IL VOLO IN JUNE: FAMILY EVENTS by Daniela

So, I wanted to summarize separately all the events our guys attended but in family form and I would say to start with the wedding event of Piero’s brother, Francesco.
The wedding between Francesco and Rita took place on June 12th in Naro, here is a nice summary video.

At the beginning of the video the bride’s friend asks if Francesco will cry at the wedding and Piero responds like this:
PIERO= But Francesco doesn’t cry… (and we see the moment of the bride’s entrance into the church and Francesco who instead gets emotional)
RITA= But at least a tear, two…
PIERO= I’ve never seen him cry, I struggle to imagine him.
…….and instead Francesco gets emotional, indeed, because you know Piero, emotion plays bad tricks and you can’t control your heart….❤️
And here is Piero singing the Ave Maria and then signing the register as a witness to the marriage. 😍

Torpedine and the entire Ginoble family, including Claudia, were present at the wedding.
In the following video, there is the wait for the bride and groom to leave the church and you can clearly see Claudia turning and giving Gianluca a kiss.😍
As you may have understood, Ignazio and his family were not present at the wedding.
Piero and Gianluca singing MY WAY during the wedding party.

But even in the Boschetto household there was a reason to celebrate, in fact on June 15th Michelle turned 31, here she is while receiving a beautiful bouquet of red roses sent by Ignazio, I would say that Michelle is in great shape and her belly is now visible!!
I end the moment dedicated to Ignazio with these two short reviews dedicated to him.
In the first short video a vocal coach writes comments on Ignazio’s performance of Mia Martini’s song.
I translate the comments for you.

Ignazio Il Volo, Mia Martini sings, vocal coach Aldo Sabatini.

“Ignazio Boschetto sings Mia Martini’s song  E NON FINISCE MICA IL CIELO in an exemplary way, he manages to reach challenging notes with great confidence, projection and adding local distortions in line with the style of the song.
Sound projection and dynamics, top, top!
A challenging song that lingers several times on A4 and touches Bb4, he manages to get there in different ways, sometimes adding controlled vocal distortions and in line with the characteristic style of the song.
The confidence, projection and use of vibrato are synonymous with excellent vocal management and control.
Also from an interpretative point of view, in my opinion, he hits the song’s intention very well.”
In this second video, the same vocal coach analyses how Ignazio manages to reach certain notes, the song is THE SHOW MUST GO ON.

CLICK HERE to view the Facebook reel

How did Ignazio Boschetto reach those notes in the original key on the Queen song?
“How did Ignazio reach the notes with that sound? Yesterday we saw the singer who performed on the TV show LIKE A STAR was unable to do this same passage.
It is absolutely not a comparison or a confrontation between the two, I take this episode to explain something that could be useful to singers.
The reasons why Ignazio can do those notes are:
1-Vocal texture, this does not mean that if you are a baritone you cannot do those notes, but reaching them with that sound is not easy.
2- Ignazio did not think of bringing the chest voice up there, but he used mechanism one with consonances of mechanism two, therefore a sort of mix belt.
3- That sound is the result of talent, musical intelligence, training and technique, because that sound requires a certain muscular athleticism, therefore that sound, on that note is not for everyone, but if you understand how to lighten, channel the sound and project it or in any case get there without lowering the tone you can succeed.”
Well, what can I say, he made some beautiful compliments on Ignazio’s skills, what do you think?
Now I dedicate myself to Gianluca.
After the wedding in Naro, Gianluca and Claudia took advantage of it, since they were in Sicily to go to Taormina where the Film Festival was taking place.
Of course. Gianluca and Claudia also enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere in Taormina.
Here is Gianluca with a local group of musicians.
And here Claudia and Gianluca at the inevitable Bambar.
I would say that the Gianluca Claudia couple is working really well and I’m happy for them.😍
In June there was also a nice interview with Ercole Ginoble who proudly talks about his son Gianluca, here it is.

Gianluca Ginoble, pride of father Ercole: My son is an ambassador of Abruzzo

Interviewed by Domenico Ranieri at the Centro party in Roseto degli Abruzzi, he talked about the strong bond between the tenor of “Il Volo” and his homeland
“We show off our merchandise.” With these ironic words Ercole Ginoble, father of the famous tenor Gianluca of the trio “Il Volo”, talks about the indissoluble bond between his son and his Roseto. Originally from the hamlet of Montepagano, where he still lives with his family, Gianluca Ginoble is promoting Abruzzo in every corner of the world through his singing talent. His father Ercole himself proudly underlined this during the interview given to the editor-in-chief of the Center, Domenico Ranieri: “Gianluca is very attached to Roseto and Abruzzo and, through his activity as a musician, he makes our beautiful territory known throughout the world,” he said.
A commitment that is also reflected in the many television appearances on national networks, where the tenor never misses an opportunity to reiterate his origins: “Piero and Ignazio, the other two members of Il Volo, are Sicilian, a region much better known, for various reasons, than ours,” added Ginoble, “this is also because Abruzzo is not sold well, it is not promoted as it deserves.”
It is for this very reason that Gianluca chose to be an ambassador for his region. His father Ercole then told an anecdote: during a dinner in a restaurant in New York, where director Woody Allen was also present, Gianluca, when asked where he came from, referred to Montepulciano wine: “I am originally from Abruzzo, the region where Montepulciano is produced,” a product much appreciated by Americans.
Gianluca’s talent, his father always said during the interview, emerged from an early age: “I noticed that he was particularly in tune around the age of three, he repeated cartoon songs. Growing up, it was Andrea Bocelli’s music that captivated him: in the car he wanted to listen to it continuously.” At eight years old Gianluca joined a small choir in Roseto and began performing in summer recitals on the seafront or in evenings at the municipal villa. The turning point came with his participation in the Rai Uno talent show hosted by Antonella Clerici. From there, an extraordinary career began which, despite his young age, already boasts collaborations with artists of the caliber of Barbara Streisand and Sting.
Back to Piero, because June 24th was his birthday, Piero turned 32.

BUON COMPLEANNO PIERO!!!🎊🎂🎉❤️

Piero you are a charming, serious, intelligent man, an artist of excellent qualities and a good son.

