Hi Everyone,

The concert in Chile on the 29th was as fabulous as usual. The Guys seemed to have thrived on the adoration of their fans.

The concerts for the next three nights are in Buones Aires, Argentina at the Gran Rex. It’s unusual to have three back to back concerts at the same venue; there must have been a huge demand!!!

The Teatro Gran Rex is an Art Deco style theatre in Buenos Aires, Argentina which opened on July 8, 1937, as the largest cinema in South America.

Located near the centre of the city at 857 Corrientes Avenue, it was designed by the architect Alberto Prebisch, who was also in charge of the construction of the Obelisk, one of the main icons of the city.

The design of the interior was influenced by that of Radio City Music Hall in New York and construction of the theatre was completed in just seven months in association with the engineer Adolfo Moret. The opening caused a sensation and the Argentine intellectual Victoria Ocampo praised the theatre as an outstanding example of modern architecture from the pages of her influential literary journal, Sur.

Today, the theatre has 3,300 seats and, together with the Teatro Opera on the opposite side of the street, is one of the city’s most important venues for the staging of international shows.

Chiquititas was the highest-grossing event in the history of the theater. Based on the children-oriented soap of the same name and with the complete cast of the show, six seasons of live musicals were performed at the Gran Rex from 1996 to 2001 during the Winter Holidays. Over 1 million tickets were sold, with the 1998 season being the highest-selling season ever (and the highest attendance ever at the Gran Rex to this day): 240,000 tickets sold.

Twitters, Tweets and Keeks:

Gianluca tweeted yesterday, We had so much much(?) doing some interviews in Buenos Aires, They will be released soon” he later tweeted “Hungry” then ” I ate a lot tonite, too much Argentinian beef #sogood”

Piero tweeted, “I love this city #buenosAires Buonanotte #Argentina and #the world” He tweeted today “3 shows at #Gran Rex Theatre in 3 days, lets start tonight!”

Ignazio tweeted “Cristian Castro “Asi Era Ella” ( referring to the popular Mexican singers’ new song release)

Check out Team Il Volo for some new articles “Il Volo In Chile” and “Il Volo live in Chile” with a video. See also “Il Volo offers three shows in Argentina” Piero states in this article “We do not have a favorite city, but we surely will go live in Los Angeles” Please remember these articles are translated from Spanish!

See All things Il Volo for some great photos and videos.

Il Volo has 10 more concerts left, including tonight, in their South American Tour. There has been much speculation of where they are going and what they are doing at the end of the tour. Except for 11/29 at the Mall of America and 12/1 in Detroit there has been no announcement from managemnent of their plans. If all the speculation was true they would have to be in 10 places at once. Lets see what developes.

You still have the rest of the day today to vote on the “Peoples Choice Awards”

Love and Luck In Argentina Guys!!!

Linda

DID YOU EVER…..

8f7bb29ccf7411e2bcd822000aa80037_7DID YOU EVER……

1) … Glance at the “Takes Flight” CD cover and just smile at it?

2) … Say “Il Volo” and someone looks at you with a blank stare and you have the urge to poke them in the eye?

3) … forget to turn on THEIR CD before stepping into the shower and trudge naked back to the living room to do it?

4) …Go to the music section of your local discount store, find Il Volo CD’s behind Il Devo CD’s and move them all to the front?

5) … Want your own blog site so you could chat day or night about your favorite singing group?  (Oh wait, you’ve got that!)

6) …Sit in the car and wait for the song to end before you get out?  (Surely, we all do that!)

7) …Feel the need to throw something at an interviewer when they say “EL Volo”?

8) …Feel bad for the next song you love, when you hit “rewind” because you have to hear “Il Mondo”!  One more time!  Right now?

9) …Play Il Volo loud at the drive-thru knowing if the employees hear it, they too will be in love and you have done them a great favor?

10) …Forget your favorite CD in the car.  Go out in your robe to get it?  In the dark?  When it’s cold?

11) …Know that the person you’re talking to doesn’t want to hear about how much you love Piero, but you tell them anyway?

12) …Wish Marie would stop writing about Ignazio’s dimples?  (Not gonna happen!)

13) …Worry that someone will steal your car while your Il Volo Cd’s are inside?

14) …Wish Gianluca stayed at your house so often he had his own pillow?

15) And Kelly’s personal, “…Buy complete body care without even smelling it because it’s called ‘Beautiful Day'”.

16) This one is yours!  What’s your #16?   Did you ever….

