BOIN ~ The Journey, the Reveal and the Whisper! by Susan

The Journey….

Are you enjoying the Journey?
The week began with the little Chick pilot. He just stole my heart! He is adorable!  You know he was with us from the beginning of the journey. I wanted to call him “Wrong Way Charlie” because in our introduction to BOIN he was going in the opposite direction from everyone else. But, as you can see, he finally caught up with us.Color illustration of a little gray bird in yellow and teal airplane
Ignazio’s counterpart welcomed us on this journey! He serenaded us while giving us a vision of what was to come.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKJvJJ4nbvF/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

The first crew member we met was the BOIN teddy bear. We followed him and allowed ourselves to be transported into the vision of BOIN. We didn’t know what to expect but, we were curious so, we got on board!

Black and white illustration of a teddy bear

Each of us has journeyed with the Orcas and the Butterflies to the Aquarium and back home. Oh, by the way, I see some of you are still calling Coco a whale. Coco is not a whale. Orcas are dolphins. They came to be known as whales because ancient fishermen saw them kill a whale and they became known as Killer Whales.
Our journey took us to Palermo where we heard the story of Kalsa the beautiful girl who fell in love with the Moor but, soon she learned that he had a wife and children in the east so, Kalsa, cut off her lovers’ head rather than have him return home. As you know, the head became a vase which became a symbol and then a tradition was born. Every home in Sicily has a traditional Moor’s head vase!
Soon we arrived at Valentine’s Day! We met the two doves, the symbol of love! And the melting heart!

And then everything exploded!

COLOR EVERYWHERE!

Color illustration of an ice cream cone with pink ice cream and a cherry on top

We witnessed the unleashing of color on an Ice Cream cone with sprinkles! We met a new character the little one arm man. Then we met the BOIN Pig and we were reminded that Ignazio is obsessed with Ice Cream. And we ended the week with Miss Daisy. She dazzled us with her beautiful green and yellow dress and her beautiful necklace of white petals!
Finally, the little Chick pilot caught up with us and he brought along some interesting characters who he met along the way.

After Chick landed, we met quite an unusual character, if that’s what she is??? When I first saw ChupaBoin, I really didn’t know what to make of her!
And then the question! Can you be sensual without being vulgar? Can you be sexy without being vulgar?

Black and white illustration of lips with a lollipop

When I saw the Black and White picture, I thought, what is that! I see the lollipop but, I couldn’t make out what else was in the picture. So, I cheated, I went to the color picture.

Color illustration of red lips with a yellow lollipop

When I went back to the Black and White picture, I thought, this one will be tricky!
How do you invite your senses to enjoy a lick without being vulgar?
I decided to wait for further instructions. The instructions didn’t come and, I decided,
Only a lollipop can understand how it is possible to be sensual and sexy without being vulgar!
Then we were introduced to another symbol ~ the Fica d’india. It’s a prickly pear, which is a cactus. It is the Symbol of Italy. We are asked, “what is your country’s symbol?” The Rose is America’s symbol.
Color illustration of a prickly pear
Have you ever seen this cactus or prickly pear before? My grandfather was from Calabria so, I have. Interesting fact, the fico d’india thrives around the island of Sicily. It also goes by the name of the Barbary Fig. Sicilians and Calabrians make a liquor from it. Liquore di fico d’india is similar to limoncello.  Substitute the lemons with fico d’india. So good!

And soon another character arrives! ~Mickey Boin. Is he a character or a Crew Member? Not sure! A little clarity guys!
Black and while illustration of a Mickey Mouse type character
And the questions! “At what age do you stop being a kid?”
We know you don’t stop in your 20’s or 30’s because of the two guys who are doing these posts. I can personally tell you, you, never stop being a kid! If you do, you stop dreaming! And all your wishes disappear. “A wish is a dream your heart makes…”
Always follow your heart and your dreams! A good place to start @boincollection

And then there was Homer Simpson’s counterpart! And the question, “What’s your favorite cartoon?”
I’m more of a Mickey Mouse person than a Homer Simpson person! I only watch cartoons with kids!

The Reveal!

Soon we will understand what BOIN really is!
Now it’s time to open the box and unveil the secret of BOIN. The BOIN Winter Collection.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/CLrzbeUCsbI/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

By the way, love the box, very chic! Nice packaging!
So, what’s in the box? The BOIN hat that adorable Noah wore and a book. Is it a notebook, a coloring book or a cartoon book? Let’s ask the Chick and the Owl.

The Whisper!

What’s the secret? Whisper in my ear.
What’s all the whispering about? Do you know what’s in the book? I do but, I really can’t say. It’s part of the reveal.
Do you know BOIN?
What I know about BOIN is very exciting!  The characters are wonderful! And now, we learn something new every day!

