In the newspaper of Bologna, IL RESTO DEL CARLINO, this article was published.
In the first picture you see our boys and Torpedine, together with another guy named Dave Monaco.
Dave Monaco will participate in the selections on December 15 to be admitted to Sanremo. These days in several posts the boys have supported Dave’s candidacy, asking everyone to give preference by voting for this guy.
Â
I will translate the most important points for you.
The boys speak…
“It’s the big news of our professional life.
Together with our manager Michele Torpedine, we have created a record company, which will develop and give an opportunity to the future stars of the Italian song.
The authentic one, the one that looks at tradition, our roots, melody and beautiful singing, but covering it with a contemporary feeling, which allows us to reach such a vast audience.”
“………………we are particularly proud of having decreased the age of opera lovers, which in Italy had always been considered the patrimony of a very adult aged and elitist public, that habitually frequent the traditional theaters. We managed to achieve this by mixing theclassical repertoire with our songs, showing that the most beautiful romances are truly timeless and can excite, seduce and make people dream, like a pop song.”
Â
“We are now engaged in the production of a very young tenor who will participate in the selection of” Sarà Sanremo,” with the song L’ETERNITA ‘ PER CHI SA VOLARE, on December 15th on RAI 1.”
To the question …. and your new record ??  The boys answer like this…
Â
“We will publish it in 2018 and will amaze fans, we are convinced, because it will be very different from the previous ones”.
Â
Â
What do you say about all this? Beautiful gesture from the boys really!
Last curiosity, Dave Monaco was born in Brescia !!
Once upon a time there were three children. One was called Gianluca, another Ignazio, the third Piero. They had come as a gift to three provincial families of our beautiful Italy, who lived several kilometers away from each other. What had been the amazement of mothers in finding that, in the closed fist with which they had presented themselves to life, each of the children hid a briefcase with a flying wing on it and a musical note!
Those suitcases were entrusted to them, at the time of departure for the Earth, by the Archangel Michael, from Bologna, who had personally chosen also the families to send them, of which he had certainly not taken into account the wealth and social position, but only honesty, rectitude and fullness of the love that inspired them. The three mothers, in their typically maternal foresight, did not throw away those suitcases because, they thought, they could serve in the future. And it did not take many years for those same suitcases, duly dusted and polished, to serve the three little ones for a trip to Rome, where the blonde fairy, Antonella, was waiting for them, who immediately loved them and understood that those guys had a lot togive to the whole world.
Â
In Rome, the three boys saw each other for the first time. They recognized themselves at the start from the sky. They had not just been given the suitcase, but everything necessary to put in it to bring to the world the amazement of threecelestial voices. Voices different from each other, but which together, as if by magic, became a force of nature, an angelic concert, a magnet for all people.
It was in this way that the archangel Michael, seeing his pupils departing for “anextraordinary adventure,” decided to come down to their side on earth, stripping of wings and halo, and keeping only, as a sign of recognition, the flowing white hair, down to the nape. Then the three original suitcases widened and multiplied and the angel’s voices resounded in the most distant lands. In Latin America,Canada, the United States, and in Europe, until their return home, where right away the people received them not as something other than itself, but as something that was already in their heart, in their blood, in their humus (roots).
But, in the middle of the cheering crowd, there was a witch lurking in the name of Mass and surname Media, a slightly waving witch, sometimes good-natured, but more often bad and unjust. However, the boys went undeterred on their way, strewn with satisfactions and triumphs, always accompanied by “Fra Ercole” their trusted advisor, and “sisterBarbara” their putative mother, indispensable support in every difficult and unexpected situation of their wonderful adventure. Meanwhile, the boys, who when they were presented in Rome by the blonde fairy were rather awkward and clumsy, like all the kids of that age, they decided to grow not only in the voice, but also in the physical and in the look, and received help from a whole court of elves and from the magicians Armani and Lardini. They turned them into marvelous princes of a beauty to leave breathless!
