And here is the report of the concert in Matera, lived by Crystal Dawn, member of Flight Crew.
Ciao Flight Crew! I have arrived in Japan after a 30 hour travel day by my wristwatch.
I had little sleep— only 3 hours after the end of the Matera concert and my departure from Matera to make all my connection (bus, two trains, and two planes) prior to my arrival in Japan where I am visiting my son and meeting my one year old granddaughter Fiorina. Now for the highly desired concert details……
The signs we were holding up had written on them “Grazie Ragazzi” with a heart. We were instructed by Matera fan club members to raise the papers and wave them when Piero entered the stage for their first song. The guys were clearly touched from this gesture.
This Cava de Sole concert was another beautiful setting in Matera with a lovely sunset as the backdrop prior to the beginning. The sound quality much better for me here than at the PBS concert.
My front row seat was directly center. I was very close and when Piero sat on the edge of the stage near the end of the concert. I was the first to reach his side with Antonia a few paces behind me. I was able to hear the power of his voice as it entered the microphone. Quite a thrill. I was also first to reach Gianluca when he stood on the speakers (he did not sit). Such a beautiful smile as he acknowledged fans below him.
The banter near the middle of the concert when Gianluca acknowledged the inclusion of several songs in English and any Americans present— I had my hand raised and he pointed to me and asked where I was from and I said, “Oregon.”
Security was very heavy at both concerts, with local police, military, and hired security people—not necessarily staff. I do not know if this is usual, or new. But when fans approached the stage at the Sunday concert security pushed in and quickly pushed us back. Several times I felt it was a bit over the top as we were being very respectful of the guys.
The guys delivered an amazing concert. More relaxed than the PBS concert. Ignazio wore a black shirt and no jacket. Piero white shirt and jacket, and Gianluca in all black—always very stylish.
This concert was also fairly intimate with only about 500 seats—I overheard someone state that number and looking around I would agree. The evening warm, the lighting and sound breathtaking.
When the drums beat for the opening of “Musica Che Resta” I felt the vibration throughout my body. Alessandro Quarta delivered a passionate accompaniment. It is a sublime mixture of the guys and Alessandro. I was very happy to learn of his partnership in this tour.
This Musica concert was more in keeping with my concert expectations. I do feel that as this was their first one, that as they continue throughout Italia that they will be even more relaxed and have more fun on stage with each other and their audiences. By the time they reach America they will have a finely honed mixture of songs and banter.
My one GREAT disappointment was not having the opportunity to enjoy a meet and greet with the guys. Yes, prior to the PBS sound check I was able snatch a quick photo with only Gianluca and Piero—but no conversation in the few seconds exchange as they literally ran past me. Matera was considered a “Zero” concert by the promoters (why I do not understand). In any case, I had made great effort to attend. I extended my travels by two weeks to attend this concert—which gifted me with the extra days to visit their home villages (Roseto degli Abruzzi, Montepagano, Naro, Marsala (eating at Nina’s pizzeria), and Bologna). Prior to my travels in Italia, I was praying in 10 churches (along the Camino de Santiago during my 800 kilometers pilgrimage walk) for for IL VOLO’s continued success, well-being, prosperity, and joy. I traveled for 100 days with often an IL VOLO focus. To literally come to the end of my trip and not achieve that goal of spending a few minutes chatting with guys was honestly depressing for me. I was literally soooo close to them physically for the two concerts, yet also so far away with regards to meaningful conversation.
The guys always deliver a spectacular professional performance, are engaging with their audience, appreciate their band and orchestra members, and acknowledge their management. They are humble, sweet, gorgeous young men.
I was very honored to be able to attend both concerts in the historic Matera. It is now a cherished memory of a lifetime.
Once again, thank you so much Crystal Dawn for your report.
I have to correct a number.
You say there were 500 people, newspapers say 1,500.
I feel satisfied with what you saw, and I think you could interact with the guys.
You also did a beautiful spiritual journey.
