(thought I’d update the post with the new album cover, since we have it now – does it remind anyone else of the Beatles’ “Abbey Lane” cover?)
We’ve all been not so very patiently waiting for their new CD to be announced! Yes, finally, it is to be released on Feb 22, 2019! However, it is only on Amazon.it for right now. I’m sure it will be available on Amazon in the USA eventually, but who knows when? 🙂
Of course, this die-hard fan has already ordered it, but I’ve also heard a few of you had beat me to it already – lol…
I ordered mine on Saturday and got the expedited shipping – of course, and it says it will be delivered the last week of February. If you choose regular shipping, arrival is first week of March or so. But if you choose the expedited shipping, for $18, it still says arrival Feb 27 – 28. Also, do not let the FREE SHIPPING entice you – that is only for ITALY! If you can understand Italian, or at least figure it out, that’s good. If not, Google Chrome, and if you have the new Microsoft Edge, both have a translate feature. I had to do the plug-in for the Edge, but it works beautifully. Since the CD has not been officially released, there is no picture, or any song lists….
Of course, those of you lucky enough to be in Italy, may get to see the guys in person at an event signing… sigh…. 🙁 Perhaps that is why they are not doing any touring until March, so they can do a CD signing tour?
If you are short on cash right now, not to worry, they won’t bill you until they ship. 🙂 If you think the shipping is a lot, it is; however, I went back to my notes and realized I paid $25 for the expedited copy of the Grande Amore – Sanremo edition 4 years ago, so price has actually gone down. So this is a bargain… Interestingly, the CD is listed as 22.74 euros, however, when you click on it, the price indicates the 18 euros price (or lower).
If you still have not gotten their book (I really doubt it will be translated into English…) it is also available for a lot less than originally published, however, the shipping is more than the book cost! lol! But still well worth it – around $20…. (I think the book was originally close to $20) The book is available immediately, so why not treat yourself to the book and the CD; and you can struggle through the Italian, while you wait for the CD! Again, don’t be fooled by the free shipping….

It was a memorable event. What about, Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero, so close to Pope Francis, in such an important event, followed by about 600 thousand young people present and millions of people on television?
It was very emotional and I think the guys have felt the weight of this great emotion on their shoulders and also of this great honor.
They were emotional, as we were, who followed them from afar. . . very touching and emotional.

Seeing them again causes shivering in me.
Of course they could not be presented to the world, the event was the World Youth Day, not IL VOLO, but they were there, present before the Pope, emotion to the stars!
Surely this experience will always remain in their hearts.
From that position they could see a tide of young people, united by moments of prayer and truly unique contemplation, the silence was impressive.

I am very happy that you all have also been able to enjoy the event live. By testing we saw that the TV2000 streaming channel was often stuck and so Pat did a search and saw that the EWTN channel was better for you.

Presenter = Yesterday at the vigil IL VOLOalso sang, let’s see how this performance went.
P = Some time ago we had met Pope Francis in a private audience and we gave him, an AVE MARIA, a special record, just for him.
I = Surely it was a great experience of life, both for our personal lives, and also for our career.
P = This was the perfect opportunity to understand how beautiful and important it can be, to share all kinds of music.
G = We can say that it was one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives.
It all passed very quickly, but it was an indescribable moment.
The boys were very serious, as it should be on these occasions.
They are never out of place, always appropriate to the event.
I was very proud that IL VOLO had this wonderful opportunity, it was an honor, and they certainly did not waste it.
These are the words of the boys, “If someone had told us that one day we would sing for the Pope, we would hardly have believed it . . . . Never stop chasing your dreams.”

Also this event was published: Tuesday, January 29 press conference of IL VOLO where they will exhibit their projects for the year 2019 and 2020 ……….. surely they also talk about the tour !!!!
But in the meantime our boys are certainly not resting.
Yesterday they left for PANAMA for the WYD event.
G = Just arrived at the Amsterdam airport, ready for this flight to Panama, about 12 hours, but it will be a magnificent experience. Follow us on this journey.
P = Boys, we are in Amsterdam, we will soon board the flight to Panama, because tomorrow we will sing in front of Pope Francis, for the World Youth Day. Hello.

Ignazio: Hi everyone! We’ve just wrapped up the shooting of “Musica Che Resta” video.
Gianluca: This Saturday we’ll experience a great emotion because we’ll sing a very special “Ave Maria” for Pope Francis in Panama.
Piero: As you know, when we’ll come back in Italy Sanremo Festival awaits us, to sing for the first time our new song. We can’t wait to present you, let you listen our new single “Musica Che Resta” on stage at the Ariston theater.
In fact, two days ago the filming of the new video ended, little is known of it, but it seems to have been made in Milan.
G= We are recording the video with a great director, Mauro Russo.
MR = Come on Gianluca, you cannot say that we are recording the video, now we are not doing anything.

I am very excited! We will see the boys sing in front of the Pope and to thousands and thousands of young people from all over the world. Simply fantastic!
At 6:30 pm (Panama time) today, the vigil in Panama will begin and the boys may sing.
Sunday at 8.00 am (Panama time) there will be Mass, where our boys will sing the Ave Maria.

Yes, it’s birthday time again for our youngest, curly-haired, member!
Gianluca will be 24 this year on Feb 11 – hard to believe they are growing up so quickly! Time sure flies when you are having fun? We are having fun, right? 🙂
Anyway, this year will be special again for Gian, as Sanremo will have just happened. Let’s hope he has more to celebrate than just his birthday this year.