But really, who is your favorite character?
The moment of truth!
The little Chick pilot is my absolute favorite character. Look at how cute he is. You can’t tell me he didn’t steal your heart away!
Color illustration of a little gray bird in yellow and teal airplane
I noticed him on day one and I waited for him to arrive. There’s something so sweet about him! Like those two sweet guys who created him!
Let’s find a nice Chick for him. I meant the Pilot!

FOLLOW @boincollection for a continuing Journey that will Reveal much more to Whisper about!

IL VOLO AGAIN IN SANREMO!! by Daniela

What did I write to you a week ago, concluding the post of “On the road to Sanremo”? That Il Volo would return to Sanremo again, both as a guest and as a competitor ………….. and in fact, the news is yesterday.

Il Volo will be a guest on March 3 in Sanremo.

Left to right: Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero in the recording studio. Piero is holding a guitar.

This is the official news given by Il Volo.
We are pleased and honored to inform you that Wednesday 3 March we will be guests at the Sanremo Festival!
We will perform on the Ariston stage with a tribute to Ennio Morricone, a small preview of the great concert that will take place in June.
The Festival Orchestra will be conducted exceptionally by Andrea Morricone, the son of the great Maestro.
We want to thank Amadeus (host of Sanremo 2021) for inviting us, it will be a beautiful and emotional performance that we can’t wait to participate in!

Left to right: Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero in suits

And here is what the newspaper LA REPUBBLICA writes.

LA REPUBBLICA article – Click Here

Il Volo returns to Sanremo. After the victory in 2015 with Grande Amore and the podium in 2019 with Musica che resta, the trio will be guests of the second evening of the Festival, Wednesday 3 March. Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble will take the stage of the Ariston with an exciting performance in homage to Ennio Morricone accompanied by the orchestra of the Sanremo Festival which for the occasion will be directed by the son of the master, Andrea Morricone. The three artists will retrace the melodies of the musician, composer and author of the most beautiful soundtracks of Italian and world cinema, awarded with an Oscar.
This performance, the second at Ariston as guests, will be a preview of the concert-event of the Flight to be held in June 2021, an overwhelming journey into the art of one of the greatest composers of the twentieth century entitled Il Volo tribute to Ennio Morricone which will also be the title of the new album which will be released worldwide for Sony Music by the end of 2021.

Left to right: Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca in leather jackets

So, the various photos in the recording room concern the new CD which will be with Morricone’s music.
Furthermore, also in the schedule of RAI 1, the Il Volo Tribute event for Morricone is confirmed on June 5.

I think it will be a fantastic project.

And so here we are again in Sanremo, where I am sure, you will bewitch us once again.

We are so proud of the event you are preparing and the photos that come to us show that you are fully and personally involved in this project. You are now men capable of making your decisions for better or for worse.

And we will support you, waiting with trepidation for this new work which, I’m sure, will be beautiful.

See you very soon:  Daniela

(Throwback/Repost…) How to Overcome Il Volo Depression, or IVD…

Hello folks!  I originally wrote this nearly 4 years ago, back in April of 2017!    I believe Lorna and I (and many others) had just returned from their “last” US concert for their Notte Magica tour in Atlanta.  It was recently brought to my attention again and I reread it, personally amazed that I even wrote something this amazing!  Haha!  Hope you enjoy it again, or for some, for the first time!  🙂  With everything going on, I felt we all needed an extra innoculation to help with the current vaccine going around!

This post got a lot of nice comments the first time around – grazie mille!  🙂

(just a “word or two” of warning – this is quite long…. 🙂 )

___________________________________________________________________________

Definition of IVD: noun

  1. State of being sad when Il Volo leaves your countryPicture14

Symptoms:

  1. Feeling of hopelessness of not knowing when they will return
  2. Excessive sleeping, hoping you will dream about them one more time
  3. Condition of feeling lost without their touch, hugs, or smiles
  4. Loneliness one is left with after seeing them too many times in a matter of a few months
  5. The desire to follow them to their next concert no matter where it is
  6. Your “no-limit” credit card is suddenly your best friend and you try to figure out how many mileage points you need for a free, or at least discounted trip to Italy – even if they won’t be there!
  7. Avoiding social media and looking at their pictures, or even listening to their music, because it just hurts too much (this is a very severe symptom, that must be dealt with ASAP!)
  8. If given the Rorschach test, no matter what blob you see, you say either Piero, Gianluca, Ignazio, or all three!
  9. There are likely more symptoms than those indicated above, however those stated are ones observed most often in recent concert-goers during the first leg of their Notte Magica tour in the United States.

