Tanti Auguri! to the Il Volo Flight Crew ~ Share the Love…Aug 8, 2013

What?  Has it been 4 years already?  Seems like only yesterday, well maybe last week to many of you.  (ok, just pretend the picture says “4th” anniversary – I’m too tired to try and change it!) I did not find anniversary post 3this site til about a year later, about June 2014.  I have to say though, sometimes it feels like it’s been a lifetime already.  How much the boys have done, grown, and accomplished in these last 4 years!

A little birdie swooped down about 6:30p last night to “remind” us it was the site’s 4-year anniversary.  But before I could catch her, she swiftly few away as quickly as she made her fluttery appearance.  So…. I thought I’d repost the “first” post, but somewhere the original Aug 8, 2013 post had disappeared?  So, I went with the first one that is dated August 10, 2013 – 100 Comments in 2 days!  Wow, those were the days!?  It was written by Kelly and had 14 comments.

100 Comments!!!!!!!!

Wow we work fast! 100 comments in only 2 days!

I think The Boys approve! 😉

It’s looks like everyone here is having fun. I hope anyone that hasn’t made it over yet,  will find their way. We miss you guys! *hugs*

Happy commenting!

Kelly

I know Kelly and a few others are still around, that is pretty awesome!  So, in honor of all of you who started with this crew and all of the new people that have joined us in the last few weeks even – a GRANDE GRAZIE MILLE!  We couldn’t have done it without you!

Today, this is going to be YOUR post – made up of all of your comments.  I will post it on Wednesday.  I’d like you to answer 3 short questions:

  1. Do you remember how you found this site?  How did you feel?
  2. What kept you coming back?
  3. What are some of your favorite posts or memories from this site?

I will give you my answers:

  1. After I had seen my first concert at Freedom Hill in June 2014, I just started scouring the Internet and somehow this site popped up.  I felt I was finally at home, surrounded by hundreds of crazy people, just like me!
  2. I loved all the stories and each and every tidbit I could get from the site about the boys, personal details, pictures, concerts, meet/greets, and when they were coming back.  I also loved reading all of the comments and the fun sparring back and forth of the fighting over the guys from all the “grandmothers!”  🙂
  3. Of course I have to say I love the things I wrote – lol!  And of course all of the meet/greet reviews, concert reviews, heartfelt stories from Mary and Jane, and can’t forget Marie’s poetry – I love “Night before Christmas….”

Ok, here’s the challenge, we want to hear from you!!  Let’s go for a goal of at least 50 comments.  Pretend it’s one of those Il Volo polls and you can vote as many times as you want!  Please feel free to comment, even if you never did before!  And even if you have commented a 100 times before, like Loretta, Penina, Pirate, Rose Marie, Rosemary, Cynthia, Victoria, Gina, Jane, Kelly, Marie, Ann, Pat, Daniela, Dani, Lydka, Joanie, Madeline, Lynn, Mary, and these are just right off the top of my head, I know there are many more out there!!  It says we have over 270 followers….

On your mark, get set, Il Volo!!!

Ciao – Jana

Important Site News…

Dear Flight Crew –

det 6You may have noticed an obvious absence of Marie lately….although she would like for you to believe she has been hiding in a town in somewhat central Italy ….she is alive and well!

Marie has decided to take some time off and transition to a less demanding role in supporting the Flight Crew site.  During this time, I will be accepting her responsibilities on this site, along with Jane, who will be taking on a more active role.  Kelly will still maintain her current role on the site, doing Off Stage, etc.

We know this site is important to many people and new people, like the Wilsons, and others, are still finding us.  I could not let this site falter.  The guys finally really know who we are and members are meeting each other from all over the world with an instant bond of friendship and shared love of the guys.

This site did that – you did that!

