MARCHE IN SHOP WINDOWS and MORE by Daniela

On July 30th, during the event: MARCHE IN SHOP WINDOWS, the Cassero D’Argento award was presented.
It is an award that the Marche region awards every year to the citizens of the Marche who distinguished themselves during the year. The Cassero represents the fortification that was once the city gate.
Le Marche is a region bordering Abruzzo and is the region where the Frasassi caves are located.
This year, among the winners, there was also Il Volo. Collecting the prize were Gianluca Ginoble and Michele Torpedine. In the following video we will hear the motivation for the award.
MAN = Cassero D’argento 2021 international award to: IL VOLO.
(Gianluca and Torpedine go up on stage)
GIAN = (to Torpedine) Ignazio, you are old !!! 😁😁(laughs)
Good evening everyone and thank you.
MAN = Let’s get off to a good start ☺
Collecting the prize: Michele Torpedine and Gianluca Ginoble, that needs no introduction.
WOMAN = Who rewards?!!
MAN = The president of the Marche Region was particularly keen to deliver the prize: Francesco Acquaroli who is here with us.
Good evening president.
WOMAN = (reads the motivation) They are the group of Italian love songs, a success that never sets. Through their music, they interpret songs of the Italian and international tradition, with a classic style that completely revisits the concept of pop and modern.
After the overwhelming victory in Sanremo 2015, with the song Grande Amore, a song that was then confirmed third place in the Eurovision Song Contest of the same year, the group has consolidated its success to date with six studio albums under their belt.
GIAN = Thanks ! I’m so happy to be here.

Pensive Gianluca

MAN = I would start with the manager for a moment.
This is a number 10 night (the best).
They (Il Volo) score goals, translated in terms of international successes, but behind “the tips” (ie who scores goals), there is the number 10, there is the director who puts the great artists in the conditions of get the results.
GIAN = Torpedine is our Mancini, practically. (Mancini is the coach of the Italian football team that won the European Championships last month)
MAN = Exactly, that’s where I wanted to go. Does this parallelism fit, or does it not? There is talent, there is good work …
TORPEDINE = That’s how it is in football.
In the case of Il Volo, there is a good atmosphere together, things are thought together, indeed, I must say that many ideas, I steal them from them, and then maybe, I develop them well.
But it’s a nice team, we are all together.
GIAN = We are a cohesive group.
MAN = (to Torpedine) When did you start with them, did you imagine they would come to these moments? I think of the Verona Arena and I still shiver, because you enchanted the world on that occasion (he refers to the Morricone tribute).
TORPEDINE = Seeing them at: TI LASCIO UNA CANZONE, everything could be imagined except this.

Michele Torpedine with a laughing Gianluca

MAN = That is, Torpedine, the first impact was NO, we are not there!
TORPEDINE = I was sitting in front of the TV, I saw these three phenomenon children and I thought: let’s see for a moment …. they reminded me of the three tenors when they were small, they had the same size more or less, in the voice.
Then growing up, they put their talent, because when there is the material, it is easy to do our job, it is more difficult when there is not.
MAN = Listen Gianluca, I am thinking of the Verona Arena, but in how many wonderful places in the world have you sung.
To the caves (Frasassi), what effect did this enchanting place have on you?
GIAN = First of all, I am Abruzzese, but I particularly love the Marche (a region bordering Abruzzo), also because I am often in San Benedetto (a town in the Marche) which is half an hour from my home, or Civitanova (other town), and I love this wonderful land, let’s say that I also feel a little bit from the Marche region. (applause)
MAN = We are pleased.
GIAN = I am from Abruzzo DOC (it is the brand that means of controlled origin and is placed on local products), but also a little from the Marches.
I thank all those who have given us the opportunity to be able to perform in such a magical place (Frasassi) one of the most beautiful places in the world and not only in Italy, and that we really want to bring it also internationally, even if not it certainly needs introduction, but it is such an important place, so magical, with the music of Ennio Morricone sung by us, it is certainly a way to bring the vision (of the caves) to as many people as possible. So we are really proud of this work we have done with the Region (Marche) and thanks also to the President (of the Marche region)
MAN = Above all.
GIAN= Above all.
MAN = Rightly, the President wanted to be next to you right now.

