And so, September 6th has arrived, the day of the Brescia concert, an event that is very special to me because it is taking place in my hometown.
I don’t live in Brescia itself, but in a town in the province just 20 km away.
The concert is being held in Piazza Loggia, a beautiful square that reflects Venetian stylistic influences. The stage will be set up right in front of the Palazzo Loggia, which houses Brescia’s city hall.
In this post, I want to share my experience and review with you. Please bear in mind that the videos and photos I took with my phone aren’t high-resolution; you can certainly find better ones online, but here I’ll be using only my own.
I also signed up for the soundcheck. I don’t always attend them, but since we’re right here in Brescia, I wanted to do it this time. Plus, I’m hoping to meet Judy, a friend of ours visiting from Australia who will be attending her very first Il Volo concert!
It’s already past noon on the day of the concert, and the fan club still hasn’t given us a start time for the soundcheck. Then, the message finally arrives: we need to meet at the gate at 6:45 PM.
At 6:30 PM, I’m at Piazza Loggia. It’s unclear where we’ll be entering, so we wait for instructions. In the meantime, I try to spot Judy; I don’t know her or what she looks like, so I keep an eye out for anyone speaking English.
The person in charge of the soundcheck gathers us together and scans our tickets; I spot a kind lady and approach her, saying: “Judy?” She immediately replies: “Daniela?” Yes, we found each other!
This is something I truly appreciate about Il Volo, this way of building bridges between people who are so far apart, yet united by their love for music and for Il Volo in particular.
Judy is a truly lovely lady, and very sharp, too! While we wait, she tells me she traveled from Australia with her daughter and granddaughter—three generations in all. They stopped in England, then Milan, and were at Lake Como just yesterday.

I didn’t expect much from the soundcheck; Ignazio didn’t show up, though Piero and Gianluca were there. Piero rehearsed parts of a few songs, while Gianluca just did a bit of “A Mano a Mano” and then the whole of “Mi sono innamorato di te.” We couldn’t take photos or get close to the stage, which was cordoned off anyway. It was also very hot, and the session lasted about 45 minutes.
I said goodbye to Judy and rushed home, then returned with my husband for the concert, which started at 9:00 PM.
At 8:45 AM, there was still a long line at the entrance, even though everyone already had their tickets. Once inside, the square was packed; we quickly took our seats. We weren’t sitting together, I was in the second row, while my husband was more toward the center in the second row, and Judi was further back, about halfway through the seating area.
In the crowd, I immediately noticed Michelle arriving with little Gabriele, who recently turned one. I snapped a photo. Michelle is truly beautiful (the photo doesn’t do her justice), and Gabriele is adorable.💙❤️
Finally, the orchestra walked out to applause; the afternoon heat had given way to milder, slightly breezy weather, thank goodness!
There they were at last: following the orchestral introduction, a piece from *Carmen*, Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca took the stage, and they began performing “Nelle Tue Mani” (from *Gladiator*).
I love this song and recorded a clip of it; you might notice a sort of mist in the videos from time to time, it was a cooling steam effect that would occasionally drift across the stage.
The songs pause for an orchestral interlude featuring *Cavalleria Rusticana*; this break also serves to mark the transition between the concert’s three segments, concluding the first, the more classical part.
The guys return, having changed their outfits; they take their seats and perform “My Way.”
Immediately following a beautiful introduction by Gianluca, in which he describes the power of music to evoke happy memories and remind us of loved ones who have passed away, he performs his solo: “Mi sono innamorato di te,” a stunning and intimate rendition delivered with a deep, rich voice.
Next up are the beautiful “Unchained Melody” and powerful Piero’s solo, “No puede ser.”
The guys joke around a lot with the audience, who are laughing and having a great time, such as when Piero starts speaking just as the bells of the Torre del Mangia in Brescia begin to chime, marking the hour of 10:00. 😂
The program continues with a duet by Ignazio and Piero performing the beautiful song by Albano: “È la mia vita.”
The guys look back on their appearances at the Sanremo Festival, noting that they’ve taken part three times: finishing first in 2015, third in 2019, and eighth in 2024 (with truly dismal voting results working against them). We all have a laugh as Ignazio jokes that things get worse every time, even acting a bit offended, while Piero reminds him that you can’t always win, but you still have to compete.
They then begin singing “CAPOLAVORO,” immediately followed by “GRANDE AMORE.” The entire audience sings along with them!
We are nearing the end of the concert, and it is time for the inevitable “Il Mondo”; the whole crowd is singing along with Il Volo, it is a real delight.
The guys wave goodbye and leave the stage, but only for a moment; the audience doesn’t even leave their seats, and the trio immediately returns to sing “Nessun Dorma.”
Now it is truly over; the audience is on its feet, offering thunderous applause.
Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca introduce the Franciacorta Orchestra (from Brescia, they accompanied Il Volo throughout the tour), Maestro Savio (from Brescia), and Maestro Grani; then, they warmly bid farewell and thank the audience, who keep right on applauding!
I caught up with Judy, who was waiting for the Meet & Greet (I’m not attending); she told me she really enjoyed the concert, we’ll read her impressions later. I said goodbye to her, it was a real pleasure meeting her, however briefly, as she is heading back to Milan right after the Meet & Greet and has a flight to Australia tomorrow morning.
The concert is over, and my long-awaited day in Brescia has come to an end; I’m heading home with my ears and eyes filled with harmonies and beautiful moments. I’ll probably struggle to fall asleep, but perhaps I’ll relive the concert in my dreams.
In just a few days, Mantua awaits!

