It brings emotions to you and makes every person feel part of something bigger, like a symphony.
After announcing it a long time ago, and after a long wait, on September 12th the premiere of the film UN AMORE COSÌ GRANDE was held in Rome. The film will be in Italian cinemas from 20 September.
At the premiere were the producers director and actors. IL VOLO was represented by Michele Torpedine.

Once upon a time there were the musical films, the director De Mattheis signs with UNAMORE COSÌ GRANDE, a lyrical music film.
The story revolves around Vladimir, called Vlad, a young talent of opera singing, who at the death of his mother, a former soprano with whom he lived in St. Petersburg, came to Verona to look for his father, who had abandoned them when he was a child. To support himself, Vlad starts performing as a street singer. That’s how he meets the high-bourgeois Veronica with whom he is immediately struck by lightning.
In the meantime, by chance, the director of IL VOLO hears him singing and offers him a great opportunity. Life for Vladimir seems at a turning point, but many traumas and twists still await him …..
IL VOLO
Michele Calì is the producer of the film to explain how their involvement was born: “We started from the love story, but we needed a link to reach the public, especially the younger one.
It was natural to turn to Il Volo, which only in Italy has a huge following, the ‘volovers’ are more than 400 thousand. We have made them an integral part of the story, and they have become an added value to the film.
De Mattheis loved the possibility of telling the simplicity of a love story that recalled those of opera.
How was it to work with Il Volo? “We thought to transmit mainly what they are in life, here they represent the ‘mentors’ of the hero, simply being themselves.”
Federica Andreoli, the producer of the film, wrote these words:
“A big thank you goes to all the Volovers and Il Volo fans, for the help they are giving me in these weeks to promote UN AMORE COSÌ GRANDE … Thank you for what you are doing and for the love and interest you are showing for this movie. Here is an article from the premiere entitled UN AMORE COSÌ GRANDE, crowd at the Adriano (the cinema) IL VOLO and the debut on the big screen.

We learn from the production of UN AMORE COSÌ GRANDE and as disclosed by some media that the film will be screened in cinemas from next September this year and soon in the Mediaset channels. Notice to “sailors”, in particular those interested in IL VOLO. I saw the movie UN AMORE COSÌ GRANDE and doing a review is not my job. But I can tell you that it is a love story with a happy ending, like those of other times: without violence, without sex and without vulgarity, but with lots of music and breathtaking images of the beautiful Verona.
I’m here to talk about the participation of our guys and I do not do it at the request of production, for which this “sorti” will be a, I hope, pleasant surprise, nor to win the benevolence, which I presume that I do not need it, nor for gratitude for consideration in my regard. I do it for you. Do not be fooled by the clip of a few seconds that Federica Andreoli wanted to give us as an anticipation. Neither from the announcement of the site of Il Volo, aimed at minimizing their stage presence. Cameo? …. Not even for idea, it is not a cameo. According to the definition of the term. It is instead a scenic presence, remarkable and substantial. We see them and hear them sing in a dimension never seen, thanks to the huge screen, It seems to be able to touch them, other than front row seats in the concerts, other than screens at the sides of the stage! And in the same way we see them and hear them recite, absolute novelty, spontaneous, natural, credible. It seemed to me to identify in their parts a different vein, certainly established by the script. Piero always serious, Ignazio a bit ‘serious and somewhat’ playful , and Gian a bit ‘serious and a bit’ angry. If I think that the “hunger” that we have of them leads us to watch any broadcast even squalid and ridiculous that you talk about it or show us, then for intellectual honesty, I have to tell you: go and see this film which is for all just what it takes: a breath of oxygen! Saturday, August 25, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, were guests in Puglia, at the NOTTE DELLA TARANTA.
It is a popular Apulian festival where, during the evening, typical Apulian songs are played and popular dances are performed like the PIZZICA.
It is a party that has a lot of involvement by the public, there were 150,000 people dancing and singing in a festive atmosphere.
The guys of IL VOLO were guests in the backstage, but did not perform, They attended the popular festival and gave interviews, like this one, I translate for you.
P = We were really curious to see this event, and test the air, to be able, perhaps, to come next year, who knows.
G = Yes, absolutely beautiful to see this culture, which is not only famous in Italy, but all over the world. When you start dancing, this rhythm gets inside you, it’s nice, we’ll have fun tonight.
Journalist asks Ignazio = Do you already have any idea how you could adapt your voice to a Pizzica rhythm?
I = Actually no, but we can always work on it. It’s nice to see how this event is focused on folk songs and dances and how much tradition brings everyone into such a big event, so why not participate too? Next year or, in two years, we too might participate. It would be a great pleasure.

P = We must be sincere, NO. But we have always heard of the NOTTE DELLA TARANTA and this year, being free from engagements in these days, we decided to come and spend a couple of days in this magnificent land that lately is visited and loved by tourists from around the world. And it is a pleasure for us to be here.
As Ignazio said, on how to adapt our musical genre at this rate, we are a little unprepared, but our thinking is that the music has no barriers, and we never say, “This cannot be done.” But we say, “ Let’s try and then, let’s see what happens.”
Journalist = But will you come to this event, as a guest, or as a concert teacher?

As many as 32 students have reached matriculation at our Institute this year.
Among them, also Piero Barone, tenor of the trio of “Il Volo”, who showed his brilliant preparation, supported by a fine and lively intelligence, combined with a spontaneous and enviable simplicity.
Already a student of our Institute, Piero had to abandon his studies to devote himself to the preparation in the singing art that led him to deserved international successes, which did not upset his character honesty and sincerity of mind.
Both the students and the commissioners were happy, as well as proud, to have carried out the operations of the state exams together with the famous young tenor Narese (from Naro).
Congratulations Piero, we had no doubt . . . but to see you so happy and to read these beautiful words about you, makes us especially happy!
Piero can now relax happily at the sea and in his Naro . . . and indeed, here, at Naro, he met the beautiful American ladies who are doing the tour of Sicily.

C.De Mattheis (director): The story of the film is the story of Valdimir, a 25-year-old boy, a boy like many, is Italian but who has lived in Russia and arrives in Italy in search of his father.
Di Maggio (actor): In the film I play Vladimir, who is a boy who lived in St. Petersburg, with a mother who has always taken care of him, and who in the past was a great lyric singer. He has has lived with a great soprano and therefore, inevitably, there was this massive presence of music in Vladimir since he was born.
F.Andreoli M.Calì (producer): We can say that we were the first to give the first film CIAK to the guys from IL VOLO. They had never acted in a film. We are satisfied with how they worked, we were fine, they had a great time with us and we are happy with this.
Di Maggio (actor): As for the boys of IL VOLO, I had a great prejudice at the beginning, because they are international stars, and I thought they would behave like a star. In reality it was not like that, in the sense that they are very nice and very available guys, and they are busy doing this job. They interpret themselves, but their characters, give to these stars, these VIPs, a great humanity, in the end they are boys and this is evident in the film, and it is very nice.
C.De Mattheis (director): The choice to make this film is certainly due to the fact that in this film, for the first time in my career, I have the opportunity to talk about my great passion, the Opera.
Di Maggio (actor): I had great difficulty, at the beginning, above all, because I inevitably had to take singing lessons, and a very technical lyric song. We sang extremely difficult arias, and we had to concentrate on this and also Russian lessons, because the scenes acted in Russia are acted in Russian, with Russian actors.
I personally have a great desire to see this film and also to see how Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca work in the role of actors . . . and you?
