil the Christmas surprise too much, especially since I’ll be showing you the entire Christmas concert later, so I’ll just show you the beginning. 😉

INCANTO DI NATALE!!

GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO

How wonderful, what a wonderful Christmas atmosphere with the stained-glass windows illuminating a heavy snowfall, and what a wonderful opening song, superbly performed by our treasures, showing off their beautiful voices.
I won’t suggest anything else related to Christmas, even though I’m eager to see more videos. But be patient, Christmas is just around the corner!
How lucky the Bulgarian audience was to have witnessed this magnificent concert! I’m truly happy for them.
But there’s some news.
Il Volo announces that they’ll be back in Mantua in September for three evenings of TUTTI PER UNO, which will be broadcast on Canale 5.
Ticket advance sales are already open.
First of all, I want to apologize for the delay in updating you.
My daughter is moving, and I’m busy helping her, and Il Volo has concerts so hectic it’s hard to keep up with them.
Lots of great news and so many successes. I think Il Volo is doing a truly fantastic European tour, and the love they’re receiving everywhere is priceless.
And what can I say about Incanto di Natale, a concert that looks fantastic and that we’ll be savoring in its entirety during these holidays?
I have another piece of good news (especially for me): the Brescia newspaper has published the names of the singers performing in Brescia, my hometown….and Il Volo is among them!!!! I’m so happy about this, but for now, it’s news that needs to be confirmed by Il Volo.
That’s all for now, next stop FRANCE!
See you soon: Daniela 🤗

IL VOLO TO PAVAROTTI 90 by Daniela

The evening of November 5th, here in Italy, an event was dedicated to Pavarotti: PAVAROTTI 90,  recorded at the Arena in Verona on September 30th, it was broadcast on television on Canale 5. The live event (which I already previewed with an amateur video filmed live during the evening) featured numerous guests, including Il Volo, who performed two songs, and now I’m re-proposing it to you with the Canale 5 video.
The evening was hosted by Michelle Hunziker, Il Volo will sing Capolavoro together with three sopranos and will follow with Granada.