Piazza Loggia was packed for the Brescia stop of the 2026-2027 World Tour: the trio brought the Brescia Summer Music festival to a close before a multi-generational audience.
Piazza Loggia was packed and long lines formed in Brescia’s city center for Il Volo’s performance on Sunday, September 6. Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble wrapped up the Brescia Summer Music festival with a sold-out show featuring a mix of opera, Italian tradition, and pop songs.
The concert, which began at 9:00 PM, marked the Brescia stop of the group’s 2026–2027 World Tour. The date also appears on the trio’s official schedule and concluded the series of September concerts held in Piazza Loggia.
The audience began filling the city center well before the show started. The line stretched along Via Dieci Giornate, extending as far as Corso Zanardelli.
The crowd in the square included people of all ages—from couples to families—alongside fans who follow the trio across their Italian and international tour dates.
Il Volo in Brescia: from opera to their best-known hits.
On stage, Il Volo showcased the various facets of their repertoire. Alongside operatic traditions, the setlist featured Italian song classics, international covers, and hits from the trio’s own career.
Songs included in the World Tour lineup range from “Grande amore” and “Capolavoro” to selections from their operatic and pop repertoires. This reflects the musical structure specified by the Municipality of Brescia for the September 6th concert.
The formula remains the same one that has defined the journey of Barone, Boschetto, and Ginoble: three voices with distinct vocal ranges and a repertoire that spans generations.
The result in Brescia was a concert that drew an audience extending well beyond the traditional fan base of opera music.
The closing of Brescia Summer Music in Piazza Loggia
Il Volo’s performance in Brescia marked the conclusion of the September leg of the Brescia Summer Music festival. In the days leading up to this, Piazza Loggia had hosted Fiorella Mannoia, Claudio Baglioni, Luca Carboni, and Pooh.
As for Il Volo, their schedule continues as early as Tuesday, September 8, at the Royal Palace of Caserta. Subsequently, the trio will return to Lombardy for the “Tutti per Uno” shows at Palazzo Te in Mantua.
The Brescia stop leaves behind, above all, the image of a sold-out Piazza Loggia, with the audience gathered in front of the stage until the very end of the show.

Il Volo’s vocal power captivates Brescia.
Their 2026/2027 world tour stopped at Piazza della Loggia, marking yet another sell-out.
In addition to a packed seated area and numerous standing-room tickets sold, crowds gathered outside the square to see the three artists—tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto and baritone Gianluca Ginoble—who delivered an unforgettable performance.
It was not just about beautiful music but also great fun; the trio’s charming personalities shone through as they interacted with fans between songs, turning the concert into an evening among friends filled with camaraderie and harmony.
The world tour continues with around thirty dates across Europe and the USA, seeing them serve as musical ambassadors for Italy as they perform traditional classics alongside a host of pop songs.

