The time for the European Tour has already arrived. Our guys are destined to travel constantly, perhaps that’s why they chose such an appropriate name: Il Volo = The Flight.
The Italians paid tribute and called for peace during a show on their Latin American tour, which will now take them to Chile and Peru.
A magical evening was enjoyed by the Italian trio Il Volo, whose Tuesday evening recital at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires celebrated its members’ nearly 17-year career with jokes, tributes, and a call to action for peace.
As part of their “Live in Concert” world tour, which also includes stops in Chile and Peru, after their stop in Brazil, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble delighted Argentine audiences with their unmistakable musical style, blending operatic technique with the freshness of contemporary pop in a varied and trilingual repertoire (Italian, Spanish, and English).
“Good evening, it’s a great pleasure to be here in Argentina; we’re finally here.
“We want to thank you because this year we’re celebrating almost 17 years together, and this can only be done thanks to your love and support,” Piero said in his first conversation with the packed audience, after opening the show with “Il Gladiatore,” “Grande Amore,” and “Opera.”
“You’ve seen us grow. The first time we sang here in Buenos Aires was in 2012, at the Lawn Tennis Club, then at the Gran Rex and Luna Park, and now it’s a joy to fill an arena with all of you after so many years of career,” added Gianluca.
“Your measurements are the same as always,” joked Ignazio, as if to show off his few centimeters larger than his teammates.
“It’s a pleasure to return to Buenos Aires. Our goal is to bring our Italian culture,” he emphasized.
After performing the famous “Granada,” Il Volo launched into another hit, “Who Wants to Life Forever,” a cover of the British band Queen included on the soundtrack to the film “Highlander.”
A series of solos followed, with Boschetto performing “Memory,” a song the trio performed in 2012 with Barbra Streisand, before giving way to Ginoble for “The Music of the Night” and Piero for “E Lucevan Le Stelle.”
The evening featured tributes to greats such as Ennio Morricone, who performed “The Ecstasy of Gold,” composed for the film “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” and the classic “Novo Cinema Paradiso,” featured in the repertoire of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Oscar-winning film for Best Foreign Language Film. Luciano Pavarotti was also honored.
Boschetto was the friendliest of the group (he cracked jokes and even imitated world soccer star Leo Messi with his “You look like a fool… go there!”and also recalled his time at the Sanremo Music Festival), but not the most thoughtful, as he prayed for those who are no longer with us, for peace, and reminded everyone that there are so many people who suffer, including those who experience war.
The members of Il Volo were very friendly and welcoming, and they also appreciated their fans, with whom they shared their good vibes, always expressing their gratitude for their support and for everything they were going through.
The show included a set dedicated to Latin music, such as “El Reloj” by Mexican Roberto Cantoral, made famous by greats such as Lucho Gatica, Armando Manzanero, and Luis Miguel, among many others, and “Historia de un amor,” another romantic classic composed by Panamanian Carlos Eleta Almarán.
The repertoire included Zucchero’s “Miserere,” Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way,” and “Hallelujah.” These were then joined by “La Donna e Mobile,” the tenor’s famous aria from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto,” and “Funiculíi Funiculá.” In just over two hours and accompanied by a solid orchestra, Il Volo closed the evening with a flourish with a performance of “O sole mio,” “Nessun Dorma,” and “Grande Amore,” eliciting a standing ovation from the audience, enthralled by their vocal virtuosity.
Il Volo bid farewell to Buenos Aires, where they announced their return in March 2026 with an unforgettable evening as part of their tour, which continues this Thursday in Chile and continues in Peru on the 18th, before returning to Europe, where they will perform in several cities.
And again, beautiful words published by the ENTRE NOTAS Y ACORDES agency which deals with music and was present at the concert.
“With their unmistakable blend of opera and pop, the Italian trio once again captivated their Buenos Aires audience with another unforgettable night at the Movistar Arena. Il Volo took the stage with that elegance that seems to defy time. Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca opened with powerful songs, a supportive orchestra, and an expectant audience, which transformed from a murmur to a choral explosion. There were moments of intimacy—when the Italian songs floated over dimly lit silhouettes—and others of grandiloquence, with crescendos that raised goosebumps even among those who had expected mere entertainment. In the end, it wasn’t just an ovation, it was a sonorous gratitude: a shared song, radiant faces, and the feeling that what unites them—that promise of vocal beauty—had been fulfilled once again. Il Volo didn’t just sing: they made art beat. “
And Movistar Arena Argentina posted this:
“@ilvolomusic gave us a magical night ✨
Three voices that thrilled every corner of the Arena 🥹🎤
Thank you for bringing your art to our home 🫶🏻 See you next year 😉”
These three photos of Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are truly beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A very warm and affectionate welcome and great success in Venezuela, but we’re off to Chile right away.