It is true, you did not have the opportunity to exchange a few words with Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, but you must believe me, do you know how many would have liked to have been in your place, attached them to the stage where Piero was sitting and close to Gian?
Thanks again for this report.
Our other crew member also sent me her impressions, here they are:
It was really extraordinary, I don’t know what to tell you what I liked most. For me the solo of Ignazio and also that of Piero and then the duet between all is three. But I didn’t make the video.
It was really nice when Piero said … “Now we have to sing a song in English for our fans who came from the United States.” I don’t know if it is possible but I always fall in love with them a little more every time I go there I see them in concert . It was really an exciting night.
I also thank you for your impressions.
Of course you were also in magnificent places, front row, you witnessed a beautiful concert during a beautiful sunset in an immortal city.
What can I say …… jealousy …. no, we are happy for you !!!!
Well, the date of the PBS special arrived, 14 June 2019.
We are all very excited to have photos, videos, discover the songs that will be sung. There are two Flight Crew members that have been selected by the official fanclub for this great initiative, and they are Crystaldawn and Antonia Guzzo.
We are very happy for them, we hope they can send us some nice news.
Yesterday there were general rehearsals and little was leaked, just some afternoon photos and a video of TRM Tele Radio Matera.
Here they are.
And here is the TRM video, remember to activate the subtitles.
And here is the opinion of Crystaldawn, who published in the comments of the post of Matera and that perhaps, not all of you have read.
The concert was very intimate with only approximately 20-25 round tables seating 6-8 guests. Upon arrival we were offered a glass of sparkling wine. The evening warm and the backdrop of Matera skyline lit up was spectacular. Our fan table was in the front row near the center. Due to PBS filming, we were not allowed to use our cell phones to video the guys.
Their voices were amazing and being so close it was a powerful sound. The guys were great of course, but somewhat reserved due to the filming. Ignazio the most active—but that is to be expected.
Now for the songs, it was a mix of everything. Beginning with “IL Mondo” and ending with “Grande Amore”. Alessandro Quarta was their special surprise guest. He played “Musica Che Resta” with them, along with accompanying each on their solos, and having a solo of his own. Only a couple of songs from their new album were sung . . . “Arriverderci Roma” and “A chi mi dice”.
To be honest, I anticipated more songs from their new album (I will hear them Sunday night), but this is for PBS promotions in the USA and I felt a lot of the material they presented had already appeared on PBS specials and therefore to promote their new album for Americans mostly new material (along with some old favorites) was expected.
The guys were dressed in casual black suits, black shirt and socks. Ignazio wore blue loafer shoes. They never changed their clothing and kept their jackets on. I like it where part way through they take their jackets off and roll up their sleeves. But again, PBS filming. I look forward to Sunday night when they can cut loose.
Ignazio brought a jogging friend and his mom. Ignazio looks great with his weight loss which all three made a point of showing it off. Gianluca had his whole family and girl friend Francesca. I didn’t notice any special guests of Piero. I was able to obtain a quick photo with Piero and Gianluca as they were entering the sound check prior to the concert and give both a small pilgrimage gift that I prepared for them. In the case of Ignazio, I handed it to his mom after the concert.
I had hoped that the guys would be able to say a quick hello and photo with the 10 fans who were selected. But that did not occur before or after the concert. We did receive a little wave from the stage when they were near our table and off camera.
I look forward to Sunday night and a concert that will be more in line with my expectations.
Thank you very much Crystal Dawn, for your very welcome report, it must have been exciting to have the boys so close.
Well, the voices of the boys have not betrayed, strong and powerful as always.
We understand that you prefer a less formal program, where guys don’t feel harnessed by how they should look, but more free to express their personalities. I think their concert on Sunday will have a more formal initial part and then another less formal one. Sure that the songs will be different, less popular classics and maybe some new additions.
And what about Matera, the ancient Sassi lent their precious image for an even more beautiful show.
Thanks Matera.