MICHELLE = And now this special moment, in the spirit of “Pavarotti & Friends” (Pavarotti & Friends was a charity musical event organized for ten years between 1992 and 2003 in Modena by tenor Luciano Pavarotti and his second wife Nicoletta Mantovani to support humanitarian causes), six fantastic artists, three women and three men, will join their voices for a duet that will become a sextet.
Together with Marion Battistelli, Carmen Gianatasio, and Giulia Mazzola we welcome with applause: Il Volo! (Il Volo enters amid applause).
Ladies and gentlemen, at Pavarotti 90: CAPOLAVORO.
MICHELLE = Thank you to Marion Battistelli, Carmen Gianatasio, and Giulia Mazzola (the three sopranos exit).
Guys, come here to me, good evening. What a pleasure to see these kids that I saw when they were very little. We were on stage together at Wetten Das in Germany (2013), and now you’re a father, Ignazio!
IGNAZIO = Yes, now I’m a father, and it’s a wonderful thing.
MICHELLE = Why don’t you sleep anymore, you asked?
IGNAZIO = No, I don’t sleep anymore, but when you imagine becoming a father, you think… yes, I won’t sleep… and maybe you see it as a negative thing. Then you realize that even if you don’t sleep, and you watch him or give him milk when he wakes up in the morning, everything, every sacrifice is worth it in the end, you get the idea!
MICHELLE = It’s true!! Guys, I’m so happy to see you here. What’s it like to be here and sing for Luciano Pavarotti?
GIANLUCA = It’s a great privilege for us. It all started with Pavarotti, who brought this music out of the theater, even to the public, to a large audience all over the world, mixing various musical genres, and then came Maestro Andrea Bocelli. We’re proud to be able to bring this music to even the youngest audiences and to continue doing so, hopefully for the rest of our lives.
MICHELLE = And you’re doing it divinely, I’d say. I’m a huge fan of yours, you know that (it’s true, she’s a great friend and fan of Il Volo).
PIERO = Thank you! We never had the chance to meet Luciano Pavarotti, but we can say he inspired us, he was the one who inspired us to do what we’re doing, and we try to do it in the best way possible, with a smile, but above all with love and passion. (applause)
MICHELLE = Guys, I’d say you can come back to center stage because you have another big surprise for us, right?
IGNAZIO = Yes!
MICHELLE = You can head to the center of the stage, please (the song will be conducted by Placido Domingo, who is filmed hugging and replacing Maestro Leonardo De Amicis, who, I remind you, conducted our guys during Ti Lascio Una Canzone).
On the podium, an exceptional conductor: Placido Domingo (hugs with the guys).
Il Volo sings: GRANADA.
Il Volo conducted by Placido Domingo, the maestro who directed this beautiful Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Orchestra. These young men, full of energy and vitality, had the pleasure of being conducted by the maestro. (Long applause and bows from Il Volo and Domingo.)
What a spectacular moment, thank you!
#Repost Il Volo
It was a great honor for us to be able to pay tribute to Maestro Pavarotti.
Thank you.
These are beautiful thoughts captured backstage.
IGNAZIO = It was an emotional evening, also because Pavarotti means so much to us; he means inspiration. He’s one of those artists who, over the years, has taught us not to place limits on music or taste.
GIANLUCA = I believe it’s right to remember the man who moved the world. As long as we live, we will always strive to carry this music forward, with our voices, even for the younger generation.
PIERO = The man who brought opera to the general public, thank you, Luciano!
#Repost @carmengiannattasio.official
🎶 “…and this life with you is a Capolavoro.”
While I’m in Berlin for Tosca, I’m thrilled to relive the extraordinary evening at the @arenadiverona for Pavarotti 90, together with Il Volo, @mariambattistelli, and @giuliamazzola96, to celebrate Maestro Luciano Pavarotti.
His art, his humanity, and his voice continue to accompany us, inspire us, and unite worlds and generations. 💫
A truly beautiful event, a precious memory for someone who lived for music.
Our guys, as always, were impeccable: talented, handsome, elegant, and histrionic, because they know how to keep their cool even on important occasions.
Once again, you’re the best!

IL VOLO TO THIS IS ME by Daniela

It was almost a surprise; no one expected this wonderful participation from our TV crew on Silvia Toffanin’s show, THIS IS ME, aired on Canale 5 on October 29th.
The announcement of Il Volo’s participation was made only 2-3 days in advance, and in this short video, we see the crew themselves confirm it:

IGNAZIO = Hi everyone, see you at THIS IS ME.
The program was on Canale 5, and Canale 5 videos aren’t available outside of Italy, so I’d like to thank my friend Carmen, the administrator of Il Volo En Clase, who posted the entire video of Il Volo’s appearance, which I’ll now translate for you.
Along with Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca, Silvia’s living room also features two other guests: Gerry Scotti (a great host) and Gigi Buffon (a great goalkeeper).

