Marie recently sent me two video clips she thought we would all enjoy. She coined them “Il Volo fluff.” The first is a clip from an interview in Venezuela and as an added plus it has English subtitles!
Our guys can sing acappella any time, any where. They are just that good! Love seeing Piero spontaneously throw his head back, cracking up in laughter.
Enjoy this little tidbit of Il Volo just being their charming selves!
The second clip is from a television news show where Lou Maglio, who claims to be 100% Italian, gets the results of his DNA ancestry search. This is a very popular thing to do now. Many of you may have already done so. Who knows…maybe we ALL have a little or a lot of Italian lineage in us!!
In the newspaper of Bologna, IL RESTO DEL CARLINO, this article was published.
In the first picture you see our boys and Torpedine, together with another guy named Dave Monaco.
Dave Monaco will participate in the selections on December 15 to be admitted to Sanremo. These days in several posts the boys have supported Dave’s candidacy, asking everyone to give preference by voting for this guy.
I will translate the most important points for you.
The boys speak…
“It’s the big news of our professional life.
Together with our manager Michele Torpedine, we have created a record company, which will develop and give an opportunity to the future stars of the Italian song.
The authentic one, the one that looks at tradition, our roots, melody and beautiful singing, but covering it with a contemporary feeling, which allows us to reach such a vast audience.”
“………………we are particularly proud of having decreased the age of opera lovers, which in Italy had always been considered the patrimony of a very adult aged and elitist public, that habitually frequent the traditional theaters. We managed to achieve this by mixing theclassical repertoire with our songs, showing that the most beautiful romances are truly timeless and can excite, seduce and make people dream, like a pop song.”
“We are now engaged in the production of a very young tenor who will participate in the selection of” Sarà Sanremo,” with the song L’ETERNITA ‘ PER CHI SA VOLARE, on December 15th on RAI 1.”
To the question …. and your new record ?? The boys answer like this…
“We will publish it in 2018 and will amaze fans, we are convinced, because it will be very different from the previous ones”.
What do you say about all this? Beautiful gesture from the boys really!
Last curiosity, Dave Monaco was born in Brescia !!
The only new theme of the album Notte Magica – Tribute to the three tenors is Ave Maria, Mater Misericordiae, composed by Giorgio F. Pintus and Romano Musumarra. This song, although it was included in the album, was not interpreted by Il Volo in the concert held on July 1, 2016 in the Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, during which the NotteMagica album was recorded live, because it had to be performed during the World Youth Day, in front of Pope Francis.
Unfortunately, Il Volo could not keep up with the Krakow appointment due to technical problems, and the live performance of the song had to be postponed until March 2017. Il Volo sang live for the first time AveMaria Mater Misericordiae, on March 2, 2017 in Easton (USA), although its official presentation was at the concert of Radio City Music Hall, in New York, on March 4, 2017.
Since the first performance, the song has become a favorite of the Magic Night tour viewers. It is a small jewel, in the purest style of IlVolo, which perfectly adapts to the vocal characteristics of the group. The song, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, begins softly in a low tone with the voice of Gianluca Ginoble, followed by Ignazio Boschetto and increases in intensity in the refrain by Piero Barone. But the climax comes at the end of the song, when Ignazio Boschetto attacks the highest notes and the three voices finally come together in a great harmony. The text is a perfect combination of tradition and modernity and manages to be poetic without being antiquated.
Below is a video of the execution of the Ave Maria, Mater Misericordiae on the day of its presentation in New York on March 4, 2017.

Ignazio’s sister, Nina, has posted this delicious looking creation on her pizzeria social media! She says it was made “in honor of Ignazio.” I’m not sure exactly what is inside of it. Ricotta? Nutella? Pistachio? I am going to try and get her recipe for all of us IL VOLO…IGNAZIO fans here to make at home!
What could be “sweeter” than these photos?
Eating one of these Ignazio Tortello’s while looking at his photos??
Look for future post with the recipe included! Wish me luck!!

Come in and share the love of life, friends and Il Volo!