From what Crystal Dawn said, and from what has transpired from the short videos, we can say that there were these songs: (in random order)
IL MONDO
MUSICA CHE RESTA
GRANDE AMORE
CARUSO
UN AMORE COSì GRANDE
NESSUN DORMA
LIBIAM DE LIETI CALICI
TORNA A SURRIENTO
NOTTE STELLATA
VOLARE
ARRIVERDERCI ROMA
A CHI MI DICE
LOVE STORY (Piero)
MI MANCHERAI (Gianluca)
ALMENO TU NELL’UNIVERSO (Ignazio)
SHE’S ALWAYS A WOMAN (Gianluca)
(For now, they are the ones we have been able to know, but I believe there are others.)
And here are some short videos of the evening.
In the exchange of words, here is the speech:
G = We have a prince here.
I = Thank you, in fact, they wanted to do me PRINCIPE DI MARSALA (Prince of Marsala), but I said no, no, no, there is already a BARON, just a Baron of Agrigento here. (laughter)
P = Di Naro, not from Agrigento.
And here’s today’s Basilicata news.
Director Duccio Forzano in Matera for the live show of Il Volo.
Thanks again to Crystal Dawn for her report, now we wait for the other news.
Ok, the special PBS has been made. And now it’s running, tomorrow is the big day, MUSICA TOUR is waiting for us.
We all attended the fourth evening of Sanremo, the beautiful duet of IL VOLO with Alessandro Quarta for the performance of “MUSICA CHE RESTA”.
It was a wonderful evening and we all had the opportunity to know this great artist.
Alessandro Quarta was born in 1976 in Lecce and has a great success internationally, so much so that CNN has defined him a “musical genius” – a true star, the result of a great passion for music. Besides being a famous violinist, Alessandro Quarta is in fact a multi-instrumentalist and composer.
In his curriculum he has collaborations with major world artists such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Jamiroquai, James Brown, Tina Turner and Tom Jones.
In 2017 he was awarded at Montecitorio as “Best Italian Excellence in the World for Music.”
Alessandro has released a wonderful interview with RECENSIAMO MUSICA, which I now translate for you.
The meeting with the violinist from Puglia in the aftermath of his performance at the Sanremo Festival 2019.
“There is no classical music and light music, there is beautiful music and bad music”, begins with a quote by the American composer Leonard Bernstein our chat with Alessandro Quarta, internationally renowned violinist whom we had the opportunity to appreciate on the stage of the Ariston Theater.
Hello Alessandro, welcome to Recensiamo Musica. I would like to start with your recent participation in Sanremo as a guest of Il Volo in the evening of the duets. How did you experience this experience?
“I would say very well, I did not expect the call of Michele (Torpedine) and the boys. As you can imagine, for me it was an important emotion, I deeply admire these three artists so young, theirs is a great musical talent and I think they still have a lot to give to the public, because they possess both the technique and the head, features that they do not always go hand in hand.”
What motivated you to collaborate with them?
“With the boys we share the same great passion, they for the beautiful song, I for the violin and the ability to combine beauty, passion, softness and violence together, aware of what you want and can give. I’ve never made a distinction between classical music and pop music. I appreciate everything that comes straight to the heart and makes you shiver, whether it’s Mozart or Il Volo.”
Musically speaking, however, there are some things you do not like?
“Surely, it annoys me everything that screams to be heard, but this is not necessarily enough to get noticed, indeed there is the risk that the opposite will happen, that the trouble will push you to change channels or stations. I accepted to collaborate with them because I consider them as innovators, certainly they were not the first ones, but they follow the great example set by Luciano Pavarotti and continued by Andrea Bocelli .”
“Musica che resta” has made someone turn up their noses, they have defined it as a too traditional song, because in your opinion the term “classic” is seen today as a negative assertion?
“It’s simple, everything that is labeled is already prejudicial in itself. I’ll give you an example, if you see me walking down the street I do not think you would ever ask me what time it is, because from my appearance I can look like a Mexican escapist, it’s much more reassuring, someone in a jacket and tie that, maybe, steals your wallet. Unfortunately what is said is true, it is the clothes that makes the man, the same thing happens in music. What I recommend to everyone is to listen before judging, especially to young people who are more likely to be influenced than they can imagine.”