SILVIA = Good evening and welcome to THIS IS ME! This evening, too, we celebrate the greats of music, entertainment, and sports. We begin with three unique voices, three artists who have sung on the world’s most important stages.
(A video of some of Il Volo’s highlights begins.) I’ll translate the lyrics for you:
IN 16-YEAR CAREER 9 WORLD TOURS
THEY’VE PERFORMED DUETS WITH THE GREATEST ARTISTS
OVER 22 MILLION COPIES WORLDWIDE:
IL VOLO
SILVIA = Il Volo!!
(Amidst the applause of the crowd, Gianluca, Piero, and Ignazio descend the stairs, shaking hands)
Welcome! Hi Gianluca, Piero, Ignazio. (Hugs and kisses)
IGNAZIO = How are you?
SILVIA = Good!
Welcome, please take a seat!
You started early, your destinies crossed when you were still teenagers, and from there began a dream that took you to the biggest stages and touring the world together, right? Even arguing sometimes, look!
IGNAZIO = Oh yes!
GIANLUCA = It’s a marriage.
SILVIA = More than a marriage.
(A video with the best moments of Il Volo’s career begins)
(* Voices in the video)
*IGNAZIO = You know when you open a drawer and think, what’s in there? (The drawer of dreams) I’d like to do this, that’s what we want to do (is to sing – Ignazio is embarrassed to see himself as a fifteen-year-old).
*PIERO = I had a wonderful childhood, I never lacked love. I’ve had a lot of experience with grandparents, who are the greatest privilege one can receive in life (applause).
*IGNAZIO= I grew up like the usual families who leave their homeland to seek their fortune. I was lively, I got up to all sorts of mischief.
*GIANLUCA=I’m very proud to be from Abruzzo.
I’ve always been a very curious child, a very restless child.
We didn’t sing together right away; we were very lucky to be on the same show as each other.
*IN 2009 THEY PARTICIPATED IN THE TALENT SHOW “TI LASCIO UNA CANZONE”
*GIANLUCA= We were the only kids who sang the same genre, then they decided to put us together, and from there our musical journey began.
*WITH “O SOLE MIO” THEY SING TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME
*GIANLUCA= And then life changed radically, from school to Los Angeles.
*PIERO = To We are the World for Haiti
*JUST ONE YEAR LATER, THEY WERE THE ONLY ITALIAN ARTISTS TO PARTICIPATE IN “WE ARE THE WORLD FOR HAITI”
*GIANLUCA = We had a childhood and adolescence that were completely out of the ordinary.
*GIANLUCA, IGNAZIO, AND PIERO BECOME “IL VOLO”.
*IGNAZIO = A good omen for flying to every city.
*THEY WERE JUST THREE TEENAGERS WHEN THEY DUETED WITH A GIANT OF MUSIC
*WITH BARBARA STREISAND ON TOUR THROUGH AMERICA AND CANADA IN 2012.
*IGNAZIO = Many kids want to follow this path, and we were lucky.
*GIANLUCA = We were lucky.
*IGNAZIO = Lucky to do all this.
SILVIA = (to Piero) From school to Barbara Streisand in an instant.
PIERO = Gigi’s video (Gigi Buffon was there with them; the video dedicated to him came before the Il Volo one) ends with Gigi saying, “Each of us is born with a destiny,” but this destiny must be accompanied by great luck, that of having people, parents, who help you discover your greatest calling. If you don’t have these people to help you in this discovery, it’s difficult to reach that destiny. (applause)
SILVIA = So your families have been important.
GIANLUCA = Yes.
PIERO = It was the greatest blessing.
SILVIA = Family.
GIANLUCA = We were talking about parents, and blessing is also having parents who don’t want their children to do what they (the parents) want, but to do what their children want to do.
IGNAZIO = Imagine, I wanted to be a veterinarian!
SILVIA = Oh, just think.
GERRY = But you were fine as a vet, you have the right physique.
IGNAZIO = “Let’s see what’s wrong with this little dog”… ha ha
SILVIA = And yet, the music was the star, Ignazio, and you can’t do without it.
Everything’s ready for you, to hear two wonderful songs…
PIERO = I thought that was for Ignazio (the fabrics are hanging from the ceiling, on which a dancer will be performing).
SILVIA = Marisol (the dancer) is here, and we’re saying goodbye. Everything’s already prepared for Capolavoro and Grande Amore: Il Volo! (The guys get up to go to the place where they’ll sing – applause)
IGNAZIO = (to the other guests) Do you want to come with us?
PIERO = Anyway, excuse me, but doesn’t Gigi Buffon look like the fourth member of Il Volo? (laughter)
SILVIA = That could be it.
GIGI = Starting tomorrow.
SILVIA = Starting tomorrow, Gigi, you have a future!
(The two songs begin, enlivened by beautiful choreography; at the end, there’s huge applause; all three guys turn to applaud the dancers)

PIERO = (to the dancers) Well done, guys!
GIANLUCA = Applause for the dancers.
PIERO = Well done, everyone. Thank you.
IGNAZIO = Thank you so much.
(The crowd stands for a standing ovation)
GERRY = Standing ovation, standing ovation, how wonderful, yes.
SILVIA = Very much.
GERRY = See, you ask me what I envy in life?
I wish I could sing 10 times worse than Il Volo and I wish I could save 100 times worse than Buffon, (laughter) and instead I end up being a TV presenter.
SILVIA = Come on, you didn’t do badly.
GERRY = Everyone has the grass on the other side. (meaning everyone appreciates what others do).

