Crew, I do not know which way to start telling my day.
I just came back from Milan, where there was the instore for the presentation of the new CD, MUSICA.
My feet are broken, and I’m very tired, but I want to fix immediately, the emotions that have marked the day.
I had already decided to go to Milan on Friday, but on Thursday, I received a letter from the official fan club, which warned me that I had been drawn, to take part in the mini-live that would take place a couple of hours before the instore.

After a couple of hours they call us for the mini-live. After going through the check of documents, here we are all lined up in the corridor, waiting.
We will spend more than an hour in the corridor, with an incredible heat, because it was a beautiful spring day.
Meanwhile, we fans talk, and who should I see but Veronica. She bought tickets for Jana, for the Verona Arena.

The director of Radio Subasio comes and begins to present the event.
He says that during the week in Sanremo he was able to know Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca well and he says they are really special people (we already knew that) and he says that Radio Subasio will always play the music of IL VOLO.

RS = In this CD there is music present and also of the past.
G = Yes, it is a slightly different album from the others we did in the past, because however there are more contemporary sounds, the choice of songs, also, but without abandoning the classic, such as “Be My Love” sung by Mario Lanza, but also by all the greatest tenors.
This represents a new beginning, a new path, which will lead us to have “a new face”, we sing with what are our true voices, our musical styles, which are different. It represents us 100%.
RS = Are you a little more pop, compared to the past, is it true Piero?
P= We have undertaken this collaboration with Michele Canova, we are fans of Mengoni, Tiziano Ferro, Jovanotti, and Canova has produced all the albums of these great artists and we have decided to collaborate with him and I must tell you that we are very satisfied and surprised of the work he did.
RS = Well, Ignazio, in the meantime, congratulations.
Congratulations because of you, this week, there was the image of you give a caress on the cheek to Mahmood (applause).

RS = So, you won the festival 4 years ago, in 2015, this year you came back, because you had to celebrate 10 years of IL VOLO activity, and you showed that, despite having won a Sanremo, and after having participated as super-guests, you are back in the race.
G = Because you do not have to live Sanremo only with the spirit of competition, certainly it was a courageous choice, but from guests to competitors, should not be understood as a step back, it was our choice, we did it for you fans, that you’ve been waiting for us for a long time. (applause)

Only a 10 year old girl, name’s Chiara, close to me, asks to speak.
Chiara tells the boys, that they are very beautiful and that she feels Gianluca as a brother!!

The boys are very relaxed, Gianluca is the most elegant, with light trousers and gray jacket, Piero has a grey turtleneck sweater and black trousers but wearing fluorescent yellow sneakers, very showy, and at some point asks the fans if his shoes are beautiful.
Ignazio wears a flannel trousers and a simple mustard-colored sweater, he looks a lot thinner in person and all three are really young, young men.

A boy takes courage and says that he follows IL VOLO since they won Sanremo and he likes them a lot.
A woman says they are very good and would like their greetings, for her 86-year-old mother.
Another boy says that thanks to IL VOLO he has established many true friendships.

In the fourth evening, that of the duets, you did a wonderful duet with Alessandro Quarta, do you think that, in any of your concerts, we will see the participation of Alessandro Quarta?
G = We cannot say anything but there is the idea.

I must say that I was not at all troubled to talk on the microphone and in front of everyone, in fact, I felt in the family.
I took the opportunity to talk about the American concerts, because then during the signature-copies, they stop for a few minutes.
After the series of questions, ended with my speech, they asked to pose for the final group photo and then we had to get out and queue for signature-copies.

There were fans waiting to sign-copies, so we had to get off.
In a short time it became dark.
We who were at mini-live had precedence, so we all started waiting for our turn.
We were on the second floor, for the mini-live, about two hours of which one of waiting and one of mini-live.
I arrived in Milan by train, accompanied by my husband, but he was not admitted to the mini-live, so he had to wait outside …. what a treasure! When I got out, he said the voices were heard downstairs, so he figured out that I was talking at the microphone.