Finally, as in all the fables that are respected, here also appears a patron saint, San Placido from Madrid, who loves them, esteems themand elevates them, regardless of criticism and risks, in the highest place, in the empyrean of the lyric, because he understood. As he was inspired also from the sky by his fraternal friend San Luciano da Modena, that these guys, in addition to unique and inimitable voices, received the greatest treasure: the voice of the heart. That voice that goes straight to the heart of the people who listen to them and can reach all the corners of the earth.
And now we are at Christmas.  Gian, Ignazio and Piero have temporarily put away their “suitcases,” ready to take them out soon, because their adventure must continue and continue for a thousand years more.  More and more bright, more and more unique, more and more extraordinary, because they are IL VOLO. ILVOLO because they are always traveling to be close to the people who love them. ILVOLO because they make their voices fly higher than those of the angels, to give people even just a moment of serenity and of joy. IL VOLO because they make the heart of those who listen to them fly towards the infinite.
Â
Merry Christmas, guys with the suitcase, thank you for what you give us, thank you for being in our hearts, thanks for reassuring our minds.Â
The only new theme of the album Notte Magica – Tribute to the three tenors is Ave Maria, Mater Misericordiae, composed by Giorgio F. Pintus and Romano Musumarra. This song, although it was included in the album, was not interpreted by Il Volo in the concert held on July 1, 2016 in the Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, during which the NotteMagica album was recorded live, because it had to be performed during the World Youth Day, in front of Pope Francis.
Unfortunately, Il Volo could not keep up with the Krakow appointment due to technical problems, and the live performance of the song had to be postponed until March 2017.  Il Volo sang live for the first time AveMaria Mater Misericordiae, on March 2, 2017 in Easton (USA), although its official presentation was at the concert of Radio City Music Hall, in New York, on March 4, 2017.
Since the first performance, the song has become a favorite of the Magic Night tour viewers. It is a small jewel, in the purest style of IlVolo, which perfectly adapts to the vocal characteristics of the group. The song, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, begins softly in a low tone with the voice of Gianluca Ginoble, followed by Ignazio Boschetto and increases in intensity in the refrain by Piero Barone. But the climax comes at the end of the song, when Ignazio Boschetto attacks the highest notes and the three voices finally come together in a great harmony. The text is a perfect combination of tradition and modernity and manages to be poetic without being antiquated.
Below is a video of the execution of the Ave Maria, Mater Misericordiae on the day of its presentation in New York on March 4, 2017.

On December 16th the Karkinos Prize was held in Agrigento, an award that is recognized to the excellence of the Agrigento area.
Piero is from Naro which is in the province of Agrigento.  He is beingrecognized for the special prize for music.
Here is the translation of what was said:
“Special Award Karkinos 2017 for Music goes to Piero Barone”
(Piero is seated next to his mother, and a video clip shows Piero’s moments.)
The presenter says she is not used to all these people and all these flashes and thanks Piero for being there. Everyone knows the load of commitments that IL VOLO has and having Piero present is a greathonor.
She goes on to say that Piero was one of the first to arrive on that day and was present all the time. This makes it clear how much Piero is a correct person who is keeping this presence.
Piero is asked what effect this has to receive this award in his land.
Piero replies that he spent his childhood coming every Saturday afternoon from Naro with his dad to sing in the chorusof voices of S.Cecilia and that everything was born from there. Being recognized in his land is the most beautiful thing, gives him somuch satisfaction, and tonight sees so many faces he knows.
Yesterday evening he arrived from Mexico to attend this award.
Carmelo Cantone Carmelo is called to deliver the award. He says that Piero is an undisputed international star, and that it was for two months that it was uncertain because, ….. he comes, he does not come. The father of Piero helped by updating him on his travels. He was in Japan, then in Mexico when Carmelo asked Gaetano, “but when does he return?” Gaetano said “almost certainly” but this “almost” was not a certainty and then Gaetano sent him a message that yesterday he was at the airport to get Piero and Carmelo was finally reassured.