You are strong, we love you!! ❤️

It was a nice roundup of events related to Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca and their families.
I want to assure you that no privacy has been violated, because what I have reported to you has been published on countless fan pages and also highlighted by the newspapers.
And now I hope that they have a restful July, here in Italy it is really very hot and the three of them deserve to relax their body and mind, recharge their batteries and dedicate themselves to their families.

IL VOLO TOUR 2025: ROMA – EBOLI – BARI- MESSINA by Daniela

The tour stop was highly anticipated in the Italian capital.
The beautiful reviews and enthusiastic words of the people who attended the first concerts had led the way and Rome was joyfully awaiting Il Volo.

IL VOLO ENCHANTS THE CAPITAL

Great success for the Roman leg of the tour: “Tutti per uno – Ad Astra live”.
Perfect synthesis of vocal power, passion, desire to give oneself completely to the public and to have fun, as only a few can do, in the name of the friendship that has accompanied them since they were children.
Today they are men, united by talent and the desire to continue growing, always facing new challenges, such as the new tour in Italian arenas “Tutti Per Uno – Ad Astra Live”.
Yesterday evening, January 21st, the Roman stage brought back to the stage of the Capital, after the summer success of the Baths of Caracalla, the unique voices of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, accompanied by the “Franciacorta” Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Edmondo Moses Savio.
Together in a perfect harmony of music and words.
Five large screens act as a backdrop. They punctuated with suggestive visuals a show enriched by lasers and plays of lights. A show within a show lasting over two hours.
On the stage of the Palazzo dello Sport for Il Volo the opportunity to celebrate 16 years of career, and the beginning was immediately a “masterpiece”.
Very rich lineup, with Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca who alternated performances together with moments as soloists, each bringing their own identity and personality.
They performed the songs from their first album of unreleased songs “Ad Astra”, such as the latest single “Tra le onde”. There was no shortage of great tributes, from Elton John to Claudio Villa, from Frank Sinatra to Simon & Gurfunkel. Emotion and shivers among the audience during the touching interpretation of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”.
Between applause and standing ovations, the trio also joked with the fans and sought their embrace, getting off the stage and immersing themselves in the crowd, with smiles and selfies. But everything always with their feet on the ground, without forgetting the origins, the beginnings and a heartfelt thank you to their manager, Michele Torpedine, who was also in the audience, under stage, listening to them. Then the heart-pounding grand finale with “Grande Amore”, the winning song of Sanremo in 2015. And Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca greet the Roman public with gratitude and with the promise of returning to the capital soon.
And now a series of photos by our friend Keisyuu who was enchanted by the concert!!

January 23 EBOLI

The concert is at Palasele.
We are in the province of Salerno, therefore in the Neapolitan area.
In this very famous area it is the “Neapolitan pastiera”, a typical dessert.

Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio fell from the sky tonight and tasted our masterpiece.🫠
What can I say, the guys certainly appreciated it!! 😋😋😋
Present at the concert was RADIO CITTA 105 which filmed and broadcast several videos of the show.
The show begins with two songs sung by Cecile who positions herself in front of the long black cloth, she sings with backing tracks, therefore without an orchestra. After Cecile’s two songs, the orchestra enters and positions itself, the Il Volo concert begins.

This report aired on SUD TV which I translated for you is also very nice.

Over two hours of great live music accompanied by the orchestra and special lighting effects, amidst the applause and hugs of the Campania public who filled the Palasele di Eboli last night for the highly anticipated Il Volo concert. The musical trio of young Italian tenors, winners of the Sanremo Festival, sang all the songs that characterized the success of their careers, presenting their latest great recording work AD ASTRA.
A European tour which last night included a stop in Eboli where the singer Cecile opened the concert, giving the go-ahead and assisting the great music of the trio: Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble.
“A path that will take us towards the stars”, said the three tenors from the stage as they presented the songs from the new album.
A great musical success last night which was fully booked at the Palasele in Eboli, thanks to the unique voice of the three tenors, in an event organized by Anni60 productions and which saw the general public singing and getting excited with one of the greatest and most important Italian musical groups in the world: Il Volo!
And ANNI 60 Production published these beautiful photos with this comment:
The enchantment of @ilvolomusic at the @palasele_official. ✨
The intertwining of their magnetic and powerful voices and the warmth of the Campania public will remain in the hearts of those who were there. ❤️

A medley and photos from Vurro Concerti, who posted this comment:
“A unique show full of emotions and talent ✨ Il Volo at the PalaFlorio in Bari.”
and Telebari published this nice review which I translate:
IL VOLO TRIUMPHS IN BARI WITH AN IMPECCABLE CONCERT. THE TRIO INVITES A CHILD TO DUET WITH THEM.
In recent months the concert calendar at the Palaflorio in Bari has been as rich as ever. Laura Pausini, Alessandra Amoroso, Tananai met and thrilled their target audience.
But when the three former child prodigies of the song, Il Volo, appeared on the bill, the opportunity arose to understand who their audience was.
And already from the early hours of the afternoon yesterday, January 24, near the sports hall of the Apulian capital, it was clear how varied the parterre of the fantastic three was.
Conservatory professors who have seen a boom in enrollments thanks to the “Volo phenomenon”, students hoping to pass their university exams after meeting their favorites, families who have found in Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio a common thread that could allow them to share an event of music and magic.
The portion of “no longer little girls” is particularly large but they have not put away their desire to sing at the top of their lungs; binoculars in hand, hoping to encounter a languid glance in one eye or a wink from another.
Two hours of impeccable show, not a false note, not a word out of place.
Thanks to the experience with the rock star stylist Nick Cerioni, the looks are very refined: shirt collars embellished with Swarovski crystals, studded Louboutins on the feet and slicked hair.
Solo performances alternate with the classic lineup, there is no shortage of Sanremo hits as well as homages to great artists on the world music scene, from Frank Sinatra to Queen, from Leonard Cohen to Franco Battiato.
Laser lights and LED videos accompany the unreleased songs from the album “Ad Astra”.
Puglia is generous and gives flowers, posters, hearts and many standing ovations.
The boys appreciate and pay homage to their historic manager Michele Torpedine (from Minervino Murge – Puglia), they are attentive to their youngest fans so much so that they notice the yellow-red sign of little Alessio Lapertosa, who begs to be able to duet with them, and the dream ends come true.
A world tour awaits the three boys of pop-classical music. The world acclaims them, Italy snubs them a bit, loves them a bit.
A little we would like to see them more uninhibited and spontaneous, like when they allowed us to play with their looks in Sanremo.
A really good article, even if I don’t agree with the ending, when he writes that Italy “would like them to be a little more uninhibited and spontaneous”…….I don’t understand what he means, or rather I understand that journalists believe that Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are perfect and would like to see some flaws in them, such as some false words or some bad words… these journalists really don’t understand that Il Volo is like that, simple and not at all set, but still polite and never over the top and this is certainly not what makes them less spontaneous, on the contrary!!!! Many rude kids should take example from this way of behaving!! 😉