Causes:

  1. Buying tickets with meet/greets for as many concerts you can afford
  2. Seeing them three or more times in a matter of a few weeks
  3. Tracking them down at their hotel, and hoping to catch a glimpse of them on the street
  4. Having awesome meet/greets, making you want to go back and have another and another!
  5. Knowing they have a new album coming out and just sitting there, frozen, until you hear their new music
  6. Some causes are unknown…as they may be personal to each individual, and have not yet been documented.

Cures:Picture12

There are no known cures for this, which is similar to Ilvoloitis. IVD is often a side-effect of Ilvoloitis, happening most often during their world tours. Ilvoloitis and IVD are especially dangerous for newbie Ilvolovers. Although Ilvoloitis and IVD are extremely contagious, no one really seems to want a real cure, however, there is the desire to learn to cope with the somewhat serious side-effects and symptoms of this condition.

There are many, many, websites out there on how to deal with depression. Two that I found are: http://www.wikihow.com/Overcome-Depression and https://www.helpguide.org/articles/depression/dealing-with-depression.htm

Let’s see if we can adapt some of their suggestions to IVD.

The helpguide.org had 6 tips for overcoming depression:

Tip #1 – Reach out and stay connected

As the old AT&T catchphrase goes – “reach out, reach out and touch someone….reach out and just say ciao!” Ok, we can’t reach out and touch the guys at this time, but we can reach out and touch, and call, other local Ivolovers. Who doesn’t want to hear from a fellow fan and talk into the wee hours of the morning, all about their concerts, meet/greets, and fantasies of meeting them again on the street, or at their hotel? With recent technology, you could start a group text (however, I caution you with this one, be careful that those in your group will not be upset, or need to get up in the morning!)

This is also a good time to find more Ivolovers in your area. Plan a party with your current group. Get together to celebrate their birthdays – Piero’s is next on JunePicture15 24. Check out the various FaceBook pages – there may be some fellow fans lurking closer than you think!

If you can’t get together personally, plan a Skype party. I think you can have up to 24 or so people on one site. Find someone that has a big screen TV and hook up!

Tip #2 – Do things that make you feel good

One thing they suggest is volunteering. Why not do something in the “name of Il Volo?” Donate to your favorite charity. Spend time at a homeless shelter, soup kitchen, animal shelter, or spend time with those with special needs. All the while, you can share your love of the guys by sharing their music and introducing new fans. Remember, not all things contagious are bad?

This is also a good time to get in touch with your local PBS station and start volunteering. You may get the inside news on the next time they are coming back to town!

They also suggest getting in touch with your creative side… now is the time to sit down and write some prose – that meaningful poem you’ve been waiting to write, or now is the time for that fan fiction short story you always wanted to write. How about a little drawing or painting? Remember, we are not all DaVinci’s, but no one can duplicate what you are feeling in your heart. It will come through on the blank canvas or piece of paper. The hardest part is that first stroke or word…

If you haven’t already, clear a space in your house – a bookshelf area is a great place and fill it with all things Il Volo. We know everyone has saved every ticket, Picture20meet/greet lanyard, CDs, DVDs, VIP gifts, pictures, etc. that we don’t know what to do with. This is your opportunity to put it on display for everyone to see. I plan to do this, but just haven’t gotten the chance yet. You could even make a few shadow boxes with little Il Volo souvenirs and memorabilia. Get to the craft store and use your coupons!

You could also get together with some of your friends and share some pictures and make a scrapbook of all of your adventures and concerts together!

Also, getting some exercise or listening to music – or doing both at the same time!! How often do we see Piero or Ignazio walking away on the tread mill withPicture21 their ear buds in? Go outside and get some good ol’ “O Sole Mio!” See, just seeing the sunshine will remind you of the guys and their first signature song.

Tip #3 – Move vigorously

Ok, that may seem too difficult, but there’s nothing wrong with looking at a few “nice” pictures to at least get our hearts racing? If not our feet! However, as above, a little walk in the sunshine is wonderful. Maybe put on one of their peppier tunes and walk to the beat of the music. I bet you won’t even realize how fast you are walking. Volare is a great one to walk to!

Tip #4 – Eat a healthy, mood-boosting diet!

Of course, eating healthier will make you feel better. Most Italian food is healthy for you if you limit your cheese and alcohol and eat pasta in properly portioned amounts. Unless you are Piero and can walk 10 miles on the treadmill, I don’t think I’d recommend a plate of pasta every day. But mix that pasta with extra virgin olive oil and garlic and that’s a great treat for your heart and maybe a little red wine on the side. Can’t forget a little gelato for dessert. Some gelato actually has less calories than ice cream.