I’ve also recruited a few new authors.  Pat Ward, whom I met in Chicago (a.k.a. Pitter Pat on the site) and Lorna Ste. Marie, who you may remember as being my travel buddy in Italy.  You may notice a few changes here and there, but the basic ideas and values of this site will not change.  We always welcome your thoughts and ideas if there is something you’d like to see, or write, please feel free to submit it.  We’d also like you to start using the new gmail account – FlightCrew.NotteMagica2017@gmail.com to send us any email, etc. for ideas for any posts, or personal review submissions.  For any technical issues please continue to email the “Outlook” account email.

Please remember there are just a few of us and it may be a few days before we are able to respond to your email.

Thank you for your continued support.

This site would not be what it is, without you!

Sincerely, your Flight Crew team:

Jana, Marie, Jane, Pat, Lorna, Kelly, Dani, Daniela, Jeannette, Myron, Mary Bohlings, Ann Cruise, Gina Hanna, Lisa Joy, as well as all of our “behind-the-scenes” ladies!

Just a few other notes I’d like to mention, a few things we get questions on from time to time:

  1. For the newer members of the crew, were you aware of the little “check box” underneath the comments box?  If you check that box “before” you click on the post button, you will get everyone’s comments from that post, directly to your email!  This is great, if maybe you asked a question and were waiting and wondering if someone was going to reply.  This way, you don’t have to keep checking back at the site, to see if someone answered your question or not?  🙂
  2. About once a year, all of a sudden, you may realize you are not getting the flight crew emails to your email anymore.  If this happens – do not be too alarmed.  It appears you need to go in and re-signup to get emails from the site.  Must be some kind of blog rule, as the same thing happens to me on the AAIV site, as well.  🙂
  3. Since many of you do get our emails right to your inbox, I’m sure many, as myself, just read them in our emails.  If you could actually just click onto the blue, bolded text, it will take you to the site.  Yes, you may have already read the post, but actually going to the site will up our numbers and give us a more accurate reading of how many people are actually reading our site!  🙂  We might actually have over 2 million hits and not just over a million!
  4. If you are fairly new and have signed up recently, or are thinking of signing up, I believe there is a confirmation email that comes to your email, so you get our postings.  Please be sure to click on that confirmation.  If you do not get one of these after signing up, please check your spam or junk mail, as it may have gone into there.

Again, thank you  – and I look forward to continuing this site until it is time, once again, to hand over the reins…

Ciao!

Jana

Notte Magica – more to come! (and a few other things…)

Ciao a Tutti!

Although short, this tour seems to be a very memorable one for most of us, for many reasons.  We asked you to send in your reviews and quotes, and pictures, and you did!!  I must apologize, though, on behalf of the staff here, that we weren’t able to publish everything as quickly as we wanted to.  So, this post is to let you know that we will, indeed, publish your personal reviews as soon as we can Of course, the Euro tour is starting soon and we will be getting that out to you as well!  Even though we all attended the same concerts and they sang the same songs (more or less), we all come back with a different spin on it.  Each concert is unique and personal to each one of us and we want you to know we value everyone’s input here.  🙂

If anyone still wants to send in a review of the US concert tours, please feel free to do so, along with any other pictures you may have.  Again, the email is:  FlightCrew.NotteMagica2017@gmail.com.  (all lower case is fine)

We know there are many that will be going to Italy and perhaps other countries from the US or other parts of the world – we’d love to hear from you also!  Please send your comments to the same email address.  🙂

And, segueing in (is that a word? lol), speaking of the European Tour – did you see the latest?  There is a contest to enter to win a pair (2) meet/greet tickets and merch pkg.  All you have to do is sing your favorite Il Volo song – I kind of feel sorry for the guys if they have to pick it!  Lol!  Here is the website:  http://www.pepmerch.com/ilvolofactor/   I just checked it and it works.  A real bummer for the US tour though.  Looks like it is sponsored by OMG and this Pep Merch company.  However, those of you going from the US to Italy – you have a chance!  So, warm up those vocal cords and get singing!!  Lorna, Ginny, and I will be happy to coach you and join you if you need a few back-up singers!  Lol!

