A MAGICAL NIGHT OF IL VOLO IN BUENOS AIRES

The Italians paid tribute and called for peace during a show on their Latin American tour, which will now take them to Chile and Peru.
A magical evening was enjoyed by the Italian trio Il Volo, whose Tuesday evening recital at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires celebrated its members’ nearly 17-year career with jokes, tributes, and a call to action for peace.
As part of their “Live in Concert” world tour, which also includes stops in Chile and Peru, after their stop in Brazil, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble delighted Argentine audiences with their unmistakable musical style, blending operatic technique with the freshness of contemporary pop in a varied and trilingual repertoire (Italian, Spanish, and English).
“Good evening, it’s a great pleasure to be here in Argentina; we’re finally here.
“We want to thank you because this year we’re celebrating almost 17 years together, and this can only be done thanks to your love and support,” Piero said in his first conversation with the packed audience, after opening the show with “Il Gladiatore,” “Grande Amore,” and “Opera.”
“You’ve seen us grow. The first time we sang here in Buenos Aires was in 2012, at the Lawn Tennis Club, then at the Gran Rex and Luna Park, and now it’s a joy to fill an arena with all of you after so many years of career,” added Gianluca.
“Your measurements are the same as always,” joked Ignazio, as if to show off his few centimeters larger than his teammates.
“It’s a pleasure to return to Buenos Aires. Our goal is to bring our Italian culture,” he emphasized.
After performing the famous “Granada,” Il Volo launched into another hit, “Who Wants to Life Forever,” a cover of the British band Queen included on the soundtrack to the film “Highlander.”
A series of solos followed, with Boschetto performing “Memory,” a song the trio performed in 2012 with Barbra Streisand, before giving way to Ginoble for “The Music of the Night” and Piero for “E Lucevan Le Stelle.”
The evening featured tributes to greats such as Ennio Morricone, who performed “The Ecstasy of Gold,” composed for the film “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” and the classic “Novo Cinema Paradiso,” featured in the repertoire of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Oscar-winning film for Best Foreign Language Film. Luciano Pavarotti was also honored.
Boschetto was the friendliest of the group (he cracked jokes and even imitated world soccer star Leo Messi with his “You look like a fool… go there!” and also recalled his time at the Sanremo Music Festival), but not the most thoughtful, as he prayed for those who are no longer with us, for peace, and reminded everyone that there are so many people who suffer, including those who experience war.
The members of Il Volo were very friendly and welcoming, and they also appreciated their fans, with whom they shared their good vibes, always expressing their gratitude for their support and for everything they were going through.
The show included a set dedicated to Latin music, such as “El Reloj” by Mexican Roberto Cantoral, made famous by greats such as Lucho Gatica, Armando Manzanero, and Luis Miguel, among many others, and “Historia de un amor,” another romantic classic composed by Panamanian Carlos Eleta Almarán.
The repertoire included Zucchero’s “Miserere,” Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way,” and “Hallelujah.” These were then joined by “La Donna e Mobile,” the tenor’s famous aria from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto,” and “Funiculíi Funiculá.” In just over two hours and accompanied by a solid orchestra, Il Volo closed the evening with a flourish with a performance of “O sole mio,” “Nessun Dorma,” and “Grande Amore,” eliciting a standing ovation from the audience, enthralled by their vocal virtuosity.
Il Volo bid farewell to Buenos Aires, where they announced their return in March 2026 with an unforgettable evening as part of their tour, which continues this Thursday in Chile and continues in Peru on the 18th, before returning to Europe, where they will perform in several cities.
And again, beautiful words published by the ENTRE NOTAS Y ACORDES agency which deals with music and was present at the concert.
“With their unmistakable blend of opera and pop, the Italian trio once again captivated their Buenos Aires audience with another unforgettable night at the Movistar Arena. Il Volo took the stage with that elegance that seems to defy time. Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca opened with powerful songs, a supportive orchestra, and an expectant audience, which transformed from a murmur to a choral explosion. There were moments of intimacy—when the Italian songs floated over dimly lit silhouettes—and others of grandiloquence, with crescendos that raised goosebumps even among those who had expected mere entertainment. In the end, it wasn’t just an ovation, it was a sonorous gratitude: a shared song, radiant faces, and the feeling that what unites them—that promise of vocal beauty—had been fulfilled once again. Il Volo didn’t just sing: they made art beat. “
And Movistar Arena Argentina posted this:
“@ilvolomusic gave us a magical night
Three voices that thrilled every corner of the Arena
🥹 🎤
Thank you for bringing your art to our home
🫶🏻 See you next year 😉”
These three photos of Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are truly beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is a funny video where Gianluca has to start singing Aranjuez and doesn’t have a microphone!! 🤣😂