It’s also a great time to go on that diet and lose those 10 pounds we all want to lose – who knows, maybe it will turn into more. Every time we reach for that cookie, we can think – “what would Piero do?”

Tip #5 – Get more sunlight (we went over this one already….)Picture19

Tip #6 – Challenge negative thinking

You are thinking – “I will never see them again!” Do not think that, you WILL see them again, we just don’t know when. Until we see them again, refer to tips one through five! Or, you may think… I just can’t afford it! But this is the best time ever because they might not be back for over a year – we have time to save up for it now! Even if you can afford only ten or twenty dollars a week, or less, it adds up pretty quickly – at least enough for a ticket, and maybe even a meet/greet. (sure hope they don’t raise those prices anymore – or I may not be able to afford it either!)

Here are some personal tips from me!

  1. This may be difficult, but think back to when you first discovered them. How did you feel? The smile that slowly, or quickly grew on your face. The feeling that you just had to tell everyone you knew about the greatest discovery you ever found on PBS. How many people did you call?
  2. The time you saw them and decided you just HAD to see them in concert, no matter what, where, or when? For me, it was when I saw them for the 2nd time on PBS, about late August in 2013, during their We Are Love tour. I specifically knew the time because their next show was at the Fox on Sept 5 and it was my mom’s birthday. But it was during their rendition of Beautiful Day and Ignazio’s solo part that just took me in and I was an immediate goner and luckily, I was able to see them the following June in 2014.
  3. When did you become an official Ilvololver? Meaning, you suddenly could just not get enough of them? For me, it was after seeing them at Freedom Hill that late spring of 2014. When I got home, I feverishly combed the Internet each evening, soaking up every song, every interview and every video I could find of them for the remainder of the summer. Grabbing at each and every tidbit of info I could find, until I finally stumbled upon the Flight Crew site! I knew I had found my solace here, when I started reading all of the stories and comments from the readers. I was no longer alone in my quest, but felt at home.
  4. Do you remember that feeling you got when you found out you were going to meet them for the first time? I remember the giddiness of a schoolgirl, when us Detroit gals were putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 4, figuring out they were coming to PBS to promote their Pompeii album. After I found out I was also volunteering that same night, I just could not sit still. I remember walking around the block and literally skipping along thinking, “I’m going to meet them, I’m going to meet them! OMG, what am I going to say, wear, etc.?” I knew others had met them before, but like many things, the first time is always the most special.
  5. Do you remember the first time you had front row seats? I felt guilty, but I turned in my PBS tickets for the last two front row seats at the Fox. I got front row, I got front row, I screamed to myself. It was at the end of the day at work and I could not sit still – good thing it was almost time to go home. I could not wait to tell someone who cared and my dear friend Ginny who was the lucky recipient of the other ticket!
  6. Do you remember that often dazed feeling you got after meeting them at a meet/greet after a concert? You are barely coherent and hardly remember anything because you are still in a hypnotic state after hearing their incredible voices.
  7. And last, but not least, the feeling you had and will never forget, of seeing them perform not, once, but twice in their homeland of Italy. Under the beautiful evening air, the feeling was magical both times.
  8. Think of all of the new friends you have made in the last several years – all over the world. Think of all of the new places you have seen and never would have seen, had it not been for Il Volo. Think of some of your talents that may have been hidden, that have blossomed forth all because of them. Think of all of the new techie things you have learned on the computer and your phone.
  9. Think of all things Italian you now care about, if you didn’t already.
  10. Think of all the love, joy, and passion you have given and received – all in the name of Il Volo. When we think of that, how could we possibly be depressed? How many of us have healed ourselves through their music and bonding with each other over this love of these 3 men? They have touched our lives in ways we never thought possible, nor existed. They have touched our lives in ways they will never know, no matter how much we tell them. Men and women; young and old, from all over the world.

Picture13

Even though there is no known cure, I hope that coming to the “Flight Crew – Share the Love” site each and every morning fills at least a small part of this void in your life. Just reading the comments everyone makes, even while I’m at work, will put a smile on my face. Our fearless Editor-in-Chief, Marie, along with Kelly, Leelee, Mary, Jane, Daniela, Dani, and all of the other contributors from around the globe take time out of their busy days to keep us all informed the best they can of where the guys are. I think we need a new category – “where in the world are the guys now?”  I know I feel better now, having written this. Just remembering all of those things, makes you happy. Although they are as fleeting as a beautiful sunrise or sunset, the memory of them remains in your heart and soul, just as their voices lift us to incredible highs, so we can deal with some of the worst lows. It is such a joy and honor to know all of you! I feel truly blessed to have you and Il Volo in my life!