meet greet contest

And one last note…. someone has (2) tickets to sell for the June 1 Taormina concert.  Unfortunately, this person had a little surgery and is now unable to use the tickets, as she won’t be recovered in time to go on the long flight.  Picture of tickets are below.  She resides in Louisiana.  She paid over $200 each for them, although face value is 100 euros. Although it may be difficult to see, they are Row H, Seats 11/13This is a sold-out concert.  If you are interested, please send an email (subject line: Taormina Tickets) to the FlightCrew.NotteMagica2017@gmail.com address and we will put you in touch.  Picture below:

P.S. Did you know you can buy removable picture decals of Italy (and other places) from Amazon to put on your walls?  They vary in price from about $10 – $100+ (depending on size…)  They are gorgeous, just to let you know…the normal regular cities, like Rome, Venice, many Tuscany pictures, but even San Gimignano and Monte Riggio!  They must have been on our Siena tour!  There is even one of the Abruzzi mountains!

Ok, a presto!  🙂

“Love From The Flight Crew” ~~ 2017 Notte Magica Tour

Hi, Flight Crew!

As promised, here are the details re: our gift to The Guys.  Marie placed the orders for the Edible Arrangement (Stars and Stripes Celebration and some Salted Carmel Apple Wedges — which sound absolutely heavenly) and the Sapphire Skies floral bouquet today, and both companies assured her that their arrangement would make it backstage.

(on a Flight Crew badge) "Have fun out there. The Flight Crew"

Because of your generosity, the cost of these arrangements and deliveries only cost half of the amount that we had available to use.    The rest of the money is safely tucked away for another use.  <3

Thanks, Marie, for taking care of this!

The Flight Crew wants YOUR Input!

nottemagica-headerAs the guys start off their Notte Magica Tour in the United States, we are going to follow them in a new direction! We want your input – front and center! Any and all Flight Crew Members are invited to send us your personal insights, quotes about the concert, and any personal photos/videos from the concerts that you’d like to share. We’d like to make our concert posts extra special – from you and for you!

Leelee and I will be posting about the concerts and we have created a special GMAIL account for you to send us your stuff. It is: FlightCrew.NotteMagica2017@gmail.com .   (please be sure to note the “dot” between Crew and Notte) Here’s what we’d like you to do, send us a short quote, favorite moment, and a picture of the theatre/marquee with their name on it, if possible, etc. from the concert you attend as soon as possible after the show, or after the meet/greet, if you were lucky enough to attend. We will use as many as we can, but please do not be saddened if we do not choose yours – you can still write your impressions of the show in the comments section! For the quotes, we will use just your first name and state you are from, so please be sure to include that in your email. When sending your email, please include in the subject line: Venue/City/Date. If you have any further questions or concerns, please send to email above.

Ok Pennsylvania!! You are in the hot seat now for tonight!! As everyone knows, the first concert is always the most special and we want to know all about it. It has all the surprises; everyone is counting on you to tell us all the details! Will they tease us with some of their new songs?

Of course, we all wish we could be there with you tonight. For the lucky ones at the meet/greet, be sure to tell the guys we are waiting for them in every city!

Hope you have a great day getting ready, and relaxing, and doing your hair, and nails, and having a nice dinner, and trying on your special outfit/s once or twice, or three times – all the things that lead up to the anticipation! Is this your first concert? We want to know that, too! OMG! I get so emotional, I’m tearing up with joy and anticipation for you right now as I’m writing this, and I’m not even going for 2 weeks!

Have the best time of your lives tonight and stay safe when you get there, take a moment, look around you, take a deep breath, close your eyes, open them. Do this once or twice blue-nightduring the concert. Try to imagine, or remember, the night in Florence. It was a warm night, with a soft breeze, and the late afternoon sky; tinged orange and pink by the sun, turned into the beautiful deep blue of the night…

Also, see the “news on the new CD below” and

the reminder about them on the Today Show – NBC!