Gianluca on stage

WOMAN = So President, you are in charge of tourism, these guys (Il Volo), are not from the Marche region, but they came to the Marche, to shoot a video of theirs, as a promotion of their world tour.
PRESIDENT = First of all, good evening everyone.
Let’s say that ours is an extraordinary region, and I believe that, discovering it more and more every day … to get here, tonight I went a little way and saw some glimpses (panoramas), a truly impressive heritage, maybe we Marche people should to be more aware of what we have and we will also have to be much more proud and then, of course, performers like these artists (Il Volo), who can greatly enhance our extraordinary heritage, is beautiful.
They have created a work of art in a work of art, and this happens, when culture, art, music, combine with an extraordinary work like that of the Frasassi caves, I believe there is a combination that can make beauty even more protagonist.

Gianluca and MIchele on stage

WOMAN = Perfect President. Congratulations, congratulations to all of you.
MAN = Here is the prize, thanks Agnes (the girl who brings the prize).
WOMAN = Give it to the President who hands it over. Torpedine, I’ll keep your microphone, do you still want to say something Michele?
TORPEDINE = No, thanks, I’ve already talked a lot.
(the President gives the prize to Gianluca and Torpedine, and they pose for the usual photo).

Gianluca on stage receiving award

MAN = Delivery of the prize: Il Cassero d’Argento. (applause)
WOMAN = Thank you, thank you, thank you very much from the heart.
MAN = Thank you for allowing this marriage of excellence.
Thanks and congratulations.

In recent days, another promo has also been released from the Facebook page of the Frasassi caves, here it is.
And then, below a short video with short interviews with Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, during the shooting of the video inside the caves.
PIERO =  The goal for a singer is to convey emotions, to get something to people’s hearts.
I always say that it is not obvious, to receive affection from the public, to have many fans.
We are three privileged guys, but we feel a lot of responsibility on us, because when we think about the realization of a project, an idea, the first question we ask ourselves is, “Will it create some emotion, will it reach people, will they like it?”
IGNAZIO = Caves are magical places, where everything takes on a different magic.
Sharing this magical place with the maestro Vittorio Storaro (Italian cinematographer who will direct the video) was a great emotion.
GIANLUCA = The melodies of the great maestro Morricone are the protagonists in this wonderful setting which are the Frasassi caves.
We can say that it is one of the most beautiful experiences of our life.

FRASASSI CAVES, THE ENCHANTING NATURE.

But how beautiful and elegant are Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca? And how beautiful the caves behind them.
It will be a beautiful video !!

View inside Frassasi Caves

On July 31, in Naro (Piero’s town), an event was to take place in Piazza Garibaldi, in the presence of the public, where Piero would sing.
Unfortunately, due to the spread of the new Delta infections, the event has been suspended until a date to be determined. Sin.😑

Piero in an ad for Naro Fulgentissima

RAI 1 has decided to re-propose the tribute concert to Ennio Morricone on 14 August at 9 pm (Italian time), well I’ll know what to watch that evening! 😉
Surely many of you have already seen it, but I want to close with this beautiful and meaningful photo of Gianluca walking in the square of Montepagano, with his grandfather Ernesto.
How much sweetness in this shot.❤

Gianluca helping his Nonno across the piazza in Montepagano

And Ignazio ……….. will you say?
He seems that he is very busy with his new love affair with the dance teacher Ana Paula Guedes, during an interview Ignazio admitted that he was in love and that the story began in January …………but these are very personal situations of our guys, it is their private life and we just have to be happy for them. 😉

Ignazio with girlfriend, Ana

That’s all for now.
We have arrived in August, the holiday period, but this year very limited due to the continuous infections.
The situation here in Italy is good, because most of the people got both vaccines. There is a growing spread of the Delta variant, but for now, it seems thanks to vaccines, there are few hospitalizations and few deaths, thank goodness!
I hope that the situation is sustainable with you too.

JUNE AND JULY FULL OF EVENTS by Daniela

After the June 5th concert in the Verona Arena, there were many new things.
But first of all, I want to start with a photo of the concert I promised you, to show you where the families of the boys were during the evening.

(Please click on the photo to view a larger version.)

Concert audience showing where the parents were sitting in the front.

On June 23, Gianluca Ginoble went to visit the Vatican museums. Beautiful museums, full of works of art that are envied all over the world.

Gianluca in the Vatican museums accompanied by a member of the Swiss Guard, two priests and two young women.

Gianluca was accompanied by two young women. One of them, Nicole, was considered Gian’s new “girlfriend”, but after this episode, there was no more gossip about the couple. In the photo above, Nicole is the girl in the light floral dress.
Gianluca, inspired by the environments, also sang some verses of the Ave Maria. It was wonderful to hear
Gianluca’s voice resound in the beautiful Vatican rooms.
Piero’s birthday was on June 24th. Surely you have all seen the numerous and beautiful photos, also because the birthday party lasted two days.
On the evening of June 23, to arrive at midnight, there was a nice “party in white”, where all the guests were dressed in white. But how beautiful were Piero and Gianluca in white?

