Just FYI – for those attending the Sat, Feb 27 show at the Detroit Fox Theatre…
I just talked to someone that is a regular usher at the Fox and they are ushering the night of the Il Volo concert. She gave me some additional info on what to expect, etc. She said you can bring in a bag or purse to carry.
They will have merchandise to purchase – Il Volo has come out with some new things – t-shirts, mugs, pins, etc. So, you can put them in one of your bags, not sure if they will hand out bags? I imagine, so? You can bring your cell phone/camera, as we know Il Volo allows pictures. She said of course nothing professional/recording devices. She said the ushers do not take things away from you, unless they are abused, but they will ask you to put them away, if necessary. She said 7p is a good time to get there, but they won’t necessarily open the doors to the actual seating area at 7p. Likely, it’s about a half hour before, maybe around 7:30p, but she said there is no set time.
You will be ushered to your seat, if you have the more front rows/orchestra pit area. You can mill around and go up to the mezzanine, to look around, but be sure to take your ticket with you, in case someone asks. Just tell them you are looking and tell them you have tickets on the main floor, etc. She said to be sure not to get in the “line” for seating if you are looking around, or you will get stuck there – just go around. She says you can take pictures before the concert starts. There is also an elevator to get to the mezzanine. Doesn’t sound like security will be a big deal, but of course they will do a bag/purse check. We will need to mill around the back lobby area until the actual theatre doors open. I’m still planning on taking just my phone/camera/wallet thing. Not sure if I will buy anything or not. I want to be “object free” to stand and clap and not have to worry about anything falling or dropping, or losing anything!
Not sure what kind of line there will be at the “will call” so if your tickets are at will call, may want to be sure to get there early. 🙂 see you all there!

One suggestion on ticket sales for the Vegas concert: You can buy on line at Ticketmaster, or via the Pearl Theatre or right at the box office. But recently I found that, if you are a member of Il Volo website you can go on line at http://www.ilvolomusic.com and get the tickets cheaper there. If you are not a member of Il Volo then I suggest that you go to that site and register with them.
Ha! When we refer to the “old site” that’s where it was. Didn’t work well. That’s why this site was born. Hopefully it’s better now.

I have a question. What would be the best size to use to print out a badge for the Laynard? What type of paper do should you use to print it on? Is it best to have it laminated. I went to Office Depot yesterday and I really did not see anything to put a badge in for the Laynard in their store.
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on it. They told me to email the picture to their store and then they could help me.
Hey Jeanie, The exact sizes above are the best fit, IF your looking at this with a regular size computer. If not, Lanyard is 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches, badge is 3 x 2. Office depot should have had both items you’re looking for. I found lanyards, clear holders to attach to lanyards and clear plastic badge covers at Staples in the isle with the “HELLO I’m____” badges. A regular heavy stock paper (real thin cardboard) without lamination will be fine for the print since it slips into a holder.
Emailing the picture is the best way. Colors are better too.

The Fan Faire will have a lanyard also with a 6×4 size I.D. card – that will have to be used to gain entry into the conference and banquet room.
I still have an extra ticket for the concert in Las Vegas. I paid $200.00 for it, but will sell it for $100.00. It is a floor ticket, area 103,row M, seat 19
( I think that is one seat over from the aisle)
Myron, having lived in Las Vegas and knowing how strict the hotel/casinos are by what you can and can’t do on their properties, do you think they would allow me to sell the ticket to someone who would be looking for a ticket around the box office area?
This is assuming they will be sold out.

Ladies, I’m ready for tonight. Here in Cleveland, Ohio the beautiful and talented young men of Il Volo will be singing. Later the M&G. I have my badge on. I know I will think I’m in heaven when I listen to these angelic voices singing in person!!!!! Oh My Goodness!!! I must stay calm, don’t want to get to excited. Have fun everyone! Thanks!
Now I’m back, it was like a dream come true! I was able to see them in person, hear them in person and meet them in person!!! Wow what a thrill! I almost pinch Ignazio as I was approaching them and saying to him and the rest, “I finally get to meet you”. I extended my hand and shook Ignazio’s hand than I got out my paper and said to all of them you are my birthday present, I heard them say, “oh look and ahh”, Piero said, “Happy Birthday”; by then I’m in position with my paper in front of me, the photographer took the pictures, I think I shook their hands also but I was talking all alone while getting set up for the pictures. I told Gianluca that his birthday was on the 11th and my will be on the 27th, and then I said to him “Oh! You are so cute”… and kept on walking because the next person was ready for the picture. It was all so fast. But it was worth the time, money and all; I would do it again in a heartbeat. I do remember looking in the eyes of Gianluca and of Ignazio’s but I do not remember looking a Piero’s eyes. That will be for the next time.
I met a young women who has been to 13 Il Volo’s concerts. That is what she does. By tomorrow she will be in 15 of them. She does like you chasing these wonderful good looking guys all over. Have fun, enjoy.

The majority of the crowd (at the State Theater in Cleveland, Ohio) was older. At least that is what I saw. They enjoyed the concert very much. I saw many Italian American. Ignazio and Piero did their skits and made everyone laugh. At one point Piero asked Ignazio’s mother, who was sitting in the crowd with Gianluca’s mother, to say something to his son, because he was not behaving. Piero introduce the mothers and they got applauded also. He was looking for his father, but was not there and Ignazio said he was cooking pasta. I saw Barbara in the M&G. It was a wonderful night.
also Piero’s Dad was there – it just took him a little longer to be spotted by the Group and he did stand up and was applauded. Also at the very beginning of show I thought Gianluca was going to have to sing as a solo= Piero and Ignascio were laughing uncontrollably and almost missed their song cue.

Myron has been working on this for a very long time, and IL VOLO’s management understands his dedication (from my understanding).
From my observation of IL VOLO’s management team, it looks like they don’t like to talk about or announce anything until it is a done deal (which seems wise). That said, I’m guessing holding this in our hearts and our hopes is best, so it doesn’t reach the level of rumor.
We can hope, dream, pray, envision all we like!
And then celebrate when the time comes. Yes, Myron?!