In the words of Charlie Chaplin… “Smile….! Life is still worthwhile, if you just smile… (and think of Il Volo!)”

So, we want to hear from you!  What tips do you have to get you through the day without the guys?  For those new to this site, tell us your story!  Do you have a favorite CD or concert you watch?  If you like sushi, does it remind you of the guys when you eat it?

All photo credits to Judy Thurman from the last concert in Atlanta. Edits are mine.  🙂

and to Marie, for the inspiration to write this – I texted her complaining of IVD and she said the more you see them, the worse it becomes…

Ciao – Jana

BOIN ~ It’s Delicious! by Susan

Thank you, Ignazio and Fabio. You unleashed the color in the most delicious way!
This has been an exciting week on BOIN!
We started our week with Valentine’s Day and the symbol of love, two turtle doves.
The guys really got into Valentine’s Day! They used the turtle doves to draw us in and then asked the question “How will you spend this day of love?”
The turtle doves symbolize love and faithfulness, they mate for life, work together to build nests and raise their young together. Nothing more romantic than that!
Maybe Fabio was thinking about Noah and the creation of his family!
They followed that with a heart with one face. And the saying “Happy Singles party. May your other half arrive soon.” I think the idea of the post was that singles can be comfortable with their status. And if love comes along, that’s good too!
I saw the post as a heart waiting to be loved. I quoted, “I await you with such desire that my heart melts with love for you!” So, I’m a romantic!
I think Ignazio and Fabio are romantics too!
Then there were the ice cream cones. My thought is the ice cream cone in black and white left something to be desired! Could that be Color?
Finally, after a month of wondering and waiting, the Color begins!
I can’t think of a better way to express color! Who doesn’t like an ice cream cone and with sprinkles too! WOW, that certainly was scrumptious!
The colors were rich! They shook up our senses! They brought back summers on the beach and, beautiful, delightful treats!
I think the idea for gelato came from Ignazio. I don’t know how much Fabio likes it but, I do know Ignazio loves gelato and ice cream.
Time to introduce some new characters!
Our first character is a little guy with one arm torn off. “When you help others and, they take all of you!”  And the question, “Let us know, in the comments, if this ever happened to you.”
I think they were trying to say that sometimes you help people and, they take advantage of you! They tear you apart!
Or maybe they were using it as a metaphor on love. Love can tear you apart!
I will say the character in black and white caused quite a stir. Many thought he was so sad. But, when the COLOR showed up, he was a happy little guy! Isn’t it amazing what color can do?

After the question “Black and White or Color,” we found out that it was almost an even split. So, Fabio and Ignazio informed us that BOIN will continue in Black and White but will definitely continue to bring us Color! It’s only right that they should continue in Black and White. It’s their signature! The minute Black and White comes up on Instagram, we know there’s a new post from BOIN!
Remarkable that Black and White can attract more attention than Color! Bravo guys!
And, then there was the little pig. In Black and White he reminded me of an old piggy bank!
Odd that, in color, he was dripping in ice cream!
Someone is obsessed with ice cream, Ignazio!!!

Well ladies, today the guys gave us a nod! They introduced us to a valuable BOIN Crew member. In her elegant Black and White business suit, Daisy, proudly represented all of us out there!
Daisy also proved that ladies know how to have fun! After work, she stepped out in her lovely yellow and green ensemble with a beautiful petal white necklace! ! “Isn’t She Lovely!” Maybe she’ll meet the love of her life! You go girl! And you go ladies to @boincollection to FOLLOW the achievements of all the BOIN Crew Ladies!
So, the guys spent the week telling us that we can find love or lose love in many different ways!
In the person who shares Love with us! In the family we create from Love! Or in the scrumptious Ice Cream that we Love! And they remind us that Love can be lost but it can always be found again! No matter how you say Love, It’s Delicious!

HE IS WORSE THAN ME by Daniela

The news was published a few days ago by Panariello (comedian and presenter), on Instagram, Il Volo was the guest of the broadcast on RAI3,  LUI È PEGGIO DI ME  (HE IS WORSE THAN ME), conducted by Panariello and Giannini, Thursday 18 February at 9:20 pm (Italian time).
The next day it was confirmed by the official Il Volo facebook page:
Hello “ilvolovers”, we have  news for you: Thursday 18 February we will be guests of “He is worse than me” from 21.20 on Rai 3.
We are waiting for you!