Hi Everyone,

The concert Sunday at the Coliceo in San Juan was spectacular. Il Volo was at their best and the audience was on fire!

The concert tonight is in Santiago, Chile.

Santiago (Spanish pronunciation: [san̪ˈtja.ɣo]), also Santiago de Chile [san̪ˈtja.ɣo ðe ˈtʃi.le] ( listen), is the capital of Chile and the center of its largest conurbation. It is located in the country’s central valley, at an elevation of 520 m (1,706.04 ft) above mean sea level.

Founded in 1541, Santiago has been the capital city since colonial times. The city has a downtown core of 19th century neoclassical architecture and winding side-streets, dotted by art deco, neo-gothic, and other styles. Santiago’s cityscape is shaped by several stand-alone hills and the fast-flowing Mapocho River, lined by parks such as Parque Forestal. Mountains of the Andes chain can be seen from most points in the city. These mountains contribute to a considerable smog problem, particularly during winter. The city outskirts are surrounded by vineyards, and Santiago is within a few hours of both the mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Santiago’s steady economic growth over the past few decades has transformed it into a modern metropolis. The city is now home to growing theater and restaurant scenes, extensive suburban development, dozens of shopping centers, and a rising skyline, including the tallest building in Latin America, the Gran Torre Santiago. It includes several major universities, and has developed a modern transportation infrastructure, including a free flow toll-based, partly underground urban freeway system and the Metro de Santiago, South America’s most extensive subway system. Santiago is the cultural, political and financial center of Chile and is home to the regional headquarters of many multinational corporations. The Chilean executive and judicial powers are located in Santiago, but Congress meets in nearby Valparaíso.

Santiago is named after the biblical figure James, son of Zebedee (Sant Iago = Saint Iacob = Saint.

Twitters, Tweets and Keeks:

Gianluca tweeted: ” Greetings from Santiago, Chile.” He later tweeted “Another airplane, another sunny place. I’m lucky I know, but I wanna go home, I miss you know.” Home sickness! Who can blame him? This has been a long tour and they still have a ways to go!!

Piero tweeted: “Santiago de Chile :)” He tweeted later, #limousine #Hummer #redglasses #fun #tour #concert.”

Ignazio tweeted: Los Angeles excisten y dios me dio confirma hoy” Loosely translated ” Angels exist and God gave to me” Remember I said LOOSELY translated!!

Il Volovers Rock The Vote!

polls_vote_0701_185943_poll_xlarge A few election cycles ago, there was a push here in the US to encourage young  people to be engaged in the election process in this country.  We were encouraged to be informed on the issues and to get out there on election day and “Rock the Vote” because our voices really could make a difference.

Now, while I very much participate in our election process when it comes to government, I usually don’t pay as much attention when it comes to the entertainment industry and all  the different awards that are up for grabs out there while the voting is taking place.  And then I complain that I don’t particularly care for which acts were nominated, start listing off all the others I would’ve voted for if I had the chance and whine over the winners that actually end up taking home the awards.

I know.  It’s my own fault.  I wasn’t involved in the process.

It has come to our attention, thanks to Jennie (tjnewman), that the People’s Choice voting for 2014 has started.  She posted her comment on another post, but I’m bringing it here to make sure proper credit is given where due to all parties:

FYI guys, this was on Janis Rahner Blank’s Facebook page:

“The People’s Choice Awards 2014 has posted on their website voting for nominees for the award. In the music category, our boys are not listed, but there is a place to write in names. The categories they are 1. Favorite band-Il Volo, 2. Favorite song- We Are Love, 3. Favorite album- We Are Love, 4. Favorite music video- We Are Love, 5. Favorite Music Fan Following- Ilvolovers. So, go to the site and write in your votes for our boys. They could win!! You never know!! ”

And they are right.  If people have never heard of Il Volo, they will never hear them; and if they never hear them, they can’t fall in love with them.  And if they aren’t in love with them, the guys don’t win awards here in North America (and we know they said they’d love to win a Grammy someday).  The People’s Choice award isn’t a Grammy, but wouldn’t it be something if they could get on the ballot?  So, we are joining our voice with Janis and inviting all Ilvolovers to Rock the Vote on the People’s Choice Awards!

LiJoy found the link for us, so I’m bringing it here also:  http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/nominations/

Linda reminded us that we can vote more than once, and I can see that many of you have already started.  As I said, I’m a little slow getting this up; sorry. 🙁  But for everyone that hasn’t yet, won’t you join us?  Let’s get out there and Rock the Vote!  bigstockphoto_voting_1385285(1)