How wonderful is this video of Piero among the people while he sings Vicinissimo. Adorable!!!
He sees his nieces, daughters of a cousin, Calogero, and Piero spoke to us about them in an interview, saying that he adores the little girls. He picks them up while singing!!! Piero’s grandmother and mother can be seen next to the granddaughters. Piero’s cousin posted this video with this comment:
“You are great, our pride…..and our little ones love you with the same intensity that you love them.❤️ We love you very much ❤️”
The mayor of Messina, Federico Basile posted this comment:
“🎶✨ Il Volo enchants PalaRescifina🎤
This evening the “Il Volo” concert gave unique emotions and unforgettable moments to all those present.
an administration, we are constantly committed to offering citizens and tourists from other cities events of great artistic and cultural value.
The objective is to promote Messina, while stimulating the development of the local economy and the tourist enhancement of the area.
In this way, we proudly strengthen the Messina, City of Music and Events brand.”
So the tour of the Italian arenas ended in the best possible way and I am extremely happy about it.
The newspaper articles that wrote well-deserved praise for Il Volo were also beautiful.
There is less than a month left until the start of Sanremo and the promos announcing the event are running on Italian television and here’s what you will surely appreciate!!
Speaking of Sanremo, I had already announced that Il Volo will feature a duet with Clara on the Cover evening on February 14th.
But now there is some more news, the song they will perform together has been announced and it is THE SOUND OF SILENCE, how exciting, I can’t wait!!
I’ve finished updating you on these last few days, but there’s one more piece of news, on Tuesday 28th January Il Volo will be at LE IENE, in the program TRAVELING WITH IL VOLO, there will be fun!!

And I’m done with this, but I’ll see you very soon!!!

Thanks from Gianluca

Another page has ended, and with it the Italian tour. I carry within me a mix of sensations and emotions that are difficult to describe. What does it mean to go on stage every night, in front of thousands of people? It is a journey that goes beyond voice and singing: it is an exchange, a ritual. The energy that is concentrated in a place is transformed into something palpable. You absorb it, keep it, make it yours, only to return it in a different, more intense, more alive form. Giving yourself completely, to the point of losing yourself, and then finding yourself in the emotion of those who listen to you: this is the greatest lesson I have learned in all these years of my career.
Being an artist is not pure ego, but transcendence. It is not just the desire to assert oneself or leave a personal mark, but an act of connection. It is building a bridge towards the universal, a space in which the boundary between the individual and the collective dissolves. Art, perhaps, is precisely this: a reflection of our ego, but also an attempt to overcome it, seeking what unites us, what makes us human.
Thank you all for being part of this process, for your presence which allows me to dig deeply, within myself and within us. Together, every evening, we created something that goes beyond words. This is the true gift.
Gianluca

When the Guys Go to Taormina by Susan

A year without our guys in Taormina is like a year without sunshine. More than any other concert, the die-hard fans look forward to Taormina. Taormina is that laid back place where we can walk around meet all the other fans and certainly bump into the guys along the way.
Taormina is the heart of Il Volo. I know professionally Verona would probably come out on top but, if you asked the guys what is your favorite place to perform, I think they will say it is “Taormina.” I think this is because they are at home in Taormina. Their families join them, and they enjoy the beauty of one of the most amazing Arenas in the world.
Last year I wrote a story called, “Il Volo Land” because Taormina truly belongs to IL Volo. The restaurants and shopkeepers look forward to Il Volo fans arriving and taking over the city. By the end of the concerts, the shopkeepers and restaurants need a rest. It is nonstop for at least a week! If you truly want to have the full experience of Il Volo you must see a concert at Taormina.
Until then I am missing Taormina as I know many of you are. So today I am going to remind you of all the beauty and love that was shared in June 2022 and how things are When the Guys Go to Taormina.

Taormina is one of those places you never forget! From her position on a hilltop, she looks down over the beautiful Ionian Sea and she constantly witnesses the eruptions of Mount Etna. In the evening the glow from Etna adds to her beauty and thrills us with a fiery display.

Tourist season in Taormina is almost year-round. The magnificent resort lures the jet set with its elegant hotels and spas. In the evening the streets are lined with shoppers who wouldn’t dream of leaving Taormina without one of her treasures. Perhaps a trinket from one of the many jewelry shops.
Taormina is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  It is a city where you get lost in your dreams but, it is so much more than a dream….
Every now and then, the tourists go home, and the city becomes a magical place! A place where groups of people come together in total alliance. It’s not about the elegant resorts or the fabulous restaurants. No, it’s so much more! It’s the time when Taormina is transformed into a magical place. Thousands of people in love with three handsome Italian men line the streets waiting for the first sight of their guys…. And then, Taormina becomes Il Volo Land….
Early on Saturday morning, New York time, I got a message from one of the fans that read, “Ignazio has arrived.” She told me the minute Ignazio was spotted, everyone stopped what they were doing, ran out of the shops and went in search of him. I found out that he can clear out every shop along a street in two minutes flat!!! Mr. Personality! Ignazio it seems you were in everyone’s picture and selfie on Instagram and Facebook.

Ignazio held down the fort and entertained the fans until Piero and Gianluca arrived!