I was able to make a few words with the boys to whom I brought your greetings, they signed the CD and also the book UN’AVVENTURA STRORDINARIA that I had brought with me.
I gave two kisses to each of them.
A few moments and it was all over.
Outside the library, there were Torpedine and Barbara Vitali sitting outside a bar talking to a couple of friends. I wanted to stop and talk to them, but I did not want to be inappropriate.
And so we headed to the train station, about 3 km to do on foot, as we had already done on arrival, under a hot sun.
We arrived at the station, everywhere there were great videos that projected the event of IL VOLO.
Finally on the return train, I was able to rethink that frantic afternoon.
It was worth it.
I was finally holding my new CD and I was so close to the boys.
They are really simple and genuine.
I hope this CD will lead to their sales success, which is really deserved.
JUST FYI!! I just tried to order tickets (Feb 16 at 12p) and either the site is jammed, or blocked, not sure what, but I can’t get past the “go to shipping” info area. 🙁 My dear friend Veronica said she would try to order me some from there. Hope there are still tickets left when she gets home!

Here, the first dates of the Italian tour have been announced.
Go to ticketone.it to find tickets. Verona venue is offering a gold package with a pre-event, but no guys for 250 euros. However the first 2 rows are already sold out. It is orch pit area. Best regular tx there after that start about 90 euros but when I checked a bit ago, they were already on the 3rd row there also. If you are a member of the fan club you should have gotten an email, however I missed mine! 🙁 Came in at 4am sometime! Pat forwarded it to me. It references going to fan club page for presale code, which has technically already expired, but maybe can get better seats still? I just looked at site though, and did not see any reference code? Some good news was needed, given the latest news that had made us so angry, and things, here in Italy, are not yet settled.
On the contrary, every day we discover many wrong behaviors, ungenerous and unjust actions that our guys have suffered for years from the press.
Things do not end here ….. there will still be a lot to say.
Sanremo has passed. It was really hard. The boys expected very busy days of work and emotions.
Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca were, to say the least, fabulous, magnificent performers of a beautiful song.
The first night, they are greeted with a very long applause that has confirmed the affection of the public.
On the evening of the duets, together with the violinist Alessandro Quarta, they performed a magnificent performance and received a standing ovation. They deserved first prize!
Let’s review the performance together.
Sanremo is over and third place went to them. Honestly, as things were going, I did not even believe that they would be placed within the first three positions, but, as usual, let’s recap everything.
It is now known to all that Italian journalists have never had a good relationship with IL VOLO, but this year they have really exceeded the limit of rudeness.
Already the Sunday before the beginning of Sanremo, the newspaper ROLLING STONE ITALIA had published an article to say the least honorable comments on our boys, so that in the evening, Torpedine had made a hard post against the newspaper, from his Facebook page.
Sanremo started and there were evening performances and continuous interviews during the day.
For those fortunate enough to be able to follow Italian TV, he will have noticed that the boys have always been polite, humble and sincere, always with a smile even if they sometimes listened to comments and unjust vows on them.
Therefore, during the final evening, in scrolling through the final classification and getting to the fourth place and seeing that IL VOLO had not been called, I was very happy. I ran to vote again, final verdict, third place. Damn, I’m glad they are within the first three, but they could also be second, because I’ve always known that ULTIMO was the super favorite and is also followed by countless very young fans.
But now, after being aware of certain videos and above all of the votes of each evening, I felt a great rage.
IL VOLO COULD BE FIRST TOO.
But the thing that made me more angry are videos taken in the press room, where we see journalists ridicule our boys, when Piero begins to sing and a journalist shouts “in jail” and then to the final proclamation journalists rejoice because IL VOLO is only third, and a woman’s voice says a dirty word addressed to the boys, whom I do not want to repeat.
These are really scenes of infinite baseness. I am deeply ashamed of these people.