PIERO = You’re great, though.
GERRY = The biggest! (He means by size)
SILVIA(to Gerry) So, I didn’t just have you come from Milan, but I also had a surprise…
GERRY = What’s a panettone? (a typical Milanese Christmas cake)
SILVIA = No, no, always something to eat…
GERRY = La Modonnina (the famous statue of the Madonna that dominates Milan from the high spire of the Duomo)
SILVIA = That’s difficult…
GERRY = What did you have come??
SILVIA = The Wheel and Samira!! (Gerry’s evening program is THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE, a game show, Samira is the valet – applause, the beautiful Samira enters)
Samira = Good evening, good evening everyone, hello Silvia.
SILVIA = You brought The Wheel.
GERRY = We can go home, guys (he jokes, Samira hugs Gerry and says hello to Il Volo and Buffon).
SILVIA = No, you play.
GERRY = You stole it! (meaning The Wheel)
SILVIA = Yes, I stole the wheel.
GERRY = Are you crazy?
SILVIA = Yes, I even customized it because I’ve already formed the teams: Ignazio with Gigi since they have the same type, you two play together, Piero and Gianluca, come here.
SAMIRA = We’re here.
GERRY = They must be looking for her, you really stole her!
SILVIA = I stole Samira and The Wheel too.
GERRY = It’s a different wheel, guys (he means it’s just similar to the original)
PIERO = Hold on, everyone, I have to confess something.
SILVIA = You’re welcome.
PIERO= I travel with an iPad and I watch THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE every evening (applause), no, I didn’t do it for the applause, this wheel is rigged.
SILVIA = No, this is the wheel of wonders made especially for you.
PIERO = All that’s missing is BANKRUPTCY, EXPRESS… (the real themes of the wheel)
GERRY = Bravo!
PIERO = Where’s the EXPRESS? Where’s the joker?
SAMIRA = We have the joker in person (she means Gerry)
PIERO = And the prize?
GERRY = There will be a prize… but there’s the scoreboard!!
SILVIA = Yes, there’s the scoreboard!
SAMIRA = Really, but it’s beautiful, shall I go there?
SILVIA = Yes, go there, go Samira.
SAMIRA = I’m going, I’m going to the board.
IGNAZIO = I’ve never gotten anything right. Express.
GERRY = So, Sam (Samira), we’re live from the La Ruota studio.
SAMIRA = Yes.
GERRY = Now a cameraman is focusing on the board where a sentence will appear that they tell me will be titled: GERRY and SILVIA. (The game works like this: the wheel spins to decide who goes first. You name the consonants, and if they’re in the sentence, the boxes light up and Samira turns them over. At the end, you have to guess the hidden sentence.)
GERRY = So, let’s make Buffon turn. (Gigi)
GIGI = Clockwise or counterclockwise?
PIERO = Like this.
GERRY = Like this and let’s see who starts.
Easy, don’t break it, it’s fake.
GERRY = They’ll start saying a consonant…Ignazio and Gigi start.
GIGI = I turned, he tells a consonant (Ignazio).
GERRY = Audience, don’t suggest, it’s already easy.
PIERO = A consonant.
IGNAZIO = N
GERRY = N of Naples.
SAMIRA = Good, let’s see. One at random.
GERRY = Let’s see if it’s there.
SAMIRA = One,two, three. Three, come on! Not bad.
Let’s see if it works (the scoreboard), it works here too.
GERRY = Good, good.
As long as you have the game, you go ahead, say another one.
GIGI = S, the S for Savona.
SAMIRA = No, the S for Samira, sorry….
GIGI = The S for Silvia, then….
SAMIRA = Yes, and for Silvia.
SILVIA = S for Samira!!
GERRY = We only have two.
SAMIRA = There are two.
GERRY = As long as they keep the game (that is, they guess the consonants), they go ahead.
IGNAZIO = T for Tuna.
GERRY = The T for Tuna….
