Anticipation ~ Marie

WELCOME TO YOUR OTHER HOME IL VOLO!

We’ve missed you so much!

111

And soon….

They’re here and I’m here.

Can it be that I saw them just last July? It seems like years!

Now, standing outside the theater just before the concert and later the meet & greet, my breathing is shallow. This is the moment I know I possess a strong heart. Forget the treadmill…It’s this – pre-concert – standing in line – palms sweating – anticipation making my head spin – exercise that really gets the heart pumping.

I’m about to spend a quick two hours with “Them”, standing right there.. LIVE and IN FRONT OF ME… singing and dancing and fooling around. Oh, it’s all going to be so good!

After the concert at the meet & greet I will touch them to assure myself, once again, that they are real. Three hugs, six quick cheek kisses and my memories will sustain me for months (Maybe just weeks or at least through the next day) until I begin to pine for them again.

Is there a chance one of them will remember me? I have spoken to them many times now. I mean, they’ve only met a hundred thousand or so people since we last met. So, why not?

Oh, the theater doors are opening! Finally, finally time to go in.

To be continued….

…by you!

Re-Post “Il Volo is Coming to Town” ~ Anon. Crew Member

flying vienna style Il Volo Marsala

While we are all anxiously awaiting the next visit from our guys – to hopefully a town near us, I changed the words to “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” to adapt to the ll Volo version… “Il Volo is Coming to Town…” Here is my version:

“Il Volo Is Coming To Town”

You better watch out!
You better not cry!
You better not pout!
I’m telling you why.
Il Volo is coming to town!

They’re planning their tour,
From coast to coast.
Gonna find out who loves them the most,
Il Volo is coming to town!

From town to town they’re singing
All of our favorite songs.
From Granada to Surrender
We all want to sing along!

Oh, you better watch out!
You better not cry!
You better not pout!
I’m telling you why.
Il Volo is coming to town!

Long musical interlude…

Piero, Gian, Ignazio
We love you all so much
Can’t wait until we see your smiles
Can’t wait to feel your touch!

Oh, you better watch out!
You better not cry!
You better not pout!
I’m telling you why.

Il Volo is coming
Oh yes they are coming
Il Volo is coming to town!

Can you guess who wrote this?  No, it wasn’t me, Jane nor Mary.

‘Twas The Night

I have a need to post this poem I wrote (mangled) in 2013.  It’s my favorite for obvious reasons.   Yes…I plan to post it every year.

‘Twas the night before Christmas when all through the villa,
not a creature was stirring, not even Godzilla (couldn’t think of another rhyme)

When, what to my wondering eyes should I hear, (I take liberties)
but a song and three Boys, not tiny, but Dear! (lots of liberties)

I saw Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio too,
up to my rooftop, to my living room they flew!

They were dressed all in Armani, from their head to their foot,
but their clothes were all tarnished, with ashes and soot.

A bundle of love they had in their pack,
and they looked just like heaven, when I calmly stared back!

His eyes how they twinkled! His dimples how merry! (that really is a line!)
Piero’s glasses were there, the color of cherry! (that one’s not)

Gian said not a word but went straight to his work
and filled all my dreams with songs and a perk!

He’d left me Ignazio all covered with bows
and giving a nod up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his Fiat, to Piero gave a whistle,
and away they both flew, like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim as they drove out of site,
“Happy Christmas to all, I hope Marie doesn’t bite!”

Easing into CHRISTMAS with Kitty

WHAT?  A FEW MORE DAYS!  NOoooo!

YEP,  a very few;  and  I have a feeling that some of you may be stuck right here!a kitty 2

Of course, the ultimate goal is here instead right?

So……here are some suggestions that could help.  Great for the night before “THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS” eve. Huh?  Whenever is good too!     #1 A warm cup of tea, cocoa, cider, or your choice, hummm!   #2 Pull on some warm footies.  #3 Grab a fuzzy lap blanket, a comfy chair or sofa, and sit yourself down!  (Preferably in front of a fire, but on a sofa will do nicely as well).  Good, now just take a deep breath,… or several.  NICE!

Next, since you can’t frown and smile at the same time, I don’t think, here are a couple of cute things to bring on that smile, and begin to address the stress. (Hey, it rhymes.)

Now, I found this video.  It’s very informative, and entertaining.  Christmas Traditions elsewhere, including Italy, (of course).

Okay, it’s time for music!  A little nostalgia for Christmas?  Enjoy!

Now our guys.  A little while back, but beautiful.  Watch each of them closely. This is one of my favorites because of their intensity, and the very apparent inner respect with which they regard each other.

Hope this has allowed the beauty of what Christmas is meant to be, to shine bright, and bring you peace.  Now it’s time to wish you a very joyous, yet thoughtful……

 MERRY CHRISTMAS AND BUON NATALIE!

I do have one more thing to share.  I wrote this in December 1970.  It is one of my very first attempts at writing poetry.  Hope you like it.

CHRISTMAS WISHES

A Christmas card felt sad the day that she was picked to bring,
her Christmas greeting, warm and true, fore she wished that she could sing.
Just like a dove in early morn, a song so sweet and clear,
announcing to a waking world, a bright new day is here.
She wished she could express the thoughts, behind her printed words,
and feel the gratefulness that’s felt, but of course, that was absured!
No, she would simply have to make the best of what she had,
for after all, to bring some joy, was certainly not bad.
She knows the one receiving it, will feel within their heart,
the glowing warmth, her message has endeavored to impart.
And even though it’s Christmas, a time so very dear,
her wishes are sincerely wished, each day throughout the year.

Wishing you peace, love and joy and blessings, as always,  KITTY

Beautiful Sicily,

We owe you a bunch,
Your exports are lovely,
Pistachios to munch,
Olives for martinis,
Sardines for our toast,
Your wine makes us happy,
Of that you can boast.
Those things are quite welcome,
We like them a lot,
And we have to tell you
They sure hit the spot.
We love you for sending us
Goodies galore,
But we have to tell you
We love something more.
Even more than the taste treats–
You gave us your sons,
Piero and Ignazio,
Yes, they are the ones.
Grown up tall and handsome.
Remember them when
They played in your backyards?
And now they are men.
Teamed up with Gianluca
They gave us your songs.
But they’ll always remember
You’re where they belong.
You loaned them to us,
But you gave them their starts,
And now they are planted
Quite firm in our hearts.
So Sicily, we thank you
Sincerely again,
For giving us Il Volo
Your finest of men.

~Mary
