PIERO = What a pleasure it is to be here! We did a show in October, and when we returned to Italy, they called us from Argentina and told us we had to come back, so we came back again. Thank you!
It’s a great honor for us to be here on this world tour because, as you know, we’re celebrating 17 years together, and this is thanks to your support from the very beginning, when the three of us started singing together. Thank you.
GIANLUCA = It’s truly a great honor to be able to bring you the beautiful singing we started singing when we were 14 or 15 years old in 2009.
And this is a dream because we’ve been here at Long Tennis, then Gran Rex, then Luna Park (all places where they’ve held concerts), and now twice at the Movistar Arena. It’s a great honor, a thrill, one of the greatest thrills of our lives, with all our love for Argentina. It’s a pleasure as a person and as an artist, and an honor to sing for all of you. Thank you so much, and have a great concert everyone.
A nice article by ANSA LATINA that I will translate for you.
Il Volo brought home to Argentina, Italian music and various artists
The lyrical trio passed through Buenos Aires in the country of its world tour, next in Chile
The Italian operatic trio Il Volo returned to Argentina to continue their 17th anniversary celebration with a sold-out performance at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, as part of their international “World Tour.” Their show combined a repertoire that included pieces from the “Italian cultural heritage” and tributes to figures such as Ennio Morricone, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Leonard Cohen. In a record-breaking return—less than six months after their last visit—Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble surprised the audience with the first live performance of “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” which unleashed the most intense ovation of the night and concluded with the three singers unfurling the Argentine flag on stage.
Backed by an orchestra of about 30 musicians, the evening began with the Neapolitan classic “O Sole Mio,” immortalized by Luciano Pavarotti, and continued with epic pieces such as “The Gladiator” and “Granada.” Beyond the vocal performance, the audience appreciated the chemistry between the performers and the relaxed tone of the presentation: between songs, the artists exchanged jokes and anecdotes that enlivened the show. “Seventeen years together is longer than many marriages,” joked Boschetto, before pointing out that the key to the group is “respect, loyalty, and, of course, love.” “We love each other very much,” added Ginoble, eliciting a prolonged ovation.
One of the most moving moments was the tribute to Ennio Morricone, including his celebrated theme “Sé” from the film “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso.” The repertoire continued with versions of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra and “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, a song during which the trio invited the audience to turn on their phone flashlights, completely illuminating the venue. The trio, winners of multiple platinum records and international awards such as the Sanremo Festival, also included in their setlist the famous aria from Rigoletto “La Donna è Mobile,” “Funiculì Funiculà,” a song that brought the entire audience to their feet, and Zucchero’s classic “Miserere.”
In the two-hour recital, the closing was marked by the trio’s characteristic vocal power, performing songs from their album “Ad Astra” such as “Opera” and “Capolavoro”, followed by their hit “Grande amore” and “Il mondo”.
The final farewell came with “Nessun Dorma,” the closing aria from Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot, which brought the entire audience to its feet. After their performance in the Argentine capital, Il Volo will continue their international tour on March 27 in San Francisco de Mostazal, Chile, before continuing with a series of shows in various cities across the United States.
“Today wasn’t just a concert… it was an experience you could feel. ✨
Soaring voices, impeccable staging, and an audience that lived up to a simply unforgettable evening. 🙌🏻
From the heart of @granarenamonticello, we experienced a show that reminded us why live music is everything. 🌹Thank you for being part of this magical evening with @ilvolomusic.”
A night that doesn’t explain, if you feel.🌹
@ilvolomusic o llegó al @granarenamonticello y lo convirtió en algo más que un concierto. 🎤🤩 There was emotion from the first note, constant chicken sound and an audience completely entertained by three voices that simply were at another level.
Because there are shows… and there are nights that they want. And this, without doubt, was one of them.
“🎶✨ A night full of emotion and great voices was experienced at the Grande Arena Monticello with Il Volo.
The Italian trio captivated the audience with their impressive talent and a repertoire that thrilled everyone in attendance.❤️👏
Thank you for being part of this unforgettable concert 🎤✨
¡Scapa un Monticello! 🥳🎉”
And so, the last concert in South America has come to an end, and everything went flawlessly, with the participation of so many people who wanted to have fun and feel united by one thing: music!
Congratulations, guys, and now a quick trip home to rest before starting the U.S. tour, where you’re eagerly awaited.
Il Volo triumphs in Zurich: a memorable concert at the Hallenstadion and the announcement of their new 2026-2027 world tour.