This was the last concert.
A special thank you from Il Volo to all their fans for the warm affection they once again showed by filling the arenas.
Il Volo has published these words and these beautiful summary images of this Latam tour!!
“Thank you, Latin America. ❤️
Every city, every face, every hug. Emotions we will carry with us forever.
An unforgettable tour.
And this isn’t the end. See you in 2026 with more shows!”
While in Brazil, Piero Ignazio and Gianluca were interviewed by RADIO RITMO ROMANTICA, a radio station broadcasting in Peru.
It was a pleasant interview, and I hope you can turn on the subtitles (I had a hard time). If not, please let me know and I’ll publish the full translation in my next post.

And so this Latam tour has come to an end. They’ve been incredible days, filled with love and numerous sold-out shows, almost every one of them!!
The affection these three guys manage to inspire with their fans, but also with people meeting them for the first time, is incredible.
An artist can be great, but charisma isn’t for everyone, and our guys are very charismatic, friendly, sincere, and down-to-earth… UNIQUE!
See you soon: Daniel🤗

IL VOLO AT TELETÓN IN CHILE by Daniela

The concert in Madrid, closing the European+Dubai tour, took place only three days ago and Il Volo immediately flew to Chile, where there was a previously confirmed commitment.
Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca are in Chile for Teletón, a television event on 8 and 9 November which will close the institution’s solidarity campaign which aims to raise funds to continue, even for a year, the rehabilitation of the over 32 thousand children, children and young people served in 14 institutes in the country.
They will be part of the Teletón 2024 artists who will be present at the closing show in Quinta Vergara.
So not even a moment’s rest for our beloved boys who will also have to quickly return to Italy because another important commitment awaits them.
Two whole days of Teletón Chile television marathon and at the end the great live event with numerous singers in Viña del Mar and Il Volo had the honor of opening this final event.
They performed NESSUN DORMA and IL MONDO accompanied by a beautiful orchestra.

CHILEVISION published:

Immediately after the songs, Il Volo received a special Teletón heart award from a child and his family, Teletón ambassadors.
It was a very nice and sweet moment. 🥰
MAN= Sensational Chile, what a show! Loud applause for Il Volo!!
PIERO= Good evening everyone, thank you, thank you all!
WOMAN= What a great way to start the celebration of Chile and the celebration of solidarity and now we enter this stage with the family of the Teletón ambassador, with Cris and we are with Camilla, her mother and Mia who has a very important mission, to deliver a recognition (in the meantime Il Volo has reached them)
MAN= Before saying something to the ambassador family, I want a giant round of applause for these three incredible lyrical pop artists who have been together on stage for 15 years: Il Volo, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, loud applause for this exciting moment tonight here at Quinta de Vergara in Teletón.
PIERO= Grazie!
GIANLUCA= For us it is an honor to stay here in Teletón, an honor to actually meet you (the family) and thank you for this lovely welcome, we will come to Chile, we can’t wait to sing for all of you.
PIERO= We will come to Chile, to the Movistar Arena in Santiago. Singing today for such an important event for us, I believe that these are the events that create a better world, this is what we always tell everyone, in truth.
IGNAZIO= In fact, big things are not important, small things united become big over time and staying united is the best thing.
WOMAN= Thanks for coming……we also have an award but first Cris wants to say something.
CRIS= (the child greets everyone and makes a long and direct speech, too bad I can’t understand).
WOMAN= A round of appaluse please!
MAN= Mia, Cris’ sister (much shyer than her brother) delivers Teletón’s heart to Il Volo. (a very sweet moment of kisses follows)
PIERO= Thanks everyone! Thank you! Thank you!
GIANLUCA (to Cris), next time let’s sing together!
(a series of kisses follows between the presenter and Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca.)
MAN= Let’s queue….
WOMAN= With this beautiful show, and with this joy that our country needs so much, we begin this last part of the event.
This video was posted by Teletón with these beautiful words:
❤️ TELETON 2024 What a level! The Italian group Il Volo performed at the closing of the solidarity crusade, where they amazed the entire audience with their musical talent. Have you seen them? Scroll to see the moment again!”