This is a funny video where Gianluca has to start singing Aranjuez and doesn’t have a microphone!! 🤣😂
This was the last concert.
A special thank you from Il Volo to all their fans for the warm affection they once again showed by filling the arenas.
Il Volo has published these words and these beautiful summary images of this Latam tour!!
“Thank you, Latin America. ❤️
Every city, every face, every hug. Emotions we will carry with us forever.
An unforgettable tour.
And this isn’t the end. See you in 2026 with more shows!”
While in Brazil, Piero Ignazio and Gianluca were interviewed by RADIO RITMO ROMANTICA, a radio station broadcasting in Peru.
It was a pleasant interview, and I hope you can turn on the subtitles (I had a hard time). If not, please let me know and I’ll publish the full translation in my next post.
And so this Latam tour has come to an end. They’ve been incredible days, filled with love and numerous sold-out shows, almost every one of them!!
The affection these three guys manage to inspire with their fans, but also with people meeting them for the first time, is incredible.
An artist can be great, but charisma isn’t for everyone, and our guys are very charismatic, friendly, sincere, and down-to-earth… UNIQUE!
At the beginning of the video, Ignazio sings a short, cheerful Brazilian song, then says:
IGNAZIO = Let’s be serious, please, I’m already married, I have a son, I’m a father. (applause)
GIANLUCA = For a month (he means Ignazio has been a father for a month) Well done, well done, Ignazio. Oh look, Ignazio (Gianluca reads a sign)
To Gabriele for your birthday!!
Ignazio’s birthday was October 4th, 31 years! (applause and the crowd begins to sing and applaud for a long time).
IGNAZIO = Thanks for the birthday wishes and then says it’s been 10 years since he spent a birthday at home. (the crowd expresses their disappointment, but Gianluca adds something)
GIANLUCA = But here in Brazil, you’re at home (applause)
IGNAZIO = I meant at my home! But for 10 years, my birthday has lasted two weeks, because everyone sings happy birthday to me for two weeks!!
Okay, but let’s introduce the next song: MISERERE
October 10 – 11 – 12, SAO PAULO
The concerts took place in Vibra (also known as Credicard Hall)
Incredible but true, with hearts full of happiness and gratitude, even all the dates in São Paulo are sold out!!
Our guys are here, they’re happy to be in San Paulo, they’re thankful and can’t wait to do the three concerts.
And they’ve already told us that on October 26th they’ll be in Italy, attending a new live event, a gathering of many people from the entertainment world, and Il Volo will also be there!!
Meanwhile, the Latam tour is going great, now I’m on my way to the next destination…Argentina, they’re coming!!!
GIANLUCA = We’re in Belo Horizonte, the first concert in Rio de Janeiro has just taken place.
IGNAZIO = Returning to Brazil means a lot to us, also because it’s one of the audiences that has always followed us from the very beginning. They’re one of the warmest audiences, always welcoming us with such affection.
PIERO = It’s a special relationship with Brazil, because they’ve given us support, affection, and love for so many years. We always love returning and hope to do many more concerts in the future.
Il Volo on its way to Belo Horizonte with Maestro Machado.
PIERO= We’re on our way to soundcheck. Today we’ll do our first soundcheck with our audience, with the fan club. We’ll see what this stage, the Belo Horizonte stage, will be like. We performed here two years ago; it’s one of my favorite cities in Brazil.
And for those who want it, there’s even the complete video of the FULL CONCERT!
Also in Curitiba, Il Volo made an announcement that made all the fans happy:
The guys announce that next year in March they will be in concert again in SAO PAULO Brazil, on 19-20-21.
Italian newspapers also enthusiastically reported the “bang-bang” start of the concerts in South America. Here is one of the articles I’m translating for you.
IL VOLO BRINGS ITALIAN BEL CANTO TO BRAZIL “HERE ONLY SUPPORT AND LOTS OF LOVE FOR YEARS”
Il Volo brought a slice of Italy to Latin America, selling out their debut in Rio de Janeiro, followed by a date in Belo Horizonte. The Brazilian concerts will continue this evening, October 7th, in Curitiba, and tomorrow, October 8th, in Porto Alegre.
“We’re in Belo Horizonte, after our first sold-out concert in Rio de Janeiro,” commented Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble. “Returning to Brazil means a lot to us, also because it’s one of the audiences that has always followed us since the beginning. They’re one of the warmest, always welcoming us with such affection. We have a special relationship with Brazil because they’ve given us support, affection, and love for so many years. We always love returning and hope to perform many more concerts in the future.”
After the American leg, starting November 2nd and lasting until the end of the year, Il Volo will be the protagonist of the Live in Concert tour, which will touch down in major European capitals, including Vienna, Berlin, Munich, Prague, Budapest, Paris, Madrid, and many others. The trio will return to Italy in December next year.