The Hallenstadion provided the backdrop for an intense evening where the audience attentively followed a musical journey through opera, pop, and Italian and international songs, presented with elegance and stylistic coherence.
One of the evening’s highlights was the announcement of their new world tour, announced directly from the stage. Il Volo will return to Zurich on October 24, 2027, at 8:00 PM, again at the Hallenstadion, for a new date included in their 2027 tour. Tickets are not yet available, but Tuttoitalia, as official media partner, will provide timely updates on the opening of pre-sales.
The official photos of the performance, taken by our photographer Luca Greco, are available here in a dedicated gallery that documents the evening’s atmosphere in detail:
From their television origins to the international scene
The story of Il Volo began in 2009 during the program “Ti lascio una canzone,” where the three young artists stood out for their vocal quality and were subsequently professionally supported by manager Michele Torpedine. Their debut album, “Il Volo,” was well received in the United States and entered the Billboard Top Ten, launching a career studded with global tours, prestigious collaborations with artists such as Barbra Streisand and Placido Domingo, a triumph at the Sanremo Music Festival, and international recognition such as the Marcel Besançon Award at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
An ever-evolving musical identity
Over the years, the trio has developed an artistic vision that blends Italian opera tradition with elements of contemporary pop. From projects dedicated to the Three Tenors to tributes to Ennio Morricone, to more recent productions such as Ad Astra International Edition and the single “Tra le onde,” Il Volo continues to evolve without straying from its distinctive style.
The new world tour and the return to Zurich
Yesterday’s concert offered a preview of the atmosphere and artistic direction of the announced tour. The date of October 24, 2027 in Zurich will be the next official date with the Swiss public and is part of a particularly extensive tour spanning Europe, the United States, and Latin America.
At the Zurich concert there was also a very special fan, little Gabriele with his mother Michelle, who came to see his father Ignazio for the first time.❤️💙
In this video during rehearsals, Gabriele is in Ignazio’s arms and with his uncles Piero who compliments him and Gianluca who records everything on video!! 😍😍😍
How sweet, but you will feel even more tender seeing these beautiful photos of Gabriele, mom and dad. 💙❤️❤️
Congratulations to Ignazio and Michelle for this beautiful “masterpiece,” and congratulations to Il Volo for this wonderful tour that’s stopping in many European cities.
December 14 Lisbon
The concert was held at the Meo Arena.
But the next concert is in Portugal, so from Spain to Switzerland and then back through Portugal, then Greece and back to Spain. How do they do it???? In fact, they themselves posted a photo showing them flying on a small private plane.
In the meantime, 15 outdoor concerts have been announced in Italy this summer and my Brescia has also been confirmed and of course I already have the ticket, second row!!
More European concert dates have been announced for 2027……wow guys, what a tour de force you’re in for!!
Another piece of news is that on December 13th here in Italy on Canale 5 the first concert of Mantua 2025 was re-broadcast and for the next two Saturdays we will see the second and third TUTTI PER UNO concerts held in Mantua this year, so a good television binge of Il Volo!!
But the beauty is that wherever you go, you’re eagerly awaited and cheered, and this fills all of us who’ve always followed you with pride, as well as the new fans just getting to know you.
Full steam ahead!!
See you soon for the final three concerts and best wishes for Christmas!
The Italians paid tribute and called for peace during a show on their Latin American tour, which will now take them to Chile and Peru.
A magical evening was enjoyed by the Italian trio Il Volo, whose Tuesday evening recital at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires celebrated its members’ nearly 17-year career with jokes, tributes, and a call to action for peace.
As part of their “Live in Concert” world tour, which also includes stops in Chile and Peru, after their stop in Brazil, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble delighted Argentine audiences with their unmistakable musical style, blending operatic technique with the freshness of contemporary pop in a varied and trilingual repertoire (Italian, Spanish, and English).
“Good evening, it’s a great pleasure to be here in Argentina; we’re finally here.
“We want to thank you because this year we’re celebrating almost 17 years together, and this can only be done thanks to your love and support,” Piero said in his first conversation with the packed audience, after opening the show with “Il Gladiatore,” “Grande Amore,” and “Opera.”
“You’ve seen us grow. The first time we sang here in Buenos Aires was in 2012, at the Lawn Tennis Club, then at the Gran Rex and Luna Park, and now it’s a joy to fill an arena with all of you after so many years of career,” added Gianluca.
“Your measurements are the same as always,” joked Ignazio, as if to show off his few centimeters larger than his teammates.
