IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…….

girl

Hi Everyone,

Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are home relaxing! Il Volo had a successful whirlwind concert here in the States during June. I know it was successful by all of your wonderful experiences you took time to share with us. I know it was successful because of the beautiful photos you shared and by all of the heartfelt comments you have left here. THANK-YOU EVERYONE!!

Comments have been interesting this week in the wake of concert fever AND concert withdrawal. We found a new word for us more mature fans thanks to Barbara Dixon, ” Granny Groupies”! I love that Barbara, thanks! Now we have “Fan Girls” (you know who you are) and “Granny Groupies”, just about covers us! Thanks to Jeanine our “obsession” for “Our Guys” is “passion”! That really describes us to a tee, also sounds more classy 🙂 Thanks!

There has not been too much information from Il Volo. Piero is most active on social media, Gianluca has sent some tweets and photos. Ignazio’s choice seems to be to take a break for a while. We certainly understand that but we miss hearing from him!

Piero and Ignazio have gotten new cars, we saw Ignazio’s last week. Piero tweeted: “Bye bye Mini, new car is coming”

Gianluca is hanging with friends and going to the beach.

Gianluca did tweet “time flies” He’s right, it’s 5 years since Il Volo started to sing together. Here is a comparison then and now!

Gianluca tweeted Friday. “Happy 50th birthday daddy” We add our congratulations to Mr Ginoble on his birthday!

Check out Piero’s new multicolored glasses! He tweeted that they are “Utralimited Sunglasses” and they have his signature on them.

Don’t forget the Il Volo convention in Bloomington, Mn, August 9 and 10. See the “Attention all Flight Crew Fans”  post below for the details.

Good news, there has been an Ignazio sighting today, Sunday! Looks like he is enjoying being with his friends!!

Hi Everyone,

It seems we haven’t missed much lately. We have had some fabulous concert experiences shared here. The memories and the sharing seem to be making everyone closer together. We love the pictures you have sent and have enjoyed the great stories that go with them. I have especially enjoyed all the pictures of you, the flight crew, now I feel like I know you better. Concert season for us has  flown by, now we await their next concerts here in the USA.

The Guys of Il volo have really not rested much since they have been home, but they did send us some tweets and photos of their down time.

Il Volo did not go straight home from the USA, they went to Cannes first and  they got to experience their first helicopter ride! They were thrilled with it. I myself was a little concerned about their safety, I guess I worry too much!cannes2.jpgcannes1.jpg

When they did get home it was PLAY time!! Gianluca and Piero hit the beach with family and friends.ggbeach

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…….

Report

Hi Everyone,

This post is entitled “In Case You Missed it” but I don’t think we missed all that much!! We have been so fortunate to have Elaines two reviews of the concerts in Modesto and Saratoga. We had the benefit of Connie’s experience in Saratoga. Myron has provided us with his amazing insight and review of the concert at the Greek in LA.  We have seen one of a kind photos and videos of the first two concerts provided by Elaine. Thanks Elaine, those were a sight for sore eyes and sooo appreciated!!!

Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca seem to be enjoying their return to the USA. They did experience jet lag the first few days and seemed sooo tired. They quickly perked up, judging by the raves about the concerts. The one thing you can expect from “Our Guys” is that they give their all and love to sing and be around their adoring fans. I would say the only complaint addressed by the concert goers in general is the way the Meet and Greets are handled. As noted in Myron’s review; he was told by Barbara that Il Volo management does not handle these, but contracts them out. Hopefully in the future we can see some improvement there.

The San Diego concert was a hit of course, and Il Volo is off to Buffalo for their  concert tomorrow night!!

As we speak, Marie, her 2 sisters and Leelee are heading for Washington DC for a few days of sight seeing and meeting up with Michele ( you’ll know them, they’re the ones that will be singing “We Are Love” in front of the White House).  That happy little group will all attend the concert Friday night at Vienna, Virginia!  Have fun all, we’ll be anxious to hear of your experiences.

In Case You Missed It here are a few tweets and photo from “The Guys” in San Diego.

GG says “Almost ready for next show-San Diego tonight”

Lets not forget Piero’s Birthday coming up on the 24th!!  It’s a BIG one for him, he’ll be 21!!  Can you believe our Piero is 21?? All the “Guys” are growing up so fast!! Seems like yesterday…..  Hope you all were able to submit your Birthday greetings to Kelly for the “Happy Birthday” video. BirthdayBalloons2Clipart

Check your local listings for the Il Volo appearance on Sabado Gigante on June 14th. I have seen my local listings and it seems that channel is showing The World Cup games at that time. You will need to check the listings for your area.