Today this video, is going around the web, thanks to Francesco Facchinetti (TV-radio host) who retweeted it by adding these textual words to journalists:
“I would kick you in the ass, until the end of the world, idiots, assholes and fools.”
Everyone is outraged, and all the newspapers and TV are talking about it.
The boys of IL VOLO, have always been very kind and polite to everyone and do not deserve a similar treatment.
Saturday afternoon, just before the last night in Sanremo, the boys were guests on a television program and there was a debate between our boys and a woman journalist who was always very critical with them.
The presenter asked Gianluca if he was affected by the negative criticism and Gianluca said no, because the more journalists criticize them and the more people support them.
Then the presenter, addressed to the audience in the hall, said: “Whoever agrees with Gianluca gets up.” and all the people got up.
The journalist was offended and wanted to leave, Ignazio intervened, trying to calm her down and reassure her, while Piero said: “It’s a week that you tell us that our music is old, but we like it.”
But let’s talk about the votes.
I am attaching the table of overall votes, before the final evening, as you can see, IL VOLOwas in first place.
In the last last vote, Ultimo overcomes them, thanks to the televoting, but also to the juries, the same juries that allow Mahmood to win, because both juries all vote for Mahmood, which instead had not taken so many votes from home.
So now there is a big storm, because those who voted from home paying, has seen the result overturned by a jury of 8 people.
A newspaper wrote: “If there is someone who has to complain about the vote of the Press Room and the Jury of Honor, it is IL VOLO”.
And in all this, our boys how did they behave?
Exceptional as always.
After suffering all the bad comments, they were on the podium and immediately congratulated the winner, a sincere hug, to Mahmood, still incredulous to be the winner, Ignazio even seems to help him out of the shock. Ignatius, you are a sweet teddy bear.
There is no malice in them, only affection for everyone.
Of course the bitterness is so much, then watching those horrible videos, the anger rises, and I wonder how the families of our boys reacted? One of them commented, but I believe on behalf of everyone, of course Ercole Ginoble.
“Sanremo has always been a stage where there is no lack of controversy, it is not the first time that we are facing them but it is also a stage that leaves room for the judgment of the people who listen and choose the music in which they recognize each other!

We needed a few days to be lucid and to tell our story about what happened.
Some journalists (and it is good to say only a few) have heavily insulted us. They used words like “shit”, “fuck”, “in jail”, which we consider as the result of a real form of bullying, of teasing from the stadium. These people have not brought glory to the order they represent, their attitude has been an insult, before us, to all fellow journalists who do their work in a serious and professional manner.
In 10 years we have received a lot of criticism about our music, about the genre we sing, we have been accused of being arrogant and snooty.
We have never given importance to all this, also because, fortunately, we have supporters who support us daily and love what we do. But when we see videos that testify to the wickedness and lack of humanity on the part of people who could be our parents (many of whom are also our grandparents), it annoys us a lot. Bother because every artist must have his own space for musical expression. To be called “shit” or to see someone shouting “in jail” just because we are doing what we like to do in life is very disrespectful to us, but above all to freedom of expression.
Music should be freedom, not a reason for insult!

That the trio of IL VOLO was famous all over the world is now well known. Despite the very young age the “tre tenorini”, a nickname with which they are known, can boast a respectable career that has led them to duet with singers of the caliber of Barbra Streisand and Placido Domingo and to perform in every corner of the globe.
After the victory at the Sanremo Festival, which took place in 2015, the vocal trio has landed at the Eurovision Song Contest where the song “Grande Amore” has managed to climb on the third step of the podium, but is in fact the most voted by the vast public from home, made up of over 200 million viewers.

I just watched the third performance of IL VOLO in duet with Alessandro Quarta, they were simply fantastic.
They got a long applause and a standing ovation.
The boys were visibly excited.
Very good Alessandro Quarta, I did not expect such a performance.

They knew it would be tough and they took this race, thinking only about promoting their new CD.
We want to support the boys. We all make a comment under the video of the first night of Sanremo, even just a heart, but we declare our city, so that everyone sees that they are really supported by every part of the world.

What to say, the song IL VOLOis very beautiful, but the audio of the TV show was bad, then it was fixed, but the boys had already sung.
But let’s look at the video of the evening together.
The more I listen to it, the more I like it, it’s beautiful.
The lyrics are very beautiful, the music has a less classic touch of “Grande Amore”, and a little more rock. The voices of the boys always very beautiful.
