“Il Volo will be performing in the Cavea which is a fourth concert hall of Auditorium Parco Della Musica. It is an open air theatre recalling the days of Greek and Roman theaters. I saw a photo of it but was not able to do a copy paste. I found it on the Auditorium Parco Della Musica website. It is a beautiful and stunning outdoor theatre. I have not yet discovered the seating capacity but looks fairly significant. This has to be a great concert gig for them, since they have three consecutive performance dates there.” ~~ e-mail from Mary S.

Well, the time has come. The time that our guys have worked for, dreamed of and –most importantly–deserve. Even if it is something of a bittersweet time for us. 😉
Italy has finally learned what we already knew and has embraced their countrymen with wide open arms after resoundingly ignoring the critics in San Remo.
Now don’t misunderstand me. Nothing warms my heart more than to see The Guys happy and to know that they have that little hole in the heart of their success filled. Everyone wants to and should be loved and respected–especially at home, and I always smile simply because they do. But there is a little piece of me that will miss feeling that they “belong” only to me. But only a little piece.
They are too happy for me to be any less. 🙂
They are three days into a CD signing tour and already about a million steps ahead of me. Enjoy their stops in Milan and Rome while I try to catch up in Pescara. 😀
Hope you’re having a great weekend! Not a lot going on in Il Volo’s world right now, but they have received more recognition for their collaboration with Fondazione Telethon…
Gala Dinner of Fondazione Telethon in Rome, October 23, 2014
Per a post from Athina Angelopoulos Facebook:
We know that tonight #IlVolo appears at the Gala Dinner of the Telethon in Rome and the boys will receive the award ”Cuore Telethon 2014”. The Telethon along with several charity events and activities is organized in order to raise funds for scientific research on rare genetic diseases. But this is not the first time that Il Volo collaborates with this cause and Fondazione Telethon. On Dec 17, 2010 IL VOLO appeared for the first time as guests on Telethon events organized by FONDAZIONE TELETHON broadcast by RAI.
Aside from their musical talents and wonderful personalities, their dedication and attention to causes that allow them to support others is one of the things I love most about Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca. Great job, guys!
@gianginoble11: “Remembering Moscow”
The Guys’ trip to Moscow wasn’t too long ago, but since Gianluca was remembering it–and a few very nice pictures of them have surfaced from their time there–I thought maybe we should too. Oh, who am I kidding? Do we need a reason to look at new pictures? Enjoy! 😉

Before coming to the US, The Guys were in Rome taping an appearance on Porta a Porta with Bruno Vespa. Frankly, I think everything came up so quickly, that there isn’t a lot written about this appearance, but we do have videos and pictures available for viewing.
ilvolomusic: Going to #Verona. Traveling is our hobby!
Uh…no kidding! The Guys were very busy world travelers last week and have been keeping me on my toes trying to keep up. It would be so much easier if I were traveling with them instead of catching up on my Twitter feed during breaks and after work…just saying…. 😉 But since that’s not going to happen, I do my best with what I have and will be on the run to their concert tonight as fast as social media will allow me.
They started in Milan in the beginning of the week for a show on RTL 102.5 radio. I’m not going to waste any time commenting when you can watch for yourself.
Next, they jetted to Verona rehearsals for the Fetival Lirico. They will be singing with the American singer simply known as, Anastacia, and they all seemed to get a kick out of her and are looking forward to the performance. They also met up with Antonella, who will be hosting.
Rough Google Translation: “For me, the television season ends at the Arena di Verona, which is always a thrill to present this event.” He said Antonella Clerici on the evening of Sunday, June 1 will return to conduct at La Scala in the amphitheater “Arena di Verona in 2014 the show is about to begin,” which will be broadcast live on Rai Uno starting at 21:20.
The event was presented today IN town hall: Anastacia, Massimo Ranieri, The Voilo, Jesus Christ Superstar with the legendary Ted Neeley, Notre Dame de Paris by Richard Cocciante will be the ‘star’ of the evening with the orchestra, the choir and the Ballet of the Arena.
“It ‘a great event broadcasting – said the mayor Flavio Tosi – who returns for the fifth year in a row and is an important showcase for opera in general, as well as the Arena for the festival, because the opera in Verona is a UNESCO World Heritage “.
The artistic director Gianmarco Mazzi said that “the performance of Anastacia will be a cabinet button with Il Volo in a tribute to Elvis Presley with ‘O sole mio and’ I can not live without you. ‘(It’s Now or Never) Then she will sing” Stupid little things “from his latest album ‘Resurrection’, accompanied by the orchestra of the Arena. “ Recalling that in 2013 the show was watched by 5 million viewers in Italy and has already been requested again this year by many countries, the superintendent by the Fondazione Arena, Francesco Girondins, he added that “in this issue back to the formula pop- opera, with an international cast that we hope will confirm the success of the opera festival, which is 101 years old, as was the case last year edition of the centenary. “
“I think the public will be affected – said Riccardo Cocciante – offering songs of ‘Notre Dame de Paris’ in English, French, Russian and Korean, to give a global dimension in that path started 15 years ago. I never wanted to establish a musical, but rather a popular work: it is an attempt to communicate with a young audience with a century that has changed the way we make music and to hear, looking for a bridge, a link between a glorious past com ‘ is the opera music and a bellisismo present. “
From Verona, they flew to London for a recording session at Abbey Road Studios — something they seemed quite excited about…
I know I will be very excited to hear what amazing work went on there — hopefully soon!
Just for Fun
Another interview from The Guys’ time in Miami has surfaced, and it has brought a bit of buzz with it. I’ve seen several of you mention it here, and I definitely got a kick out of it when LiJoy pointed it out to me. For me, it highlighted that family isn’t all about biology; family is whomever you decide it is. And our guys are definitely brothers in all the most important senses of the word. Thanks to All About Il Volo for the translation. Enjoy!