Needless to say, this news made us very happy, seeing Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio on TV makes us happy, also because it is a rather sad period for many people:
viruses,
pandemics,
restrictions,
vaccinations,
blizzards,
cold,
in short – a really hard time.
Who knows what they will sing ? Who knows what they will do !!!
I saw the show and I have to make a small premise.
This show is hosted by Panariello, comedian and presenter and Giallini, actor and comedian. The screenplay imagines a television studio divided into two halves by a wall, a more serious part held by Panariello who does interviews with guests and a more rock part, held by Giallini.
The whole show is focused on humorous jokes, even if they are said in a serious tone. Translating, it is difficult to make people understand if a sentence is joking or not, so I thought of inserting smiley faces at the end if the sentence is ironic, and hearts if the sentence is said seriously.
And now enjoy the video and the translation.

PANARIELLO = It’s the moment of three guests that I particularly care about.
More than three guests, I would say three friends, they are the most famous musical group in the world. They duet with the biggest stars of the stage, of the international music scene.
They’ve filled the biggest theaters in the world, like NYC’s RCMH and more.
They even sang in front of Pope Francis.
Ladies and gentlemen: IL VOLO.  (start the video, only Ignazio enters)
IGNAZIO= Good evening
PANARIELLO = Good evening
IGNAZIO = How are you?
PANARIELLO = Good. And you, all right? Please (sit down).
IGNAZIO = Beautiful tie. 😁
PANARIELLO = Thanks. (he looks behind the scenes, to see if the other two arrive ….. but they don’t arrive) 😁