“It’s a pleasure to return to Buenos Aires. Our goal is to bring our Italian culture,” he emphasized.
After performing the famous “Granada,” Il Volo launched into another hit, “Who Wants to Life Forever,” a cover of the British band Queen included on the soundtrack to the film “Highlander.”
A series of solos followed, with Boschetto performing “Memory,” a song the trio performed in 2012 with Barbra Streisand, before giving way to Ginoble for “The Music of the Night” and Piero for “E Lucevan Le Stelle.”
The evening featured tributes to greats such as Ennio Morricone, who performed “The Ecstasy of Gold,” composed for the film “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” and the classic “Novo Cinema Paradiso,” featured in the repertoire of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Oscar-winning film for Best Foreign Language Film. Luciano Pavarotti was also honored.
Boschetto was the friendliest of the group (he cracked jokes and even imitated world soccer star Leo Messi with his “You look like a fool… go there!”and also recalled his time at the Sanremo Music Festival), but not the most thoughtful, as he prayed for those who are no longer with us, for peace, and reminded everyone that there are so many people who suffer, including those who experience war.
The members of Il Volo were very friendly and welcoming, and they also appreciated their fans, with whom they shared their good vibes, always expressing their gratitude for their support and for everything they were going through.
The show included a set dedicated to Latin music, such as “El Reloj” by Mexican Roberto Cantoral, made famous by greats such as Lucho Gatica, Armando Manzanero, and Luis Miguel, among many others, and “Historia de un amor,” another romantic classic composed by Panamanian Carlos Eleta Almarán.
The repertoire included Zucchero’s “Miserere,” Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way,” and “Hallelujah.” These were then joined by “La Donna e Mobile,” the tenor’s famous aria from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto,” and “Funiculíi Funiculá.” In just over two hours and accompanied by a solid orchestra, Il Volo closed the evening with a flourish with a performance of “O sole mio,” “Nessun Dorma,” and “Grande Amore,” eliciting a standing ovation from the audience, enthralled by their vocal virtuosity.
Il Volo bid farewell to Buenos Aires, where they announced their return in March 2026 with an unforgettable evening as part of their tour, which continues this Thursday in Chile and continues in Peru on the 18th, before returning to Europe, where they will perform in several cities.
And again, beautiful words published by the ENTRE NOTAS Y ACORDES agency which deals with music and was present at the concert.
“With their unmistakable blend of opera and pop, the Italian trio once again captivated their Buenos Aires audience with another unforgettable night at the Movistar Arena. Il Volo took the stage with that elegance that seems to defy time. Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca opened with powerful songs, a supportive orchestra, and an expectant audience, which transformed from a murmur to a choral explosion. There were moments of intimacy—when the Italian songs floated over dimly lit silhouettes—and others of grandiloquence, with crescendos that raised goosebumps even among those who had expected mere entertainment. In the end, it wasn’t just an ovation, it was a sonorous gratitude: a shared song, radiant faces, and the feeling that what unites them—that promise of vocal beauty—had been fulfilled once again. Il Volo didn’t just sing: they made art beat. “
And Movistar Arena Argentina posted this:
“@ilvolomusic gave us a magical night ✨
Three voices that thrilled every corner of the Arena 🥹🎤
Thank you for bringing your art to our home 🫶🏻 See you next year 😉”
These three photos of Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are truly beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A very warm and affectionate welcome and great success in Venezuela, but we’re off to Chile right away.
This is a funny video where Gianluca has to start singing Aranjuez and doesn’t have a microphone!! 🤣😂
This was the last concert.
A special thank you from Il Volo to all their fans for the warm affection they once again showed by filling the arenas.
Il Volo has published these words and these beautiful summary images of this Latam tour!!
“Thank you, Latin America. ❤️
Every city, every face, every hug. Emotions we will carry with us forever.
An unforgettable tour.
And this isn’t the end. See you in 2026 with more shows!”
While in Brazil, Piero Ignazio and Gianluca were interviewed by RADIO RITMO ROMANTICA, a radio station broadcasting in Peru.
It was a pleasant interview, and I hope you can turn on the subtitles (I had a hard time). If not, please let me know and I’ll publish the full translation in my next post.
And so this Latam tour has come to an end. They’ve been incredible days, filled with love and numerous sold-out shows, almost every one of them!!
The affection these three guys manage to inspire with their fans, but also with people meeting them for the first time, is incredible.
An artist can be great, but charisma isn’t for everyone, and our guys are very charismatic, friendly, sincere, and down-to-earth… UNIQUE!
See you soon: Daniela 🤗