Two years ago you were awarded as “Best Italian Excellence in the World for Music”, you the best person spoken to for this next question: how are art and culture in Italy?
“Bad, very bad, I’m not at all happy with how we are managing our immense artistic resources. Italy is living, of cultural heritage, it would take more responsibility on the part of the institutions, which should innovate and enhance our present, not just the glorious past. If we go back in time, between the end of the 1800’s and the beginning of the 1900’s, we would discover how the great musicians Erik Satie, Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy have not been immediately successful, despite having reformed the art. Without them, today, we would not have what we have.”
You have traveled the world, you know many realities, because it is also a matter of mentality. We are loved around the world for Italian bel canto, why do we struggle to recognize it ourselves?
“Good question, I think we are a bit ‘too tied to the opinions of others’ and we trust little of instinct that suggests the kind of emotions we want to try. It is often just a matter of fads, you follow the herd rather than bring out your personality by praising your tastes. Then, for heaven’s sake, not everything can please, but why criticize something before even knowing it? A dish should not be judged by its appearance, it must be tasted and not photographed .”
You are a multi-instrumentalist musician, what binds you so much to the violin compared to all the other instruments?
“Do not ask me, I do not know what to answer, for me the violin is not an instrument, it’s part of my body. I also play the piano, the guitar, the bass and the drums, but there is no answer to your question, it’s like I was born with the bow in my hand, I started at the age of three, it’s part of me and he accompanies me around the world even simply resting in his beautiful custody (smiles).”
Speaking of your upcoming projects, February 22 will be released for the Italian market “Alessandro Quarta plays Astor Piazzolla”. What can you tell us about it?
“I think it is very important to bring the tango back to the atmospheres in which it was born, from sensuality to sexuality, everything that cannot be said in words or seen with images can be told through music. As we said before, the violin is not only a sweet and romantic but above all passionate instrument. For centuries it has been considered boring, in reality there is nothing more rock and erotic than its sound .”
What is the most important lesson you feel you have learned from all these years of musical activity?
“First of all, sacrifice is important, because wanting is power. Perhaps, the teaching that I have is to always remain oneself, even when in the dark moments nobody believes or struggles to understand you, it is in those moments that your real soul comes out, from that precise moment onwards people they will begin to know you for what you do and not for what you are.”
Really beautiful words of Alessandro Quarta, there is a lot of respect and a lot of affection towards our boys, even though they have just recently met.
Too bad that the video of the performance has been removed from RAI and therefore is no longer visible.
I AM WITH IL VOLO
And now I want to make you feel an instrumental version of “MUSICA CHE RESTA”, performed with the electric guitar by Marco Sgaramella, I liked it so much!
But last, I want to offer you this video. It was made by Emilio Munda, who is one of the authors of“MUSICA CHE RESTA”. He was in Sanremo, in the gallery, in the audience, and he filmed this video during the performance of the first night of the boys.
The stage is far away, but it is wonderful to see the public reaction.
And here is Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, with Emilio Munda, in Sanremo.
This is the respect we want for Ignazio, Piero and GIanluca.
The respect that comes from worthy people, from people who believe in them and in their talent.
Guys, the road is always the right one, forward with your head high.
The controversy over the treatment of Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio by the press room is not over yet.
Even today (Sunday) while I am writing this post for you, a television program has just ended, where the guests talked about Sanremo and how unjust the treatment suffered by our boys is.
The newspapers and television programs that have talked about this topic are many. I will try to make an overview with bad things, I would say very bad that they were written and that certainly will make you angry a lot, and also beautiful things.
Surely this collage of comments by the journalist Domenico Naso, will make you shiver with rage. He was in the press room and published these comments to brag about it, but the thing turned against him.
This man speaks of an “anti-VOLO brigade”, in short, a sort of group of people who do not like IL VOLO, (and this is their right), but which in any case tries to hinder the success of IL VOLO(and this is a really very vile act).
