Christmas Reflections by Lydka

This is my Christmas reflection. I created it last year and today translated it to English, maybe you will like it.

It was born Christmas time, but do we know what lies within us?

Heat and light of candles penetrate into our souls, I wonder what it suspects in the heart? We slog for great gifts and forget that the most beautiful treasures are hidden within each of us.

Love between people, solidarity, honesty, faith in goodness and light is the most beautiful part of a person. You can share with these divine gifts and delight, light up others, perhaps unlucky and sullen people, which ran off from the right road and are looking for their proper course, to find tranquility and peace to their painful hearts and blocked feelings of kindness.

Are we real people only at Christmas, with a heart willing to give out? Or do we know it all year? Angelic bells, will sing hallelujah for all on earth that all people can feel the touch of love, humility, and their spiritual power which could multiply the spiritual transformation of the world. We are at the beginning of something from what may some people have fear, but what can bring a lantern of rays of truth and healing for all inhabitants of the universe.

We are part of the universe, we are wonderful and loving beings who should make more use of the gifts given by God to improve this world presence, let it be the beginning of the thread that will lead an iridescent labyrinth to the stars, where we earn enlightenment and fill with shiny solar, monthly and stellar energy and understand that Christmas should be every day of the year with a smile on our lips. We will know how to deal with each problem, we start to feel the lightness of being, and we spread our wings that lead us to God and the angels and we will feel the infinite love and warmth. It will warm us even in the most cruel frost and deepest darkness of the night, when our ego will want to download our souls from heaven to hell.

Let nothing stop us, let us go towards light with firm steps and reach the diamond clarity of mind, crystalline purity of soul and ruby fire of heart.

Easing into CHRISTMAS with Kitty

WHAT? A FEW MORE DAYS! NOoooo!

YEP, a very few; and I have a feeling that some of you may be stuck right here!

Of course, the ultimate goal is here instead right?

So……here are some suggestions that could help. Great for the night before “THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS” eve. Huh? Whenever is good too! #1 A warm cup of tea, cocoa, cider, or your choice, hummm! #2 Pull on some warm footies. #3 Grab a fuzzy lap blanket, a comfy chair or sofa, and sit yourself down! (Preferably in front of a fire, but on a sofa will do nicely as well). Good, now just take a deep breath,… or several. NICE!

Next, since you can’t frown and smile at the same time, I don’t think, here are a couple of cute things to bring on that smile, and begin to address the stress. (Hey, it rhymes.)

Now, I found this video. It’s very informative, and entertaining. Christmas Traditions elsewhere, including Italy, (of course).

Okay, it’s time for music! A little nostalgia for Christmas? Enjoy!

Now our guys. A little while back, but beautiful. Watch each of them closely. This is one of my favorites because of their intensity, and the very apparent inner respect with which they regard each other.

Hope this has allowed the beauty of what Christmas is meant to be, to shine bright, and bring you peace. Now it’s time to wish you a very joyous, yet thoughtful……

I do have one more thing to share. I wrote this in December 1970. It is one of my very first attempts at writing poetry. Hope you like it.

CHRISTMAS WISHES

A Christmas card felt sad the day that she was picked to bring,

her Christmas greeting, warm and true, fore she wished that she could sing.

Just like a dove in early morn, a song so sweet and clear,

announcing to a waking world, a bright new day is here.

She wished she could express the thoughts, behind her printed words,

and feel the gratefulness that’s felt, but of course, that was absured!

No, she would simply have to make the best of what she had,

for after all, to bring some joy, was certainly not bad.

She knows the one receiving it, will feel within their heart,

the glowing warmth, her message has endeavored to impart.

And even though it’s Christmas, a time so very dear,

her wishes are sincerely wished, each day throughout the year.

I would like to send my thanks and greetings Christmas you and all IL VOLO Flight Crew.

I´ve compiled a clip from a photo of your beautiful meetings. I believe that will remind you of the happy moments in life – and more await you soon / I can only envy/. I look forward to the pictures and reports of the next meeting.

Now I have to bake homemade Christmas cookies /for us it´s tradition and bakes a lot of species.

The Feast of the Seven Fishes is part of the Italian-American Christmas Eve celebration ….

Today, it is a feast that typically consists of seven different seafood dishes. It originates, however, from Southern Italy, where it is known as The Vigil (La Vigilia). However, some Italian-American families have been known to celebrate with nine, eleven or thirteen different seafood dishes. This celebration commemorates the wait, the Vigilia di Natale, for the midnight birth of the baby Jesus.

The long tradition of eating seafood on Christmas Eve dates from the Roman Catholic tradition of abstinence. In this case, refraining from the consumption of meat or milk products – on Wednesdays, Fridays and (in the Latin Church) Saturdays, as well as during Lent and on the eve of specific holy days. As no meat or butter could be used on such days, observant Catholics would instead eat fish, typically fried in oil.

Metamorphosis ~ Mary Bohling

WEBSTER: Metamorphosis: a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one by natural or supernatural means.

The men of Il Volo are beautiful examples of what metamorphosis can be. Think about the little kids who were in the ti lascio conzone contest …..Except for their amazing voices, they were just normal boys, experiencing the typical things for boys of their age. And now think about them as we know them today….young men….so beautiful in appearance and persona that we are in awe at the transformation.

Gianluca expresses their own amazement at this phenomena: “Sometimes I can’t even acknowledge that I’ve become a world famous singer. Sometimes it doesn’t seem real tome, because I still keep inside–WE still keep that naivety, that innocence and simplicity of children.”

Gianluca, the naivety and simplicity that you and your brothers have kept alive through the years of transformation from children to “world-famous singers” is one of the precious things that so endear you to your fans.

Speaking of transformations, it has been amazing to see that you are not only talented musicians, but you also excel at acting. We have been enjoying a feast of new Il Volo videos, all remarkably different in subject matter, style and character–once again proving the versatility of our guys. They fit easily into whatever role they are asked to play.

Gianluca was an adorable Spiderman–that upside down grin, which the girl couldn’t resist kissing (who could?) was just too cute for words.

And we can’t forget Ignazio’s sexy nuzzling of the girl’s neck as he caressed her while at the same time keeping his hand on the vase in progress on the potting wheel.

Piero was a convincing hero as the savior of the woman being compromised in the car.

I loved them all.

And they certainly proved that they can play the role of the romantic leading man in “Canzone per te”. Seeing them in that context , and how well they the parts so convincingly made me realize there was no longer the question, “shall we refer to them as boys or men?” No question any more.

The recent video showing them as outdoors men is another new concept which they handle admirably. Seeing them in hiking boots and casual outdoorsy clothes is quite the transformation from the polished Armani look, but they shine equally well here, too. And they are appealingly romantic with the lucky women who accompanied them.

Hard to be observant of the beautiful fall colors surrounding them when they, themselves, shine so beautifully. All of them are handsome, sexy guys, but outstanding is the glow that Ignazio turns on when gazing into his “love of the moments” eyes. He just oozes sex appeal. Sorry Piero and Gianluca, don’t mean to slight you…you are great, and any one of your fans would adore to be the recipient of your amorous advances.

The latest video has quite a different atmosphere, and I missed the romance angle. I guess I’m a hopeless romantic. but am I neglecting the really important thing here??? the music and the incredible vocal talent? No, no–but the addition of some romance is for me the frosting on the cake.

From caterpillar to butterfly?? Yes, in a way. Our guys have grown and blossomed right before our eyes….and what a treat it has been. With their positive attitudes and talent there is no doubt that they will continue to entertain us and enrich our lives.
