Our anniversary month is drawing to a close. It’s been so great reading everyone’s memories and comments. We’ve loved reading about the convention in Minnesota, reviewing our last year and dusting off our original background. I know my board sisters and I enjoyed reliving how we got the blog started and how much our lives have changed since then. We hope you have too.
Before we end the chapter on our first year, we have one more activity we hope you’ll like:
ASK YOUR BOARD!!!
For the next three days, we invite you to send us a question you would like to ask about us. It can be a question for the board as a whole, directed toward one member specifically or about some aspect of the website/featured piece/etc. At the end of the three days, we will go through them, pick a few, and then we will post them with the answers later this month.
Sound fun? We hope so! E-mail us your question using the “Contact Us” Form until August 26th, and then watch for the post!
EDIT: Deadline to submit questions has been extended to August 28th. Get your questions in! 😀
I tried to tell Jenny that there were too many wonderful comments to try to categorize, compile and compare. I told her all we can do is re-read, re-listen and re-chill. She didn’t listen to me (no one ever does). So, Jenny has done this amazing video for us. I can’t imagine all of my favorite things in one spot. Thank you so much Jenny. ~Marie

Thank you all so much for your wonderful contributions to this challenge. I relived all the “moments” and found new things to melt over each time! The most mentioned song was El Mundo, followed by El Triste and No Puede Ser, then O Sole Mio, Night and Day, We Are Love, Tous Les Visages, the National Anthem (Pittsburgh and Boston) Granada and Maria (both solo and combined versions). Most of their other songs were mentioned at least once. A lot of touching moments were mentioned too, so for those and the earlier songs that are not out on CD, here is a you-tube compilation to have fun with.
Jenny (tjnewman) has come up with a fun challenge!
Here, in part, is her explanation:
“Marie, it would be fun just to see how many of us like the same moments, or how many come up with different ones that would make the rest of us stop and say “Oh yes!” It would allow us to listen to the songs through someone else’s ears and maybe discover new special moments.”
Jenny will compile your “chills”. (Plus it gives me a chance to share three more of my concert photo’s.) ~Marie
Jenny’s challenge:
I love everything the boys sing, but every now and then there is a “give you chills moment”. Some of mine are:
The last “Maria” in the version they sing together. The warmth in Piero’s voice in the first verse of Angel.Angels on stage
The snarl in Ignazio’s voice in Tenerezza. Gianluca in Notte Stellata – the first line with that beautiful high note, then the low, deep, “e toi pensare” later. ~Jenny
