PIERO= But, it depends. Luckily, I personally have a passion for running, you know I like running marathons, so I take this opportunity to try to combine the two, visiting cities and running. So when I arrive in a city, I go down to the hotel lobby, to the concierge, and I get the itinerary, the route to visit a little, clearly not everything, but in 10 – 15 km you can visit a lot in a city. Then, when you’re on tour, you always have to preserve your voice, and it also depends on the climatic conditions you find in the places. But when we can, we all take the opportunity to visit the cities. This year I have to tell you that I was fascinated by Sydney, Australia, we spent three days there and we got to visit it, it was amazing. Then in South America we already know most of the countries, but clearly they are missing, for example I have never been to the pyramids in Mexico (Machu Picchu), that is one thing I miss, one day I will be able to go, but we have to organize the voyage. When you’re on tour, yes, we can see, but not like real tourists.
RED RONNIE= Well, the pyramids are beautiful, I’ve been there starting from Tolon and I went up, you know, there’s a lot of magic.
Do you know what? I have yet to edit the interview, but I hosted a friend of mine, a Unesco executive, with the director of Machu Picchu.
PIERO= But did you see what happened this year there in Machu Picchu? They had to close and some tourists were locked inside, a very particular thing happened, now I have to look into the matter, but a tour that I would love to do is Machu Picchu, Bolivia, all those strange places … the sea or the lake of salt? There’s that place there, help me…..(he means IL SALAR DE UYUNI in Bolivia).
RED RONNIE= Look Piero, if we organize… apart from that, finding one of Il Volo free is impossible……..but if we organize, we go to Machu Picchu with Unesco and with the director and then we can stay the night where no one can stay.
PIERO= But maybe!!
RED RONNIE= Then there are other sites where tourists cannot go, such as Abiseo (Rio Abiseo- Peru), there are the curanderos (natives of Peru) and we can take a tour like this.

Today, February 17th, as announced by Il Volo, a particular EP of ten songs is being released, completely intended for the public of Spain, Latin America and the United States.
Ten beautiful songs by Latin artists, sung in an excellent way by our Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca.

Furthermore, a new television program on Canale 5 hosted by Michelle Hunziker (she also presented House Party) was announced. The new program is titled: MICHELLE IMPOSSIBLE, Il Volo should be a guest in the episode of Wednesday 22 February, but we will keep you updated.
In addition, new dates continue to be added to the next tour. Yesterday two dates were added in Bulgaria also, and soon our loved ones will leave for the long South American tour.

On 21 January Il Volo was a guest in an episode of the Brazilian show CALDEIRAO DO MION presented by Marcos Mion.
The show was probably recorded before the Christmas holidays and only now broadcast.
Gianluca Ignazio and Piero are in excellent shape, dressed in informal clothes, beautiful, good and nice as always.

(I start by saying that I can’t speak Portuguese, but I’ll try to translate roughly the sense of the pleasant conversation between Il Volo and Marcos.)
After the beautiful presentation, Il Volo enters the scene and immediately sings Volare.

Then, Il Volo was interviewed via video by a Brazilian journalist for the newspaper Metropoles.
Or rather, Piero and Ignazio have been interviewed, because Gianluca is not present. The interviewer and also Piero speak in English, so I try to translate Ignazio’s answers, who replies in Portuguese.
To the first question, Ignazio replies that for Il Volo it has always been said that their music is a combination of opera and pop, but in truth they are three singers who sing traditional Italian music and traditional music from all over the world, such as in this last single where we sing the music of the great maestro Roberto Carlos, “Como vai voce”. They have always sung traditional music from all over the world, so that the new generation can get to know it.
To the third question, Ignazio says that it will be the first time they sing in Portuguese on tour, (Piero corrects Ignazio by saying that it is only a song in Portuguese) and as always there is a lot of emotion, but they are also happy because the pandemic had forbidden them to sing in Brazil.
To the fourth question, Ignazio replies that they haven’t had much time to visit Brasilia, they have only seen the hotels where they were staying, but they want to take some time to visit Brasilia, which is also the capital of Brazil.
At this point the interviewer apologizes to Piero but wants to have a word with Ignazio in Portuguese. So he tells Ignazio that he speaks Portuguese very well and understands it well and then asks him if he understood what the song “Como vai voce” means for Brazilian culture.
Ignazio replies that almost two months ago, they came to Brazil for a private event and the first thing he said to Piero was “I feel at home”, he has a strong connection with Brazil, because he had a sweetheart, now he doesn’t anymore. He had lived Brazil, not only in terms of tourism, but like the Brazilian people and he understood a lot about the sensitivity, the happiness, the naturalness of knowing how to live with little, he understood a lot about how they face life, it’s different, it reminds him a lot southern Italy, and perhaps for this reason he feel at home and have a strong connection with Brazil.
When asked next, Ignazio says that music can help to get through a difficult moment. Il Volo uses different languages, they’ve always done the Spanish language versions, because they have to create a connection with the people, it’s very important. Singing in other languages is not very difficult if there is training. To sing in Portuguese they had a Brazilian coach in Milan, and it wasn’t that difficult.
The only problem is that Ignazio learned Portuguese from Carioca (hence with a markedly different pronunciation), but it was nice, and so he asks if he has any advice for him?