SILVIA = Let’s see….
SAMIRA = One
GERRY = There is, there’s only one.
Oh my, Silvia and Gerry, look, it’s difficult with the board, it’s not easy….Gigi?
GIGI = I have to find a consonant that’s a little out of the ordinary, let’s go with the F.
GERRY = The F.
GIGI = The F for fire.
GERRY = There’s that too.
SAMIRA = One
GIGI = It saved us.
GERRY = I’d put a vowel.
SAMIRA = A vowel, come on, good job.
IGNAZIO = Why can you do that?
GERRY = Yes, you can buy it, I’ll give you 500 euros (laughter – in the real game, vowels have to be paid).
IGNAZIO = It’s a bit expensive, damn! A of damn (in Italian A di Ammazza).
GERRY = A for Ammazza.
SAMIRA = Let’s see if there’s an A… there is, there is…
GERRY = Well done, well done and lucky, but only they (meaning Ignazio and Gigi) are playing.
GIGI = But can they (Piero and Gianluca) play?
GERRY = Not as long as you keep winning.
GIGI = Then I’ll take a chance.
GERRY = Ask for the W.
GIGI = A G for Gigi.
GERRY = A G for Gigi.
PIERO = There isn’t one.
GERRY = It’s your turn (Piero and Gianluca)
PIERO = The L.
GERRY = The L for Luna.
SAMIRA = Let’s see?…two.
GERRY = A couple, go on, Samira…
SAMIRA = Come on, we’re getting closer.
GERRY = Silvia and Gerry….one sentence, the audience is murmuring, it’s your turn
GIANLUCA = The C.
GERRY = The C for Como….is there? Yes, there is, but only one. (Ignazio laughs), don’t disturb…
PIERO = Can I call a vowel?
SILVIA = Yes.
PIERO = An E, the E for Empoli.
GERRY = Let’s see with the E, look, he (Piero) seems ready to give the answer.
SAMIRA = I see him as an expert, there are four.
GIANLUCA = Be careful….
GERRY = Come on, ask for another one, you can do it.
PIERO = Another vowel, the I.
GERRY = The I.
SAMIRA = Let’s see…
IGNAZIO = Okay, the I.
GERRY = There is, there is, and the word Felice is there.
GIANLUCA = UNA FELICE, yes, exactly.
IGNAZIO = I understood the first sentence and the last one.
GERRY = But first they (Piero and Gian) have to make a mistake.
PIERO = The D of Domodossola.
SAMIRA = Two, two.
PIERO = The consonant R.
GERRY = Yes, we’re there…
SILVIA = Yes, go…
SAMIRA = Are we there?
SILVIA = Now it’s easy.
GERRY = The crowd is shouting, soon, say it.
GIANLUCA = We’ve got it, we’ve got it.
PIERO = A HAPPY REUNION FROM THE TIMES OF WORD OF MOUTH (applause and hugs)
PIERO = It’s done!
GERRY = It’s obvious you play, well done!
SILVIA = It’s done, thank you!! Well done.
GERRY = Well done, Samira.
SILVIA = Let’s look at the photo Gerry, it’s us, look how young we were. Too many years ago Gerry.
(The photo of Gerry and Silvia appears in 1999. Gerry Scotti hosted a game show called PASSAPAROLA, which aired on Canale 5, and Silvia was one of the showgirls called Letterine. For Silvia Toffanin, it was her first appearance; she was 20 years old. Piersilvio Berlusconi, the young son of the then owner of the television network, saw her and began courting her. Since then, they have been a couple and have had two children. Piersilvio is now CEO of all Mediaset television networks.)
IGNAZIO = But you were a little girl.
GERRY = She was a little girl, look, how embarrassing, I was so old.
SILVIA = But you look great.
GIANLUCA = He’s Benjamin Button in real life.
SILVIA = Yes. Thanks, Samira, bring the wheel.
SAMIRA = I’ll take it back.
GERRY = (to the audience) Everyone knew (the solved sentence), but you didn’t suggest it, well done.
SAMIRA = Hello everyone, thank you, you’re a great inspiration.
GERRY = Go, Samira, we have to go to work later. Long live Samira.
SILVIA = It’s time to see your extraordinary career that’s taken you all over the world. Look!

