~VILLA ZANCHI-GRANDE AMORE

As we are all waiting for news from the boys, and for the moment everything is silent, I thought to translate this article that appeared immediately after the victory of Sanremo in the newspaper IL CORRIERE DELLA SERA that has so titled:

AFTER SANREMO, THREE MILLION CLICKS, AND WITH IL VOLO TAKE OFF VILLA ZANCHI.

On January 15th they made the filming of GRANDE AMORE, the video shot in Stezzano.

Some find them snooty for the classic style, the tuxedos and the voices set. Those who meet the three singers of Il Volo, triumphers in Sanremo, tell us instead that they behave like any three teenagers. At Villa Caroli Zanchi, in Stezzano, the trio spent a day, January 15, for the filming of Grande Amore. The video of the festival’s winning song has already totaled over three million views on YouTube. “They sang, sang classic arias, joked with models,” says Loris Olivato, managing director of the estate. There was the atmosphere of a happy company.

The movie (video) opens in the central hall. The boys are standing and light beams filter through the windows. It is a scenic effect because that day it was raining heavily. In the other rooms the scenes that shoot famous love films have been shot. There is Ghost with Ignazio Boschetto, the tenorino with the goatee, Bolognese, 20 years old, grappling with the processing of the terracotta pot with a girl who reminds us with the haircut, of Demi Moore. And to think that, six years ago, when they were launched by Antonella Clerici in Ti I leave a song, he was chubby, not at all sexy. “On the day the video was shot, he ate one tangerine after another,” says Olivato. They worked without interruption from 9 to 22.

A Gianluca Ginoble, from Abruzzo, 20 years old, has had the task of impersonating Spiderman.  The superhero descends from above, upside down, to kiss his beauty. Since the first is never good, he had to repeat the scene several times.

Piero Barone, the eyewear of the group, Sicilian, 21 years old, met the greatest difficulties. His piece, which recalls Back To The Future, was shot late in the evening under water(rain).   He can be seen, glistening and with a bow tie, while he comes across a rival to get his woman back.

The crew of IL VOLO for filming in Stezzano consisted of 35 people. To accompany them there was also the father of one of the three and their agent. On that day some students arrived at the villa and asked the singers for some autographs.  And  Olivato says they have proved to be very friendly. “They promised me that if they won Sanremo, they would come here to celebrate. Now – says Olivato – I was waiting for them to keep their promise.”

Sunday, December 31, in the newspaper the Arena,  appeared this article that updates us on the movie UN AMORE COSI’ GRANDE.   Here is the translation of the most interesting part.

GREAT SCREEN, THE LYRICA FLIES IN THE WORLD

While we are still discussing the fate of opera in Verona, the best part of the city of Verona, is ready to debut on the big screen with “UN AMORE COSI’ GRANDE” the film produced by the Verona A.C. Production by Michele Calì and Federica Andreoli.  It hopes to bring young people closer to the world of opera through a love story that promises to fascinate film and opera lovers of different latitudes.

Also on you tube appeared this video interviewing the main actress, Francesca Loy.

You can activate the simultaneous translator, however at the beginning questions are asked about the plot.  She says that she can not reveal much because the film has not yet come out.

It is a love story that takes place between St.Petersburg and Verona, two guys who meet and one of them is passionate about opera.

At minute 4.59 Francesca Loy answers questions about the Flight that I’m going to translate.

* Recall that also recite the three guys of IL VOLO, Ignazio Piero and Gianluca, winners of Sanremo in 2015.  Tell us a little gossip, how was acting with them, what types are they?

F= So, I’ll tell you, they are first of all very nice guys, just handy, not at all arrogant, they do not even seem famous.  You realize that when one evening I went out with Gianluca.  We went to Piper (a local in Verona) and he was very quiet, that is, very simple people.

It was exciting, because still hearing them sing live, it is an indescribable emotion.

* Are they as strong as they feel on television?

F = Yes, absolutely yes, they are very nice, all three, especially with Ignazio.  I laughed a lot, they are really sweet and very nice guys.

Il Volo – Celebrity Reactions! (and Tanti Auguri, to the King – from our 3 Princes!)

We all know our guys have had the pleasure and honor to sing, sing to, or sing for, some very special and honored celebrities and stars.  IVPerformances, a Twitter account, has put together a really cute video of our guys with some famous people, including Barbra Streisand and the latest with Sharon Stone.  They want people to watch and share their account.  So, in honor of their hard work, here you go!  It’s on You Tube….

Even though I know it’s staged and part of the act, it cracks me up every time I see it, when Barbra says “showoff!” to Ignazio!  Although, in this one, he sounds a little flat?  Sharon sure looks like she’s have a grand time!

As many of us know, January 8, is also the birthday of Elvis Presley!  It’s also the birthday of my first Italian crush and my dear friend’s husband!  Definitely a great day!  lol!  🙂

Here’s to you, Elvis, in honor of Gianluca’s version…this was record in Las Vegas.  It’s simple and beautiful.
