And here I am with an update on the various events Il Volo participated in.
Let’s start with September 10th, when Fiorella Mannoia’s concert, held on June 3rd at the Baths of Caracalla, was broadcast on RAI1. I’ve already told you about this concert and attached the videos filmed at that moment, but now that it’s been broadcast on TV, I’m reposting the video of Fiorella and Il Volo’s moment.
On September 12th and 13th, the TIM MUSIC AWARDS took place live from the Verona Arena, where various awards are presented to outstanding singers.
On the evening of September 12th, Il Volo was also present, performing Cohen’s beautiful “Hallelujah” and then accepting the award for their “LIVE” worldwide tours. The event was broadcast live on RAI1.
The event was hosted by Carlo Conti and Vanessa Incontrada, and I’ll translate their words for you.

What can I say? I don’t know if any of you had the chance to see the entire event, but 38 singers performed, receiving various awards, many rappers beloved by young people, often “over-the-top” figures heavily tattooed and sometimes scantily clad, and women performing in lingerie. In short, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca always bring a touch of elegance and refinement in addition to their talent. With their song, they highlighted something precious: PEACE, and their voices rose majestically above a sea of “summer hits” that often disappear.
Once again, Il Volo stood out and was appreciated!
On September 13th, the 19th edition of GRACE FOR THE WORLD, conceived by Andrea Bocelli and Pharrell Williams, took place in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. The event was broadcast live on RETE4.
Among the various artists, Il Volo was also present (in addition to Bocelli, the only Italians).
It was a spectacular evening with St. Peter’s Square as a magnificent backdrop and a series of drones in the sky creating beautiful patterns.
During the evening, beautiful words of brotherhood and peace, testimonials and artists from all over the world, a magnificent choir and orchestra, and a truly unique atmosphere.
Piero Ignazio and Gianluca performed towards the end of the event with a splendid MAGNIFICAT, which we had already heard at the Jubilee of Youth, a truly solemn moment!
I also wanted to point out that before all the events I’ve just listed, Il Volo had two private events, one apparently in Greece and one in Milan.
We learned about the second one through a publication by the Franciacorta Orchestra, which follows Il Volo. They published this post, of which I’m translating a portion.

The update is over for now. It’s been a very intense few days of television, where we saw Ignazio, Piero, and Gianluca in top form. Now they’re back at the end of September for the memorial in honor of Pavarotti.

As I had already announced, the TIM MUSIC AWARDS took place live on September 13th in the Verona Arena.
The date of the event was given only recently and Il Volo was invited to collect a prize, but as it was the possible days of Ignazio’s wedding, it was thought that Il Volo would give up, and instead, despite the 12th being the wedding day civil of Ignazio and Michelle, Il Volo participated, even opened the event in the Arena, which was then broadcast on RAI 1.

And here they are, splendid and always excellent, they opened the television program which began directly with them on stage, they performed a medley composed of short moments of CAPOLAVORO, FRAMMENTI DELL’UNIVERSO and WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER, sensational!!!
The only ones who performed with a real orchestra behind them.
Dressed in a casual-elegant way, Piero, Gianluca and the new groom Ignazio gave a great performance.
At the end of the performance they were joined by the two presenters, Carlo Conti and Vanessa Incontrada who, after the usual greetings and questions, congratulated our young men.
Ignazio admits that it is the first event he has attended as a married man.
Ultimately they send a message of encouragement to young people to always pursue their dreams.
These days right after Ignazio’s wedding party, the weather in Italy was really bad, a lot of rain came for several days and there were also floods.
One of the first days of this weather instability brought a discharge of lightning to Abruzzo and one of these struck the bell tower of Montepagano, 😩 Gianluca’s town, causing damage, and this is why Gianluca made an appeal to the authorities responsible for the restoration work to begin soon.😍

The tour “Tutti per Uno – Capolavoro tour” (produced by Friends & Partners), celebrates 15 years of the group’s career and friendship.

Lots of people and looking at the photos, I can also confirm many people from a younger target and also many men.
I exchanged opinions with our friend Keisyuu who was the concert. She was in the very back seats and confirmed to me that she was among many people who were not experts in Il Volo, and that perhaps they were at their first concert and these people were very enthusiastic. 🤩🤩

Baths of Caracalla sold out for Il Volo. On Saturday 8 June, Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio left Rome with the summer tour “Tutti per uno – Capolavoro”, which will continue until September, with 19 other appointments, in the most evocative venues of our country. In Piazza San Marco in Venice, on 4 July, at the Amphitheater of the Pompeii Excavations, on 17 July and 9 September at the Royal Palace of Caserta, just to name a few. A roar from the audience welcomes them when at 9.15pm, after the entrance of the orchestra, the trio goes on stage and opens the concert with the song “Nelle tue mani (Now we are free)”, followed by “Capolavoro”, a song taken into competition at the last Sanremo Festival, certified Gold. The audience screams and applauds a lot, many foreign tourists in the front rows. The setlist also includes unreleased songs from their latest album, “Ad Astra”, released at the end of March. Over two hours of live music, a musical celebration for fifteen years of career and friendship, which the trio closes with the encores “Nessun dorma” and “Ad Astra”.
Long ovation. Il Volo will return to Rome on 21 January 2025, at the Palazzo dello Sport dell’Eur.

My goodness, what a performance!!!! Chills on the skin.
Let me start by saying that I was a QUEEN fan and here with IL VOLO, they were worthily represented. A very difficult song that requires an uncommon vocality.
But have you noticed how Gianluca modulates his voice??? Fantastic!
And Piero blended perfectly into this harmony, his voice was very recognizable.
What about Ignazio, the high notes are his forte and once again he proved it to everyone.
Stef Burns did his part, including some great rock guitar playing. 🎸
In the end a perfect fusion of sound singing harmony.
This performance absolutely deserved first place, especially considering the other performances.
But here is the ranking of the top 5!

I have nothing against the Neapolitan song, but the Sanremo regulation has always prohibited singing in regional dialects, this year the regulation was modified to allow the Neapolitan song to participate. I knew he would have great support from the people, but here the support of journalists and radio stations was also needed, otherwise it is not possible that he could have reached this point.
I agree on second place, Angelina Mango (a young and good emerging singer) and also on third place with Annalisa (remember her duet with Gianluca), and also on fifth place, but I also absolutely disagree on fourth place, a ‘really unworthy’ performance!!
There were many boos when the first position was announced, also because it is not just a ranking, there is a winner who gets a trophy, the trophy for the best performance of the duets’ evening.
The winner sang again and was then rewarded, but there were many boos and people left the theater.
But this is not the point, the public’s disappointment is due but it’s time for the press room to stop voting and in any case the radio jury (placed this year) is another negative component.
This Festival is a great farce., I am truly dismayed.

It goes without saying that there is a lot of bitterness in the mouth, these prejudices from the press room will never end and the radios will never play their songs, nothing has changed.
For us they are the winners and anyone with good taste and ears to hear cannot say otherwise.
And tonight we start again, it’s the final evening. Of course, at this point, I don’t think Il Volo can rank in the top 5.
But they need all our support.
The evening will open with listening to the 30 competing songs. Il Volo competes with the number 5, so it is the fifth this evening, it will be around 10:00 in the evening (Italian time) in the end only the home jury will vote, therefore the televoting and therefore we must let Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca hear that there has always been their appreciation from home. It won’t help them climb the rankings, but it will help their pride, because they know they did an excellent job.
Then the general ranking of the 4 evenings will be drawn up and only the top 5 will continue the race.
