In the clip you see Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca aboard a sailboat, sailing towards the beautiful island of Capri, passing between the stacks.

10 Year Anniversary, Concert Photos/Reviews

INIZIA IL TOUR: YOKOHAMA by Daniela

The tour has started.

Japan, first stop, Yokohama.

The theater that will host IL VOLO is very beautiful.

Everything is ready, last moments in the backstage, sent by our beautiful baritone.

The evening program booklet is also very nice.

The concert will be set to the NOTTE MAGICA program, but there will certainly be variations.

And here is the list of songs that will be performed in the concert.

A really intense program.

It is very similar to the NOTTE MAGICA program, but with some variations.

The following have been introduced:

“QUESTA O QUELLA” taken from IL Rigoletto,

“NOTTE STELLATA” (lately they sing this only in Japan and instead we would like to hear it everywhere),

“LAMENTO DI FEDERICO” from the Arlesiana,

“BE MY LOVE” and “MUSICA CHE RESTA”  from the last CD.

Furthermore “O ‘PAESE D’O SOLE” is sung by all three and not only by Piero and Ignazio.

Unfortunately in Japan, it is not allowed to make video footage while the concert is taking place, therefore there are no videos, only a very short video of the concert already finished with standing ovation, taken by Mrs. Lenora.

And here are the only photos of the concert.

The Japanese are very observant of the rules.

However we can guess that it was a success, and we wish Piero, Ignazio and GIanluca to continue their tour with great success …… and we hope, for us, to be able to see some videos!

The boys continue to be hosted in the various programs, here they are in the UTACON show, where the boys sing a small song in Japanese.

Very nice as usual and always available for photos.

What do you think about the concert program and the new songs included?

It is clear that the program will not be the same here in Italy and also in the US.

I think it’s a very intense program and honestly I’m curious to hear Rigoletto and Arlesiana.

I also think that these guys can do everything, and range from a classic program to a pop with great ease and this is certainly not for everyone.

Well guys are you ready for the next concert ???

START THE TOUR: JAPAN by Daniela

We’ve known it for a long time Japan was on the horizon.

The boys arrived in “the land of the rising sun” and have already had some commitments.

Here they are upon their arrival.

Visit to Sony Music Japan and the announcement of the start of the tour.

G = It is also an honor to be close to these great characters, whom we dreamed of meeting as children, and whom we then met.

P = Singing in front of Pope Francis was a great thrill and also in front of a million people and this is the most beautiful selfie of our life.

But here we are at the most important moment of the program, IL VOLO performs “NOTTE STELLATA”.

There are no words, this short video of “Notte Stellata” gives us a sweet execution made by our boys. Superb, even if shortened for program needs.

HOW YOU CAN FALL IN AN “ENCHANTMENT” – A video of just over two minutes, shot in Tokyo, in a television studio: three young and handsome boys with unique voices, already beautiful at the beginning, but now, as that the maturation proceeds, even more penetrating, passionate and sensual, a timeless music, “The swan” by Camille Saint Saens, arranged by Tony Renis (“Notte Stellata”), a skater who designs magical evolutions on the ice. Three male voices of a poignant beauty, more and more ductile, ever more melodious, sweet and powerful at the same time, singing the eternal law of love, passion and dream.

IL VOLO AND THEIR MOTHERS by Daniela

Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio arrived in Japan, the tour begins and it starts from the east.

At the airport in Japan, they were greeted by fans who kindly waited for a welcome.

Always followed by the inevitable, sweet Barbara, who does not abandon them for a moment.

But there is also another female presence, Mrs. Lenora, Gianluca’s mother, followed her son in this oriental adventure.

And because today is Mother’s Day, let’s talk a little about the mothers of these fantastic boys.

Here they are:

Eleonora, Caterina and Lenora, are three very sweet women, not at all intrusive or obsessive with their famous children.

Surely, at the beginning these women suffered the distance and all the worries, for these children, little more than little boys, distant thousands of kilometers.

At home there were other children, and the presence could not be divided, but the maternal love, that one, could overcome the enormous distances and make itself felt strong and vigorous, always.