GERRY = Beautiful
SILVIA = So many things.
GERRY = Beautiful, beautiful.
GIANLUCA = Thanks for this video.
SILVIA = It’s you.
IGNAZIO = And then when I look at myself, you think…is it us?
GIANLUCA = Is it us? Let’s wake up for a moment… (it’s like a dream)
SILVIA = It’s you…and all those people…
IGNAZIO = But because, having started very young, that is, very early, we experienced everything with great naiveté.
I mean, I remember when we first arrived in Los Angeles, we’d go to parties where Ryanna, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio were there, then Cindy Crawford would come by, and I… wow, I was 16…
GIANLUCA = We didn’t even speak English back then…
IGNAZIO = No, I just spoke like that… (he imitates foaming at the mouth)
SILVIA = You were catapulted into a huge world, bigger than you.
IGNAZIO = Yes, and it’s crazy because then we’d go home and tell our friends, and they… no, no…
SILVIA = But it was all true.
IGNAZIO = And it was all true.
GERRY = It’s really you.
PIERO = Can I add something?
SILVIA = You’re welcome!
PIERO = We’ve had the opportunity to see some of our experiences, but recently we’ve organized some events, some evenings with the program TUTTI PER UNO, which are dedicated evenings in prime time on Canale 5. If three young people like us have the opportunity to achieve these things, it’s also thanks to those who give us the opportunity to make them come true, and this network is allowing us so much. It’s allowing us to realize great dreams, because we desire so much, we imagine, but then to make them come true, we need someone who gives us the opportunity to do so. (Long applause – it’s a thank you to Mediaset for allowing them to organize the wonderful TUTTI PER UNO events.)
SILVIA = And I’m happy to be here to tell you your dream, Gerry’s dream, Gigi Buffon’s dream.
Everything’s ready for you to sing THE SOUND OF SILENCE.
GIANLUCA = We dedicate this to Gerry.
GERRY = Noooo, it’s one of my favorites!!
I can ruin it for you… (sing with them)
IGNAZIO = If you want, yes.
GERRY = Or I’ll send Buffon. (who’s out of tune)
SILVIA = Il Volo. (applause, the song begins)
(applause and standing ovation)
PIERO = Thank you.
SILVIA = Thank you, come on.
GERRY = Well done, and well done to the dance troupe, obviously, (people cheering the guys on), well done, well done.
SILVIA = Thank you for being here, thank you for telling your story.
GERRY = It was wonderful! So I have to tell you something, Silvia. Usually, as you know, I get emotional about things that concern me. This evening I’m happy because following their stories made me as emotional as I did with my own. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
It was a beautiful evening. This show, hosted in a very natural and kind way by Silvia, highlighted the best moments of Il Volo’s career, highlighted their beautiful words, and honored their voices.
It was truly a wonderful show, followed by a huge home audience, which earned the highest audience share of the evening.
Our guys were truly genuine and very familiar, they felt at ease in Silvia’s living room. Well done, guys.
But I want to finish even more beautifully with this very sweet shot.❤️💙❤️