It was fantastic, the magic started 7 years ago for me, my first Il Volo concert was in 2015 in Brescia, in Piazza Loggia and yesterday 2 September 2022, after 7 years, the magic was repeated.
There are no words to describe the emotions.
But let’s start from the beginning. Piazza Loggia was bright, ready for the concert.
In the afternoon I attended the sound check, we members of the fan club were able to enter and sit in the first row. Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca arrived but did a very short sound check, but then they got off the stage and greeted all of us from the fan club one by one, exchanging a few words with each one. They were very kind and apologized for the shortness of the sound check due to the fact that being an open square, many people were behind the barriers and could watch and listen. The thing I did not like was that we at the fan club were absolutely forbidden to take pictures or videos, so there is nothing that testifies that we were in contact with the boys, and the people outside the barriers, on the other hand, could do all of them, the photos they wanted ….. what nonsense!
In the afternoon I also met Judith, from Canada, she reads to us on Flight Crew and told me that she has been following Il Volo for 10 years, since she casually saw them on the PBS television station, and she heard ITALIA, immediately she searched on the map where it was that nation of which he did not even know the name and since then, thanks to Il Volo, she returns to Italy every year. Now she loves Italy very much, but we know very well that Il Volo is the best ambassador of Italy !! ❤
And then it was a surprise in the evening, to discover that Judith and I at the concert had seats next to each other in the front row !! Perfect 🤗
My country is not far from Brescia, about 15 minutes by car, so we left an hour before the concert, but once in the center of Brescia, the chaos, there was no parking and long queues of cars, so we parked a little distant and then almost running to arrive in time, long queue at the entrance to the square and then, time to sit down and the concert begins.
I was ready with my video camera. “Ecstasy of Gold” starts, the camera starts having a thousand problems, and then “memory full” appears, but it’s not possible !!!! So all evening I had to shoot with my cellphone, which is not of excellent quality, I had to keep the images close, otherwise it blurs, but I must say that I am quite satisfied with the result and I hope you are too.
The first song that opens the concert is “Ecstasy Of Gold”. I really like this song, here is a small piece.
I haven’t recorded all the songs, but there are several videos and the following is of the beautiful Your Love, which reminds all us, Ignazio’s sad moments.

Seven years ago I didn’t know what to expect, but I was thrilled by their concert, so much so that I decided to be their fan.
Today after 7 years, they have still been able to amaze me, their voices are always better and, even if I know every nuance by now, they always amaze me. Their concert is a joy for the ears and also for the eyes, we like what we hear and see, they are always elegant, great brothers in their manner, but always within the limits of elegance, very sweet with children and the elderly, representatives of an elegance that becomes increasingly rare in young artists. On March 19, at the Pirandello Theater in Agrigento, an event in favor of peace in Ukraine was held. It was called, SICILY FOR PEACE.
Piero Barone took part in this event.
The event was organized by Silvio Schembri, (journalist) and Lello Analfino (singer and producer), both friends of Piero.
When Piero was proposed to participate, he wasn’t sure if he would be in Sicily on those days, but then when he was sure he could be there, he surprised everyone by attending the event.
The video begins with Silvio Schembri coming down from the stage and arriving where Piero Barone is seated.
Silvio makes Piero get up and the people, recognizing him, applaud, then Silvio, imitating the voice of a woman who says:
“Did you see, I told you it was him,”😁😁
and then presents: “PIERO BARONE, there is no need for an introduction.”(applause)
Come with me. (Piero takes off his jacket) Make yourself comfortable.
PIERO: Tonight, I am really happy, honored, to be attending this event. I was fascinated by the Pirandello Theater, because I had never been inside the Pirandello Theater.
SILVIO: This is news that I discovered today, Piero Barone who sang on the most important stages in the world ……
MAN: You went directly to the Ariston (Sanremo stage) without going through the Pirandello Theater, we can say.
PIERO: I realized that it is something that I should have done for some time, because today I arrived 100 meters from the theater and I asked a woman for information:

MAN: The truth is that you like Agrigento so much, when you can live it, we have seen you around, on the seafront, at the tennis club, in short, when you want, Agrigento is your life.
PIERO: Agrigento makes you feel protected, it is a fantastic city. I was born in this magnificent province, I was born in Naro, but I often frequent Agrigento in the summer, I bring all my friends and collaborators to Sicily, I make them all arrive.