In the first comment, on the left, he comments on the famous video of the press room, published by his colleague Silvia Truzzi (always to brag), his comment says:
So much love for the mythical anti-Volo brigade of which I am honored to be a part.
In the comment at the bottom left he writes:
The Festival musically more “contemporary” than ever, is likely to crown again the three young-old. It’s Italy.
First comment at the top right:
Hallucinating ranking: IL VOLO among the first three.
Other than whistling, there would be to devastate the Ariston (the theater).
And now we do NOT DISPERSE THE VOTE.
OTHERWISE WE RISK FINDING OURSELVES, THE THREE THINGS.
Second comment on the right:
I’m sure the press room anti-IL VOLO brigade will be honoring my seat at this difficult time. True?
Last comment on the right:
Danger averted, I repeat: danger averted.
Abandoning the anti-atomic shelters, the country is safe.
(Sanremo was over and IL VOLO had not won)
When I read these comments, I was baffled ……. BUT HOW IS THIS ALLOWED ?????
I know that now you are full of anger at the comments of this “journalist”, but do you think he understood or apologized? Absolutely not, in fact he said that it is not about bullying, but he does not like IL VOLO, so it’s a long time that he’s ironic about it.
My friend Melina, posted on the journalist’s Facebook page, some worthy comments and then she wrote these words, which I consider absolutely correct:
So far I have not commented on the story of this horrible Festival of Sanremo, having to overcome the bitterness and anger, honestly I do not know if I have succeeded and if I can be sufficiently lucid, I’ll try.
To begin with we premise that the guys of Il Volo have been since their career began, subject to obstruction by the press and the media, this attitude has increased dramatically after the victory at Sanremo in 2015, becoming a real and a widespread and systematic boycott, which is capable of destroying them artistically and humanly, in fact the so-called “criticisms” were not directed only to their musical genre (our Italian melody, third in the world in importance), but also to them personally. They were called young-old, bimbiminkia and other similar amenities, they were accused of being presumptuous, whipped, and arrogant, all seasoned with offenses, derision and ridicule. With nobody else, the Italian press, the various “experts” and “opinionists”, have allowed themselves a so insolent and disrespectful attitude! “Those of us who tried to point out this situation were mocked and insulted.”
We come now specifically, I will not dwell on the fact that in a serious competition the juries remain the same for the duration of the event and that one is not removed in the last two evenings, to replace it with another, ridiculously called “jury of ‘honor’ which turned out to be “jury of horror”, composed among others by a cook, who invited on social networks to vote for a singer, four actresses, a friend of a competitor’s girlfriend and a former producer of a protagonist of the duets.
But as the whole world now knows, the real eyesore has been consummated in the press room where presumed professionals in the exercise of their function, have abandoned themselves to vulgar hysterical, inadmissible, incomprehensible, indefensible and unmotivated insults, epithets and personal offenses, as it is clearly visible in the videos circulated a bit everywhere. They are unworthy images of men and women, most of them with gray hair, who rant against three guys who are only doing their job, the one they study and sacrifice for. Now that this shame has come to the open, instead of doing mea culpa, the aforementioned professionals, are indignant for the violation of their privacy, moreover perpetrated by their own colleagues present, who had the brilliant idea to post the videos as if they were a pride (fortunately sometimes the impudent arrogant, they are also stupid)!
And fleeing, trying to limit the damage, citing tragicomics (tragic comedy) and childish justifications, invoking episodes of cheerful “goliardia” (university students) and finally proffering weak excuses with clenched teeth. Some of the journalists who have left an opinion have continued to turn over the omelette (take the excuse), others have cowardly preferred to delete the comments, remove the post and block. I quote here, for example, one of my thoughts written on the page of the journalist who recorded one of the incriminated videos, to boast of such dignity, comment that was promptly removed by the “lady”: “I AM A FAN OF IL VOLO. Il Volo are international stars, videos unworthy have been around the world, causing indignation and making a petty figure to the Italian press. This is the difference between you and them: they bring prestige to Italy, but you bring discredit!” . . . of course, the truth was not tolerable.
