Many of us here on the site have been writing about the three bestsingers on the planet for several years now. Everyone describes them with superlatives and all of the superlatives about Il Volo are authentic.
I love the way we come here everyday to read someone’s thoughts about Gianluca, Piero or Ignazio. Their professional and personal lives, their beautiful country and culture, their families and friends are all very interesting to us. We never get tired of seeing them, reading about them or writing about them. This brings us closer to them and each other making us feel more connected.
They give to us more than I think they will ever know. They stand in front of us on stages world wide and share their gifts so openly and humbly.
They need no fancy lighting, gyrating dancers or catchy gimmicks. Justa microphone and each other.
They own the stage and their music. It’s pure. It’s captivating. It’spowerful. Their current Notte Magica Tour showcases this more than ever.
There is still so much to be said about these three. I can’t wait to read what some of you will say after you have seen them in concert during the European leg of their tour. They will become legendary. There will be people talking about them and writing about them for years tocome.Has it all been said? No way!
I just watched Rebecca Granet’s interview with our guys on the program, The Trend, and I am thrilled and touched by what they had to say about their American fans.
Rebecca’s question to Ignazio: “What are the United States fans like? How are they different from other folks around the world?”
He answered that “they always give standing ovations. They are really proudof us. It’s like having an uncle or an aunt in the audience….like ourfamily.”
Gian interjected, “We are like a big family with our American fans….it’s like having a family in every theater in every place.” And Piero added, “The American audiences, they tell you everything. When you finish a song there is like silence and someone screams from up there, “How do you get that note?” Ignazio: “We like that.”
Well, guys, we like hearing that you feel like WE ARE FAMILY. Of course we are….we adopted you way back when you had your first USA tour. You immediately captured us and we took you to our hearts. That family feeling has just continued to grow, and how sweet it is to hear you affirming it in your own words.
As you travel across the country on this tour, we know that you will feel the love that we have for “our boys.” You will see it in the standingovationsand see it on our faces. As soon as the current tour is over, we will immediately start to dream and plan for when you will come again….how many concerts each of us will be able to attend. Some of us may have to cut back on basic necessities, but that’s okay–you have become a basic necessityto us.
What a sweet miracle that over these years when you have been becoming well known and loved all around the world, you have kept your humilityand your special affection for your American family. We’ve always known it was there, and we felt it emanating from you, but how sweet it is to hear it straight from your own lips.
Welcome home, dear ones–your American family is waiting with open arms.
A recent “pigiama party” where all the guests are hunkered down and doing what millennials do best…using their cell phones, probably on social media sites. Be it in Italy or anywhere, this generation is affixed to their phones. Looking down the road I would say the one in the middle will someday be a world famous opera singer who as a millennial had a stunning career singing with Il Volo, but was still a normal everyday guy who would hang out with his friends when ever he got the chance and just be himself.
Two more humble Italian millennials doing what they do so graciously.
This tender hearted millennial is being honored through the Reuse with love program. With his generous donation an important piece of medical equipment was purchased.
This handsome millennial is at the inauguration at the Castle of Chiaramonte Naro, where an entire room was dedicated to him.
Even the dolphins stand in line to kiss this amazing millennial.
Pure love
Three extraordinary millennials with their little friend, Jonathon, who is now one of Heaven’s most precious angels.
We love these three millennials as if they were our own. They personify the best of the very best at all times.
It was love at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight. ~ Vladimir Nabokov
Yes, I am in love with all three. I love them all uniquely and completely.
Playful, energetic, private and oh so huggable, that’s my note-holding Ignazio. No need for me to tell you how I feel about Ignazio. I have laid that out many times in words that cannot be mistaken. I am absolutely convinced he will be mine in my next life. Don’t laugh, we might just invite you and Gianluca over for dinner.
Gianluca, the one with the soft heart and so full of compassion. When tears roll down his face so do mine. Besides…how could you not get weak-kneed looking at those eyes and that beautiful move-the-clouds-from-the-sun smile?
Piero…when I watch him on stage my heart swells with pride. I can see that his does too. Friendly, comical, loves us all. Many times I’m certain that he is the one I fancy the most.
My love for them is unconditional. It breaches every feeling in every fiber of my being.
When you put them all together on stage and they sing, my insides turn into jelly and my entire body is singing along. I’m never certain if this is the moment my heart will finally burst being just too full of love and overwhelming joy to contain itself. But Lord, what a way to go!