The newspaper 24HORAS posted the entire video of the beginning of the event and wrote these words:

“Teletón 2024:
The sublime presentation of Il Volo at Quinta Vergara.
The Italian operatic pop trio, Il Volo, was responsible for the show’s overture on the Viñamarino stage; There they received applause from the audience, but they were also praised on social media.”
Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio were also the subjects of a short interview backstage, here they are. (turn on subtitles)
And this event in Chile has already been archived with great success, Il Volo stood out for its skill and friendliness, as you have read they were also highly appreciated on social media.
Well guys, full speed ahead……or rather backwards, because you have to return to Italy immediately…..see you soon:

This time I want to share with you these beautiful black and white photos taken during rehearsals.

And so the last date of the tour in SPAIN has arrived and exactly:

6 November MADRID

The concert was at the WIZINK CENTER.
My Spanish friend Carmen, who met Il Volo during Eurovision 2015, had never seen their live concert and this time in Madrid, she finally got to see and hear them.
Needless to say, she was enthusiastic and we will soon read her review here.
It was a very heartfelt tour finale, Piero Ignazio and Gianluca sang several Spanish songs and added songs until they sang 30 in total and they always spoke in Spanish with their audience.

This video was published by Sony Classical Spain with these words:
“Il Volo great evening in Madrid which concludes its European tour.”

SOMOS NOVIOS

This is the only solo sung by Ignazio in Madrid. Before starting, Ignazio made a beautiful dedication to his wife and all the lovers. (I translate spannometrically)
IGNAZIO= What a romantic this teacher is.
Well, I want to tell you a story and I hope to be as brief as possible.
In my life I have always wanted the value of family, the value of love, not only with respect to my life but also thinking about who the love of my life could be, and I always thought I couldn’t have it because they were just words. Last year life surprised me, it gave me the moment in which I met the person who is now my wife (applause). I’ll just tell you one thing, I had reached a point that I was tired and rightly so when I have to understand or explain that I understand what love is, when they ask me “Why do you love her?” I can’t give explanations because I talk about the best things in the world and this is the truth of love, when you don’t explain why you love someone so. So I dedicate the next song to all the people who are in love or who are falling in love and to all of you.

IL MONDO (in Spanish)

AMOR VIDA DE MI VIDA

HALLELUIAH

Piero begins the presentation of the song by dedicating it to all the people of Valencia who are suffering from the flood.
The result is a very long round of applause from the people who appreciate and share their thoughts for the many victims of Valencia and for all the people who are suffering. 😥🙏
The beautiful and moving words of Il Volo for the people of Valencia were also taken up by the Spanish news.
WOMAN= The world of music is close to the tragedy of Valencia. The Italian group Il Volo who sang in Madrid dedicated the concert to the victims of Valencia and were very moved by what had happened.
IGNAZIO= When these tragedies happen, they don’t just affect the country where it happens, but they affect the whole world.
MAN= They dedicated the concert to the victims of the flood, the Italian group Il Volo.
PIERO= Tonight we dedicate the concert to all the people who are suffering from what is happening in Valencia and we hope that with our music we can provide a moment of comfort.
I found this beautiful photo of Gianluca accompanied by these beautiful and appropriate words that I propose to you:
“Interpreting the great songs of the past is like knocking on the door of the soul of the person who created those words, trying to understand the silences, the unspoken emotions, the silent desires.
It’s not just about singing a melody, but about immersing yourself completely in it, making it resonate in your being, like an actor who merges with his character. It is a heavy responsibility, because interpreting is much more than performing: it is giving new life to an art that does not belong to you, but which you choose to cherish for an instant, with the reverence of someone who knows they are passing through something eternal.”
Some photos of the concert.
I’m really super happy that the tour is over and was a great success every step of the way.
It was tiring but worth every single moment of joy, hard work, love from all the fans.
Do you think that between the Sofia and Madrid dates, since there were four days, the boys rested? In reality they made a trip to Milan where they recorded their presence in the episode of the Italian television show ZELIG which will be broadcast before the end of the month on Canale 5.
Short amateur video of ZELIG recording
However, with the concert on November 6th in Madrid the tour is over and so do you think that the boys are finally resting? Once again no!!
Today is November 8th and Il Volo is already in Chile where it will participate in the TELETHON charity event!
Gianluca’s photo
But then will they rest? Not yet! Why did a newspaper give this news:

At the G7 on Tourism in Florence there will also be a concert by “Il Volo”

