Film Press Conference Un Amore Cosi Grande ~ by Daniela

Back in September at the Venice Film Festival, there was a  press conference for the presentation of the film, UN AMORE COSI’ GRANDE, where our boys will be present as actors.  It will be a beautiful romantic film.

Here in Italy the film will be released in February on Valentine’s Day.    It was said that a first vision will be released by December, and only in Verona.

I sent a message to Federica Andreoli, the producer of the movie, Un Amore così Grande.

I told her that IL VOLO’s fans of Flight Crew  wanted to know if the film will be distributed to America as well.

Federica kindly answered me.   These are her words.

“Hi Daniela, we are now finishing the film editing and then going to the musical part! The film will also be released in other countries beyond Italy and I also hope in America … a hug and good Sunday.

The following is the Press Conference.  I will translate from the 10.05 minute…what the producer of the film says about the participation of Il Volo.

“What can I say, I’m the one who wanted strongly the boys of IL VOLO.

“The boys of IL VOLO, why? Because today are the most beloved, most followed Italian guys, in Italy and in the world.  They are the ambassadors of Italian music in the world, so it was the right choice  to have them in this movie, a film that must bring young people to the lyrical world.

Today they are not here with us, they send greetings because in a few days they will leave for a South American tour, the 7th will be in Mexico with the first concert, a tour that will see them busy for a couple of months.

Negotiation with them was not easy because they are always around the world, so finding them, talking to them by phone, it was not easy.   We put in 15 months and we did it.   They read the subject and fell in love with the screenplay.   I have to say a special thanks goes to their manager, Michele Torpedine,  because he helped me so much in this negotiation.

And then I chose them for another reason, because I’m a fan of theirs.   I had a dream, to make an event, a movie with these three guys and I succeeded.   I can say that the first ciak, the first “take” of the boys of IL VOLO, is in my movie.   As a producer and fan, I have  double satisfaction.”

Here is the video promo of the film.

Un Amore Cosi Grande

Daniela sent us this wonderful sneak preview of the movie the guys have been working on.

By now we all know that ILVOLO will take part in a movie entitled UN AMORE COSI GRANDE, which will be released in 2018.

This article was published a few weeks ago, that speaks of the plot of the film.

From the giornal THE ARENA

The protagonist is Vladimir, a young Russian who lives with expedients to keep himself and the mother who has been a great soprano.

His mother convinces him to go to Verona in search of his father.

In Verona Vladimir performs his singing talent and conquers young Veronica and attracts the attention of ILVOLO manager who is looking for a debutant to launch in the trio concerts.

Of course the story will be much woven, and will be shot in St. Petersburg.

The guys with Vladimir’s mother

Gianluca and the actress who interprets Veronica.

Vladimir e Veronica

Un Amore Cosi Grande, is a film that wants to relaunch the lyrics to bring young people closer to this world up to now unknown.

Tell precisely of the “grande amore” of the protagonist for the work but also for his mother and his girlfriend.

The music of the movie will be drawn from the operas as well as some songs IL VOLO.
On the set, between a slate and the other, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, gave some explanation about their role “Recite next to professionals, but in a role that favors us because we remain Il Volo, essentially doing what is better: singing”.

Behind the shots appear at ease. “The lights we are accustomed,” say in choir boys de Flight, those of the stage of the Arena then know them very well, in fact you have organized various concerts, the last last 19 and 20 May.

Thank you, Daniela!

Un Amore Cosi Grande ~ The Movie ~ Daniela

I asked Daniela for a translation of this video:

Her response:

It is not possible that you do not know the film into production where even our boys will be involved. A year ago we talked about this project and I must tell you that in the beginning it did not thrill me because it was a kind of film “The VITELLONI ” ( Italian post-war film ). I don’t like this film.

Now the project is becoming a reality and was presented at the Venice .
It is a love story where music is the thread and the interpreter will discover the value of attending music concerts where he performs IL VOLO .

Some scenes are already shot in the Arena during the show of 04 July, it also Jana in her story she says she saw shoot these scenes.  So it seems to me a very nice film, it was made with the support of the city of Verona and Arena .

I translate what they say in the promo that you sent me.