Melina
Yes, because you understood correctly, the apologies of the journalists were really ridiculous, they said that they were only goliardic scenes (similar to frat house antics).
Still here in Italy we are talking about all the bad stuff, the boys have not been on TV anymore, they are thinking about their tour dates. They really had an incredible response of correctness and education, they are really an example.
But now I want to show you some nice messages that have arrived.
First of all this comment is by Gianna Nannini, the evening of the duets wrote as follows:
“This is rock! Yesterday you split the Ariston with that violin!”
And this was posted a couple of days ago by Alessandro Quarta:
The moment that I would live another million times!
“Sanremo 2019” with “Il Volo” and the “Standing Ovation” of the Ariston Theater and of all those who love their music in the world, because it is “Musica che Resta” !!! ~ Alessandro Quarta ~
I end with this speech by Bartoletti, a great friend of our boys, here are his words:
“Look Mara, they knew perfectly well that going to Sanremo, they had to accept a regulation that included a televoting, which favored them, and two juries, admittedly against.
Yet they went the same, yet they smiled, before the verdict.
The jury of honor, placed them at the twenty-first place, is not a judgment, it is a form of artistic racism against IL VOLO, and they have always and only a smile !!”
Thanks Bartoletti, for your sincere affection for the guys !!
I really hope that the opinion of journalists and critics, has had a good shock, because it is unworthy of the behavior they had, towards Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca.
I do not know if there will be repentance from these people, but at least that for the future they have learned the lesson, because these guys are “great” in every sense and must be respected.
As for Alessandro Quarta, I sincerely hope that he can perform with IL VOLO in concert so that we can all enjoy this wonderful performance!
Sanremo has passed. It was really hard. The boys expected very busy days of work and emotions.
Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca were, to say the least, fabulous, magnificent performers of a beautiful song.
The first night, they are greeted with a very long applause that has confirmed the affection of the public.
On the evening of the duets, together with the violinist Alessandro Quarta, they performed a magnificent performance and received a standing ovation. They deserved first prize!
Let’s review the performance together.
Sanremo is over and third place went to them. Honestly, as things were going, I did not even believe that they would be placed within the first three positions, but, as usual, let’s recap everything.
It is now known to all that Italian journalists have never had a good relationship with IL VOLO, but this year they have really exceeded the limit of rudeness.
Already the Sunday before the beginning of Sanremo, the newspaper ROLLING STONE ITALIA had published an article to say the least honorable comments on our boys, so that in the evening, Torpedine had made a hard post against the newspaper, from his Facebook page.
Sanremo started and there were evening performances and continuous interviews during the day.
For those fortunate enough to be able to follow Italian TV, he will have noticed that the boys have always been polite, humble and sincere, always with a smile even if they sometimes listened to comments and unjust vows on them.
Therefore, during the final evening, in scrolling through the final classification and getting to the fourth place and seeing that IL VOLO had not been called, I was very happy. I ran to vote again, final verdict, third place. Damn, I’m glad they are within the first three, but they could also be second, because I’ve always known that ULTIMO was the super favorite and is also followed by countless very young fans.
But now, after being aware of certain videos and above all of the votes of each evening, I felt a great rage.
IL VOLO COULD BE FIRST TOO.
But the thing that made me more angry are videos taken in the press room, where we see journalists ridicule our boys, when Piero begins to sing and a journalist shouts “in jail” and then to the final proclamation journalists rejoice because IL VOLO is only third, and a woman’s voice says a dirty word addressed to the boys, whom I do not want to repeat.
These are really scenes of infinite baseness. I am deeply ashamed of these people.
Here is the video.
Today this video, is going around the web, thanks to Francesco Facchinetti (TV-radio host) who retweeted it by adding these textual words to journalists:
“I would kick you in the ass, until the end of the world, idiots, assholes and fools.”