Love and luck in Buffalo, Il Volo!!      ca2

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT………..

ReportHi Everyone!

They’re finally here!! Concerts have started and everyone is doing their own private happy dance. I can just feel the excitement coming through the site!! The Guys were seriously jet lagged, I felt sorry for them! Ignazio in particular was needing his bed, poor guy.

Last night’s concert was at the Gallo Theater in Modesto, CA. By all accounts it was a sell out. I know Elaine had a great time. I probably am leaving some of you out, but you know who you are, tell us of your experience at the concert, we’ll be eager to hear it.

In spring 2001, architectural planning began to create a new community treasure, a performing arts center that promised to be one of the most important downtown projects in Stanislaus County’s history. Then in the spring of 2004 construction of a premier civic complex began in the center of this leading agricultural region. The programs at the Gallo Center for the Arts reflect the interests, diversity and history of the people that call the Central Valley their home. It is a landmark in the region for decades to come. The Gallo Center for the Arts opened in the fall 2007.
The Gallo Center for the Arts is a state-of-the-art performing arts complex in downtown Modesto. The Gallo Center for the Arts is the focus of arts, entertainment, multicultural programming and social activities for the Central Valley for generations to come.

The Gallo Center for the Arts houses two performance venues, the 1250-seat Mary Stuart Rogers Theater and the 444-seat Foster Family Theater. Each is a proscenium theater with a legitimate stage and fly loft. Both theaters have orchestra pits, stage aprons, and scene docks, and are equipped with modern audio-visual, rigging, drapery, lighting control, orchestra pit lift, and orchestra shell systems, allowing a wide range of acoustical, scenic and staging manipulation. Ron Nestor, AIA and Steve Gaffney, AIA and their award-winning firm have earned recognition as one of California’s leading architects. Their extensive experience in the design of innovative projects crosses many lines including office buildings, interiors, retail centers, mixed-use developments, large-scale planning projects, historic restoration, and cultural facilities. Among their recognized works are Modesto’s Tenth Street Place, the Los Angeles Headquarters of MTA, Howard Hughes Center, Headquarters for Oakley Sunglasses and Etnies Shoes, and the Orange County Museum of Art.

Elaine says concert was wonderful AND she had a front seat. Later on we’ll ask her to recount her experiences and show a few of her pictures!!

Twitters and Tweets
Ignazio sent a tweet last night that he was ready to go to the theater.

Piero sent a tweet last night “Modesto you’ve been amazing audience tonight, love u, thank you!”

Gianluca tweeted last night before the concert that he was nervous, but excited.

Here are a few photos from last night, thanks to Mundial.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT……..

Report

Hi Everyone,

We know the big news this week and NO ONE MISSED IT!! They won, They won!!! Who is still excited and happy for our wonderful “Boys”? I think it will take a while to get those smiles off their faces and ours too. They worked so hard and sacrificed so much to get to this point!! The good news,it will get better and better!

After celebrating their win and a very short rest in Miami, Il Volo flew to Italy to perform on TLUC where they  were first put together and sang 5 years ago. “ Il Mondo ” has always been my favorite song, it’s the first song I heard them sing on “Takes Flight”. I must admit when I saw and heard them sing it on TLUC, I cried. The passion never leaves them and I am still struck by the love and respect they have for each other. That love and respect along with their glorious voices is what makes them what they are, “Our Angels”.acceptancelatinbillboard

Now at home again, the guys are enjoying their family and friends. The celebrations each family shared with us were heartwarming!! Eveybody is soo proud! The families made sacrifices too and must be over the moon with the Billboard Award!!

I don’t know if you all noticed, I did; Il Volo was paid more attention on the Red Carpet and during the show much more than last year. This proves they are getting famous!! They have such a wonderful future ahead of them!!

TWEETS:

Ignazio “No words to explain how afraid I am to lose this guy. In my family we are 4 but since January 2013 we are 5…thanks Gabbbrrriii!!” ( Ignazio referring to his friend Gabriel as his brother).            iggy and gabiii

According to our friends at Mundial, Il Volo is touring South America in September, though we have no confirmation from their management.

Remember to refer to post under this one, Whose Going Where, if you want to add your name to what concert you are attending.

Enjoy your time at home Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, you have have a busy schedule ahead of you!!  Love from all of us!