To the following question the interviewer asks Ignazio if he loves samba and pagode (type of music) and Ignazio confirms that he loves samba and all Brazilian music, he says that he has listened to a lot of music of that kind.
The interviewer asks if there will be a version of Il Volo with pagode, so Piero asks what pagode is and Ignazio explains that it is like a typical Brazilian reggaeton.
Finally Ignazio sends a greeting to the fans in Portuguese, he says that they are very happy to come and give a concert in Brazil, especially after the pandemic, and will also come and sing in Portuguese for the first time, even if only one song. They thank a lot for the support of the fans, who are always very present.

The night of Christmas Eve was truly a magical night, a fantastic concert by Il Volo from Jerusalem enlivened the evening.

There is not a moment of rest for Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero. They returned on 29 November from Israel, arriving in Milan and in the evening of the same day they had a private event, a concert in the beautiful Milan Cathedral.

On 29 November 2018, exactly 4 years ago, Il Volo held a concert in the Milan Cathedral. The concert was planned by Mediolanum Bank and its founder Mr. Ennio Doris.
In this photo, you can see Mr. Ennio Doris and his wife in 2018 congratulating Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero. Mr. Doris has always admired the beautiful voices of Il Volo.
A year ago, on November 24, 2021, Mr. Ennio Doris died, and Mediolanum Bank, in memory of its founder, wanted this concert.
At the concert, only people with an invitation from Mediolanum Bank were present. The event was called: MUSIC IN THE HEART.
It wasn’t a simple concert, it was also done with a noble reason: a fundraiser, as communicated by the Mediolanum Foundation.
In the splendid setting of the Milan Cathedral, dear to the President Ennio Doris, Banca Mediolanum continues, in his memory and one year after his death, to support the Mediolanum Foundation.
The funds raised will be used to support the “Families in emergency” project to help 1,000 children thanks to donations that will be destined for Istituto Beata Vergine Addolorata and Associazione San Fedele, two historic realities in the Milan area, which are committed to restoring dignity and autonomy to vulnerable families.
Accommodation will be made available, foodstuffs and clothing distributed, treatments and medical supplies offered to Italian and foreign families in conditions of great hardship.

AMICI is a program where the kids who participate highlight their talent for singing and dancing, in short, a talent show. It is a program very popular with very young people.

As you have certainly noticed, our boys are dressed in rather strange clothes, for them, but you must understand that AMICI is a program very popular with very young people and therefore Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca have shown, in their clothing, that they are not three young in very serious clothes, but wanting to get closer to the tastes of young people.
Even though they only sang one song, I liked their attitude at the end of going among the AMICI participants.
These are young people who hardly listen to Il Volo and don’t go to their concerts, so I like that Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero try to get closer to this type of audience that otherwise wouldn’t even listen to them.
After a few days we saw two very different realities of Il Volo:
Classic, elegant, mature in the event in the Duomo in Milan.
Sporty, relaxed, youthful, on the TV show AMICI.
But their voices are always the same, the voices that only Il Volo can have!!!
Since Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca returned to Italy after the Australian tour, there has been a lot of new news that has brought many new things.
First of all, we recall that the boys had said that as soon as they returned to Italy they would prepare the Christmas event and for those who don’t remember, Il Volo will sing in Bethlehem, Palestine, in front of the grotto of the nativity.
This news had already been given by Il Volo during this year’s Porta a Porta(see the post Porta a Porta 2022 of 12/05/2022).
But where will this beautiful concert be broadcast? At the beginning it was said RAI1, but recently Mediaset has published this news:
“In prime time, on Canale 5, among the various appointments scheduled there is the one with a new concert that will have the three tenors of Il Volo as protagonists, the concert event of Il Volo will be broadcast on the evening of Saturday 24 December in prime time evening on Canale 5 and will mark the return of the three tenors in prime time.”
Mediaset also announces two event evenings with Il Volo, probably in 2023, but nothing is known about it.

And then, of course, as you already know, their new book was published:

I can tell you that I read it all in a few hours. It’s not very long, but really nice.
Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero have expressed their feelings with words that come directly from their heart, once again they make us understand the love for their families, they have carried out an introspective research with such humility. In a couple of steps I was moved.
I want to conclude this post with a sentence written by each of our beloved boys, in the new book:
PIERO:
“I am perfectly aware that I would not be who I am today, that I would not live this wonderful life, that I would not be able to enjoy the immense gift of doing what I love, were it not for my family……Each of my family members is an example for me, an inspiration, a model to look to to bring out the best in me.
A source of energy, when sometimes fatigue risks and has risked taking over.
A ray of sunshine on the grayest days.” ❤
IGNAZIO:
The last two years have not been easy at all: the pandemic and the loss of my father have contributed significantly to my anxiety about wasting time and an ever greater will to live. I have become more vulnerable ………… I know that from the outside I give the impression of being a light-hearted, cheerful person. The fact is that the job I do often carries with it a profound contradiction.” ❤
GIANLUCA:
“There were not only applause and successes, but also difficult moments, decisions that were not easy to make. And we did it together. If on the one hand the fact of being three meant the constant presence of two friends to refer to, two people who fully shared my hopes and my uncertainties, on the other it also meant always being a third of something and therefore risking never being able to fully express myself, because between us there is no frontman, we are three leaders and each in a different way.” ❤