Piero continues by saying that he and Ignazio and Gianluca with Torpedine have founded a new record label to give space to youngtalents, and three of these are Sicilian.
Then talking about his land, Piero says that two weeks a year he has a summer rest.  He passes this time in San Leone, in his land. He could go to the Maldives, but those who want to see him say to come to San Leone, in his Sicilia.
Another award is given to Piero, executed by a jeweler craftsman who makes jewelry dedicated to those who love Sicily and Piero as anambassador in the Sicilian world is an example. The jewel depicts a Trinacria (symbol of Sicily).
A floral tribute is then given to Piero and then the Karkinos prize with the following reasons:
“The Karkinos Prize Commission is pleased to award the special prize for music to Piero Barone for his planetary success in the field of music. Piero Barone, despite his very young age, with his important artistic achievements, has highlighted his land of origin all over the world with humility and pride. The love for his land and his passion for music have made it a masterly example to follow for the many talents of our territory. “
Piero receiving the award says that he is from Naro, was born in Naro, and always returns to Naro where there are many people who love him and these people with the mayor have dedicated a wing of the Castle ofNaro to him, as Piero Baron houseteca. At the beginning he thought “but I’m not dead, I do not want a museum” (everyone laughs) but the housetca has become a reference point for all the fans who follow him and there is a bulletin board dedicated to the prizes and this award will go there.
Piero then says that the success they achieved in Sanremo is not only due to them but to everyone’s affection and explains that he sees his work as that of any craftsman (shoemaker, coachbuilder), he explains that the fans are his clients and he could NEVER deny them an autograph or a photograph.
Then he says that Grande Amore was the song that consecrated themto the public and that he lives in Bologna because he undertook the study of opera for his personal satisfaction.
In the end Piero thanks the audience saying that he really loves everyone.
I am a fan of all three of Il Volo’s boys. I find matchless their way to make music, their song better than the angels, outstanding the idea of putting them together, giving us all a phenomenon that will mark the musical history of these years. So it’s right I love and support them allin equal measure.Â
But, you know, the flesh is weak and nourish a passion, a preference I think is a pardonable sin. Well, my weakness is called Ignazio.  I love Gianluca’s singing, with his wonderful hot and caressing voice, and also Piero, with his excellent male and powerful tone. But Ignazio, in my way of feeling,  has that extra quid, an added value, because he gives me, when I listen, an emotion that no othervoice ever gave me. I tried to analyze, as if it were a chemical reaction, what “reagents” cause me everything and here are the conclusions:
1- Ignazio’s voice is clear and crystal. It is the very essence of FRESHNESS, referring to natural scenery made of clear skies, spring waters, and green blinding meadows. His entrances make the lighter and brighter the musical fabric, think of “Quando l’amore diventa poesia”, “Tornerà l’amore” to the same “Grande amore.”
2 – Ignazio’s voice is FEELING and EMOTION.   When he sings “Memory” or “Unchained Melody,” it becomes penetrating and sensual, digs you into the soul. His vibrations exert a fascination on the listener that leaves the desire that his singing will never end.
3 – Ignazio’s voice is PASSION.   In some songs he does not enter, but “breaks” into the musical fabric.  Just think of “Cinque giorni” or “Aspetterò,” where his impetus opens up scenarios of ardor andpassion as whether it would lead to paroxysmal love.
4- Ignazio’s voice has a thousand facets and shades.   We are accustomed to listening to him in modern and lyrical pop. It was a greatsurprise that last winter, during a House Party broadcast, we saw him masterfully interpret, “Somebody to love,” by  Queen, and naturally bear the impact with the rock style of Gianna Nannini in “Meravigliosa Creatura.”
5 Ignazio’s voice is MUSIC itself. When Ignatio sings, he forgets everything, closes in a bubble of his own, becomes unique with the notes he is interpreting, allowing him to give the text an unprecedented expression.
Below, his solo interpretation of the famous “Caruso,” performed when he was not yet 20 years old in the “Porta a Porta” broadcast, just as an example of the extraordinary nature of this unique voice.