Among the numerous guests, including Torpedine and Barbara.
Great justified absentee, Ignazio, who was in Brazil, seems to be in the company of a damsel.
Here, we say, “If they are roses, they will bloom”. 😉

There was a lot of fun, the party took place in Sicily.

Look what a nice gift Gianluca gave to Piero !!
The three hands crossed, really beautiful and meaningful.

The party continued throughout the 26th day together with friends and family.

And then also in Taormina!!

…………. and could not miss Bambar and Saretto, with its excellent granitas!!

June 30th,  Ignazio was at a cousin’s wedding.

Piero also went to a wedding, but I think it’s wedding of his a friend.

On July 5, however, a little friend of ours we met during the concert dedicated to Morricone: Julian Iorio, was interviewed for the broadcast DEDICATED on Rai 1 and Ignazio Boschetto intervened during the interview.
IGNAZIO = Julian, how are you?
Meanwhile, I wanted to say thank you for keeping me company on the Arena stage, it was great to share the stage with you, you were appreciated by everyone, ah, what have you done !!
I send you a hug, a greeting and we hope to see you soon, there will be no lack of opportunity. Bye!
INTERVIEWER = Thanks to Ignazio Boschetto from IL Volo!!
JULIAN = Hi Ignazio!!
INTERVIEWER = He is your colleague.
Listen but what do you feel when you sing and play with these great musicians?
What do you feel?
JULIAN = Pleasure, much pleasure, because Ignazio, by now, we have known each other for a long time and we love each other, so I feel safe with him.❤
INTERVIEWER = Tell us something, but are you a little afraid, before performing, or are you really calm?
JULIAN = So, I was excited, but I knew that
I had mum and dad behind the scenes, and Ignazio by my side, and the whole orchestra was behind me picking me up. (he means that the orchestra was supporting him)😁❤
INTERVIEWER = Let’s review that moment together now, come on.
(here begins a short video of the fantastic performance of Ignazio and Julian)
How wonderful, this was a concert at the Verona Arena, dedicated to the great maestro Ennio Morricone.

On July 9, Il Volo released a video where they perform Grande Amore, with Brazilian singer Paula Fernandez.
”Grande Amore” video with the talented @paulafernandes has just been released and we hope you enjoy it! Watch it on YouTube!

Do you remember when I wrote you that the boys were in Rome at Villa Borghese for the shooting of a video? They were used in this video.
Did you like this performance paired with Paula?
Feel free to tell me your opinion.

But on July 9, this short video was also released, from the Facebook page of the “Frasassi Caves”, with the comment:
Il Volo at the Frasassi caves, a perfect combination of Nature, Style and Quality! Coming Soon.
On July 18, the Facebook page of the Frasassi Caves published this second short video.

What can I say, many events have filled the days of our guys.
Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca are back in a great way, they don’t have a moment’s break, and the three concerts in East Europe were great. Very good because as fans, we suffer when we don’t see or hear them for a long time.
I must say that the latest announcement, the one relating to the Frasassi Caves, gives me the chills, I just want to see what they will do in that beautiful context, it will be fantastic.
I can’t wait, what about you ??

A YEAR WITHOUT CONCERTS by Daniela

OK, it was news that I was hoping it would not come, I had to wait a few days to make this post, because the disappointment was really great and the thing had to be metabolized.
Surely you have all already read and are aware of the news, but it seemed right to talk about it together, maybe talking about it seems less bad.

On Monday 3 May, Volomusic (the official website of Il Volo) published the news that all the Italian concerts that were scheduled for 2020 and already moved, due to the pandemic, to 2021, will be further moved to 2022.

Within minutes, the tam tam of the news had already gone around the world and I received messages to confirm the news (unfortunately) from one continent to another.
So the nice concert I had to see on August 30th will be postponed to June 3rd 2022 !! And I know of many American friends who already had tickets for Taormina 2020, moved to 2021 and now to 2022.
After having patiently waited for a whole year, and having passed a terrible winter studded with so much bad and very bad news, we began to see a light at the end of this tunnel, also thanks to the spread of vaccines, and instead our hopes were dashed.

Left to right: Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero walking thru a hallway

Certainly it is not the fault of Il Volo, which is working to surprise us and which has already been denied the concert in the beautiful square in front of the Vatican in Rome, and which still does not know if the public will be present in the Arena in Verona.
It is well known that performing in front of a large festive audience gives you an incredible charge of adrenaline, it is quite another thing to perform “behind closed doors”.
So, the only opportunity here in Italy, this year, to attend a live concert of Il Volo is only that of the tribute concert to Morricone on June 4th.
The mayor of Verona is doing everything in his power to expand the number of people admitted to the concerts, from 1000 to 6000. I read his heartfelt letter that he published, asking for the support of all the government representatives of the Veneto region (where the Arena is).