Il Volo … so, Ignazio Boschetto, here you are, I Ignazio, I always say it, I consider you a bit the leader of the group, 😁 let’s face it, you are the most fascinating one, but now I don’t want to be here to make you compliments.
IGNAZIO = I am the tallest! 😁
PANARIELLO =, Yes, the one a little higher.
I wanted to ask you, how are you doing with the others in the group? How is it going in this situation in which you cannot go around the world, for you three also a sort of forced coexistence, working together every day, how is the relationship now?
IGNAZIO= Fortunately, the lock-down made us stay a little distant 😁
But we missed so much, to stay away from each other ……. we are like a family, used to living 6/7 months a year, always together, and finding ourselves far away, without being able to share a stage, nor share an emotion, because in the end it is what we do during the year, that is to share many emotions together. It was difficult, but then, getting back to spending time together was even more beautiful. ❤
PANARIELLO = You have rediscovered the joy of being together again.
Look, so many historical groups have split, from Sting who left POLICE, Roger Water who left PINK FLOYD, Renzi who left PD 😁 (he’s an Italian politician who left his political group), have you ever thought to do, and you deserve it, a solo career, alone?, go on alone? … you could do it very well ..
IGNAZIO = Absolutely not, I never thought about it, I’m fine like this, I like what we sing, I like what we do, it would be stupid to think of making a career alone.❤
PANARIELLO = Well, this does you honor, it does you a lot of honor.
IGNAZIO = Thank you. A little, I also had to say it. 😁
However nice the tie.😁😁
PANARIELLO= Thank you, very kind, I chose it personally.😁
Listen, now the time has come to enter a little more into the character Ignazio, I would like to ask you a slightly embarrassing question … (very loud rock sounds start from the nearby studio) …… excuse a second. (approaches the partition wall)
“Giallini please do me a courtesy, you can make sounds a little softer with the band, come on please, a little calmer.”
GIALLINI = Forgive me.
PANARIELLO = (goes back to his seat and the interlocutor has changed, now Gianluca is here, Panariello is surprised but continues) 😁
Hi!
GIANLUCA = Good evening.
PANARIELLO = Ah, Gianluca Ginoble.
In my opinion, look, I am not telling you this because you are here, but in my opinion you are the real leader, charismatic leader of the group ….😁
GIANLUCA = The others listen, look they get offended …😁
PANARIELLO = But let’s say these things !!😁
GIANLUCA = Nice tie, I like it.😁
PANARIELLO = Thank you, very kind.
GIANLUCA = Did you choose it?
PANARIELLO = I chose it myself, there were three or four and I chose this one, really decided. I’m glad you like it.
In short, I like talking to you, because talking to you is like talking to the whole group, I know, you are the one who has the decision-making power 😁
However the question I wanted to ask you … has there ever been a moment when Piero and Ignazio have embarrassed you, sometimes?
GIANLUCA = Every day,  it’s a sacrifice, I have to take them with me, you can’t understand ….😁
PANARIELLO = I know, what can you do?
GIANLUCA = Look, being in the middle of two Sicilians ….. Sicilians are strong, they have a unique personality and charisma.
PANARIELLO = They are of character.
GIANLUCA = They are strong, and I love them very much! ❤
PANARIELLO = They are a little crazy. Is there any of the two who, offstage, poses as a star? There are many stars who have strange claims, for example the M&M (colored chocolates) all the same …..
GIANLUCA = Ignazio lives in his world. Ignazio is an all-round artist. Piero makes me die, because every time, even if you are on the other side of the world, for example you are in Tokyo, and he orders pasta with tomato.
PANARIELLO = In Tokyo.
GIANLUCA = In Tokyo or in Russia. Once they brought him a bundle all together, which he could stick to the wall, but every time, three hours before singing, he wanted pasta with tomato.
PANARIELLO = Pasta is very difficult to find really good in the world.
GIANLUCA = But in Tokyo they eat “ramen” at least (Japanese food).
PANARIELLO = (loud sounds of electric guitars are heard) But who has invented the guitars that make a noise … (and he goes towards the partition wall), but you can’t use a flute?
GIALLINI = Bring me a flute …
PANARIELLO = Come on, play a piece of Jethro Tull.
(he returns to his seat, but as he sits down, he sees that Piero is now on the sofa).
PANARIELLO = Piero Barone. Piero Barone is the undisputed leader, in my opinion, you are ….. that is, the group would not exist if you weren’t there, are you aware of this? Do you feel this responsibility of having everything in your hand? 😁
PIERO = Now, let’s not exaggerate, you are calling me a leader, but I have to call you “brave”.
PANARIELLO = Why?
PIERO = The tie, one like this I think I’ve never seen it in my life😁
PANARIELLO = (a little embarrassed) Ok, but people at home don’t care about my tie.😁
PIERO = Ok, you like it !!
PANARIELLO = Yes I like it, I personally chose it, it’s just a tie.
PIERO = Right, we don’t make a case of it.
PANARIELLO = Listen, you have sung with great international stars, you have also won everything in your career, right?
There was a star who particularly moved you, there is one that you thought, “Look who I’m singing with …”
PIERO = I think the most exciting moment of our career was when we sang in front of Pope Francis in Panama.❤
It was also one of the most embarrassing moments, because they lost my luggage that day, with my suit.
I got the suit back, but I had to sing in sneakers, I was hoping that the director would concentrate somewhere else ….
PANARIELLO = He cut your feet …
PIERO = Fortunately there is Ignazio who is taller than me, therefore, they either framed my feet or cut Ignazio’s face, so they preferred Ignazio’s face.
PANARIELLO = Listen, when we Italians want to sing a foreign song, for example Ob-la-dì Ob-la-da by the Beatles (he sings the refrain in English distorted by the Italian and Piero sings another refrain), we Italians sing very badly in English. 😁
PIERO = Yes, we Italians use a particular language, all of our own (for to sing in English, if we don’t know English)
PANARIELLO = Instead, when you are abroad, and you sing Italian songs, you will have your fans, people who sing with you, these songs. How do they sing? Are they able to sing them?