I’d say the start of the LATAM Tour 2025 has been truly remarkable, and everything will continue in the same vein.
It’s fantastic to see the affection and admiration our guys inspire everywhere.
Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca, full speed ahead!!
The organizers of MARENOSTRUM have published several short videos with these beautiful comments:
“Under the stars, music takes on another dimension. And with Il Volo it becomes something eternal.
The elegance of music in its purest form. Il Volo, live from Marenostrum Fuengirola, with an incredible repertoire in a night to be transported.
Fuengirola sounds different tonight. The starry sky, the illuminated castle… And three voices that are filling every corner with beauty.
Il Volo is not singing. It is touching the soul of everyone present.
The air is cut with emotion. No one bats an eyelid. No one wants it to end. Il Volo is making magic live.
The sound of thousands of hearts beating to the same rhythm. It’s Il Volo live. It’s time. It’s unique.
One night. Three voices. A thousand emotions. This is how Il Volo sounded on the Unicaja stage of Marenostrum Fuengirola.
A concert that touched the soul and left a mark in every corner of the castle.
Final concert and standing audience. Applause that never ends, emotion that doesn’t enter the chest. This was not a concert. It was a gift. THANK YOU ❤️”
Since the day after the concert is Piero’s birthday, people took the opportunity to wish him a happy birthday and give him lots of presents.🎉🎂🎊❤️ TANTI AUGURI PIERO!! 😍
How difficult it can be to present a song when so many people want to express their sincere affection.
I think Piero was touched by so much love.❤️😂
PIERO= The song we just sang and the next one we will sing were written by an Italian composer (a woman hands Piero a rose) …. “Hello, madam, thank you very much, thank you…..it’s Christmas today! (because a line of women has started to hand out flowers and gifts)….thank you madam”.
WOMAN= It’s your birthday!
PIERO= Ah, tomorrow is my birthday and so…. (applause)….that’s why all these gifts. (in the meantime Gianluca and Ignazio also help to get the gifts). Thank you, but you should know that tomorrow is my birthday but in a few days Ignazio will become a father (applause – Ignazio makes a sign to Piero as if to say that it is not in a few days), but yes, a few days, a month, two months, whatever… months are like days, there are a few left…… (Piero tries to resume the presentation of the song)… so we were saying that the next melody we will sing was written by a composer…. (Gianluca interrupts starting the Happy XMas song, laughter.)
What direction is this evening taking?
IGNAZIO= (In the meantime Ignazio also receives some gifts, a onesie for little Gabriele) This is for the gym (laughter).
PIERO= (still tries to resume the presentation of the song, but the gifts continue to arrive) Ok, the melody……thank you ma’am….
IGNAZIO= Surely there is a flower shop outside! Thank you. (laughter)
PIERO= (tries to resume the presentation) OK, the melody…this is the last time I repeat it (laughter), the melody that we sang and the next one was also written by the Italian composer Ennio Morricone (applause)…..thank you ma’am….Ennio Morricone. Ladies and gentlemen, the next song is called “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” (SE).
Il Volo also answered questions in an interview.
For those who want to see the whole concert, here is the video.
BG Sound, who organized the concert, wrote these words and published these beautiful photos.
“Emotion. Tears. Laughing out loud. Messages from the soul sent in 3 voices: Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca!
Il Volo made the Palace Hall ring on a summer evening. Il Volo got the audience on their feet, not just the encore. 2 hours of music that transcends time, and takes emotion to another level!
👏 We thank the audience in Bucharest for the sensational evening!”
I would say two more concerts that were successful.
I can say that the atmosphere in Bucharest was really strange, even our guys were very relaxed, almost like a performance among friends, maybe the very informal attitude of the people and I must also say the great heat, influenced a performance with a less perfect tone but very familiar.
But as always there is no time to rest, immediately back to Italy with a stop in Turin for an evening in the square, but we’ll talk about it in the next post!!
Daniela🤗
And finally, here is a prayer composed by our dear friend, Sheila Kilpatrick, for our beloved guys of IL VOLO and fans.
LORD,
In this world, there is a Masterpiece (Capolavoro) Among the waves (Tra le ondé).
Bless the trio of men who show Great Love (Grande Amore) to The World (Il Mondo).
They take Flight (Il Volo), and are so out of sight (Lontano dogli occhi) .
They are very close (Vicinissimo ) to you Again (Ancora).
We ask your love (Your Love) and Call Me Again Love (Chiamami Ancora Amore).
Shower all your blessings on their beloved, if not somewhat crazy fans!
HALLELUJAH
Sheila noted that “Hallelujah” is one of her many favorite songs and was written by a fellow Canadian, Leonard Cohen.