CLICK HERE to view the REPUBBLICA article

The appointment with the meeting of ministers is from 13 to 15 November. The musical group will perform on the evening of the 14th at the gala dinner at Palazzo Gondi.
From 13 to 15 November Florence hosts the meeting of the G7 Tourism ministers, the first in history to be entirely dedicated to the sector. The meeting will be chaired by Minister Daniela Santanchè. The ministers and heads of delegation from Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and the European Union will meet at a discussion table on Tourism, to affirm the right political recognition for the sector, in consideration of its economic, social and cultural importance.
I really don’t have any more words, but so much admiration for Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio for all these numerous commitments.
You guys are formidable, but you too are not made of steel so take care of yourselves and…..full speed ahead!!
See you very soon: Daniela 🤗

Il Volo also conquers London: “This city was a challenge, we were welcomed with a full house”
The trio opened the tour from the English capital, featuring some evergreens by Queen and classics by Leonard Cohen, Simon & Garfunkel, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. A success
LONDON – A challenge won for Il Volo which opened its new European tour in the English capital and sold out. “We were very hesitant in starting from here – Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca told us a few hours before going on stage – due to the enormous cultural offer that the Capital puts on the table every day of the week and, more generally, because the England is a difficult market for any artist. We thought that perhaps it would have been better to include London a little later, doing other cities first, other concerts and arriving here better prepared, warmer. Instead, we chose to trust our promoter and, shortly after the announcement of the European tour, London was among the first stops to be sold out.”
The confirmation of how the trio was eagerly awaited at the Theater Royal Drury Lane, one of the oldest stages in the city dating back to 1812, came not only from the number of tickets sold, over two thousand, but from the queue of fans that had been created hours before the opening of the doors, with many Italians queuing, English people also arriving from the rest of the country, British people from Wales, Venezuelans, Brazilians and other nationalities, all belonging to those small and large foreign communities that feed the melting pot of the Capital, ready to support, applaud and enjoy Bel Canto for a night.
Il Volo is prepared for all this, thanks to its fifteen years of experience around the world; for this reason that every concert, including the one in London, tries to think of it in a unique way. Hence the choice to include in the setlist, for the performance at Royal Drury Lane, some of Queen’s evergreens which are always a pleasure to listen to immersed in English atmospheres: from the show must go on to Who wants to live forever, moving on to other musical classics timeless, like Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and, for the first time, The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel. All expertly mixed with songs by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley or soundtracks from musicals of the caliber of The Phantom of the Opera.
There is also ample space for their most successful songs, old and new such as Capolavoro, Ad Astra, Opera, to others taken from their album tribute to the maestro Ennio Morricone, up to the inevitable Grande Amore per la grande finale anticipated by classics of Italian popular culture , hummed by everyone, Italians and foreigners, complete with hands raised towards the sky.
Each piece was a river of applause, but the peak was recorded when their voice went high, very high, as with Piero Barone in the interpretation of Amor, vida de mi vida which, among the numerous performances, that of Plácido Domingo remains still the most memorable today. For Piero there was a standing ovation, as well as a heartfelt applause of appreciation from Sir Cliff Richard, present in the audience, one of the older generation English singers with over 21 million albums sold.
“Having a rather substantial career behind us, having duetted with many international stars and held concerts on all continents, we can truly draw from an almost infinite repertoire – they add – from classical to pop, to contemporary, to even more dated things, but without never distort our nature, which remains that of being ambassadors of Bel canto in the world. That’s how people got to know us and that’s what they expect from us when they come to our concerts. However, this does not mean repeating ourselves constantly even in the years to come, but rather proposing songs that we like to sing first of all, that we have made our own and that with them we have reached a level of confidence such as to be able to insert them into lineup, with the certainty that they can also be appreciated by our fans. This is how we think about tours, including the new European one which starts today from London.”
A performance, this one in the English capital, which represented a unicum in Il Volo’s career. It is the third time they have performed in London (the first at the Palladium in 2016 and then at the Royal Albert Hall in 2017), but the first post-Brexit, post-Covid, to pave the way for an international tour, and also because Ignazio Boschetto went up for the first time on stage wearing the ring on his finger, fresh from his marriage to Michelle Bertolini and also fresh from his round figure, 30 years celebrated a few days earlier, on October 4th. “We also wanted to dedicate this special evening to Barbara (Vitali, historic collaborator of the trio who passed away at the age of 54 in July due to a car accident, ed.) because she has been with us since the beginning of our career. She was our second mother and for her, London was a special place…”.
Leaving the London drizzle behind, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca flew to Bratislava for the second stage of the European tour, which will be followed by Budapest, Prague, Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Frankfurt, Athens, Zurich, with a date in the Emirates in Dubai on October 25th to return to the Old Continent first in Lodz and then Lisbon, Paris, Sofia in view of the grand finale on November 6th in Madrid. The Italian tour in the sports halls will start in January with stops in Milan, Treviso, Florence, Bologna, Turin, Rome, Eboli, Bari, Messina.
“In the meantime, we also have to think about the next musical project. Because this is the real challenge that we have been pursuing for fifteen years. Put like this, it seems like a condemnation, but it isn’t at all, given that we are neither the first nor the only ones to live like this. It is the reality that unites all those who work in the artistic field. Except that for us it has been valid since we were little more than kids and, we hope, that it will be valid for a long time to come”, the three finally tell us, from the dressing rooms on the third floor of the Theater Royal Drury Lane, while the fans began to take their seats in the velvety seats red, including those who, without knowing it and pleasantly surprised once seated, purchased seats in the Royal Balcony, the one reserved for members of the royal family.