Everyone is outraged, and all the newspapers and TV are talking about it.
The boys of IL VOLO, have always been very kind and polite to everyone and do not deserve a similar treatment.
Saturday afternoon, just before the last night in Sanremo, the boys were guests on a television program and there was a debate between our boys and a woman journalist who was always very critical with them.
The presenter asked Gianluca if he was affected by the negative criticism and Gianluca said no, because the more journalists criticize them and the more people support them.
Then the presenter, addressed to the audience in the hall, said: “Whoever agrees with Gianluca gets up.” and all the people got up.
The journalist was offended and wanted to leave, Ignazio intervened, trying to calm her down and reassure her, while Piero said: “It’s a week that you tell us that our music is old, but we like it.”
But let’s talk about the votes.
I am attaching the table of overall votes, before the final evening, as you can see, IL VOLOwas in first place.
In the last last vote, Ultimo overcomes them, thanks to the televoting, but also to the juries, the same juries that allow Mahmood to win, because both juries all vote for Mahmood, which instead had not taken so many votes from home.
So now there is a big storm, because those who voted from home paying, has seen the result overturned by a jury of 8 people.
A newspaper wrote: “If there is someone who has to complain about the vote of the Press Room and the Jury of Honor, it is IL VOLO”.
And in all this, our boys how did they behave?
Exceptional as always.
After suffering all the bad comments, they were on the podium and immediately congratulated the winner, a sincere hug, to Mahmood, still incredulous to be the winner, Ignazio even seems to help him out of the shock. Ignatius, you are a sweet teddy bear.
There is no malice in them, only affection for everyone.
Of course the bitterness is so much, then watching those horrible videos, the anger rises, and I wonder how the families of our boys reacted? One of them commented, but I believe on behalf of everyone, of course Ercole Ginoble.
“Sanremo has always been a stage where there is no lack of controversy, it is not the first time that we are facing them but it is also a stage that leaves room for the judgment of the people who listen and choose the music in which they recognize each other!
Thanks to all those who have made their support felt these days and in these 10 years. YEA, IL VOLO!”
Ercole Ginoble
But after watching those videos, Ercole Ginoble tweeted like this:
The good and educated “journalists” ??? Italian. Thank you for your professionalism!
And at the end today, on the official Facebook page of IL VOLO, the guys have published this comment:
We needed a few days to be lucid and to tell our story about what happened.
Some journalists (and it is good to say only a few) have heavily insulted us. They used words like “shit”, “fuck”, “in jail”, which we consider as the result of a real form of bullying, of teasing from the stadium. These people have not brought glory to the order they represent, their attitude has been an insult, before us, to all fellow journalists who do their work in a serious and professional manner.
In 10 years we have received a lot of criticism about our music, about the genre we sing, we have been accused of being arrogant and snooty.
We have never given importance to all this, also because, fortunately, we have supporters who support us daily and love what we do. But when we see videos that testify to the wickedness and lack of humanity on the part of people who could be our parents (many of whom are also our grandparents), it annoys us a lot. Bother because every artist must have his own space for musical expression. To be called “shit” or to see someone shouting “in jail” just because we are doing what we like to do in life is very disrespectful to us, but above all to freedom of expression.
Music should be freedom, not a reason for insult!
Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, Gianluca Ginoble of Il Volo.
But since we talked a lot about last night, let’s enjoy at least a little piece of “MUSICA CHE RESTA”.
And here in this video, the most beautiful moments of this adventure of Sanremo.
And here is the cover of Sorrisi e Canzoni.
I’m so proud of our Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca !!
You guys are formidable, you’ve done some performances, not a step, but a whole scale above all the others.
Your talent is unquestionable, and when you have combined your talent with the Fourth violinist, it has been a pleasure for ears and eyes.
But what should we say about you as a human person?
You are really beautiful people, polite, and pleasant to everyone, humble and good.
I’m so proud to be your fan.
I am a fan of IL VOLO.
Credit to owners of all photos and videos.
Come in and share the love of life, friends and Il Volo!