TORINO IS FANTASTIC AND MORE by Daniela

As I told you, there is no rest for our three guys, we left them in Bucharest and immediately after they ran home to Italy, to Turin for a beautiful performance, among many other singers, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, as part of the feast of San Giovanni.
The participation of the public was incredible, as you can see from the photo below.
It’s a really hot Italian summer and these events in the square attract a lot of people, especially a lot of young people, so I’m very happy when Il Volo joins in on this type of performance, moreover the event was performed live on June 24th, but Mediaset, in particular Canale 5 broadcast it on June 29th.
Here is the moment of Il Volo.
Il Volo sang three songs:
CAPOLAVORO
GRANDE AMORE
NESSUN DORMA
I start by attaching the two videos from Canale 5, I hope that most of you can see them because they are of excellent quality. The presenter of the evening is Gerry Scotti who introduced Il Volo with beautiful words that I propose to you immediately.
G.SCOTTI= The next ones are artists ambassadors of Italian music in the world.
They are much loved artists with crystalline talent. They are at home on Canale 5, also because they rarely see their real home because they are always around the world with their fantastic concerts, but tonight they are here with us, with you: Il Volo!
(At the end of Grande Amore Gerry Scotti enters the stage and sings with Il Volo. The audience singing with our guys is incredible)

G.SCOTTI= We are about to listen to a timeless masterpiece of Italian opera, and the reason why in introducing you I literally defined you “the youngest ambassadors of Italian music in the world”.
By now you have the success you deserve and the applause of this square is yet another demonstration because I followed your shows on television and you already knew it.
PIERO= Thanks Gerry.
G.SCOTTI= So, the three microphone stands are already positioned, everything is ready, please gentlemen (to the guys) I will make an official introduction: Ladies and gentlemen, it is the first time I make an introduction with this voice, from Turandot by Giacomo Puccini Il Volo sings NESSUN DORMA.

And for those who can’t watch the Canale 5 videos, here is the video of Capolavoro and Grande Amore and Nessun Dorma published by Il Volo en Clase, which we thank.

And now some fan-made videos.

Towards the end of the evening, a young dancer, Francesco, also performed on stage, performing his dance to the music of WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER sung by Il Volo, so that this song was also heard by the audience.
A series of beautiful photos.
The newspapers talked about the Turin event. I’ll translate for you what they wrote about Il Volo in the DILEI newspaper.
Il Volo, Nessun Dorma, thrilling. Rating 9
They have toured the world with their voices, but seeing them on an Italian stage always has a special charm. The guys from Il Volo arrive in perfectly coordinated black suits, sobriety and class in every detail. They sing with pathos, passion, impeccable technique. They thrill and warm the soul, so much so that Gerry Scotti can’t resist and goes up on stage to join them. But the highlight is Nessun Dorma: a textbook performance, powerful, vibrant, that makes more than one person in the square’s legs tremble. Il Volo confirms itself as the perfect bridge between opera and pop, and on an evening like this they know how to be the absolute protagonists without overdoing it.
But there is still more to see, because on June 26 Il Volo participates in an event on Lake Como, and precisely at Villa d’Este. Nothing has leaked about the evening, Villa d’Este published this press release the following day:
“What can we say about last night? The anniversary of our 150 seasons of emotions deserved to be celebrated with such style and joy! Many thanks to ALL our Guests (not only those who joined yesterday’s celebrations) and to our wonderful staff who made this fairy tale come true.”
(The photo attached to the press release was not taken during the evening but at the same event in which Il Volo participated a couple of years ago.)
Instead our guys sent us these photos taken in the beautiful gardens of Villa d’Este.
But the month of June is not over yet and so from Lake Como, off to Naples on June 28th, and exactly in the beautiful gulf of Sorrento, to the luxurious and exclusive Maya Beach Experience for a private event, of which I can offer you these video fragments.

Il Volo’s June commitments are over, but Gianluca still finds time to attend the Festival della Gentilezza in Roseto, on June 29th.
Congratulations Gianluca!!
Gianluca’s speech lasted an hour and is a long, rather philosophical speech about science and the sacred.
The video I propose to you was posted by LA LUMERA and the subtitles were added by Donalee Dragna, thanks Donalee, great job!!
And finally the month of June is over.
I would say that it has been very busy for our guys and so I hope that now they have the deserved rest, also here in Italy it is really hot.
Congratulations to our guys for having honored all their planned and unexpected commitments in the best way.
Piero, Gianluca, Ignazio recharge your batteries with a long summer break, your fans are waiting for you for all the many future concerts!!