The words written by the hotel that hosted them in Bratislava were also very nice:
This week we had the honor of welcoming other exceptional guests to our hotel – the famous Il Volo trio! 🎶✨
Their talent and energy filled not only the winter stadium but also our entire facility, and we are so proud that they chose us. ❤️ Thank you for allowing us to be part of their journey and we wish them much success in their future performances!
Some news that you will have already read, but which I have not given here.
Il Volo will be in Chile in November (8 or 9) for the TELETHON charity broadcast.
Here’s how the news was broken:
“Finally – and from Europe – the Italian trio “Il Volo” will also arrive in our country. Ignazio Boschetto, Gianluca Ginoble and Piero Barone are the singers behind this successful operatic pop group. With almost 15 years of experience and millions of views, come to Chile for the third time to present their greatest hits and their popular covers of ballads in Spanish such as “Abrázame”, by Julio Iglesias, “La unconditional”, by Luis Miguel and “So in love”, by Ricardo Montaner.”
And we end with a bit of gossip, Claudia, Gianluca’s girlfriend, was also present at the London concert, here she is in the photo next to mother Eleonora.
Wow, it was a really exciting start to the tour, great turnout and love from the people who were really excited to listen to Il Volo!!
Of course, the voices of Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca are beautiful and their professionalism is a guarantee, their concerts do not disappoint.
But there are many dates and many concerts still to be done, the journey is long and will certainly be equally full of successes, we have no doubt!!
See you again soon, next stop Budapest!

LATAM TOUR 2023: EQUADOR – CHILE – ARGENTINA by Daniela

The tour continues unabated and we are now in Ecuador, again a wonderful welcome.

Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca only have one day off between one concert and another but during that day they have continuous interviews and the same questions are often repeated and therefore I will try to translate only if there are interesting and different things.
For example, this is a really nice video. During a stop, Gianluca tells this girl that in one day they will be in Argentina and asks her to say a local tongue twister. She says it and in the end Gianluca says, no, I can’t say it, it’s too difficult.
But then he tries and the result is good!!😁😁😁
In this interview in Los 40 Ecuador the boys are asked some questions.
QUESTION= The most sleepyhead.
GIANLUCA= Ignazio, he is a vampire.
Ignazio says he sleeps little at night, which is why he sleeps when he can.
QUESTION= Who is the one who eats the most.
GIANLUCA= Piero and Ignazio.
Then Gianluca also adds himself and in fact Ignazio says that yesterday he was eating a hamburger sandwich and a potato chip came out and immediately Gianluca was ready to take it.
QUESTION= The most punctual.
IGNAZIO= Piero.
But then Gianluca asks a woman from the production and she replies Gianluca much to Ignazio’s amazement  😁😁
At the end they explain their EP Tre Voci Un’alma.
Then Il Volo was a guest in a television program: GAMAVISION
In this  video Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca say it’s been a long time since they’ve been back to Ecuador and they talk about the concert saying they’ll try to have fun.
Then they are asked the question that is very dear to the Equatorian fans, that is if each of them has a girlfriend.
Piero replies that he is free, Ignazio too and Gianluca says that he is busy in Italy and they tell him to send her a greeting.
Eventually Ignazio invites everyone to the concert and Piero says it will be an Italian night, with three Italians singing Italian classics and there will be fun.
Some moments of the beautiful concert.

One day and then immediately off to CHILE.
Here they are upon arrival at the airport.

A moment of relaxation and an excellent lunch.
The show begins and the night becomes magical, who is good, who is ugly, and who is bad?? What an emotion!! ☺