PIERO = The problem is not only the songs, but also our name. In South America: IL BOLO. In America IL VOLVO !! 😁 So we already have to solve the name problem.
For the songs …. I’ll give you an example: IL MONDO ….(Piero sings the refrain)
“gira il mondo gira, nella GIOGIA….😁😁.” (exact is GIOIA  which means joy. Giogia, a nickname sometimes also used to name the female sex)
Explain to me, dear Giorgio, what GIOGIA is?.😁
PANARIELLO = I could have an idea … (Piero laughs) … there are so many ways to call it ….
Listen about GIOGIA (he means joy), I have a great desire to give you a gift.
PIERO = Thank you !!
PANARIELLO = When all this madness (virus) will end, everything that is happening around us, and we can go back to doing the show, I too, like you, all over the world ….
PIERO = We are pro-positive.
PANARIELLO = Me, at most arrival  in Fucecchio (a town in Florence), while you, in all the world. I thought of giving you a gift, this travel beauty that can be convenient for you? (He bends down to take the beauty and when he gets up, the interlocutor is Giallini)
GIALLINI = Thank you.😁
PANARIELLO = What are you doing here?
GIALLINI = What, what am I doing? I’m resting the bones! Two minutes, can’t you?
PANARIELLO = It is not the place to rest the bones, it is the place where my guests are. Back then, I had Il Volo.
GIALLINI = (he looks at his watch) You had the flight (Volo – Flight), by now you have lost it ….
PANARIELLO = But now you can’t travel. Not that flight there! I don’t have an airplane flight, I had Il Volo, the Italian group, Il Volo.😁
GIALLINI = Ah, those three guys ??
But they’ve been there for a long time (in the other studio, the rock one)
PANARIELLO = How are they staying with you?
GIALLINI = Yes, they’re over there.
(Somebody to Love by Queen begins)
PANARIELLO = What infamous 😁
GIALLINI = Damn what a figure 😁
PIERO = But where are you going?
GIALLINI = So guys, how are you doing?
GIANLUCA = But you have the baritone notes.
GIALLINI = Yes, I am a baritone (as a singing tone).
However great, great piece, great Queen. So you don’t just do Madam Butterfly and that kind of thing …. but there is something that didn’t convince me, to be rock you also need to have the spirit ….
GIANLUCA = We tried, it’s not our thing ….
GIALLINI = The song turned out very well, but I want to give you a test, do we want to do it?
PIERO = Go.
GIALLINI = First, to be a rock band do you have Groupies? (for us groupies it means the hard core of the fans).
IGNAZIO = Sure.
GIANLUCA = You don’t realize.
GIANNINI = Do you make any excesses? (rock bands always make excesses)
IGNAZIO = Our (fans) are called the FLIGHT CREW (YAY! they remember us  ❤!!!!) I don’t know if you know English but it means …..
GIANNINI = Of course I know.
GIANLUCA = There are excesses.
GIALLINI = Are there always excesses?
PIERO = Every evening.
GIALLINI = Really ??
GIANLUCA = We can talk about it, but it remains between us.
GIALLINI = Do you have after hours, parties?
IGNAZIO = Before and after …
GIALLINI = I see you on the right track (of rock). I thought you were less knowledgeable on the subject.
GIANLUCA = Because you usually see us in a suit and tie, but…….
IGNAZIO = I don’t sit down, because I feel rock and roll. 😁
PIERO = (he is looking at the cover of the KISS album) This looks like the cover of our first CD.
GIANLUCA = (Picking up another album) Do you know that they copied this one? Do you know the original was from Elvis Presley?
GIALLINI = You don’t know who you’re talking to, my boy. I know well. 😁
GIANLUCA = Sorry I underestimated you! 😁 But don’t get mad.
GIALLINI= No, I’m not angry.
One question, what’s the most rock thing you’ve done?
GIANLUCA = You will die of envy. 😁 We will tell you a story and you will die of envy. Sit comfortably.
GIALLINI= I’m talking about rock stuff.
GIANLUCA= (says to Piero) Tell him that thing.
PIERO = We were on tour in America. Concert in Las Vegas, Guns ‘N Roses sang on our day off. I go to see Guns’ N Roses, I love it. Sing Axl Rose and finally on the Paradise City song, Axl Rose, throws the microphone, the one with the red sponge cover. Who takes it? Me.
GIALLINI = You?
PIERO = What was I supposed to do? Everyone wanted it, all the people on me, but the microphone was mine, what do I do? I had baggy pants, I put the microphone inside in here. There was a tall person with me, luckily Alessio Guerrieri (tour technician) whom I greet, hello Alessio, he takes me on his shoulders and tells me … “let’s go, let’s run away”. We arrive at the hotel and I tell them (Ignazio and Gianluca). They are incredulous, but I have the microphone.
GIALLINI = You have Axl Rose’s microphone at your home.
PIERO = Yes, but I won’t let you touch it because I put it in my pants.
GIALLINI = You still have the microphone with a red sponge.
PIERO = I can’t give it away, of course. 😁
GIANLUCA = Maybe the Groupies would appreciate it. 😁
IGNAZIO = If you want to hear something rock, I can do Axl Tulipan. (he is making a play on words: Axl Rose and Axl Tulip, two flower names)

GIALLINI = Please everyone away !!
(Ignazio plays an excerpt from Back in Black by AC/DC on the electric guitar)
GIALLINI = Guys, applause.
You answered me a little like that about rock, but I thought worse.
GIANLUCA = Did we surprise you?
GIALLINI = A lot
IGNAZIO = You must know that I train with AC-DC songs, I like them a lot.
GIALLINI = Really?
I wanted to tell you, for the moment I give you the “pink sheet” (qualification) for the “driving license”, we have to wait for the next edition of the program, which Giorgio and I will never do.😁
Guys I tell you, you are truly humble, and this does you honor, and you are great.❤
Ladies and gentlemen: IL VOLO.

Well, I hope you have understood everything about the translation.

What can I say, Ignazio remembered Flight Crew, he remembered us, and it’s not the first time, what a joy !!

Nice presentation of everyone on the sofa and I hope you understand the Italian humor.

Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca appeared very relaxed and at ease.

Ignazio’s rock soul is very pleasant and Queen’s songs are certainly among the most suitable for them.

Once again they have shown that they can do anything, their ability ranges from classic to pop to rock and always well performed.

We saw them in a slightly unusual guise, but always an excellent one.

You liked them?

Daniela