For this reason the role of their fathers, associated with that of the extraordinary Barbara, was also fundamental.

Lenora,  Gianluca’s mother.

Eleonora, Piero’s mother.

Mamma Eleonora, mother of Piero, has a big problem, she has the phobia of flying, so on tours abroad she didn’t follow her son, except perhaps rare cases.

For this reason we have often seen photos of Lenora and Caterina together, that during the tours of the children, they keep each other company. 

Do you recognize Piero’s gaze in Signora Eleonora’s eyes?

For this reason Eleonora  was not there during the special PBS, when the boys sang and were filmed with their mothers.

Really sweet this video !!

But let’s also see the splendid concert in Taormina, where Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca sang “MAMMA” clutching their mothers warmly.

Fantastic, what adorable kids.

Who wouldn’t want to be in place of those three moms ??

They will be very proud to huddle with their children, in front of all those people.

Really beautiful images, which move us and prove the great love that binds these guys to their mothers.

An interviewer, one day asked the boys, if they considered themselves “mammons” (very close to their mother, often said in the negative sense) and they answered, “What is wrong with loving their mother?” We have to admit this is a sign of a great son’s love.

We owe a great thank you to these women for having raised children with sound principles, with great education and respect. 

A mother’s love goes beyond time and circumstances, and is forever.

Naturally we are all linked to our mothers, certainly is not a party to remind us of them, but it serves to make us linger a little and distract ourselves from the daily life of this frenetic world and send our thoughts, to the one who created us, our mum, wherever she is.

I think of you too, mum, and I know you’re always here with me.

TORPEDINE AND THE TALENT SHOW by Daniela

I want to explain the meaning of the video posted by Michele Torpedine.

During the program Dancing with the Stars, Carolyn Smith, great friend of Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio,  said that she loves all three boys and says that next time it would be nice to invite Michele Torpedine to perform a dance, in Dancing with the Stars.

In fact the idea would be good, I think we would all look at Michele juggle into a dance.

But why did Michele Torpedine make a collage of all his interventions in the various television programs, putting in opening and closing, the request of the nice Carolyn?

I’ll explain it to you right away.

You should know that Michele Torpedine, who you have come to know as a person who has no hair on his tongue (says what he thinks), has recently been very critical of Italian talent programs.

He does not disagree with the type of program, but with the judges that are used, because they are often very incompetent people, who know nothing of the subject, but are known public figures, and therefore are used as judges, only to have the audience view the program.

In this way, the work of these program talent is debased, because they should bring to light the true talents, instead there are inexperienced judges who do not recognize the value of the boys who are in front of them, often killing their expectations and their hopes.

Certainly, Michele, with his experience in the musical field, both as an instrumentalist and as a talent scout, would certainly give a nice support, in these programs where music and song seek new talents………..but he is never called to be a judge.

For this reason, Torpedine wanted to make a video collage of all the interventions in TV programs, where he reiterated this concept.

He has made it clear several times that, if he were called to be a judge, he could even think of going into these programs.

Ironically, Michele starts with Carolyn’s video and ends with the same video, to confirm that the only talent program he received a formal invitation to participate in was Dancing with the Stars, through the nice Carolyn.

Too bad the program is a talent for dancing and not singing !!!!

These are the words that Michele Torpedine wrote in a post on his Facebook page, LA TORPEDINIERA:

“Today the discovery of new artists takes place through the commodification of talent.

Without the visibility that only a talent show or a platform like YouTube can give you, there is no way out of anonymity.

However, for someone like me, who does not give up yet and never will, the greatest desire, especially when I see the raging nothing, is still to go to the places where live music is played and there to search, listen, ask … where you least expect it!”

“Discovering and bringing a hidden talent to success, getting it to be applauded all over the world, well, that’s another thing.”

Needless to say, I completely agree with Torpedine.

The Italian talent programs, unfortunately, cannot be judged by people who are not completely educated on the type of talent they must judge or so inexperienced that they cannot be judges.

Congratulations Michele, for stating all of this, in the various programs, you will be more liked …… or more hated ???

Surely it depends on the point of view.