When the guys come to town, they turn it upside down!
The guys take one of the most famous tourist spots in the world and turn it into IL Volo Land.
The fans start planning for this event as soon as the date of the concert is posted. Every hotel, guest house and apartment is booked long in advance of the concert.
They start to arrive about five days before the guys. They move around making their plans for how and where they will all meet, what dinners they will share, and they tell stories about past concerts that they have attended.
Many of the videos today are from June 2022 but I have also included some from past concerts.

While the guys were having lunch another member of the Il Volo family was out working the crowd and stealing the heart of the fans.

Luna would not dream of missing an opportunity to meet the fans. She works the streets very well and accepts the loving pats from all of her fans!
Dinner time is the time to meet!

Dinner at La Botte seems to be the one thing everyone can agree on!
So, who gets together? Some are new fans but mostly they are the old die-hard fans. They come back year after year!  These are not just fans they are exceptional people who love the guys and have followed them for fourteen years!
But, if you’re a new fan and you don’t know where to go, then take a tip from me!
Go to BAM BAR!
There’s always an interview with the guys and this time it was at BamBar.
Barbara di Palma met Gianluca and Piero and did a very nice interview which was televised on WEEKLY a show that is broadcast on Rai1!
Daniela as always did the translation of the video.
Daniela and I agree that Taorimina is a magical place where in addition to listening to good music you can meet Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca walking through the streets or eating a granita at Bambar.
As always, I advise you to read the interview and then listen to the video:
BARBARA: I moved, I’m in a symbolic place in Taormina. The greatest artists stop here to eat the famous granita, and so I thought, for our first episode, to try to organize a little surprise.
I wanted to do it triple, but in reality I managed to do it double: Gianluca Ginoble and Piero Barone … Il Volo !!
(From the studio there is a voice) “The friends of Il Volo, how wonderful,” and Francesca says, “I do the third. Ignazio’s part!
GIANLUCA: Look at Ignazio how beautiful he is, how Ignazio has changed.
PIERO: Can I ask you a question Ignazio?
BARBARA (she imitates Ignazio’s voice)Tell me Piero, tell me.
PIERO: For 10 years I have seen you with a goatee, you are more beautiful without a goatee.
BARBARA: This morning I took off my goatee to be younger, because I’m growing up (laughter)
GIANLUCA: Good morning from Taormina, from the wonderful Taormina.
WOMAN: (voice from the studio) Hi guys, what a nice surprise!
BARBARA: Tonight, and tomorrow night they have to sing, cheer the whole audience of the Greek Theater of Taormina, and you don’t know what’s behind the cameras, then I’ll show you (she refers that behind the cameras there are all the fans who are waiting).
PIERO: We weren’t ready for the unexpected, it was something suddenly …… (Piero jokes to make it clear that they knew the interview was there)
BARBARA: In fact, we came to eat a granita ….
PIERO: …. I go out in the morning wearing this (he shows the earphone to his ear, Gianluca has it too, precisely because there was the interview).
You got it, I feel comfortable wearing this!
GIANLUCA: You from the studio and you from home, for those who are watching us, what a surprise, look how wonderful ….. (Saretto del Bambar’s daughter arrives and brings them the slushes).
BARBARA: The famous granita. So, Federica, at this moment I am Ignazio. What’s your favorite flavor?
FEDERICA: Ignazio prefers peach and raspberry.
BARBARA: And they (Gian and Piero)
FEDERICA: They prefer almond and strawberry.
BARBARA: By now they are like little brothers to you.
FEDERICA: Of course, we have known them for many years.
GIANLUCA: We also greet the father, Saretto, who is watching us.
PIERO: Do you know what her father Saretto did?
One day for my birthday in Naro, two hours from here, he came as a surprise with the trolley of slushes, we were celebrating 4 or 5 years ago, and he arrived with the trolley of slushes. Saretto, a huge kiss (he sends a kiss).
GIANLUCA: We love you!

BARBARA: Taormina, you really have it in your heart, because it was also the first great theater that welcomed you, before the great success of Sanremo.
GIANLUCA: Yes, we were here in July 2014 (they won Sanremo in 2015), it was the first Italian concert, while our career started in 2009. Then, after the victory of the festival they started to know us also here in Italy, but it was weird for us.
BARBARA: The Greek Theater of Taormina believed in you, before the others!
GIANLUCA: Then, our musical genre is suitable for these prestigious and beautiful places like the Theater of Taormina, like the Arena of Verona. It’s always a pleasure to be able to sing and maybe represent our music, in such places ….. beautiful, let’s say.

BARBARA: In fact it is a curiosity that I had, that is, when you sing at the Arena of Verona or at the Greek Theater of Taormina, which have a truly unique setting, when you interpret the songs, does it give you an extra boost compared to a normal stage?
PIERO: It is clear, having the awareness of singing in a prestigious place, makes us feel privileged, sharing our music in these beautiful places, especially in Italy, but also in other places, in America, in Japan, we try not to lose never that emotion, that desire to be amazed and perhaps this, after 13 years of career, is the reason why, when we go on stage, we always feel the same sensation.
BARBARA: Instead you see here, your audience on the street following you … tell me Carolina (the woman from the studio)
CAROLINA: I was actually listening to the stories about the various tours and I was wondering what was the stage that they didn’t do, but that they would like to do …. where?

PIERO: In Italia?
CAROLINA: Even abroad, all over the world.
GIANLUCA: Look, there is a place where we would love to sing and it is the Baths of Caracalla (in Rome, where the concert of the 3 tenors was performed), and therefore it is not very far and it is a magical place ….
MAN: (from the studio) and then you come here to Weekly ….
GIANLUCA: Absolutely, then we come to you, but we invite you to one of our concerts, let us know where you want to come, it would be nice …
CAROLINA: Where can we come?
PIERO: Let’s start from Italy, we will sing in Taormina, Agrigento in the Valley of the Temples, Torre del Lago, and many other concerts. Then we move to America, Japan and after 10 years, we will finally return to Australia.
We had two and a half years off, finally it seems that everything is back to normal.
After two and a half years we have planned a tour of around 100 concerts and so we are loaded.
BARBARA: I don’t know if you have heard, but the people behind us speak the languages of half the world.
GIANLUCA: Yes.
BARBARA: Two women from Brazil came to Taormina for their concert.
MAN: (from the studio) I wanted to ask Piero and Gianluca something, a hot comment, Ignazio is good though, is he getting along as a correspondent? (He means Barbara in the part of Ignazio)
GIANLUCA: Ignazio gets away with it, yes.