Left to right: Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero singing on the Sanremo 2015 stage

On May 6, I heard the mayor himself speaking on Radio 102.5. He said that the Arena must restart and that he is responsible, not only as mayor, but also as supervisor for the Arena and therefore he says he has done everything so that there are no contagion problems and therefore he wants people to be admitted, at least 6000, and that their ticket (which will be nominative) is also proof for returning home after the hours set for the curfew (currently 10:00 pm).
Meanwhile, other news has arrived, because it has been published that on 11 May Il Volo will be in the Arena in Verona, and will record a video to announce the concert on 5 June and on that occasion they will also sing “Il canto degli italiani”, that is the Italian national anthem, which will be broadcast by RAI on 2 June, Republic Day here in Italy. Of course, the shooting in the Arena will be done without an audience (too bad).
But why was 11 May chosen to do these shots?

Special Appointment notice from Verona Arena

It is not a date chosen at random, but it is a symbolic date of a great anniversary.
On 11 May 1946, the Scala in Milan reopened to the public after the Liberation and the end of the war. Seventy-five years later, in the difficult period we all live in, the Verona Arena is fighting to reopen.
Here is the heartfelt appeal, published by the Verona Arena.
THE APPEAL – “We make this appeal with an objective, within our reach and that of our Authorities: that the Arena of Verona, in order not to die, can welcome at least 6,000 spectators in its shows until midnight – TO THE ARENA IN 6 THOUSAND UNTIL 24.00 – and that its first international event, Il Volo – Tribute to Ennio Morricone, scheduled for Saturday 5 June and broadcast in Italy and the United States of America, can take place with this public presence, to spread abroad an encouraging image of our country.”
Overhead view of Verona Arena
And then there is more, in the last two days there have been photos taken in Rome by our boys, in particular, pieces of videos that filmed Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero on a beautiful day in Villa Borghese, in the beautiful park , but why? Maybe a relaxating ride ??
But these little messages that our boys send us (thanks again Gianluca!), Are always small traces to make us understand that they are doing something ………….. in fact in fact here is the news that I have translated from ANSA from Brazil.:
Tenor trio Il Volo surprised fans on Wednesday 5 May by appearing in the gardens of Villa Borghese, a park located in Rome, Italy, to record a video dedicated to Brazil. The content of the clip has not been revealed, but the filming took place between the Italians who practiced physical exercises and the workers who rested for lunch. During the recording break, Ignazio Boschetto, Gianluca Ginoble and Piero Barone greeted and wished “good training” to all the citizens who stopped the race to watch them. At least 15 people participated in the making of the video dedicated to Brazil, a country that the tenors, famous for giving a pop touch to classical music, have already declared their love several times.

Villa Borghese Park in Rome

Mamma mia, what a nice surprise for those who had the pleasure of seeing them and maybe making the video with them.
It will be a nice surprise also for the Brazilian fans, who will see Il Volo on video, we hope it can be seen by us too !!
Left to right: Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio at the Rome airport
This photo, taken by Gianluca (thanks Gian), I can’t believe it was posted by Ignazio!
Beautiful and smiling, Piero Ignazio and Gianluca, at the Rome airport, impossible to know the direction, but in the meantime let’s enjoy their smiling faces and we notice with joy that Ignazio’s eyebrow is healed and there are no piercing !!😁😉
That’s all for now, lots of bad and good news, I must say this post started out sad, but then, seeing their smiling faces in Rome cheered us up, a smile was also formed on our faces, that smile that will make us wait patiently for the moment when we will see them again. ❤️
Daniela

🌸 Auguri per la festa della mamma!! 🥰🥰

UPDATE May 8

This post was ready to be published, when the organization of the Verona Arena published that they had the green light to admit 6000 people, so good news, now I hope to be admitted to purchase these tickets !!!
The Arena communiqué ends with these words:
“With the Il Volo event, live in Italy and also broadcast in the USA from the Arena on June 5, we want to give an encouraging image of Italy.”

Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero with the president and dignitaries from the Marche region in front the Abbey of San Vittore in Genga

This photo instead was published today by the president of the Marche region. There are with him:  Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca in Genga. Genga is the place where there are the beautiful and famous Frasassi Caves !!!
This photo was taken in front of the Abbey of San Vittore.
Could there be a collaboration with Il Volo?
We’ll see: Daniela