In the city of Agrigento, I don’t know many people, because I frequented it (Agrigento) for the choir of S. Cecilia (as a child, before participating in Ti Lascio una Canzone), when I was a beginner, with Professor Bonfiglio, I spent my childhood there.
SILVIO: Then at 14 you decided to become famous … right? (laughter)😁
PIERO: But I spend my holidays in San Leone (a seaside resort near Agrigento), it’s great, I take all my friends, my colleagues, I don’t go anywhere, they arrive here in Sicily …

PIERO: Two weeks ago, Lello (organizer of the event) sent me a message, and I was far away (he was in the US), and I didn’t know what to answer, I would have said yes right away, but I don’t want to give a word, and then invent an excuse if I have a sudden commitment, because unfortunately I am here physically almost never, and now I am overjoyed to give my contribution. I don’t sing, without my colleagues (Gian and Ignazio), for various reasons, so today I called Ignazio and Gianluca and I told them:
“Any video you will see from tomorrow on the internet, don’t worry, I’ll sing in a theater, don’t worry”, and I’ll sing, we call it a song…. I want to sing a prayer, because everyone can come here and sing any song, but for an evening like this, I want to sing something special, an Ave Maria (Hail Mary) and it’s the only one way, for my part, to express my closeness, in such a complex and particular moment. SILVIO: With the help of many people who are also here, like Lello Analfino and Piero, in the midst of the pandemic, in the first wave, we immediately activated, with many other friends, to find funds.
PIERO: The idea was born during our phone calls: “Oh Silvio, what do we do?”
SILVIO: At the beginning of the pandemic our talks were about how to cook bread and pizzas, then we said: “But what can we do? Are we doing something concrete?”

We were in this disco, after the Il Volo concert, and all the girls were saying: “a photo”, Piero lifts his shirt and shows his abs and I thought, I can do this too …. and then I said: “Come here a second and I too will take off my shirt and take the picture, and the (the girls) came”😁
But one of the most beautiful things in Taormina, we tell this and then we let you go, it is a fixed stop, when I can, I always go there, and one of the fixed stops when Il Volo sings in Taormina, is Saretto al Bambar where we eat granite there in Taormina.
And when Il Volo arrives in Taormina, you can’t imagine what’s there, it’s all full, with their fans who come from all over the world, you hear them speak in all languages, and go inside the Bambar to get the slushes, with all these people, it’s packed, and so I pull away for a moment and put myself behind to let the fans get closer.
I put myself in a trajectory between Il Volo and two elderly people who were there eating the granita…. (while he talks he sees a woman in the audience laughing) “You already know this story madam? Already laughing?”😁
At one point the man stops eating and calls the waiter and asks: “Excuse me, this whole brothel (crowd of people)”
“You know, there are those from Il Volo.”
This man turns around and the first person he sees is me, he turns around and says to his wife: “How much has this become of Il Volo?”(he means: how much fat has this of Il Volo become)😁
I swear to you! 😁😁😁 It’s a true story !!
LELLO: And don’t you know that since Silvio goes to Bambar, they have made seafood granita😁
SILVIO: Piero, I don’t know what to say, thank you, thank you in my name and in everyone’s name.

It was a really good event and for a good cause.
In these days, Il Volo was live on a pop program of a Korean radio show. I saw them live and it was very strange, because that radio transmits very different music from the one Il Volo sings, but it was beautiful and also appreciated by the young presenter.

Concert dates continue to be added here in Europe and also in Italy and it is with great joy that the date of BRESCIA has also been added. I couldn’t believe it, and the news came from OHIO (thanks Rose Marie). The concert will take place on September 2nd outdoors in the beautiful Piazza Loggia, the place where in 2015 I saw my first Il Volo concert.
I struggled a lot to get the tickets, something didn’t work in the presale, but in the end I made it, third row. I hope I can make some great videos for you, ideally I will take all of you with me!! It will be a great night.❤