PIERO: Can I tell the truth?
MAN: Sure!
PIERO: I called Ignazio, and he answered the third call and I said: “Igna, where are you? Maybe we need to do an interview, there is a live broadcast on RAI1”
And he: “You do it, I’m sleeping.”This is reality! (laughs).
GIANLUCA: It’s not true, he’s kidding!
PIERO: He went to sleep late, tonight he has to sing, he also has to rest.
BARBARA: I haven’t tasted the granita yet. Good, peach and raspberry.
CAROLINA: Next stop?
BARBARA: This evening and tomorrow evening the Greek Theater of Taormina.
PIERO: Do you know what the next step is?
In a week we will have the honor of singing for Pope Francis at the world meeting of families on June 22nd. So, see you on June 22nd.
BARBARA: And a few days ago, you interpreted our hymn in a way that always excites us a lot, with the celebration of June 2nd, and we have a little piece, right Carolina and Fabio?
CAROLINA: Sure, let’s watch it, let’s watch this video of June 2nd with you protagonists. Thanks to the friends of Il Volo.

How well do the guys know Saretto the owner of BAM BAR. This is a picture from 2018.

After the interview, the guys walked around met fans and just enjoyed themselves until it was time for the concert!

When night falls, the Concert begins.

The magnificence of Taormina becomes even more apparent at night fall! The ruins are lit, and the fans are in line waiting to enter the Ancient Greek Theater. The main attraction in Taormina is the Ancient Greek Theater. Built for the most part of brick it seems more likely that it is Roman rather than Greek.  The plan and arrangement are in accordance with the Greek style rather than Roman. It is most likely that the present structure was rebuilt over the foundations of an older theatre of the Greek period.
The theater is frequently used for operatic and theatrical performances and for concerts. The greater part of the original seats have disappeared, but the wall which surrounded the whole cavea is preserved. In most ancient theatres only traces of the original remain but here they are preserved in an uncommon state of integrity. From the fragments of architectural decorations, we learn that it was of the Corinthian order, and richly ornamented. Some portions of a temple that are visible were converted into the church of San Pancrazio.
There are many Festivals that take place in this theater. One you will remember is the Taormina Film Fest in which Il Volo performed in 2021.
The fans have arrived and assembled, and the concert begins.
The guy’s solos are always a major part of the concerts! People try to guess what they will sing but most times they’re wrong. For this World Tour the guys chose three different songs. Let’s say we were all surprised by the choices. But, without a doubt, they were magnificent choices and fabulous solos!

You may not be aware of it, but Piero has been studying the opera Cavalleria Rusticana for the last two years and he made his debut performance in this concert with the aria “Mamma, quel vino è generoso.” The fact that he chose to sing it in Sicily does not escape me. The opera is set in Sicily. Pietro Mascagni, is the Composer. The Italian libretto is by Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti and Guido Menasci.

Ignazio always thinks long and hard about what he will sing. For him every solo has a deep meaning. “All By Myself” is a song that Ignazio sang during quarantine. Loved it then love now!

Gianluca’s choice of “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” needs no explanation. Gianluca said it all before he sang it. He dedicated it to someone special in the audience. Wanna guess who?
Two beautiful songs from the concert….

After the concert, it was back on the streets. Most of the fans went to BAM BAR for Granita!

Some fans like sisters Sabrina and Jessica went to La Botte for dinner and ran into Ignazio and Piero.

In the afternoon Gianluca ran into the girls and asked them if they were twins! No, they’re not twins. But they are very lovely Sicilian girls!
The next day everyone was back on the street, and it started all over again!

For some it was time to look around and to shop!

For others is was about the beauty of the city!

As you can see this story was about the fans, the images and the music! The guys love the fans!  The fans are legendary! They will go down in history alongside Il Volo because of their dedication to them. There were two performances which I’m sure they all attended. As I’m sure they attended Sound Check and Meet & Greet!.
As to the interview, it was Gianluca and Piero’s interview. Ignazio didn’t take part in the interview because he was too tired from meeting all the fans while Gianluca and Piero were sleeping!
You’ve gotta sleep sometimes!
For now, it’s over but the fans will wait for the next announcement that the guys will be in Taormina and the process will start all over again. See you all next time in Il Volo Land When the Guys Go to Taormina!.
Hey guys we’re always waiting for you at Taorrmina!
As always, Daniela did the translation of the video. And it certainly was beautiful. Thank you Daniela!

VIDEO TRANSLATIONS by Daniela

Il Volo arrived in Taormina.

Taormina is not only a beautiful place, but also a place in full swing when there is IL Volo, a magical place, where in addition to listening to good music you can meet Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca walking through the streets or eating a granita at Bambar.

And it is here that Barbara di Palma met Gianluca and Piero and gave them a short and nice interview for the WEEKLY, a new program broadcast on RAI1.
BARBARA = I moved, I’m in a symbolic place in Taormina. The greatest artists stop here to eat the famous granita, and so I thought, for our first episode, to try to organize a little surprise.

I wanted to do it triple, but in reality I managed to do it double: Gianluca Ginoble and Piero Barone … Il Volo !!