Speaks Michele Cali , producer of the film and says :

“The lyric is a very important thing, we have the Arena di Verona where, unfortunately, we know that every year there are fewer and fewer young people in the audience, then did this idea , I’ve talked to Flavio Tosi ,the president lyrical entity (and mayor of Verona),and Francesco Girondini (superintendent of the Arena foundation) that this idea really liked , then we involved IL VOLO and now we have to study how to be in the film and we hope that this film can become a value added and introduce young people to the world of opera“.

Keep talking Giuseppe Ferlito, director of the film, and says:

” The main interpreter starts from St. Petersburg in search of his father and of its origins and finds the love of a girl who supports him in all his dreams and when they will only find only solace in music, because music is what language that only the soul can hear “

I hope I’ve been useful, a hug.

We know from past experience that Il Volo has always been very well received everywhere they go in Mexico and South America, and that they seem to pick up a little bit of a different energy themselves.  This year has not been any exception.  Based on tweets and shared pictures, they have been excited about going to Mexico from the jump.  They were greeted warmly at the airport before heading to their hotel in Juarez where they did a lot of relaxing, and it seems like they’ve been mixing it up informally with the fans as well.

But there has been a lot of working too, of course, giving the interview from which the above clip was taken and this press conference included:

TRANSLATION (by Athina Angelopoulos): The time has come. The 10th edition of the International Chihuahua Festival begins tomorrow night with the presentation of the group Il Volo, for the first time in Juarez.

The trio of the Italian singers is in Ciudad Juárez, and with a relaxed and informal attitude, they posed for pictures, sang and flirted in perfect Spanish.

During a press conference that lasted about 17 minutes, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble declared that they had been sleeping since they arrived in the city on Wednesday night and all they know of Ciudad Juarez so far, is the way from El Paso airport to the hotel where they are staying.

The trio expressed their excitement to return to Aztec lands after a year when they performed at the National Auditorium in Mexico City in front of 10 thousand people.

When asked the name of a favorite Mexican song, without hesitation, Ignazio Boschetto started singing ‘Bésame Mucho’ (by Consuelito Velázquez).

“Mexico has been a great country for us, every time we come back is a pleasure and now is an honor for us to sing in the Festival of Chihuahua, here in Juarez.”

Ignazio Takes a Phone Call…???? *hmmmm*; Il Volo Juarez Press Conference; Nomada, Juarez Television Facebook

😀     No, it wasn’t a personal phone call.  It seems like the phone belonged to a member of the press, and I’m told by Athina that Piero actually answered the phone, but Ignazio is the one that spoke to the caller.  Lucky caller!

Il Volo Show On TV?

It might be.  In an article found on an Italian TV blog, , it appears that Il Volo has become the muse for a fictional television series that is in the works.

The article can be found here —> , and the paragraph for consideration is copied and translated by Bing below:

Nuova Fiction Mediaset: secondo Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni la Ciao Ragazzi di Claudia Mori sarebbe già al lavoro per realizzare una fiction dedicata a Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone e Ignazio Boschetto, i tre tenorini che dopo aver partecipato a Ti lascio una canzone hanno creato il gruppo Il volo, ottenendo successo in tutto il mondo.

Hmmm….we might have to keep an eye out to see what happens with this…  😉  Thanks to All About Il Volo for the heads up.  🙂
Moscow Welcomes Il Volo
Il Volo took their first trip to Russia this week to be guest stars of a show with the great, Toto Cutugno.  By all accounts that I have read, Mr. Cutugno is well-loved and respected throughout the country, selling out shows even now at the age of 70.  I’d imagine being a part of one of his shows has given our guys even more exposure; how exciting for them!
Joining them as quest stars was Ms. Ceclia Cesario, also from Italy.  To learn more about her, you can visit her website,
It appears that this concert was highly anticipated in Moscow, going so far as to hold an open rehearsal for the press only before the show, which is mentioned in an article
There was also a TV interview conducted and aired on Russian TV, which can be seen
Il Volo and Toto

As usual in the Il Volo fandom, there are pictures galore among the many fan sites.  Is anyone surprised by that?  We know IlVolovers rock!  Please check them out and comment below to let us know some of your favorites.  🙂

There are also a smattering of videos available as well, the best of which have links provided here.  I hope that they let you feel as if you were a part of it.  Please enjoy and thank those groups and individuals that took time to share them with us!