(from the studio a voice “The friends of Il Volo, how wonderful.”) and I do the third. 😁
GIANLUCA = Look at Ignazio how beautiful he is, how Ignazio has changed.😁
PIERO = Can I ask you a question Ignazio?
BARBARA(she imitates Ignazio’s voice) Tell me Piero, tell me.😁
PIERO = For 10 years I have seen you with a goatee, you are more beautiful without a goatee. 😁
BARBARA = This morning I took off my goatee to be younger, because I’m growing up (laughter) 😁
GIANLUCA = Good morning from Taormina, from the wonderful Taormina.
WOMAN = (voice from the studio) Hi guys, what a nice surprise!
BARBARA = Tonight and tomorrow night they have to sing, cheer the whole audience of the Greek theater of Taormina, and you don’t know what’s behind the cameras, then I’ll show you (she refers that behind the cameras there are all the fans who are waiting).
PIERO = We weren’t ready for the unexpected, it was something suddenly …… (Piero jokes to make it clear that they knew the interview was there)😁
BARBARA = In fact we came to eat a granita ….
PIERO = ….. I go out in the morning wearing this (he shows the earphone to his ear, Gianluca has it too, precisely because there was the interview).
You got it, I feel comfortable wearing this !! 😁
GIANLUCA = You from the studio and you from home, for those who are watching us, what a surprise, look how wonderful ….. (Saretto del Bambar’s daughter arrives and brings them the slushes).
BARBARA = The famous granita. So, Federica (Saretto’s daughter), at this moment I am Ignazio.
What’s your favorite flavor?
FEDERICA = Ignazio prefers peach and raspberry.
BARBARA = And they (Gian and Piero)
FEDERICA = They prefer almond and strawberry.
BARBARA = By now they are like little brothers to you.
FEDERICA = Of home, we have known them for many years.
GIANLUCA = We also greet the father, Saretto, who is watching us.
PIERO = Do you know what her father Saretto did?
One day for my birthday in Naro, two hours from here, he came as a surprise with the trolley of slushes, we were celebrating 4 or 5 years ago and he arrived with the trolley of slushes. Saretto, a huge kiss (he sends a kiss).
GIANLUCA = We love you!
BARBARA = Taormina, you really have it in your heart, because it was also the first great theater that welcomed you, before the great success of Sanremo.
GIANLUCA = Yes, we were here in July 2014 (they won Sanremo in 2015), it was the first Italian concert, while our career started in 2009. Then, after the victory of the festival they started to know us also here in Italy, but it was weird for us.
BARBARA= The Greek Theater of Taormina believed in you, before the others!
GIANLUCA = Then, our musical genre is suitable for these prestigious and beautiful places like the Theater of Taormina, like the Arena of Verona. It’s always a pleasure to be able to sing and maybe represent our music, in such places ….. beautiful, let’s say.
BARBARA = In fact it is a curiosity that I had, that is, when you sing at the Arena of Verona or at the Greek Theater of Taormina, which have a truly unique setting, when you interpret the songs, does it give you an extra boost compared to a normal stage?
PIERO = It is clear, having the awareness of singing in a prestigious place, makes us feel privileged, sharing our music in these beautiful places, especially in Italy, but also in other places, in America, in Japan, we try not to lose never that emotion, that desire to be amazed and perhaps this, after 13 years of career, is the reason why, when we go on stage, we always feel the same sensation.
BARBARA = Instead you see here, your audience on the street following you … tell me Carolina (the woman from the studio)
CAROLINA = I was actually listening to the stories about the various tours and I was wondering what was the stage that they didn’t do, but that they would like to do …. where?
PIERO = In Italia?
CAROLINA = Even abroad, all over the world.
GIANLUCA = Look, there is a place where we would love to sing and it is the Baths of Caracalla (in Rome, where the concert of the 3 tenors was performed), and therefore it is not very far and it is a magical place ….
MAN = (from the studio) and then you come here to Weekly ….
GIANLUCA = Absolutely, then we come to you, but we invite you to one of our concerts, let us know where you want to come, it would be nice …
CAROLINA = Where can we come ???
PIERO = Let’s start from Italy, we will sing in Taormina, Agrigento in the Valley of the Temples, Torre del Lago, and many other concerts. Then we move to America, Japan and after 10 years, we will finally return to Australia.
We had two and a half years off, finally it seems that everything is back to normal.
After two and a half years we have planned a tour of around 100 concerts and so we are loaded.
BARBARA = I don’t know if you have heard, but the people behind us speak the languages of half the world.
GIANLUCA = Yes.
BARBARA = Two women from Brazil came to Taormina for their concert.
MAN(from the studio) I wanted to ask Piero and Gianluca something, a hot comment, Ignazio is good though, is he getting along as a correspondent? (He means Barbara in the part of Ignazio)
GIANLUCA = Ignazio gets away with it, yes.
PIERO = Can I tell the truth?
MAN = Sure!
PIERO = I called Ignazio and he answered the third call and I said:
“Igna, where are you? Maybe we need to do an interview, there is a live broadcast on RAI1”
And he: “You do it, I’m sleeping”
This is reality! (laughs).
GIANLUCA = It’s not true, he’s kidding!
PIERO = He went to sleep late, tonight he has to sing, he also has to rest.
BARBARA = I haven’t tasted the granita yet. Good, peach and raspberry.
CAROLINA = Next stop?
BARBARA = This evening and tomorrow evening the Greek Theater of Taormina.
PIERO = Do you know what the next step is?
In a week we will have the honor of singing for Pope Francis at the world meeting of families on June 22nd. So see you on June 22nd.
BARBARA = And a few days ago, you interpreted our hymn in a way that always excites us a lot, with the celebration of June 2nd, and we have a little piece, right Carolina and Fabio?
CAROLINA = Sure, let’s watch it, let’s watch this video of June 2nd with you protagonists. Thanks to the friends of Il Volo.
(the video begins where Il Volo sings the Italian National Anthem)
And here they are Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio, shaking hands with our President Mattarella.
Very proud of them !! ❤❤❤
And now I am translating a video that aired on RAI 1 on 07 June. But first I have to give a long explanation, so that you can see and rate this nice video without misunderstandings.First of all, I’ll explain who Drusilla Foer is.At the registry office, Drusilla Foer responds to the name of Gianluca Gori: photographer, painter, singer and actor originally from Florence, one day, out of nothing, he created this character that soon became a web phenomenon. Her character is liked, because she is elegant, refined, is not coarse and does not show parts of the body (as many showgirls do), in short, it represents a little elegance that often, in many programs, is left aside to make room for voices more and more screaming and using vulgar terms and elegance has given way to transparencies and many centimeters of exposed skin and flesh.
Drusilla this year was co-presenter for one evening in Sanremo and was very successful.
Now she has been entrusted with this small 5-minute column entitled “Almanac of the day after” in which Drusilla has given space to “The enthusiast of the day after”, that is a small space where already famous people are invited , but pretending to be unknown.
In the second episode it was the turn of  Il Volo and Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio were very good at keeping up with the game.
Drusilla interviews the boys giving them little space to explain and she ridicules their answers, as often people unknown to the world of entertainment have to undergo in their first approaches with interviews.
With all this premise, I am now translating to you what has been said.

DRUSILLA = Here we are with our guests:  PIERO …. and then … Piero, who is from Naro, right?
PIERO = Yes.
DRUSILLA = Where is Naro located?
PIERO = In Sicily, in the province of Agrigento.
DRUSILLA = Very good.
Ignatius instead?
IGNAZIO = I was born in Bologna, even if it doesn’t seem like it ….
DRUSILLA = This story is long ….
IGNAZIO = No, it’s short, that’s enough!
DRUSILLA = Enough … good.
Instead, you will be Gianluca.
GIANLUCA = I’m the Abruzzese of the group.
DRUSILLA = Ah, Abruzzo.
GIANLUCA = From Roseto Degli Abruzzi.
IGNAZIO = Enough!
DRUSILLA = Very good.
So guys I am truly enchanted by this common passion of yours. Let’s summarize a little. Do you travel the world always together?
GIANLUCA = Yes, we take many flights !! 😁😁
DRUSILLA = Because you travel far away? 😁 Not only from Abruzzo to Molise 😁 (these are the two neighboring regions)
GIANLUCA = We get together every now and then, we have many dreams, we hope to ….
DRUSILLA = How nice, that is, you go to the places and sing in the places where you go to work.
IGNAZIO = We have brought some photos.
DRUSILLA = Do you have any photos?
(On the screen there is the photo of the video “Ecstasy of Gold” that they shot in Sardinia)
IGNAZIO = Here we are in Texas 😁 (before Texas he says in a low voice Sardinia).
DRUSILLA = In Texas, and you go to Texas dressed in the blue suit?😁
GIANLUCA = With the blue suit, we sing in the middle of the sand. 😁
DRUSILLA = Ah, so really ??
PIERO = We are afraid to get a tan.
IGNAZIO = You know why, now all these social networks are in fashion …
DRUSILLA = Are you afraid that there is someone taking pictures of you? But who knows you !!!! 😁😁😁
GIANLUCA = Look at those beautiful smiles. (There is a photo with them at the Arena and it is wet on the ground because it rains)
DRUSILLA = How cute, where are you in the pool? 😁
PIERO = No, we had just left the dentist, we wanted to show our teeth! 😁
DRUSILLA = Then what’s up (the photo changes, is made in Japan). Ah, how beautiful, but look, where are you here? In Molise, in the Marche (other region)
IGNAZIO = I think we are in America.
GIANLUCA = No, here we are in Japan.
DRUSILLA = In Japan, of course I recognize Japanese architecture! 😁
I hope that this dream of music will come true, maybe you will become international stars.😁
GIANLUCA = We would like to win Sanremo!
DRUSILLA = Ah Ah, but what are you interested in Sanremo (as if to say that it is something unattainable). 😁
But have you ever sung with a real pianist? 😁
Or do you just use Karaoke backing tracks? 😁
IGNAZIO = Sometimes.
DRUSILLA = Little though, would you like to try? I have a pianist, he’s excellent, his name is Maestro Di Leo.
IGNAZIO = Let’s say that in Japanese karaoke, there is no piano available. 😁
PIERO = He is very elegant.
DRUSILLA = He is very elegant, I have forced him to dress well.
PIERO = And how are we dressed?
DRUSILLA = Very good, very happy.
GIANLUCA = Thanks for giving us this chance.
DRUSILLA = Come on guys, let’s go to the piano.
Don’t be intimidated, I know that the first time at the piano, it upsets you a little. 😁
IGNAZIO = We can sing you something …..
DRUSILLA = What would you like to sing?
IGNAZIO = …… that puts us at ease ?? 😁
DRUSILLA = Yes.
IGNAZIO = One of our favorite artists has always been Jimmy Fontana. (Il Mondo)
DRUSILLA = Ah!
PIERO = See, we have this in common, we like the same musical genre, we sing the same songs ….
DRUSILLA = Beautiful, beautiful …
PIERO = We like the same artists …
DRUSILLA = But this beautiful thing (and then pretends to get bored and fall asleep) 😁
GIANLUCA = We are guys from other times! 😘
DRUSILLA = Well, very cheerful!
IGNAZIO = Do you start singing?
DRUSILLA = What song would you like to sing? I really like Jimmy Fontana
IGNAZIO = Since we talked about travel, places ….
PIERO = You know IL MONDO?
DRUSILLA = IL MONDO, if I don’t remember the words can you suggest them to me ???
PIERO = I suggest them to you.
DRUSILLA = And the hue ??
Come on guys don’t worry, how it comes it comes … 😁
IGNAZIO = But we follow you …😁
DRUSILLA = Yes, come on, come on …
(The song begins, Drusilla pretends not to know the words and Piero suggests them to her, then at the refrain IL VOLO brings out all their voices and amazes Drusilla who is offended for having been deceived) 😁😁
GIANLUCA = Enough, (he turns to Ignazio) We understand that you are good.
DRUSILLA = Not good ….. the technique needs to be changed a little, the emission is a little scarce ….😁😁
PIERO = Two more days of karaoke …
IGNAZIO = I miss karaoke in Japan.
DRUSILLA = No, guys, study! 😁
GIANLUCA = You seem a little annoyed … are you annoyed by any chance?
DRUSILLA = No, imagine,…. one two and three, out of the studio ……. come here with coaxing …. but please go far …. go out ….
IGNAZIO = We salute the piano teacher.
PIERO = We hope to see you again soon.
DRUSILLA(to Piero) What goodbye, stop it …. (to Gianluca) goodbye ….. (to Ignazio) go to karaoke ….
IGNAZIO = But we go often …
DRUSILLA = …. to karaoke in Japan, especially you, you are disgusting, go ….. (Ignazio approaches her)
Security !!
IGNAZIO = Shall we do a duet? 😁
DRUSILLA = What a duet, but go do it with Barbra Streisand !! 😁
IGNAZIO= We did it …..😁
DRUSILLA = But go away …… arrogant …. gne gne gne ….they travel …. rude … but who sent them here? ….. I’d like to know where is the casting one …..😁
What can I say, they were all very good at making this pungent irony.
Even the articles in the newspapers wrote that Drusilla was very good and also Il Volo who lent himself to this game with great self-irony.The day after the broadcast, Il Volo published the photo together with DRUSILLA with this comment:“It was a real pleasure to participate in the ‘Almanacco del giorno dopo!’ Thank you so much @drusillafoer for hosting us!”
And now the last video I translate for you, a very important video, the news that Il Volo will be at the World Meeting of Families 2022 in the Vatican on June 22nd.

GIANLUCA = Hello everyone, we are very happy and excited to come to Pope Francis’ home and celebrate the World Meeting of Families together with the families of Rome and our families.
PIERO = On that day we will witness the importance of the strength of the support of our families in our life.
IGNAZIO = I will personally take my mother and my sister.
PIERO = I will bring mom and dad, my sister Mariagrazia and my brother Francesco, and we can’t wait to be able to hug Pope Francis.
GIANLUCA = I will come with my family, we are numerous, but the best thing is that I will be able to bring my grandfather Ernesto who, at the age of 88, will be able to shake hands with Pope Francis. These are the most important things, the most beautiful emotions in life, like a mother who is a refuge, a father who is a guide, and this is really the importance of the family.
IGNAZIO = In all these years we have always reiterated how important our families are and are still important to us, they have been like a pillar for our careers, like a lighthouse in the middle of the ocean, here, a meeting point.
So, we are really happy to be able to share this moment with them.
PIERO = In addition to our families, we will also bring our music.
See you on June 22nd. Hugs to all!
GIANLUCA = See you very soon!
IGNAZIO = Ciao!
As always, I am very happy with what Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca have said in these videos.
I hope you liked the translations and shed a little light on what was said by them.

JUNE AND JULY FULL OF EVENTS by Daniela

After the June 5th concert in the Verona Arena, there were many new things.
But first of all, I want to start with a photo of the concert I promised you, to show you where the families of the boys were during the evening.

(Please click on the photo to view a larger version.)

Concert audience showing where the parents were sitting in the front.

On June 23, Gianluca Ginoble went to visit the Vatican museums. Beautiful museums, full of works of art that are envied all over the world.

Gianluca in the Vatican museums accompanied by a member of the Swiss Guard, two priests and two young women.

Gianluca was accompanied by two young women. One of them, Nicole, was considered Gian’s new “girlfriend”, but after this episode, there was no more gossip about the couple. In the photo above, Nicole is the girl in the light floral dress.
Gianluca, inspired by the environments, also sang some verses of the Ave Maria. It was wonderful to hear
Gianluca’s voice resound in the beautiful Vatican rooms.
Piero’s birthday was on June 24th. Surely you have all seen the numerous and beautiful photos, also because the birthday party lasted two days.
On the evening of June 23, to arrive at midnight, there was a nice “party in white”, where all the guests were dressed in white. But how beautiful were Piero and Gianluca in white?

Among the numerous guests, including Torpedine and Barbara.
Great justified absentee, Ignazio, who was in Brazil, seems to be in the company of a damsel.
Here, we say, “If they are roses, they will bloom”. 😉

There was a lot of fun, the party took place in Sicily.

Look what a nice gift Gianluca gave to Piero !!
The three hands crossed, really beautiful and meaningful.

The party continued throughout the 26th day together with friends and family.

And then also in Taormina!!

…………. and could not miss Bambar and Saretto, with its excellent granitas!!

Piero also went to a wedding, but I think it’s wedding of his a friend.

On July 5, however, a little friend of ours we met during the concert dedicated to Morricone: Julian Iorio, was interviewed for the broadcast DEDICATED on Rai 1 and Ignazio Boschetto intervened during the interview.
IGNAZIO = Julian, how are you?
Meanwhile, I wanted to say thank you for keeping me company on the Arena stage, it was great to share the stage with you, you were appreciated by everyone, ah, what have you done !!
I send you a hug, a greeting and we hope to see you soon, there will be no lack of opportunity. Bye!
INTERVIEWER = Thanks to Ignazio Boschetto from IL Volo!!
JULIAN = Hi Ignazio!!
INTERVIEWER = He is your colleague.
Listen but what do you feel when you sing and play with these great musicians?
What do you feel?
JULIAN = Pleasure, much pleasure, because Ignazio, by now, we have known each other for a long time and we love each other, so I feel safe with him.❤
INTERVIEWER = Tell us something, but are you a little afraid, before performing, or are you really calm?
JULIAN = So, I was excited, but I knew that
I had mum and dad behind the scenes, and Ignazio by my side, and the whole orchestra was behind me picking me up. (he means that the orchestra was supporting him)😁❤
INTERVIEWER = Let’s review that moment together now, come on.
(here begins a short video of the fantastic performance of Ignazio and Julian)
How wonderful, this was a concert at the Verona Arena, dedicated to the great maestro Ennio Morricone.

On July 9, Il Volo released a video where they perform Grande Amore, with Brazilian singer Paula Fernandez.
”Grande Amore” video with the talented @paulafernandes has just been released and we hope you enjoy it! Watch it on YouTube!

Do you remember when I wrote you that the boys were in Rome at Villa Borghese for the shooting of a video? They were used in this video.
Did you like this performance paired with Paula?
Feel free to tell me your opinion.

But on July 9, this short video was also released, from the Facebook page of the “Frasassi Caves”, with the comment:

What can I say, many events have filled the days of our guys.
Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca are back in a great way, they don’t have a moment’s break, and the three concerts in East Europe were great. Very good because as fans, we suffer when we don’t see or hear them for a long time.
I must say that the latest announcement, the one relating to the Frasassi Caves, gives me the chills, I just want to see what they will do in that beautiful context, it will be fantastic.
I can’t wait, what about you ??
